There is a wide selection of Steampunk goggles available on the internet. Some are good, some are great, and some are just cheap Chinese plastic costume pieces. Personally I prefer the craftsmanship I see in one of a kind handmade goggles.

Don’t get me wrong though. There are plenty of so-called artists that are cranking out junk just to make a quick buck off of the short-lived need of “I just want a Steampunk costume for the party” buyer.

So I decided to make a list of handmade Steampunk goggles that I think meet the mark for craftsmanship, artistry and creativity. In other words the title may have read “The 10 Steampunk Goggles That I Like the Most” So here they are.

This set of goggles implements an antique pocket watch and additional jewelers magnifier lenses. The leather is waxed and will wear to take a more interesting patina as it’s used. I like how the use of screws was implemented when fastening the leather to the metal. It adds a level of detail that pulls it away from the typical riveted look that everyone expects.

I love it when artist buys my steampunk art supplies and use them in their projects. Every time I sell an order I invite my customer to send pictures of their creations. Surprisingly I only receive this kind of feedback for about 1 in 200 orders. Most often the designs I see are pretty good. But when I received Andrea’s message and pictures I was totally stoked! Here is one of the steampunk masks that Andrea created implementing some of my supplies.

This slide show is continually updated with Andrea’s new masks. I have seen some new designs that include rabbits, cats, owls and octopus. Her leather work is amazing and as she hones her skills as an artist her masks are becoming even more beautiful.

Stupendous steampunk masks made by Merimask using Steampunk Art Supplies

This is the largest batch of 16gb and 32bg Steampunk usb thumb drives I have made to date. This time I managed to use some ultra bright LED’s. I’ve incorporated the colors red, blue, green, purple and orange into these little vacuum tube beauties.

I used brass steam pipe fittings, HP USB drives, Ultra high power LED diodes from Radio Shack and vintage spent vacuum tubes. I use various methods to fasten all of the part and pieces together. The LED is soldered, that vacuum tubes are glued using high temp commercial hot glue and the USB drive and housing is fastened with JB weld.

The process is slow and tedious because of all the the glues. They can be messy and the dry times are long. But in the end they always seem to come out okay.

Steampunk USB Drives 16gb and 32gb USB Thumb Drives

This Steampunk ceiling light is amazing. Andrew has incorporated mahogany, vacuum tubes, pocket watch parts, steam valves, steam gauges and antique style light bulbs in his design.

I like the way the vacuum tube are mounted around the edge of this Steampunk light fixture. This piece is so well done that it could easily be a prop on Steampunk movie set.
