<p>These enameled structures are embedded in the maxillary bone and mandible.</p>
<p>Enamel is a semitranslucent calcium crystal.</p>
<p>The crystalline structure of enamel accounts not only for the tooth&#8217;s great strength, but also for its brittleness.</p>
<p>Teeth, therefore, are the hardest structures in the body. </p>
<p>Two separate and distinct sets of teeth develop in the body.</p>
<p>The first set, the deciduous or baby teeth, normally starts to appear at about six months of age.</p>
<p>The second set, the permanent teeth, normally starts to appear at about six years of age.</p>
<p>In the first set there are 20 deciduous teeth, in the second set there are 32 permanent teeth.</p>
<p>In the embryo, baby teeth start to form between the sixth and eighth week of gestation.</p>
<p>Permanent teeth begin to form in the twentieth week of gestation.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Hypoglossal Nerve &#8211; Boundaries in the Psyche: The hypoglossal nerve, also known as cranial nerve XII, is the twelfth of twelve paired nerves that exit the cranium.</p>
<p>Due of its final destination, the hypoglossal nerve is named after the Latin phrase for &#8220;under the tongue&#8221;. </p>
<p>Originating on the brain stem, the hypoglossal nerve exits through the cranium, then passes down along the carotid arteries and then spirals down behind the vagus nerve. </p>
<p>The hypoglossal nerve winds its way to the submandibular region and then enters the tongue from underneath.</p>
<p>The human tongue has eight muscles, four are intrinsic and four are extrinsic.</p>
<p>The four intrinsic muscles act to change the shape of the tongue, and are not attached to any bone. </p>
<p>The four extrinsic muscles act to change the position of the tongue and are anchored to bone.</p>
<p>All intrinsic and three extrinsic muscles of the tongue are supplied by the hypoglossal nerve.</p>
<p>The hypoglossal nerve supplies motor fibres to the muscles of the tongue.</p>
<p>All the muscles of the tongue are striated and therefore voluntary.</p>
<p>Voluntary control requires conscious thought.</p>
<p>Swallowing is an involuntary action intiated by the voluntary movements of the tongue.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Vagus Nerve &#8211; The Intuitive Reporter: The vagus nerve, cranial nerve X, is the tenth of twelve paired nerves that exit the cranium.</p>
<p>Because of its long and winding path the vagus nerve was named after the Latin word for wanderer. </p>
<p>Originating on the brain stem, the vagus nerve exits through the cranium, then passes down along the carotid arteries, enters the thorax and descends on the aortic arch. </p>
<p>Vagal fibers then enter the lower part of the esophagus and penetrate into the diaphragm.</p>
<p>The vagus nerve then blends fibers into the cardiac and pulmonary neural networks. </p>
<p>The vagus nerve then descends further into the abdomen and sends out branches to all the visceral organs except the adrenal glands. </p>
<p>This means that this single nerve influences heart rate, swallowing, peristalsis, speech, breathing and sweating as well as many other processes.</p>
<p>In spite of these numerous and widely diversified motor activities, the majority of the vagus nerve&#8217;s neural activity is sensory.</p>
<p>The vagus nerve reports a vast amount of sensory information about the status of the visceral organs to the central nervous system. </p>
<p>Since the vagus nerve is parasympathetic in nature and sensory it slows down and keeps track of the visceral organs.</p>
<p>The vagus nerve has an overall effect of slowing down the viscera. </p>
<p>The vagus nerve can easily bring about unconsciousness.</p>
<p>From a subconscious self point of view, the vagus nerve reports the sensory world of the viscera.</p>
<p>From a subconscious self point of view, the vagus nerve reports on the intuition.</p>
<p>From a traumatized subconscious self point of view, there is an excessive rationality in the psyche.</p>
<p>From a traumatized subconscious self point of view, intuition is not honored in the psyche.</p>
<p>When the subconscious self is empty, the mind and intuition operate seamlessly.</p>

<p>The adrenal medulla, the core of the adrenal gland, produces epinephrine and norepinephrine.</p>
<p>Epinephrine and norepinephrine make the heart beat faster.</p>

<p>From a subconscious self point of view, the adrenal glands externalize awareness.</p>

