            <description><![CDATA[<p class="p1">Bill Cochrane, 91, of Morenci, Mich., died May 28, 2012, at the Fulton Manor in Wauseon, Ohio.&nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1">He was born Aug. 2, 1920, in Onsted, Mich., the son of George and Winnifred (Ross) Cochrane.&nbsp; On June 28, 1941, in Reading, Mich., he married Irene Aemisegger.&nbsp; She preceded him in death Dec. 25, 2010.</p>
<p class="p1">Bill lived in the Morenci area since 1965, moving from Quincy. He farmed and also worked at Whiteford Valley Golf Course near Ottawa Lake, Mich.</p>
<p class="p1">He is survived by three daughters, Carol (and Larry) Clymer of Wauseon, Beverly (and Don) Zuvers of Morenci and Sharon (and Ernie) Hicks of Montpelier, Ohio; a son, Gary (and Tammy) Cochrane of Wauseon; a daughter-in-law, Cherie Cochrane;&nbsp; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.</p>
<p class="p1">Besides his wife, Bill was preceded in death by a son, Robert; two brothers, Ross and Wilfred Cochrane; a granddaughter, Joie Lee Redlawski; and a great-great-granddaughter, Savannah Hicks.</p>
<p class="p1">Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci, with Rev. Jane Ream officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.&nbsp; Visitation is scheduled from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday.</p>
<p class="p1">Memorial contributions are suggested to the Morenci Fire Department or to the Skelton Brothers Reward Fund.</p>]]></description>

            <description><![CDATA[<p>Vera Louise Hibbard, 91, of N. Fayette St., Fayette, Ohio, died May 27, 2012, at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, where she had been a patient for several weeks.</p>
<p>She was born June 10, 1920, in Beaufort, N.C., to the late Joseph C. and Merle C. (Pelletier) Hill. Vera married Durwood G. “Woody” Hibbard on Dec. 30, 1944, in Bridgeton, N.C., and he preceded her in death on July 23, 2011.</p>
<p>Vera lived her early life in North Carolina, where she attended high school and Lewisburg College. Woody and Vera later moved to Fayette with their young family. Vera was a charter member of the Fayette Firebelles, and a member of the Fayette Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking trips back to North Carolina, as well as sewing, Bingo and puzzles. Vera was a member of the Fayette United Methodist Church.</p>
<p>Surviving Vera are her three sons, W. Frank (and Alice) Hibbard of Noblesville, Ind., Durwood “Galen” Jr. (and Jane) Hibbard of Stryker, Ohio, and Kenneth R. (and Pam) Hibbard of Fayette; two brothers, Jessie Frederick (and Angeline) Hill of Alliance, N.C., and William Tolson Hill of Bridgeton, N.C.; two sisters, Janice Fruchey and Daveta Cuthrell, both of Bridgeton; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Norma Hibbard, Virginia Freeman, and Doris Sadler; and a brother, Calvin Hill.</p>
<p>Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette, with Pastor Katherine Currier officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.</p>
<p>Memorial donations are suggested to the Fayette United Methodist Church.</p>]]></description>

            <description><![CDATA[<p class="p1">May Curry, 70, of Morenci, died May 21, 2012, at home.</p>
<p class="p1">She was born Sept. 20, 1941, in Adrian, Mich., the daughter of Erwin and Helen (Goff) Plant. She married Billie L. Curry&nbsp; on April 4, 1959, in Morenci, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1996.</p>
<p class="p1">May lived in the Morenci area since 1964. She was employed at the Morenci Rubber Plant and then at Seaway Building Services of Toledo, retiring in 2001.</p>
<p class="p1">May is survived by a daughter, Corrine (and Joe) Stanley of Hudson; two sons, Brad Curry of Japan and Doug Curry of White Lake; two step-grandchildren, Subrina and Michael; and a sister, Ruth Cheesbro of Adrian.</p>
<p class="p1">Besides her husband, May was preceded in death by her parents. &nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1">Following May's request there will be no funeral or visitation. Arrangements were handled by Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci.</p>]]></description>

