Monday, Oh Monday

You haven't been a bad day and you haven't been a great day

You've slowly passed by but I got a lot accomplished which has to count for

something, right?

Tonight is another late posting and I can't really tell you why.

I mean I've been busy plugging away getting tasks done and craft projects completed but I've had the time to post and haven't until now.

Tonight I am sharing with you a card that showcases all but one of the new In Colors.

It wasn't my intention to do so but it's how it all came together.

I used Pool Party as my base cut at 5 1/2"x4 1/4" followed

by Crumb Cake as my first layer cut at 5 1/4"x4".

This is where I stopped and pondered what I wanted to do with this card.

I was looking through my stamp sets as I have been slowly but surely working on Thank You cards for my Aunt and decided to go with the set Thank You Kindly.

From a project that I was working on earlier in the day my Scallop Circle punch was still set out on my craft desk. I grabbed some of my scrap Whisper White Card Stock and decided to make some rolled paper roses.

For the Kind Thanks sentiment I stamped it using Whisper White Craft Ink then set it with White Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool.

To add a little dazzle I searched through my accessories drawer and found my Illuminate Top Coat Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink and added it to the edges of my rolled roses.

I also went ahead added some of that pearlized ink to the smaller of my two butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die. I used Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, and Wisteria Wonder for the butterflies.

I keep finding myself reaching for these new colors.

With each new order I place I make sure to add a pack of each of these new colors of card stock so I will be up to my eyeballs in it when it goes to retire!

How do you like the over all look?

Bridal Shower Card - Stampin' Up!

Today's posting is going up quite late in the day,

for that I want to apologize. This morning I woke up and got right to work on my cousins

bridal shower card as her shower was today at 1pm.

I finished the card with barely 30 minutes to spare before I had to leave as I was meeting

my mom, grandma, and aunt so we could all carpool out the destination.

I've seen these adorable bride cards made before and wanted to try my hand at it.

I knew that I've had this template saved to my computer for a very long time and went searching for it. The template is one that the wonderful miss Jan Tink

(Janine Tinklenberg) created and for that I want to give her a big thank you.

The template that she provides for you is the skirt and arms, the rest is up to your creative imagination.

Since my cousins dress is an off-white/cream color I decided to use Very Vanilla as my base color.

I took my roll of Sticky Strip and put five strips of it on my card.

I then took my Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and began folding it to one side and the other - from the top of the skirt to the bottom to give it this "gathered" look.

For the bodice I took a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock, my Big Shot and my Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit Die to get the heart that you see.

The scalloped edging of the heart really gives it that added detail for me.

The necklace is a strip of pearls from our Basic Pearl collection.

For the bouquet I decided to use Whisper White for the base flowers that I punched out using the flower punch in our Punch Pack.

Followed by punching out more of the same flowers in Pool Party and Lucky Limeade.

She has orange in her wedding colors as well but I couldn't get the orange in there without looking funny in my eyes.

Here is the inside of my card -

which is the only stamping I have done on this entire card.

I used the Borderlines Stamp Set and my Lucky Limeade Classic Ink pad and stamped

the vines at the top and bottom of my card stock.

One thing I will say that Stampin' Up! is lacking in is sayings and/or verses that we can use on the inside of cards or even the front of our cards.

I wrote the quote on the inside of the card.
It is a quote that I received in a wedding card at my own wedding and
thought that it fit perfectly.

Now don't judge my handwriting it's not the best but I didn't
have the time to type it up and beautify it in My Digital Studio before I put it in the card!

And finally an over all view of the card.

After making this one I want to make a few more to keep on hand.

I'm pleased to say that my cousin and everyone else loved the card at the shower.

She was a little surprised that I made it and wondered how long it took!

Now that I'm home and have got my blog post taken care of I need to get my booty in the kitchen and start on dinner as it is after 5 and I can see the little eyes watching my wondering why I'm not getting dinner done!

I've meant to share it the last couple of days but I completely space when I go to take my photos for the day and don't grab her card!

Raining Flowers Stamp Set - Take Two - Stampin' Up!

