Last weekend my family came to visit for little liv's blessing and while we were at the park i talked my sister into letting me take some pictures of her. She's so beautiful! She'll be 13 in a couple of months!!! A teenager. I can't believe it.

Well, i finally had a few minutes to look at them and so here's a preview of our shoot and there's more to come! :)

as for a little update on our little family...

L is officially "terrible" in his "terrible twos!"- he's throwing things, kicking, hitting, spitting, refusing to take a nap, comes into our room at 5 AM wanting cereal and will only eat chicken nuggets and mac & cheese for lunch and dinner!! We might have to have Super-nanny come save us...or send him to Grammy or Mimi's house until he's 3!!!

Little liv is getting the chunky cheeks that L had when he was her age (pics coming soon...i'm really being lazy and don't want to find them on my external hard drive)

She is sleeping like a champ at night...usually 6-7 hours at a stretch and she's even gone 8 hrs a few times! We wake up and rush to her room to make sure she's still breathing. Ah, sleeping even 6 hours is wonderful.

But, it would be nice if I could stop having nightmare dreams... like laying in a hospital bed feeling like I'm being choked to death and running down the dark hospital hall trying to scream HELP or find anyone to help me...Yeah, i know, pretty freaky huh?! Luckily R woke me up because i was trying to scream in my sleep. I did not want to fall back asleep after that one!

I really want (and think i need) a double jogging stroller...i think my pants are shorter because my bum is so big! ha!! really though, i can't scrunch the two kiddies in the stroller we have now without L squishing O's legs and having both of them cry/whine the whole way up the hill to the park! not fun.

Christmas is just 6 weeks away....(hint hint...R if you're reading this, which I highly doubt!)

Well, our little hungry hippo needs to be fed again. It's funny that we get everything ready so that right when we lay her down, we can just jump right into bed to get the most sleep we possibly can! (especially since the L monster is waking up at 5 AM for cereal)

(it's funny because I'm making this same face as a newborn in my scrapbook...she looks ALOT like me when I was a baby. I'll have to get my scanner working and post a side by side!)

i thought i would have some time to spare to make this announcement

after her birth...boy was i WRONG!!! :)

Now tomorrow she is already ONE month old! I can't believe it.

We're loving...

hearing her little grunts and sighs

dressing her in 3 month clothes (she's already outgrown her newborn stuff...sad!)

watching her stretch out her neck so we can see under her 3 chins!

how L gives her the sweetest, most gentle kisses on the head

hearing "HI-SISTER!!!" whenever she comes in the room where L is

when she sleeps 5 hours straight at night...yippee!

hearing "When sister big play soccer, hockey, football, volleyball!?" from L constantly

snuggling and rocking in Pop's old recliner

when L goes to Mimi's and Poppa's house to play for the afternoon!

when big brother helps...L loves to get sisters diapers, wipes and pat her on the back to burp

sister's crazy head of hair that we can already put a Barret in!

a sleeping baby when we get in the truck...she loves going for a ride!

when both L and O are down for a nap AT THE SAME TIME...it's heaven! :)

Life is sweet and wonderful and at times very hard with two little ones now. Thanks for all the love and support we have from our family and friends!

I can't believe she's here...and she's a chunk!!!

Her name comes from two of her Great Great Grandma's on my side of the family...we've had her name picked out since we found out we were having a girl...and some of us are already calling her by her nickname "Liv".

We love her to pieces and we feel so blessed to have this little girl in our family.

She is a sweetheart!

L LOVES her and is so cute when I see him touch her very gently on the hand or give her a sweet kiss. He's thrown a few tantrums, but I know that this too shall pass...I hope!