            <description><![CDATA[<p class="p1">Mark Roman, 52, of rural Fayette, Ohio, died May 14, 2012, at home after a year-long battle with cancer.</p>
<p class="p1">Mark worked in the air conditioning and heating business as a sheet metal installer and was employed with Best Heating and Cooling for 14 years and with Whitford Heating and Cooling for five years.</p>
<p class="p1">Mark is survived by his wife, Bonnie; three daughters, Heather Lockwood and Kellie Jackson, both of Tampa, Fla., and Crystal Gootee of Addison, Mich.; one son, Richard Rowland of Reading, Mich.; three sisters, Shelly (and Bob) Morgan of Knoxville, Tenn., Ilona (and Jeff) Borg of Addison and Yvonne (and Tony) Meadows of Redford, Mich.; five brothers, a twin, Matthew Roman of Madison Heights, Mich., Michael (and Keri) Roman III of Indianapolis, Ind., Leon (and Bridgette) Blackburn of Maybee, Mich., Chris (and Carol) Yorch of Lake City, Mich. and Tony Yorch of Punta Gorda, Fla.; six nephews; eight nieces; and 17 grandchildren.</p>
<p class="p1">He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Margaret Roman, Jr.; and a son, Matthew Rowland.</p>
<p class="p1">Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. May 26, at Munson United Brethren Church, 13836 Munson Hwy., with Pastor Don Merillat officiating.</p>

            <description><![CDATA[<p class="p1">Donald “Rick” Guss, 65, of Jackson, Mich., died May 12, 2012, at Allegiance Health in Jackson.&nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1">He was born Sept. 1, 1946, in Hudson Mich., the son of Donald Carl and Mildred (Palmer) Guss. He was a 1965 graduate of Litchfield High School and attended Olivet College. He married Lynn A. Rice on Aug. 14, 1966.</p>
<p class="p1">He operated Rick’s Family Foods in Morenci, Mich., for 30 years, as well as the former Don’s Market in Litchfield and Camden. Rick also worked in sales for several years and for the 12th Judicial Court Community Service Department in Jackson.</p>
<p class="p1">He was very active coaching softball and baseball in the Springport, Morenci and Camden areas. &nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1">In addition to his wife, Rick is survived by two daughters, Teresa (and Steve) Schramm and JoDee (and Chris) Johnston, both of Jackson; one son, Donald Jason (and Heather) Guss of Gaylord, Mich.; two sisters, Joan (and Bill) VanArsdalen of Hillsdale, Mich., and Cheryl (and Ron) Buchler of Grass Lake, Mich.;&nbsp; five grandchildren, Tyler, Lexie and Helena Schramm and Sutton and Cooper Johnston.</p>
<p class="p1">He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dena Brown.</p>
<p class="p1">A memorial service is planned at 11 a.m. Friday at the Litchfield United Methodist Church, with Reverends Martin Cobb and Clyde Wonders officiating.&nbsp; Visitation is scheduled from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Litchfield. &nbsp;</p>

            <description><![CDATA[<p class="p1">Barbara Ann Thompson of Tulsa, Okla., died May 2, 2012, following a battle with multiple health issues.</p>
<p class="p1">Barbara was born in Detroit, Mich., to Stephen and Adelaide Sarnac. She grew up in Fayette, Ohio, where her family owned and operated a manufacturing business.</p>
<p class="p1">Barbara attended Nazareth Academy in Nazareth, Mich. Prior to getting married&nbsp; and starting a family, she headed the family business, traveling the country, and working as the lead sales associate.&nbsp; After marrying and moving to the Tulsa area, she worked as a secretary for Bishop Kelley High School, Church of Saint Benedict, Christ the King Catholic Parish and the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother. &nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1">She lived in the Tulsa area the majority of her adult life and was known as a devout Catholic, with her faith serving as the cornerstone of her life. &nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1">Barbara was a champion and great advocate for those with developmental disabilities. She was passionate about the rights and dignity of care for those that often could not speak for themselves. As their voice, she fought and won numerous battles resulting in many positive changes for those with disabilities. &nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1">Barbara is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Bush of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Susan Marie Thompson of Tulsa, Okla.; two granddaughters, Lauren and Reagan Bush; son-in-law, Jeff Bush; two brothers, Michael Sarnac of Richmond, Va., and Peter Sarnac of South Bend, Ind.; and two sisters, Terry Ames of Phoenix, Ariz., and Julie Conklin of Wyoming, Pa.&nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1">Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Mary Lou and Jean; and brothers Stephen and Joe. &nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1">A rosary and visitation service is planned at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, in South Tulsa. A funeral mass will follow at 10 a.m. Monday, May 7, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Tulsa.&nbsp;</p>

