I saw a hummingbird the other day, I watched it as it flitted around the garden, stopping at each flower, showing off it’s amazing ability to move its wings so fast they are just a blur. Appearing as if hovering, not so much flying.

A part of me really wanted to have my camera on hand, but I was frozen, captured, captivated by this amazing creature. Nature is astounding if you catch it from the right perspective, when you take the time to immerse yourself in it, to pause, take the blinders off, and be open to the animals, plants, flowers, sky, trees, insects that pass by us each and every day.

I’ve been immersed in planting things lately, trees, bushes, flowers, and even a fruit & vegetable garden. I have been giving in a little to letting the things that most call to me be a bigger part of my life lately, even if that means less time here in this space, and even my studio.

I’m not exactly sure where I’m going with this post, but I guess I just wanted to tell you it’s ok to pay more attention to what you need most right now in this moment. Maybe even try to make it a little bit bigger part of your life and see how the path unfolds. I’m going to see how this path unfolds…

The Butterfly Danced Within Her Soul Transforming Everything.

A new wee painting in the making. This is the first painting i’ve worked on in quite some time. Ah, time seems to be this illusive creature I can’t seem to tame lately.

Taking care of myself has become a bit of a priority for me, which explains said lack of time. I started running, and reading the pile of books sitting on my nightstand, and getting to bed an hour earlier. It is time well spent, but it leaves me feeling as if I am not committing enough time to other areas like painting, creating, and working on the long list of things I want to update, launch, and put out into the world!

Finding that balance, the happy in the middle is what I aim for, in fact isn’t it what we all aim for? Those moments of balance where everything feels right, perfect, and like you can take on the world because you just conquered your to do list!! I’ll take the imperfect for now though, sink into the messiness, chase the adventure that is life…

A messy blog post, a to do list with nothing crossed off, unfinished paintings, but i’m feeling good, well rested, and know i’ll get to it soon!

Have a brilliantly sunshiney weekend!

I realized last night that i’ve been painting in approximately a one foot square space. Somehow over the weeks as I’ve been working on hopefuls, wee paintings, and some other smaller works I managed to slowly add more and more things to my table. All of which have managed to take up some valuable work space! Thinking I should move to the floor where things are actually clean, and free of clutter!

I’m thinking I should take one day, or even just an hour or so once a month to re-organize my studio. At least make an attempt to keep some order, and space available for creating. I’m not sure if it will work or not, but going to give it a try. I’ll keep you posted!

So i’m curious how do you handle keeping things organized when you’re in the midst of painting? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated too!
