Version 1.1 of the Google Chrome Quicksilver plugin

I have updated the Google Chrome plugin for Quicksilver with two major functionalities, history and search engines.

The history and search engines are both available when right arrowing into Chrome:

as well as in the catalog, though disabled by default:

A few notes about the catalog entries:

As stated above, they are disabled by default, so in order to make them searchable directly in Quicksilver, you need to enable them.

The history entries inlcuded in the global catalog is limited to the 300 latest entries for cluttering and performance reasons. If you need to access all your history, right arrow into Chrome, and the history entry there will contain all of the history.

There could be a slight delay when loading all of the history. I have tested the functionality on a four year old Macbook Pro with 7000 history entries and there is only a slight delay when loading, so I think it should be acceptable.

The search entries are searchable both by their names as well as the keywords you would use in Chrome.

In addition to the history and search engines, I have also added specific functionality for URLs coming from tabs in Chrome, namely revealing the tab:

and reloading the tab:

These commands work on the URLs under “Open Web Pages” as well as the proxy object “Current Web Page (Chrome)”. That means you could set up a global trigger for reloading the current page which is quite nice when doing web development.

Google Chrome Quicksilver plugin

I have put together a plugin for accessing Chrome info and functionality in Quicksilver. I have tried to match the features of the Safari plugin as far as possible.

The 1.0.0 release of the plugin contains functionality for right arrowing into Chrome, giving you access to the current open pages and the bookmarks:

The bookmark folders will have the same name as displayed in Chrome, that’s why the folders are in Swedish in my example.

In addition to this, both the current open pages and the bookmarks are available in the catalog:

There are also two proxy objects, the current page:

and search the current site:

The next feature to add is access to the Chrome history and I’ll start working on it right away.

Version 1.5.0 of the iTerm2 Quicksilver plugin

In the new version of my plugin, I have added open in tab-alternatives to all of the iTerm actions in the plugin:

The new actions are mutual alternatives, meaning that if you select
Open
Directory in iTerm
and press ⌘↩, it will open in a new tab, and if you use
Open Directory in iTerm Tab
and press ⌘↩, it will open in a new terminal.

As you can see in the image, the tab variants are disabled by default. The reason for this is I did not want to clutter the action list more than necessary, and as stated above, the new actions are reachable by ⌘↩.

Should you want to open in tabs “by default”, just disable the normal commands and enable the tab commands. Or enable them both.

I have also added a tab variant for opening sessions:

I actually released a 1.4.0 version with just the session action, but just as I had built and uploaded the release to GitHub, I realized that I might as well add alternatives for all the other actions, so I didn’t bother annoncing it.

I have no ideas for further development as of now, so this release is going to stick for a while.

The sessions can (as of now) be opened in a terminal window. I have plans to add actions for opening in new tabs.

I also refactored my code a bit. Since this is my first Objective C project, I’m still getting a feel for how to structure my code.