Good morning everyone
I hope that you all got to sleep in on this rainy Saturday morning.
If not I hope that your day has gotten off on a productive start.
It's just after ten AM here and I've accomplished half of my To-Do List!
I've got the dishes done, the laundry done, made it to the grocery store to get stuff for the hubby's dinner for him to take to work, got his dinner made, followed by getting the kids up and breakfast made.
Phew!

Now I'm sitting down to take a moment to share with you my newest creation along with sipping on my
oh so yummy coffee.

So bold and bright! I love Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango together.
Using Whisper White as the background makes the bright colors pop that much more.

This is the Raining Flower stamp set that I showed you yesterday.
It's hard to pick which new flower set is my favorite. I think it's a tie between this one and Array of Sunshine but it's a very close tie with many sets in second place.

Here is a shot of the inside of my card along with a glimpse at the envelope to match at the bottom.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the stamp set -
Happiest Birthday Wishes which is a current Hostess set that you can get with your Hostess Dollars.
I loved the bright colors together so much and how I did the two panels on the front of the card that I decided to do a full 12x12 page of this design.

I'm a little bummed with this photo, maybe I'll take an updated one in a bit as the color washed out of it. It doesn't stand out as much and as bright as the other pictures I took do.

Raining Flowers Stamp Set - Stampin' Up!

Good morning, good morning.

It's finally Friday.

Have you got any plans for the weekend?

Unfortunately for me, my darling husband works all day today

and tomorrow until late evening which doesn't leave much of a weekend

with him.

I have considered taking the kids down to Lake Fair here in Olympia depending on the weather but I don't know that I'm brave enough to do that on my own!

This morning I am sharing with you another CASEd card only this time

the person I've chosen to CASE is

Tessa Wise - Raining Flowers Card.

She is another one of those demonstrators that always without a doubt does beautiful amazing work.

Simply stunning! Who wouldn't want to case it!

The only real difference between Tessa's card and mine is I choose Calypso Coral

for my flower color and she used Poppy Parade.

Raining Flowers is a new set in the Idea Book & Catalog and it is also a Two-Step stamp set.

I'm starting to love these sets more and more but I will gladly admit I struggle with lining them up on a daily basis!

Here is a shot of what the inside of my card looks like...

And my envelope.

One thing I'm starting to notice more is the compliments that I'm getting for making everything match, from the front of the card, to the inside, to the envelope. It's made me

put more effort into making sure everything flows nicely.

This is one of my favorite ways to place ribbon on a card.

I put a piece of Sticky Strip on my card and take some ribbon -

(usually about 12inches)

and begin to fold my ribbon this way and that, until you get this

ruffled look.

Here I've used our 1/2" Chantilly Crochet Ribbon.

Once I got it all "bunched" up on my card

I took my sponge that has Crumb Cake ink on it and carefully blotted my ribbon to give it a dirty look to go with the rest of the look on the card.

Pretty Postage Stamp Set - Stampin' Up!

It's Thursday..?
Seriously...all ready?

Where has this week gone?!

This morning in a few short hours I have my 32 week check up.

I'm excited and anxious.
I'm excited that we are getting to the end of the pregnancy

but I'm anxious because it'll add another little life to take care of and be daughter number four!

If you would have told me growing up that I would five children, with four of them being daughters.....
I think I would have avoided finding my husband!

Posy Punch Stamp Set - Stampin' Up!

Can you tell I'm loving our new hostess items?

I've only been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator since early 2009 but in that time

I truly believe that these are the best hostess items we've offered!

On page 11 of the Idea Book & Catalog there is a card made using My Digital Studio that uses the Cheerful Treat Designer Series Paper. I keep eyeballing it as I wanted to recreate it only using actual supplies.

Without further ado here is my take on it

For the "swirl" images that you see I used a image from the stamp set Creative Elements. This is going to be a set I cannot wait to not only show you but see what all of you have come up with. It is beautiful, gorgeous, breath taking, striking....get the point?! new stamp set.

For the inside of the card I left it pretty simple.

All I added was a stamp across the top and bottom...