Everything went very well {so thankful we only had to push for 10 minutes!!} and we both felt good enough to come home yesterday! Hard days ahead, but trying to enjoy them the best I can! :) Thanks for all your love and support!

like crap for the past week

hopefully getting over this darn sinus congestion SOON

and to top it off a lovely yeast infection (just what you wanted to read about!)

but...

the end is in sight

i'm not going to be pregnant forever, after all!

my last weeks appointment I was almost 3cm and 70% effaced

YIPPEE!

and we are scheduled to be started on monday (2 whole days away!!)

i had to be started anyway with L even after my water broke, and was a week late so I have decided to be started early.

i'm nervous about it, wondering if it's really what I should do

but excited to get things going and finally see our baby sister!

i'll post pix as soon as i can....

Project Overload!

I love having a project to work on!

I think I got that from my Dad...except his projects include remodeling old jeeps and broncos!

It's been SOOOO much fun making things for our baby sister, but really hard not to go crazy in the fabric store. I've still got a few pieces of fabric that are so fun, but I don't quite know what to do with them yet...maybe a few more burpies or bibs?!

I finally decided to give my bedroom a little makeover. For awhile now, I wanted to find some orange fabric and make a duvet for our bed. I found the fabric online on a big sale, so I made this for way cheaper than what I could of bought one for.

I love it...every time I walk into our room it's so bright and cheerful!

I think I want to throw in a touch of green somewhere....some throw pillows or ???

I bought this Amy Butler pattern book after seeing the cute diaper bags my SIL and her sister made out of it! Let me tell you though, I hated every minute of this project! Swollen ankles from standing too long ironing on stupid interfacing and messing up on a few things in the pattern because, well, patterns confuse me and I don't like using them AT ALL! Now that it's finished, I do love it!!

I added a few extra things to it that the pattern didn't include:

a place to hook my keys...because I can never find them

an extra pocket just the right size for my cell phone...because I can never find it

and a button with a loop on the front to close it up if I want

Oooo I just love all the pockets!!

I have seen these car seat canopies all over the place and think they are the best idea! I attached mine with Velcro, and it seems to still work great. That way I can take it off and use it as a cover up during feeding time or an extra blankie in the future when we're not using it as a canopy!

I also thought matching shoulder pads would be fun....

My Mom came to visit a few months ago and we had a sewing day! It was so fun. She made baby sister these cute burpies bellow!! Thanks Mom, they are so cute!

(and only cost $1.50 each to make!!)

I think these would make great baby gifts all rolled up like this with ribbon around them...

This is the first blankie I made for baby sister! It's out of Amy Butler fabric on one side and the coziest, softest minkie on the other side! I just might have to make one big enough for me!!!

And finally, the blankie below is the official "baby sister's blankie" (as L calls it...as he gets all soft and squishy and wants to cuddle in it...the cutest thing in the world...can't wait to have both my babies snuggled up in it)....

I saw a similar quilt like this one in a fabric store in town and fell in LOVE with it! I just love the colors and pattern so much. They were all out of the fabric for it though, so I began searching the Internet for it and eventually FOUND it!!! It's from the Swanky collection by Chez Moi for Moda.

I had done binding before on a quilt, but had forgotten how to do it...so I found Heather Bailey's instructions and this video helpful. If you need some help with binding, check these out!! :)

and now, I'm twiddling my fingers wondering what to do with myself!! HA! :)

I am actually going to try to enjoy these last few weeks of being pregnant and HOT... maybe lots of relaxing in the pool, reading, and hopefully getting someone to paint my toenails!

(btw...i had another doctor visit this morning and I'm still at 2 cm/50%...dang!!)

Adventure on a Saturday night...

Around 6:30 last night R wanted to take L out behind our house and "go for a ride!" we had seen some people down by the river earlier-STUCK!

but I didn't think anything of it....

and I didn't think they'd be gone long (maybe 30 minutes),

so I said I would start dinner and have it ready by the time they got home.

About 30 minutes went by and I called R...

They were STUCK!!

We called everyone we knew that had a truck and finally some friends came to the rescue!!

but that's just the beginning....

