Le biciclette conquistano New York?

Sta per essere lanciato il programma City Bike, in pratica un noleggio automatico di biciclette con punti di noleggio in tutta la città.
Le biciclette ancora non ci sono ma i punti di scambio sono stati già realizzati.
Avremo così altri ciclisti per strada, altre corsie preferenziali per loro, una intera città modificata per le biciclette che intanto scorrazzano liberamente sui marciapiedi, contro mano, incuranti dei semafori, per la gioa dei pedoni che sembrano essere diventati il nemico della città.

25 dollari di vergogna

Per entrare a vedere il museo dedicato all'11 settembre bisognerà pagare, pare 25 dollari. Le famiglie delle persone uccise nell'attentato saranno esentate.
A New York è comune che i costruttori paghino per la manutenzione di spazi pubblici adiacenti o inclusi nei loro edifici, lo stesso poteva essere fatto per Ground Zero e sicuramente donazioni private avrebbero aiutato.
E' l'ennesima vergogna della storia della ricostruzione di Ground Zero dove si è impiegato oltre 12 anni per fare quello che poteva essere fatto in pochi anni, in un infinito balletto che ha coinvolto miliardi di di dollari.
Ma adesso si chiede alle gente di pagare.

Salami a ruota libera negli USA

Dal prossimo 28 maggio libero all'ingresso in Usa per i salumi italiani (incluso, pancette, coppe, etc) mentre il prosciutto era già importabile. Le autorità statunitense Aphis (Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service) hanno infatti ufficialmente stabilito che le regioni Lombardia, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Piemonte e le province di Trento e Bolzano sono ritenute indenni dalla malattia vescicolare del Suino, "scusa" con la quale per anni i salumi italiani sono stati banditi dagli USA.
Gli esportatori italiani sembrano sicuri che potranno finalmente sconfiggere le imitazioni nate nel frattempo, ma io sono scettico.
Infatti il prosciutto Made in Italy non è riuscito ad eradicare quello prodotto in Canad ce negli USA e inoltre alcune note aziende italiane producono già salumi negli USA usando il marchio italiano,
Vedremo che succederà.

Rimborsi fiscali

Vi racconto l'ultima sull'America e su come ancora non è diventata "Europa".

Dichiarazione fiscale presentata il 7 aprile, con richiesta di rimborso delle imposte sul reddito (equivalenti all'IRPEF) pagate in eccesso.
Rimborso arrivato con assegno via posta il 22 aprile.
Totale 15 giorni.
E pensare che avevano detto che ci quest'anno ci sarebbero stati ritardi.

Proprio come in Italia.

Il presidente del Gei (Gruppo Esponenti Italiani), Lucio Caputo ha dato il benvenuto al ristorante Le Cirque al nuovo direttore esecutivo dellIce negli Stati Uniti, Pier Paolo Celeste.
Celeste era già stato a New York alla fine degli anni ottanta - inizio anni novanta con la carica di vice direttore dellIce.
A dargli il benvenuto rappresentanti del mondo italiano della finanza e dell'imprenditoria italiana a New York.
Tra le autorità. il console generale a New York Natalia Quintavalle e lambasciatore Antonio Bernardini della missione italiana alle Nazioni Unite.
A Celeste il presidente del GEI Lucio Caputo ha consegnato il tradizionale Gei Friendship Award.

Celeste ha detto di essere molto emozionato a tornare a New York,una città che ama molto ma anche molto impegnativa,

Tea le sue strategie, continuare ad investire nei settori dove il prodotto italiano è considerato il migliore, ma anche in quelli dove l'America ci considera ancora leader, come quelli delle energie rinnovabili, biotecnologia, settore aerospaziale, e telecomunicazioni con l'obiettivo di aumentare considerevolmente le esportazioni negli USA nei prossimi due anni.

Aniello Musella lascia New York dopo otto anni

Aniello Musella, direttore dell'ufficio dell'Italian Trade Commission (Ice) a New York ritorna a Roma dopo otto anni nella Big Apple.

Non ho mai capito perchè dopo che qualcuno si è ambientato e lavora bene in un posto lo trasferiscono, ma è così che vanno le cose e dispiace, specie nel caso di Aniello.

Il Console Generale Natalia Quintavalle gli ha conferito l'Onorificenza di Cavaliere dellOrdine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana e Lucio Caputo, Presidente del Gei, una targa ricordo, ma credo che ad Aniello abbia soprattutto colpito l'abbraccio di pubblico per una persona gentile, direi umile, efficiente, senza la puzza sotto il naso che a volte altri anno, qualità che gli ha fatto conquistare veri amici, non amici per convenienza.

Come dico sempre: tutte le strade portano a Roma, ma tutti gli aeroporti portano a New York.