Yes, you guessed it, another new set that coordinates perfectly with the Cheerful Treat Designer Series Paper, called Borderlines.

For the leaves I had to take my darling Paper Snips and cut them out of the designer series paper. Let me tell you....that was a difficult task, cutting into the paper knowing I wouldn't be able to use the scraps was almost heartbreaking!

Is that pathetic or what?!

Daring Adventure Stamp Set - Stampin' Up!

Good morning and happy Tuesday everyone.

I want to start off by sharing a quote with you that put a smile on my face before I even reached my cup of coffee! -

"A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere"

I can't tell you how many ideas I jot down during the day and come back to days or even months later and am just inspired to create what it is I wrote down as I was the day I made the note.

It also makes me think of my two oldest children, Tori who will be starting 1st grade this September and Caleb who will be starting kindergarten. They are both entering a whole new world and growing up so quickly. They are realizing there is much more to life and that it will be school that will get them there one day.

They are seeing that with my husband as well who will be joining them in going back to school in September for a Mechanical Engineering Degree. Although for him, I think it'll be his laptop instead of a #2 pencil and his dream of a better job that will take him where he wants to go!

Yesterday I showed you a new stamp set from the new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog, this morning will be no different.

The whole reason I bought this stamp set,

Daring Adventure

was because of the beautiful sample they provided for us in the Idea Book & Catalog on page 205.

Although I've got to admit it flows nicely with the quote I've shared with you this morning.

Once again I did not directly case the sample in the catalog but instead made subtle changes to make it my own.

Stampin' Up! out did themselves with the samples in this catalog, I think by the end of the catalog, I will have CASED everything in it!

I can't believe that it has been almost a month since I've posted regularly.

Where do my days go?!

I've been crafting away, getting ready for a craft fair but haven't had the time to post apparently!

Sheesh...

I'm here to correct that now -

plus I'm scheduling blog posts for the entire next week.

The card that I'm sharing with you this morning is not only a new stamp set in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog but it's a fabulous hostess set that you can buy with your Hostess Dollars!

Does this card look familiar?

If you have thumbed through, drooled on and/or just scanned through the new catalog it should. It is a case of a card on page 10. I have a much greater respect for the wonderful/amazing people at Stampin' Up! who put these samples together.

I stamped and cut out enough material to do 4 of these cards (inside, outside and envelope).

4 1/2 hours later my hand was cramping from all the cutting, thankfully the assembling was a cake walk.

It's not a complete copy of the catalog version.

I used the "Thank You" phrase from another new Hostess Set called Faith in Nature.

Instead of using the Decorative Label Punch I switched it up and used the Modern Label Punch. I didn't have any of the new Merry Medley On Board so I used Crumb Cake Card Stock and the Scallop Trim Corner and Border Punches.

I already loved the look of the catalog card but I wanted to see with the small changes I made to my card, how using the new 2011-2013 In-Color Designer Printed Brads would look on it.

What do you think of the addition?

I think it adds a little something extra but I personally like the look of both cards.

My Friend Stamp Set Sneak Peek - Stampin' Up!

My share for you today is a sneak peek at a soon to be released stamp set called

My Friend.

July 1st is only a day away, we have the rest of today and until noon tomorrow to be able to place our orders for all of those darling new goodies in the new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog!

I'm too excited to even begin to explain it!

I've used two of our five current Designer Series Paper Stacks.
I've used colors Old Olive and Tangerine Tango from the Brights Collection along with Certainly Celery from the Subtles Collection.
Now the trick is telling which green is which! It's pretty easy to tell here in the picture but when I first started assembling this card I kept grabbing the wrong green!

I've used two of the four images here on the front of the card. The leaves are stamped in Certainly Celery with the Hello sentiment stamped in Tangerine Tango.

Matching envelope to go with it

Here is a picture of the front of the card along with what the inside looks like. Not the best angle but you get the picture! I used my scraps for the background then cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and stamped the My Friend sentiment in Old Olive.