3 of the friends that came to the rescue ALSO got stuck!

AND it began to RAIN and lightning and thunder outside!

At least L was a happy camper during the whole thing!

R said he would keep asking him "Dada...we stuck?"

I felt helpless at home where I was watching from our back patio with an umbrella and binoculars in hand (and chicken grilling to a crisp on the grill)....

I really didn't feel like it was a good idea to just waddle down there in the dark

and carry L back home!

Finally one of our rescuers wives (bless her heart!!) drove L up to me.

But he was very sad that Daddy was still down by the river!

I tried to feed L some dinner, but he wouldn't eat a thing. So we got ready for bed...

And....

R was finally home!!

AND THEN....

20 minutes after R got home we heard L crying in his room.

We went in to check on him and he had thrown up all over his bed!

{no wonder he didn't want to eat any dinner! poor thing.}

We think it must have been too much of an adventure for him!

What a night!!

Quite an adventure compared to our usual nights!

Thanks to our rescuers for all your help...you're the best!

{R made them his favorite cookies today and is out delivering them...what a guy!}

Baby sister's head is down REALLY LOW and it's painful to walk!!

Photography workshop!!!

this is how bad i've been at keeping up with my blog!

i took a photography workshop a few months ago and these cute little pictures have been sitting on a disc, on the shelf, ever since! i finally stayed up later than usual (ok. it was 12:30 am) the other night and looked at them and played with them a little in photoshop.

i would really love to do more photography! i had a lot of fun at this workshop and learned a lot, but also learned that practice is everything! i hope i can remember what i learned and keep on practicing!! :)

one of the things that was so fun about this workshop was the LOCATIONS of these amazing little hole in the wall places...that one wouldn't think to take pictures in front of.

my favorite location is actually one that we can't go back to because the owners only allowed this workshop to be done there but didn't want anyone coming back to it! SAD!

oh, well...i keep my eyes open for interesting places to take photos and hopefully i'll find something like it someday! one of the things i didn't enjoy about this workshop was that i was pregnant and HOT and couldn't really "get down and dirty" for some cool angles....and that they really didn't think about women that have to PEE! (good thing lil' ol' towns up yonder have at least one local grocer with a potty!)

well, hope you enjoy a few that i took...

i'm 33 weeks today and i feel HUGE!!!

the shirt i'm wearing is bursting at the seams,

okay not really,

but i wouldn't wear it in public!

i'm waddling around like i'm due next week and i ache all over the place...hopefully baby girl isn't going to be a 10 pounder!! (L was 7 lb 2 oz)

i'm finally able to get some sleep thanks to half of an Ambien each night. R tells me that i'm snoring! YIKES! but he doesn't seem to be sleep deprived, so it must not be too bad :)

we had a great week last week....we went up north to visit my family to celebrate Pioneer Day!

it wasn't any cooler there and i got swollen ankles and feet every night.

I don't remember any bad swelling with L, so this is new to me-and i hate it!

i hope to get some pics of our little trip up if i can find some more time and energy...but we had a great time watching the Parade, my favorite fireworks and just hanging out with Ness, Grammy and Poppa!

i don't watch TV anymore during the day AT ALL
i hate flossing
sometimes i eat more than one bowl of cereal
sometimes i skip the deodorant (but the stuff i use is amazing and seems to work even when i skip a day..woo hoo!
it bugs me when R vacuums and leaves things still on the floor...not put away (i know, i know... i should just be thankful he's vacuuming!)
whining kids bug me
i eat smarties throughout the day
i hate the heat (i don't know why i'm living here sometimes)
i don't have any family pictures hanging on the wall (oh, i take that back...there's one)
i forget to read my scriptures on a daily basis
i hate riding buses
onions are the grossest vegetable on the planet
i save every card someone sends to me
i love the movie Overboard
i slam doors when i'm angry
i have to look up on google how long to cook corn on the cob
i really do feel happier after i have my hair washed
i don't like texting
i nap for 2 hours while L naps
i used to dig out and eat the insides of pickles first, then eat the outside
i love ranch burgers from Arctic Circle ( i order it with extra sauce!)
i take long showers
most of the time i stay in my jammies until mid-afternoon
i hate to wear socks and shoes
i can eat cake for breakfast
swearing in movies bugs me
i can eat tuna fish right out of the can
i don't answer the phone if I don't know the number
i complain to R all the time about not having my own vehicle
sometimes i wish i didn't have a computer