            <description><![CDATA[<p>Dottie Lou Garrison, 63, of S. Gorham Street, Fayette, Ohio, died April 13, 2012, at her home.</p>
<p>Dottie was born Feb. 25, 1949, in Alvada, Ohio, to the late Thurman and Golden (Turner) Cole. She married Marion Junior Garrison on Dec. 23, 1967, in Hillsdale, Mich., and he survives.</p>
<p>Dottie grew up on the family farm near Hillsdale and attended school in Pittsford, Mich. A homemaker, Dottie loved life and she especially enjoyed motorcycle riding, traveling and camping, and crafting with beads.</p>
<p>In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Ronald E. Garrison of Morenci, Mich.; four sisters, Wanda L. Rosales of Albion, Ind., Anna (and Bruce) Grwinski of Auburn, Ind., Kittie (and Ric) Richmond of Montpelier, Ohio, and Gloria (and Kenneth) Keasal of Hillsdale; five grandchildren, Falon, Ridge, Brianna, McKayla and Alden; and three great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings in infancy.</p>
<p>Funeral services are planned a 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette, with Pastor Samuel Wickard officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Monday.</p>

<p class="p1">He was born Jan. 1, 1957, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Charles Henry and Christine Bell (White) Philbin.&nbsp; He married Joan (Martin) Graham on Sept. 22, 2007, in Howell, Mich., and she survives.</p>
<p class="p1">Besides his wife, Christopher is survived by three step-children, Ashley (and Matthew) Holbrook of Fowlerville, Mich., Alex Graham and Adam Graham, both of Pinckney; two step-grandchildren, Gavin and Abigal Holbrook; three brothers, John (and Mary) Philbin of Livonia, Mich., Frederick Philbin of Dearborn Heights, Mich., and Patrick (and Kathy) Philbin of Brighton, Mich.; his mother-in-law, Gina Martin (Duane Dunbar) of Jerome, Mich.&nbsp;</p>

            <description><![CDATA[<p class="p1">Leslie Christenson, 88, of Fayette, Ohio, died March 28, 2012, at home.</p>
<p class="p1">He was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Fairfield Township, Mich., the son of Lawrence and Vera (Nichols) Christenson. On Sept. 21, 1945, in Angola, Ind., he married Luella A. Raker. &nbsp;She preceded him in death Jan. 20, 2012.</p>
<p class="p1">Leslie lived in the Morenci/Lyons/Fayette area all of his life. He was a farmer and formerly employed at Morenci Rubber Products.</p>
<p class="p1">Leslie loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and gardening.</p>
<p class="p1">&nbsp;&nbsp;He is survived by a daughter, Judith (and Kenneth) Derflinger of Fayette; two sons, Tom (and Nancy) Christenson of Morenci, Mich., and Ted (and Lynne) Christenson of Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his seven “special girls,” Gwenda Eichler, Tanya Cox, Sandra Whipple, Mandi Lampley, Krystal Miles, Amy Harris and Lisa Bible.</p>
<p class="p1">Besides his wife, Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Lucinda Bennett; a sister, Ida Wagler; and a brother, Robert Christenson.</p>
<p class="p1">Funeral services are planned at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci, with Rev. Lynn Kerr officiating.&nbsp;Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.</p>
<p class="p1">Visitation is scheduled from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.</p>
