Found this while cleaning out an old wallet. I don’t need it anymore. If a haircut is $15 then I figure a card with one haircut down is worth, like, two bucks.

This is my 1,000th blog post on Starved Fool (which has lived through many names and iterations).

Fans around the world sent in pictures of the celebrations leading up to this moment. Here are some of my favorites.

That guy is going to present me with a special dessert that’s only made once a century. Legend says it tastes terrible, but I’m going to fake that I like it because I don’t want to offend anyone.

These folks are camping out overnight to see me in a parade tomorrow. The float I’m going to be on will be epic. How epic? The most boringest thing on it will be a mechanical bull, which I will ride while singing America the Beautiful with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir behind me. There will be fireworks.

I don’t actually know these people. They said they knew of my fascination with group ice dancing (???) and sent in this picture. It’s the thought that counts.

Youngsters in our Nation’s Capital celebrate. You’ll notice the flag over the White House is at full mast for me.

Just the beginning

I love blogging. A thousand posts later, the idea that we each have a platform from which we can share our personal ideas, stories, and perspectives still blows my mind. Throughout the history of the world, there’s never been a more powerful tool for the spreading of ideas and individual expression. That’s why it’s so important to stand up and tirelessly fight against legislation like SOPA and PIPA which threaten the empowering democracy of the web.

Sure, there’s a lot of crap out there. But the expression “one man’s junk is another man’s treasure” is perhaps best applied online.

Aside from being concerned about what the cleaning staff thinks of me, these are great to have around the office – fantastic for cleaning fingerprints off gadgets.

But why do I have XXL men’s underwear in my office? Well that’s none of your business, now is it?

Does this “fit within their brand”? I doubt it.

Is it “best practices”? Definitely not.

In fact, I’m guessing it’s never been done before.

But it’s only been up for a week and it has over 1.4 million views – a lot better than anything else they’ve uploaded (and I’m willing to bet enrollment goes up):