Today is pretty much one of those days that everyone and everything is bugging me! I guess it's time to go take a little me time and relax a little (and wash my hair!)

Yesterday I had my 30 week doctor appointment and it just hit me that I only have 4 more visits to the doctor until my due date!! that kinda freaked me out. i'm so excited for our baby girl to come...but i haven't had time to really think about it or really get ready for it like I did when I was pregnant with L. Since the new year my little blog design business has kept me so busy (it's been good and bad)! Trying to keep up with it and be a good mom/wife has really been hard sometimes. I finally posted on my site that I'm not taking any more orders until after she comes. I hope I can really enjoy August and get things ready! I'm itching to get on my new sewing machine again!! A few days this last week we've gone swimming at R's parents house and it's been HEAVEN just lounging in the cool pool. I think I'll be doing more of that in the next month for sure! :)

ok...i'm off to wash my hair...

7 months...

7 months and counting!

i'm really surprised at how quickly this pregnancy is moving along...could be that i'm so busy with everything else that i'm not thinking about it 24/7 like when i was pregnant with L.

It's very cute though, when we say "bubby, where's the baby?" he'll come over to my belly and pat it or want to see my belly button. He sometimes puts his hands out like he wants to hold her. Oh...soon enough! :)

i've been working on a lot of projects...hope to get them posted soon.

my mom came to town for a few days ( YIPPEE!!! ) and we had a blast hanging out together...just too short of visit like always. we spent a day sewing (with my brand new sewing machine!!!) and went to see The Proposal-HIL-AR-IOUS!

we spent most of our days at Nana's house and loved it!

now L is wondering why we're not going to Nana's everyday to play (it's actually the first word he says when he wakes up...Heehee!)

today in church we are substituting for the nursery (that means L will actually go this time!) I'm so excited...NOT! ;)

i'm not too excited about bending over to pick up toys (I can hardly put on my socks...good thing i only wear socks after I've lathered my feet with lotion!)....or take crying little hot bodies to their parents (hopefully there's not many of those since this is the senior nursery!)....good thing R is going to be there with me to help with all that.

Better late than never...

I'm surrounded by such wonderful Daddy's!

My own dad is amazing and i love him so much....

But I'm especially thankful for the daddy of my children.

He is such a great man.

I don't tell him enough how much I'm thankful for him.

I couldn't have asked to be more blessed than I am.

I am so thankful for all his help around here.

He changes stinky bums without me asking him to.

He loads and unloads the dishwasher without me asking him to.

He vacuums the whole house without me asking him to....

but most of all he loves to play with bubby and teach him new things.

I love to see them running and playing soccer together...

laughing along the way.

There is nothing sweeter.

He takes care of us and loves us.

He is a wonderful daddy to our beautiful son and I can't wait to see him with our beautiful daughter...who I'm sure will have him wrapped around her little finger!

i just came across this yummy colored Martha Stewart kitchen aid collection that i found here and i tell ya, i must be addicted to this color because i'm immediately drawn to it...it's my eye candy for sure.

i also just came across a pizza dough recipe and ever since i can remember, when i was a little girl, one of our family traditions was to make homemade pizza on new years eve...well, i've never done that with just my own little family...but would like to start (and not just on new years eve...since R AND L's favorite food is PIZZA)! okay, i'm rambling...but i think i'm going to try this recipe and see how it turns out!