Are the cards the same?
Other then the not so perfect stamping on the front one!
On the front card I've cut my Designer Series Paper strips at 1 1/4".
I thought that the strips were a little too big so for my second card I cut my strips at 1".
I like the design but I think I'm going to scale down my strips a little bit more!

I've embellished by adding some buttons from the Designer Neutrals collection and also from our Bitty Button pack.

Thankful Thursday

What do you have to be thankful for today?

I'm thankful for my baby girl being healthy and growing even

if it is causing me a few small health issues.

Today I had my 28 week appointment and she is right on track,

it's all that I could ask for.

I got my next four appointments scheduled over the next eight weeks

which will put us at 36 weeks! Getting closer every day.

Awash with Flowers is a stamp set I recently purchased and of course have yet to use!

I have far too many stamp sets that I'll admit haven't seen ink and I'm working on changing that.

The greeting on this stamp set is from the set Sense of Time -

it'll be retired with the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.

The greeting on this second card is from the Hostess Stamp Set Occasional Quotes.

I loved the color combination that I used yesterday -

Pool Party and Island Indigo together so I used that as inspiration for today.

I started stamping my stems in Lucky Limeade followed by Pear Pizzazz

as my second color for the leaves.

Awash with Flowers is a 2 step stamping stamp set.

That's a mouth full, isn't it!?

I usually find these sets challenging as I can be quite the perfectionist when it comes to trying to get my images straight and lined up perfectly but this isn't one of those sets.

The style of it is suppose to be a little off center and wonky which just adds to it's beauty.

I'm going to try and be better about this as I've been asked what the inside of my cards look like. Here is the inside of the this one. It's the same inside in the Pool Party/Indigo Island card as well.

For the second color combination I used Wisteria Wonder and Perfect Plum. I tried Rich Razzleberry first instead of Perfect Plum but it didn't look nearly as good.

The greeting on this set is from another Hostess Set called Because I Care.

I decided to add a little embellishment to this card instead of just the black frame.

I used a couple buttons from the Soft Subtle Collection.

Delicate Doilies Stamp Set - Stampin' Up!

Good morning everyone.

How is your week going thus far?

Personally mine could be better but I can't complain because it could be worse.

Stealing a line from my husband that seems fitting, "You could always be on fire." That's his response to anyone around him complaining that things are rough at the moment.

What a big tool.

Things have been crazy busy with my oldest getting ready to be out of school for the summer. I will be glad when the chaos is over, even if it only means it'll be crazier come fall with our oldest daughter moving up to first grade and our son entering kindergarten. Oh the joys of parenthood!

Delicate Doilies is one of the stamp sets that we as demonstrators were able to order early as a sneak peek.

It's a beautiful set of four doilies in all different sizes and designs.

Here are two cards that I created last night using new In-Colors Pool Party and Island Indigo.

Along with Whisper White Craft Ink and White Embossing Powder.

I really wanted to make this card without the embossing powder but attempting to color in the design on the doilies was quite difficult without it, as I was coloring on the white ink and turning it blue!

The greetings are from the stamp sets Happy Greetings & Word Play which are both stamped in Island Indigo classic ink.

I love the way the ribbon came out on this card or should I say how the bow came out on this card.

I've used our 1/2" Chantilly Crochet Trim Ribbon for it.

I think the best part of this stamp set is that it has matching Designer Series Paper called Flirtatious Specialty.

Here is day number two of showing you a soon to be retired stamp set

Seeing Stars

I was struggling at first to come up with something that fit this set in my eyes.

I'm not completely thrilled with the end result of this card but I'll show it to you anyways.

I knew that I had wanted to use more of the new In-Colors and decided to go with Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, and Lucky Limeade. You've seen Lucky Limeade on a previous post but this is the first time your seeing Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party (at least on my blog!).

Like the colors?

After picking my colors it was coming up with a layout.

I started browsing through all of my Stampin' Up! goodies (which is entirely way too time consuming in it self) to find something I wanted to use. I came across my Tasteful Trim Bigz Die that I have yet to use so it'd have to do!