Besame Mucho is a documentary project about domestic violence against women. It attempts to analyze the mindset of abusive men and the underlying mental processes triggering them to perpetrate physical and psychological violence against women.
Nobody was born an abuser. However, cultural pressures, socio-economic contexts and family history may exacerbate the development of the personality traits of the abuser.
An abuser usually is an insecure person, with a very low level of self-esteem. Usually he presents himself as a charming prince - no one is an abuser on the first date - in fact, the first date seems a model of a fabulous traditional fairytale.
the abuser overwhelms you with a load of absolute enveloping love that becomes tidal in no time. The first phase is the seduction, isolation is the second and then the deconstruction of the personality of the victim.
Because of his mental instability and in order to keep a morbid equilibrium, the abuser needs to use physical and/or psychological violence against his partner. This suffocates her personality, needs, and undermines her confidence.
Such behavioral patterns do not contribute to the abusers happiness and well-being, nevertheless they become for him the only way to conceive his own life. The abuser is not a social monster but an individual affected by a personality disorder. We do not find abusers only among the poor and uneducated people from the lower class: family circles of wealthy and highly educated people may also be the theatre of even more complex and subtle cases of abuse.
Domestic violence against women is an internationally wide spread phenomena that equally involves different races, cultural groups, right wing as well as left wing people with similar mechanisms, modus operandi, and stubborn wickedness. It inevitably leads the victimized women to the same blind sorrow, the same alienation, confusion and fear.
Paradoxically, the harmful urge of an abuser is the result of an endless request for love, a need of reassurance of his ego-manic confidence, the quest for filling up an unimaginable affective void. Thus, identifying the abuser as an emotionally bulimic man, to which no real woman can offer a compensation for his unreal needs, may offer a viable key to interpret the vicious circles of domestic violence.

It wants to be the endeavour to realize that until the causes of the masculine uneasiness will not fully understood, women wellness will never be fully archieved.
The primary aim of this documentary is to ask questions and propose answers about the aspects of the masculine identity that may lead to the profile of an abuser.
Interviews to therapists, officers of the NYPD for domestic violence, lawyers involved in abuse cases, representatives of UN Women Org., and academics in the field of gender studies at the University of Berkeley will provide a general sketch of the phenomena of domestic violence, we want to ask Noam Chomsky to explain the concept of verbal violence.
Interviews will be made to the Womens Building in San Francisco, including several souls under one roof to deal with the health status of women.
Most importantly, interviews to ex-abusers who, committing themselves on a recovery path, recognized their personality disorder as the main source of their women misery, will allow to define the hallmarks of the abuser and the healing way from it.
With this documentary, we want to have a cathartic view showing a model: a personal model, talking with men, that father realizing to have a problem, they have faced and defeated it. And a social model, as the American model (legal, cultural and practical) response to domestic violence seems to us a very effective model.

Besame Mucho was born on the Internet. Roberto and I met through Twitter.
It seemed natural to think of a production with kickstarter and that is what we will do, for a lot of different reasons.
First of all, not having a single producer is refreshing and liberating. I spoke to two classic producers and both were interested in producing Besame Mucho as long as our documentary shows weeping women displaying fresh bruises, as long as we work with biblical themes, as long we lower our claims. In short, as long as we do a different documentary.
Well, we prefer to have lots of producers and to answer to the people who will finance us directly. We much prefer this mode of financing than having to polish here and there in order to fit into a pattern of predictable narrative and content that we dont agree with.
While that would be reason enough to make a production such as this, it additionally forces us to validate our ideas against reality from the start. If you cannot explain to most people what you want to accomplish, it will be difficult to get it done.
Using the internet gives us the opportunity to be independent and to work quickly and to avoid our idea becoming stale. The internet also gives us the freedom to realize our vision. And if that vision changes along the way, it wont be because of some outside pressures.
Our budget will be transparent; everyone working on this project will be paid. We will continue to take turns, working impossible hours to coordinate our sessions on Skype and we will continue to steamroll onward each day, sending updates in real time.
No one will play just one role in this project, but at least three each.
And to us, this seems the best method of production.

Ive always been interested in technologies, travel, photography and videography.
For more than 10 years, I worked in IT, specialising in web design and telecommunication.
In 2008 I organized photography and art exhibitions and staged installations with hardware art I created.From 2009 on, I combined my passion for travel with my passion for motorbikes travelling around Western Europe, Northern Maghreb and the Sahara Desert. Nepal and India are also among the destinations I visited. From these trips to Asia I develop a reportage about the poorest people in the region, from the ones living in leper colonies to the miners and their villages. Ultimi giorni per rientrare nell'amnistia?

Come avevo annunciato da tempo su questo sito, sta arrivando la sanatoria per gli immigrati illegali, definita naturalmente "riforma" del sistema.

Ecco dunque che molti si preparano, attraversando illegalmente il confine, per essere qui quando scatta,

Non si sanno infatti ancora i criteri con cui si concederanno i visti, che poi diventeranno carta verde e infine cittadinanza, ma molti pensano che bisognerà essere qui e dimostrare, ad esempio, di essere stati negli Usa per un certo numero di anni.

Ma dato quello che buoni avvocati sono capaci di fare, e il fatto che un illegale può dire di aver dormito in una camera di un amico, non avere mai avuto una bolletta per servizi e quindi solo testimonianze di amici parenti riguardo alla sua residenza, è possibile che persone che sono state qui solo per pochi mesi riescano a far credere che invece siano stati qui per anni.

Vista che la motivazione per l'amnistia sembra essere soprattutto l'assicurarsi il voto ispanico, credo che alla fine la legge sarà un gran pasticcio.

Resta ancora da capire cosa accadrà a chi ha ottenuto legalmente un visto o a chi si appresta a richiederlo: Saranno "parificati" agli illegali e quindi potranno essere inseriti nel percorso per la cittadinanza o ne saranno esclusi proprio perché non possono dimostrare, di essere stati negli USA come illegali?

Alcuni giorni fa avevo scritto un articolo su come Michelle Obama sarebbe stata la candidata alla presdenza al posto di Hillary Clinton.

Adesso arriva un'ipotesi molto interessante sull'accordo che sarebbe stato siglato tra Hillary e il presidente: Hillary e Michelle Obama correrebbero insieme per la presidenza appoggiate dai rispettivi mariti.
