Details: Drunk girls can be so lovey-dovey. I love finding sappy messages scrawled in the bathroom of a bar.

Details: A diverse range of thoughts in this one photo! Normally I love finding poetry on a stall wall (wow, I bet that comes as a complete shocker to everyone!), but unless I’ve misread some of the blurry words in the 3rd message, this poem is a) rather boring, and b) doesn’t make much sense. I think I like the second message best. Or maybe the fourth. :P

Details: I’m reminded of the perpetual child Peter Pan with this scrawled message, but I’m also weirded out by the smudged red writing that looks suspiciously bloody. I suppose it’s fitting for Halloween graffiti?

Details: A couple of months ago I went to the relaunch party for This Magazine and found a bevy of awesome scribbles in the hosting bar’s bathroom. The above photo is the first of many that I’ll post over the next week or so. This one makes me laugh mostly because I originally thought that Regina was the name of some fledgling bar, but upon doing some Google research I quickly learned that the original graffiti-er was talking about Regina, Saskatchewan. (I did discover in the process, however, that there’s a delicious-looking pizza joint in Little Italy called Regina Pizza & Trattoria!) Apparently England’s diva played two shows in Saskatchewan’s second largest city last fall, thus effectively, as the second graffiti-er noted, putting Regina “on the map.” Congrats, Regina!

Reads: This too shall pass (I hope anyway…been constipated for days!) :)

Details: And here is part 2 of a Union Station stall’s take on motivational messages! As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, this is definitely the more off-beat scribble of the two, but despite the toilet humour, this did give me a good giggle.

Details: I found a pair of graffitied messages in a stall at Union Station the other day. Although both can be seen as positive and motivational in a way, the other one is definitely a bit more on the quirky side! Check back tomorrow morning for the other encouraging message!

Reads: NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES THEY PAINT THIS WALL COBB STILL SUCKS

Details: This photo was sent in by reader Drew from Houston, Texas. To accompany the photo, Drew sent along a fantastic explanation of the history of this piece of graffiti, and so I’ll include his exact words here:

“Cobb was the head of the MOB (Marching Owl Band) at Rice and graduated in 1974. This inscription has been replaced and upheld constantly through many paintings since it was first penned before he left the University. It is known to change capriciously back and forth from ‘Cobb still sucks’ to ‘Cobb, you still suck’. It is the only graffiti in the entire bathroom.”

I think it’s amazing that this one piece of graffiti has stuck around for so many years, and thus a huge THANK YOU to Drew for capturing it on photo and sharing the story! (Although, I must note, I do feel a bit bad for Cobb!)
