I don’t see why some things are just so “important” to people. Like the news. Who cares if the President went to Chicago or if there was a bank robbery in some town? Perhaps local news, sure. Who cares what happened in the Civil War. Sure we should learn about it but is there any sort of necessity to having a Civil War debate? Who cares about politics. Why bother arguing about it at the dinner table when that dinner table argument would change nothing? Who cares about what a cargo ship looks like or “internet” stuff as the boyfriend likes to call it.

Sometimes, when I see someone putting passion into something, it makes me resentful. Perhaps it’s because I really don’t have the same kind of passion as they do. And perhaps it is the fact that I can become mildly interested in something and enjoy doing something but I don’t have “extensive” interests in talking about it every single Sunday dinner. Perhaps I’m apathetic but I just find a lot of things so pointless.

What is my malfunction? Is it that I’m not smart enough to see the value in things majority of people care about? Is it because I think one person can’t make a difference? Probably. How do I fix it? I don’t know.

Now about work, I don’t know how common it is to work with someone in charge and feel like they’re not knowledgeable enough to be the one taking lead on a project. You don’t want to straight up say “You don’t know your stuff” but at the same time, that’s exactly what you want to say. I’m really too nice to really want to intentionally insult anyone I work with. I always attempt to have a good working relationship with my coworkers and the higher ups.

What annoys me is when people that don’t know about something try and take charge. I feel oppressed because I want to take a product to the next level and do it right the first time. I want to eliminate the extra steps for a blog that this person is creating with hardcoding something instead of making it dynamic. In a way, I’m saying I hate being told I can’t do something when I really can. I’m really pretty much at the grunt level at work. All the stuff I’ve been doing lately, I volunteer to help out with because I enjoy it. However, as much as I enjoy it, it becomes much less enjoyable to go that extra mile to help a coworker out when I constantly feel like they need to be in control of every single aspect when they really don’t know anything.

However, going through some of the responses while entering in my own response was kind of an eye opener, to say the least.

Is it just me as a lady or is it just sort of a put off when you find out that someone have had sexual contact with 12 people? Or the higher number on the list, 24?

Most can say it really depends on age. But this age group was early to mid-20′s and it just surprises me on how… sexual people are these days.

Right before taking this picture, I was holding her and playing around with her. This random lady sitting at the same table was like “Wow, you are very good with babies.”

What does one say to something like that? Like would I really be handling a baby (let alone my cousin’s kid) if I knew I’d be terrible at holding a baby?

Aside from cleaning the apartment up, I also went through my Google Reader and cleaned out my RSS feeds. This is where I bring you to blogging and over-posting. I feel it’s rather more impersonal to use an RSS feed to keep up with blogs but it’s so convenient. However, I feel that most sites are running some sort of analytics so if there’s a post that really pulls me in, I’ll click on it so they can see “HEY SOMEONE IS LOOKING AT MY BLOG!” However, and this is a big however, if I can’t keep up with someone’s blog by reading my reader 4-5 times a week (averaging once a day), I lose interest in keeping up.

I think this is more reinforced if you’re posting 1000 word posts every time and doing it 3-4 times a day. To be fair, it’s not that I don’t care what you have to say. It just starts to become more “Augh, I just don’t have time to keep up with that posting rate.” I’m sure somewhere down the line, I’ll visit that blog again and resubscribe and all that. But Google reader is the “I want something to entertain me” sort of place and blogs do that. I enjoy hearing from strangers (basically) and sharing a piece of their life with the world. However, posting rate does matter to me I guess. And knowing what the hell they’re talking about also helps I suppose. :P

Anyways, just a few thoughts since I haven’t posted in a while. Any feedback is definitely welcomed. :)

I would love to just say, man is a freaking genius, has wonderful insight on office life and while I don’t want to BE him, I want to BE him. It’s been said to me that if you work in any sort of office, you will love Dilbert. I work in an office. I LOVE DILBERT. It really doesn’t matter what kind of office you work in, the life of working in an office is pretty much the same wherever you go. And if you work in a hip office, don’t worry, it’ll get dull eventually. Those Friday beers in office before happy hour will probably disappear. Happy hour on the company card will probably disappear. However, I never cared too much for Happy Hour. I spend enough time with my coworkers 5 days a week. I don’t need to spend Friday evening with them unless it’s a party. A SERIOUS party…

Back to the book…

I love the chapter on pretending to work. I don’t care if you’re the saint of all office workers, but we’ve ALL done that. Alt-tab exists for reasons. Why do people have those multiple desktop programs? Because we’re pretending we’re working on something important, boss walks away, switch desktop. OH SHIT HE’S BACK, switch. Then when he comes to talk to you about something or review something, you always know he’s examining EVERY window. The less not-work-related shit you have up, the better. What he doesn’t know is that you’re hiding a desktop, am I right?

Not really.

The “How do you know your company is doomed” is definitely one I can seriously relate to. If all were facts, my company is pretty much doomed. You’ll definitely have to (and should) read the book for further information and analysis. I don’t want to give away all the details of the book. It’ll be your worthwhile to read it if you’re looking for a good read and humor.

Yes, eating out does get old. Yes, food is the way to a man’s heart. I want to be a great home cook!

This one here was made with the leftover potato that didn’t fit into the dish above. Some butter, olive oil, garlic pepper, and salt. Should try this! It’s delicious!
