Yesterday my Megasquirt II kit came in the mail, so of course I had to set right into it.
Eviscerating the package produced this.

With this lovely little sticker on it.

How it started out at about 3:00 yesterday.

How it appeared at about 12:20 today.

And the finished product.

Some of the leads on the diodes are so thick you could probably arc weld with them.

And then FedEx was so polite as to let me know my fuel rail was on my door step. Next step, lop the left and right mounts off.

You people make me look like a slob . I'll have to clean my engine bay in the spring. It's got, what I suspect to be, 5 years of schmutz caked on all over. It's going to take some work.

Yes, although not a recent one, fortunately. Also, I didn't really make a decision to stop drinking - I just raised the bar (and got my previous girlfriend in the following weekend).

Other colors are equally bad, but around here white is the most probable outcome.

If you can, jack the front of the vehicle up and check the suspension as best as you can. With a wheel in the air, grab it at 12 and 6 and shake. If there's any play or clanking there, the wheel bearing will need work. While the car is in the air, see if you can pull, tug or twist anything in the suspension area to determine if anything is terminally loose. Be careful and make sure the vehicle is secured, is on stands and grounded wheels are both chocked. Don't forget to share the exhaust around as well. Wear heavy duty work gloves and eye protection. Stuff will fall into your eye otherwise. What I normally do is hit the exhaust in various places at various angles with the heel of my palm to determine how loose it is and whether it makes any noise when it hits something.

With the car on the ground, do a boucne test to determine if the shocks are worn.

cementon?? i think that plaza with tractor supply and mcdo might be in highland. i live across the river from there and am over in that area at least once a week.

It's been a while since I've updated and I'm currently sitting right around 12,8xx. In three weeks, after owning my automovehicle for a year, I will be right around the year average of 13k.

Over 30 around town, all stop and go with plenty of hills and not the best MT skills. I hardly ever go on the freeway but when I do it seems to get around 38-40. Now that the Fit is getting broken in the MPG is creeping upward.

I saw where gas prices are expected to go up quite a bit, maybe even close to $5 a gal. They are already plenty high here, like about $3.70.

I love the Kia Soul commercials! They don't seem to have any for the Fit.

Just being submerged in the ocean is in itself incredible. I don't think ANY modern vehicles would be able to survive that, considering all of the electronic controls.
