I’ve done random specials here and there when I needed a couple extra bucks. Today, I’m in a position that I need a lot more than a couple extra bucks. And I literally need it yesterday. I have nothing to pawn. Nothing to sell on eBay. All I have is my design services. So if you’ve been looking for a great deal on quality design, you’ve come to the right place.

My normal rate is $40 an hour. I’m selling 10 packages of 5 hours for $100 which is 50% off. I can not afford to sell many of these, so I have to cut it off at 10. I would be happy to extend the offer at 25% off to the end of the week after the initial 10 is met.

Projects will be scheduled in the order received.

In yesterday’s Wordless Wednesday, I posted a photo of Andrew after he and his cousin played a game of horse and rider. Andrew was the rider who got bucked off the horse and into the corner of a table. Sigh. Good times. That was about 3, maybe 4 days, before we were due to leave to come home. And of course we’re 31 hours from home. I don’t have his Medicaid card with me since it’s just rolled over to a new month. I don’t have his old Medicaid card with me because I thought it was in my day planner and it wasn’t.

I’m trying to decide if his nose is broken, because it certainly looks like it is at this point. In the end, I decided to give it a few minutes. And sure enough within an hour the crying had stopped and the swelling had already started to go down. The scabs are even gone now and he looks normal again.

Thanks, God. I appreciate it.

It’s been about 6 months since I posted over here. I thought virtual cobwebs would be easier to clear than real time cobwebs, but since I sat here just about all day yesterday trying to come up with a spectacular re-entrance into blogging life, I have to say they are just as hard to clear. Silly me.

Where have I been?

Well, that’s a little hard to put into words. I had a rough several months, both emotionally and physically. And somewhere in the midst of it, I kind of got lost. I let a lot of crap get to me, and in the end, I needed to take a break. I needed to get away from everything online that I was involved in on a regular basis.

I’m ready to get back to it though. I’ve missed my online family. And I appreciate those of you who sought me out to make sure everything was ok.

What have I been up to?

Just focusing on keeping the bills paid and spending time with the boy mostly. We did end up taking a four week trip to Georgia to see my mom, siblings, neices and nephews. It was a much needed time away. I feel refreshed and at peace now. I even got a little boost in my faith that I didn’t even know I needed.

We drove three days there and three days back. It was crazy and fun all wrapped into one. On the way there I had my oldest nephew with me. He’s my brother’s son and the only family I still have in Utah. He came along for the ride so he could visit his dad. It was good to have him come along. We were able to bond a little more. And I’m hoping he’ll visit a little more often now.

We only had to stay in a hotel one night because we were able to stay with my friend Crystal the first night. My nephew was cracking me up when he found out this would be the first time Crystal and I had actually met. He was sure we were on our way to our deaths as it must be “a 40-year-old fat guy waiting to rape us and kill us” when we got there. Thankfully he was wrong, and Crystal and her crew were awesome.

I’m sure I’ll post more about our trip later. Like I said, we were there four weeks. This could turn into a book if I try to squeeze it all into one post. For now let me just finish by saying, I’ve missed you. I hope you missed me too. I’ll try to not disappear again.

Then they put the photos up on their site. They said to have all my friends and family go vote for his creation for a chance to win. We were toward the end of the event so you have to scroll a long time to see his photo, so I’ve posted it here for you to see.

Two of the most common new year resolutions have to do with health and finances. Many people have weight loss as a number one resolution. I’ve never been big on making my own new year resolutions. I’m not even sure why. Fear of failure is probably the biggest reason. That’s the same reason I don’t participate in the goal days on my networking groups. I hate accountability. I was talking to my friend Tammy Munson about that the other night. I often keep my projects, goals, etc to myself because I don’t want anybody to know when I don’t accomplish whatever it is I want to do. Or if I don’t do it as quickly as I plan. Let’s face it, life gets in the way. I have several domains that I’m working on getting to a launch point. I hope it will be soon, but I can’t say for sure.

In the last few weeks, I’ve seen in several places where instead of coming up with new year resolutions, they are coming up with a theme for the year. I don’t remember where I originally read about this idea, but I know I’ve seen it several times since. I think that rather than come up with a list of resolutions, I’m going to come up with a theme for the year. I’ve also decided I’m going to have a theme for my business, and a theme for my personal life. So here goes…

My theme for business is going to be “Focus” and this doesn’t mean that I’m going to focus on just one thing. However, I am going to focus on being more productive with my time and I’m going to focus on getting organized so that all my ideas can flourish instead of going stale because I’m too overwhelmed to deal with them.

I’ve given my theme for my personal life a lot of thought, and after much debating and more than a few tears, I’ve decided that 2009 is going to be the year of letting go. I have been through a lot of stuff personally in the last several years. There is a lot of stress, anger and even bitterness. I’m tired of holding onto it. It’s time to let it go. The last few weeks I’ve really felt like God is telling me that it is time to let it all go. I’ll expand more on that later. Please say a prayer for me as I deal with some of this personal crap and get it out of my life once and for all.

You may or may not have seen the first school picture Andrew came home with this year. If not, check it out here.