I've used one of the smaller star images and punched it out using our Small Star Punch (I'm going to have to look in the catalog before I tell you if it's still a current item or not!)

The second stamp set that I've used on this card is Happy Greetings.

It's another set that I've purchased and this is the first time that it's not only seen ink but been shown on my blog.

She is flipping, flopping and stretching to a point that if I try to stand up or move too quickly I get a gosh awful cramp in my hip.

It's no fun at all.

Always Stamp Set - Something Old, Something New

Earlier today I promised I'd be making a post using the stamp set -

Always

that is due to be retired on June 30th.

I couldn't let you down so without further ado here it is.

I've created a standard A2 size card box featuring not only the stamp set Always but also retired designer series paper that I loved, Parisian Breeze Specialty. Luckily when we went through our color renovation at the beginning of the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog they brought back the color Baja Breeze which is the blue in this designer series paper! You'll probably never hear me admit this again, but I love that I overstock and hoard certain things, like packs of this beautiful paper!

I designed the card first then made the box to match exactly. I used my scraps left over to decorate the envelopes.

I'm kicking myself at the moment though, I took pictures of everything except the inside of the card. I'll have to update with a picture of the inside in the morning.

The title of my blog post is

Always - Something Old, Something New

I'm going to assume you've realized that the "something old" is the stamp set Always as it will no longer be around in a couple of weeks. Have you been able to pinpoint what the "something new" is?

If you are having a little trouble, I'll help you out.

Do you recognize the ribbon that I'm using?

It's one of those wonderful sneak peek items that us Stampin' Up! demonstrators were allowed to order early from the new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog.

It's called 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon, it'll be available in 10 different colors, yes I said 10!

I cannot wait to get my hands on all of the colors!

If you look back at the first couple of photos I showed you of the box, you may have noticed this darling little flower that I made using the new ribbon. On each scallop along the edges there are little pierced holes which making stitching your flower together 1000 times easier! To give it that little added detail I added one of our Basic Pearls to the center of it.

You can see it opened from the side in the first photo, almost closed in the second and lastly completely closed on the third.

Sneak Peek at Two New In-Colors & Hostess Stamp set Precious Butterflies

It's been a few days since I've posted, for that I want to apologize. Life in general has been intense, chaotic, and completely relaxing all rolled into one. Confusing much, I couldn't agree more! My days will start out either with me wanting to rip my hair out or waking up peacefully. It all depends on if my darling children are wanting to wake me up at 5AM or 7AM! Those two hours make a world of difference in if the day is going to run smoothly or mommy turns into a Drill Sergeant shouting orders and punishment.

We enjoyed a beautiful weekend this last one, with temperatures getting into the high 70's! It was beautiful, so beautiful that I was entirely too consumed with being outside that I forgot to put on my sun block. Which has led me to currently looking like a lobster, which is not a good look on anyone, let alone on a pasty white Irish woman who is otherwise someone who glows in the dark when the lights are out!

One of the days we spent out at Ocean Shores

It was amazing, the kids had a ton of fun, even if they did get wiped out by the incoming waves within 5 minutes of being there! Whoops! Good thing mom brought a change of clothes for all of them.

On Monday part of my pre-order of the new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog arrived. I couldn't wait to start playing with my goodies but I was mesmerized by the new catalog soo much that I didn't create anything until Tuesday when the second shipment came in. I cannot wait for this catalog to go live on July 1st. Stampin' Up! has most certainly out done some selves on this one.

Here is a card that I created using two of the five new In-Colors.

Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade

The stamp set used is called Precious Butterflies. It is one of the new hostess sets that you will be able to earn when the new Idea Book & Catalog goes live. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it, it's another captivating butterfly set! You can't have too many of those, could you?

I've also used the stamp set Itty Bitty Bits for the little flowers you see.

When the new In-Colors were released I wasn't too sure how to feel. They seem similar to colors that were retired last year when we went through our color renovation which was a disappointment at first. As soon as I had them in hand though my mind completely changed. I am loving the Calypso Coral as I was bummed when we lost Cameo Coral, and the new purple, Wisteria Wonder is gorgeous!