<p>When the subconscious self is empty, the body is at rest in activity.</p>

<p>The spinal cord, however, does not travel down the entire length of the vertebral column.</p>
<p>The spinal cord extends down from the cranium and ends coned-shaped, the conus medullaris, at the level of the 2nd lumbar vertebra.</p>
<p>After the spinal cord tapers out, the spinal nerves continue as dangling roots called the cauda equina, the &#8220;horse&#8217;s tail&#8221;.</p>
<p>The spinal cord is enveloped loosely by a tough covering called the dura mater.</p>
<p>The dura mater continues just past the conus medularis and condenses into a tough thread, the filum terminale.</p>
<p>The filum terminale continues down through the cauda equina, through the sacrum, and anchors itself at the tip of the coccyx.</p>
<p>It therefore physically stabilizes the spinal cord in the vertebral column.</p>
<p>The spinal cord essentially has two way electrical traffic along its length.</p>
<p>Motor information travels down the ventral part, the front part, of the spinal cord.</p>
<p>Sensory information travels up the dorsal part, the back part, of the spinal cord.</p>
<p>So the body has a central electrical circuit of up the back and down the front, sensory to motor, sensory to motor.</p>
<p>This cyclical pattern resembles a wheel rolling forward.</p>
<p>From a subconscious self point of view, the spinal cord produces an electrical cycle.</p>
<p>From a subconscious self point of view, the spinal cords cycles forward through time.</p>
<p>From a traumatized subconscious self point of view, there is time paralysis in the psyche.</p>
<p>From a traumatized subconscious self point of view, completing the past is not honored in the psyche.</p>
<p>When the subconscious self is empty, there is time completion in the psyche.</p>
<p>When the subconscious self is empty, the spinal cord&#8217;s electrical circuit cycles freely.</p>

<p>The signal proceeds through the cerebellar system, from input to output, with very little recurrent internal transmission. </p>
<p>This feedforward mode of operation means that the cerebellum, in contrast to the cerebral cortex, cannot generate closed loops of neural activity. </p>
<p>Signals enter the cerebellum, are then processed at each stage in sequential order, and then leave. </p>
<p>What the rest of the nervous system seems to require from the cerebellum is presumably not deliberation but rather a rapid, clear and precise response to the input.</p>
<p>The cerebellar system is functionally divided into independent modules, which may number in the thousands. </p>
<p>Each module has a similar internal architecture of parallel arrays.</p>
<p>The cerebellum is also designed as a divergence-convergence system. </p>
<p>In each module, information from 200 million inputs are internally expanded to 40 billion parallel branching outputs that then converge onto 15 million neurons.</p>
<p>Eventually, this convergence focuses down down to a group of less than 50 deep nuclear cells.</p>
<p>Thus, each independent cerebellar network receives a modest number of inputs, processes them very extensively through an enormous parallel array, and then sends out the results via a very limited number of output cells.</p>
<p>Additionally, the influence of each parallel fiber on those nuclear cells is adjustable. </p>
<p>This arrangement gives an immense flexibility for fine-tuning the relationship between cerebellar inputs and outputs.</p>

<p>The cerebral ventricles are four large interconnected and fluid-filled chambers in the interior brain.</p>
<p>Cerebrospinal fluid is produced by the choroid plexus, a series of feathery structures in the ventricles.</p>
<p>Cerebrospinal fluid flows out from the interior ventricles through tiny canals to envelop the brain and spinal cord. </p>
<p>The cerebrospinal fluid flows all the way down in the vertebral column to the lumbar cistern, a fluid filled space beyond the end of the spinal cord.</p>
<p>The brain and spinal cord are covered by a series of tough membranes called meninges. </p>
<p>The innermost membrane is called the pia mater. The middle layer is called the arachnoid mater and the outermost, the dura mater.</p>
<p>The cerebrospinal fluid flows between between the pia mater and the arachnoid mater.</p>
<p>Cerebrospinal fluid is reabsorbed into the venous ciculation via the arachnoid layer.</p>
<p>The cerebrospinal fluid rinses the metabolic waste from the brain and spinal cord through the blood-brain barrier. </p>

<p>From a traumatized subconscious self point of view, the cerebrospinal fluid rinses insanity out of the brain and spinal cord.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cranial Nerve VIII &#8211; Reorienting Water: The vestibulocochlear nerve, the eighth cranial nerve, transmits sound and balance from the inner ear to the brain. </p>
<p>The vestibulocochlear nerve develops in the embryo from a thickened disc on the ectodermal surface of the head.</p>
<p>The vestibule is the central part of the inner ear.</p>
<p>The inner ear is fluid-filled.</p>
<p>The vestibule is in between the cochlea and the semi-circular canals.</p>
<p>The sound-perceiving cochlea is nautilus-shaped.</p>
<p>The balance-perceiving semi-circular canals are spatially oriented in three different planes.</p>
<p>Internally, both the cochlea and semi-circularw canals have hair cells. </p>
<p>These inner hair cells are responsible for the translation of sound or spatial position into neural transmission.</p>
<p>With sound or movement these hairs undulate like seaweed.</p>
<p>Therefore, the perception of sound and balance are water-based.</p>
<p>The cochlea, vestibule and semi-circular canals are situated spatially in such a way as to give rise to a point of awareness.</p>
<p>This point of awareness relates to the same point of awareness generated by the eyes and optic nerves.</p>
<p>From a subconscious self point of view, the vestibulocochlear nerve generates balance and hearing.</p>
<p>From a traumatized subconscious self point of view, the vestibulocochlear nerve cannot generate a balanced sense of listening.</p>
<p>From a traumatized subconscious self point of view, the psyche is compelled to interpret rather than listen.</p>