{wish i had that yummy kitchen aid mixer to mix it with! ;) maybe for christmas!

gosh, that's scary that i already have a christmas wish list going! }

15 minute pizza dough

2 1/2 c. flour

1 Tbsp. sugar

1 tsp. salt

1 c. hot water (between 120*-130*, use a candy thermometer for accuracy)

1 Tbsp. rapid rise or bread machine yeast

2 Tbsp. olive oil

preheat your oven 500*. mix dry ingredients together. add hot water & olive oil. mix for 5 minutes. let rise for 10 minutes. press dough on a pizza pan and bake at 500* for 3 minutes. take out of the oven and cover with your favorite toppings. return to the oven to bake 8-10 minutes!

wow!

it's june...

it's hot

i'm not liking this summer heat already but luckily we have a few pools around here that we can cool off in! while everyone thinks they are too cold still...it's heavenly bliss for me!

i've got my sewing machine OUT and set up and trying to work on projects here and there....

a car seat cover & canopy (ok. maybe just the canopy! ;))

soft minkie blankies and burpies

curtains for the kids rooms

i've got a bag of yummy fabric that i'm not quite sure what I'm going to make yet! i think this could be a very dangerous thing....all this girl stuff!!

i took a photography workshop over the weekend and can't wait to tell you all about it and post pictures that i took. I learned a ton and can't wait to PRACTICE on everyone.

it's going to be a busy month and it's going to fly by...

weekend happenings...

We had a great weekend away visiting family and now we're already home. I say this all the time, but really time is going so fast for me and a weekend with my family just ISN'T LONG ENOUGH!!!

My mom and I had plans to work on some baby girl projects, but we didn't even have the time to get out our sewing machines! We did however find cute fabric and visited a bunch of cute fabric shops. The weather was in the high 60's and it rained on us a few times...i love the rain! It was heaven for me.

R took bubby pretty much all day saturday while my mom and my sister and I indulged in a pedicure! It was so relaxing (except for the trashy reality show that was on TV)! I normally pick out RED for my toenails, but I had on a turquoise top and they had the exact shade to match! I went for it. Who cares if it's a little over the top! I love it.

bubby went to the bike shop, the pet shop, ate at Cafe Rio and even went on a little HIKE!! He had fun! R was pooped!

My brother and sis-in-law made the yummiest homemade hamburger buns and grilled burgers ( and blue cheese potatoes that I'm going to have to call you for the recipe! ) for a little early birthday celebration for my Mom and Dad's birthdays...that are two days apart! It was YUMM-O!

We placed pretty flowers on my Pops grave and on my other Grandparents graves. What a sight it was to see the swarms of people and flowers everyone was bringing to remember those they love.

Finally it was time to hit the road and we were doing pretty well until the last half hour of our trip....bubby started coughing and throwing up everything he had eaten in the day! It got all over EVERYTHING and the poor kid was crying "Ewey...Yucky...Ewey!" R pulled over as quick as he could! Now, let me just say that rarely is bubby sick, and I only remember one other time that he has ever thrown up when he was much smaller....so I'm lucky we were just coming home from a trip and I had a plastic bag, a whole tub of wipes and extra clothes! Whew! They saved the day.

When we got everything cleaned up we rode all the way home with the windows down to air out the car! What if this had happened in the first hour of our trip? I would have died!!!!

Our sweet bubby fell asleep 5 minutes after we hit the road again. I could tell he wasn't feeling well. We got home and dunked him in the tub and snuggled before going to bed. Then we cleaned the truck and car seat like crazy for about an hour....and starting loads of laundry! Just as we were about to climb in bed we heard bubby again gagging in his bedroom! OH NO!!! Yep, he had thrown up all over everything on his bed! MORE loads of laundry and another tubby....

I thought it would never end!

and it didn't.....

