I’ve been searching through photos – looking for inspiration, my own photos, as well as others, and pinterest is a never-ending source of inspiration these days. This picture is actually of one of my oldest and dearest friends and her adorable daughter. I absolutely LOVE catching moments like this one. I have few regrets in my life, although one of those is not having these sorts of pictures with my own kids. Don’t get me wrong, we had these moments and I have a billion pictures of them but just not many of me & them. I know that there’s still more time to get these shots, but if I could go back and change one thing, this would be it. Do you have these pictures with your kids? How old are they now and how much do you treasure those moments? It’s never too late but if it’s on your list, make it a priority!

So, yesterday was Valentine’s Day – not on the top of my favorite holidays list, but for my kiddos. I spent some time with the 4th graders – may be the last Valentine’s school party for me, ever. Wow – that seems like a milestone – you really don’t imagine class parties coming to an end when you think of your kids growing up! So, I completely missed wishing you all a Happy Valentine’s Day, but forgive me… that’s how I roll. Enjoy this doll & hope you had a chance to indulge in some chocolate or wine yesterday!

It’s such a beautiful day today! And I’m sitting inside, looking out. As I archive all of the holiday photos, I thought I would share a few. Aren’t these girls too much? And in their beautiful red dresses? Reminds me that Valentine’s Day is coming… anyone out there interested in some beautiful boudoir shots for their honey? Could you be persuaded? I’m sure it would go over better than candy…

I fell in love with this house the first time I saw the living room with that amazing arched window and the ceilings! My good friend, Cindi Carter, did a fabulous job staging this house. Anyway, I could hardly wait to share these, because not only do I love the design, I love the light & the house & everything about it -just look at the details on the staircase. Can’t you just imagine sitting in one of these chairs, drinking hot tea with the fire going on a cold night? Or maybe coffee on a nice sunny day? Anyway, you get the pic. Enjoy!!

I’ve been shooting more interiors lately, and I just love finding old things that have meaning in people’s homes. Which is what prompted me to take out my camera in my own home – doesn’t happen too often – and here’s what I found…

This little silver box belonged to my grandfather… I think it was on the bedroom dresser in my grandparents’ room

Isn’t it pretty? Lined in red velvet…

And most importantly… it’s contents. Their last name started with a U – cuff links just happen to upside down here. I love that he kept the Goldwater button & I’m pretty sure the little watch face was my great grandmothers.

This gem wasn’t his, although he did have a passion for photography, this was a gift to me from a friend when I started pursuing photography. I believe it came from Ebay – what a treasure it is.