Bubby was so exausted he fell asleep on our bed, so we threw a towel under him and snuggled up by him (i learned again why i cannot sleep in the same room as he does...HE SNORES!!!) but about 2 hours later he started to throw up again. :( Luckily we had a towel under him and nothing got dirty.

Well, the throwing up finally stopped and we were all able to get some sleep! I prayed this was just a yucky food he ate and not the FLU! Today he's kept everything down and we're so thankful for that! :) Yippee!

My hubby is now twiddling his thumbs after work now that the boys soccer season is over...trying to get him to clean the garage and make me a 'work shop' area for my new scroll saw (but it's not working).

This team blew everyone away by winning REGION CHAMPS since they are a brand new school! We're so proud of them! The school threw a little banquet to celebrate and they surprised R with a framed copy of the team with all their signatures on it and a soccer ball covered with all their signatures too. They surprised me and the other coach's wife with flowers and gift cards for dinner and a movie for putting up with our crazy men!

L got a bag full of squishy soccer balls (in case he loses one!) and the award for the

BIGGEST LITTLEST FAN!

Too bad he wasn't there with us to accept his award! I wish I could of taken pictures of how cute all the boys were with him throughout the season! L would sometimes spend the afternoon at soccer practice with them (while I was at home sleeping or throwing up!) and he loved sitting with them on the side lines during the games.

Game day was always an exciting day for all of us! I LOVED going to watch all the games that we could make it to (we only missed a few) and even in rain and freezing wind we were there!

Maybe we were a little crazy at times, but it was too much fun!

He is going to miss them for sure....

He's amazing.

and just yesterday he wanted to play baseball (which he's never seen a game in real life...only pictures of baseball players)...he got out his plastic milk carton from his bowling game he got from his birthday and stood in a perfect batting position and wanted me to throw the ball to him so he could hit it! He actually hit a couple of them!!!

He's going to be a little league baseball star too!

i am having so much fun thinking of things i can do to decorate the baby's room! i can't wait until the thinking turns into doing....

time is seriously flying by and i can't believe i'm already 5 months pregnant.

i feel like there aren't enough hours in the day anymore.

it's going to take me all day just to write this post...in between changing runny diapers (that usually end up in having a tubby afterwards because i can't handle the smell, laundry (that is never ending), constantly picking up little messes (also never ending), taking L to the park to play ball (he could care less about slides and swings and things to climb on. he'd rather kick the ball, shoot the ball or bounce it off the top of his head-he's obsessed with balls)

side-note: i usually wake up to him saying "play ball! i play ball! i play ball!" and when i go into his room to get him he goes straight for his closet and searches for his "ball" shorts (which usually don't have a ball anywhere on them, but they look like daddy's soccer shorts!)

when R and I were in Vegas a couple weeks ago i ventured off to Pottery Barn kids. Ooo...i love that place, but can't afford anything in there!

i fell in love with the Penelope bedding and i can't stop thinking about it! :)

i'm thinking of making the quilt and bumper myself...have any of you made a bumper before? i found a great bumper padding to make your own at JoAnn's, so instead of buying a new one, i'm going to have a try at making one....scary!

i love the little birdies on it! So, i think i want the theme to be birdies. Not what i thought i would like. Are you surprised her room isn't going to be aqua and brown?! :)

i'm trying to branch out.

i'd love to find a shelf that i can put her name on in big wood letters. with a quilt rod below it to hang up the quilt i make.

i guess i can't go to KAUI'I every year for my birthday! danget!

on tuesday i kept thinking "last year i was exploring the Na Pali Coast and laying on the warm sand without a care in the world on my birthday!"

Ahh! maybe next year?! {hint hint}

instead i....

was pampered with a yummy dinner two nights in a row

hung out with my wonderful family

received beautiful flowers from my hubby

went shopping with my Gram and got some goodies from the Garden Sprout

received a big box of love from my dad...A SCROLL SAW!!!

i guess that's just as good as being in Kaui'i! :)
