The 12" single version of "Perfect Kiss" is out later this week, and now we get to hear another track, an unlikely cover of an indie-folk classic.

And there are profiles of the bands that existed alongside your brand-name indie favorites, like Sea Ray and Dragons Of Zynth.

Rush really are switching up their setlists on their reunion tour. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, the two surviving members of the pioneering Canadian prog-rock trio, recently headed out on their first run of dates since drummer Neil Peart died in 2020. Sunday's tour opener at LA's Kia Forum included lots of live rarities, as well as appearances from Aimee Mann, Paul Rudd, and Jason Segel. Last night, for the second gig of the tour, Rush played all of "2112" for the first time since 1997.

The claim traces back to a recent Exclaim! feature about the Québécois math rock sensations, who have garnered considerable attention for their adventurous music, outlandish papier-mâché masks, and excessively black-and-white polka-dotted visual identity. (Despite compelling evidence unearthed by online sleuthing, Khn and Klek haven't confirmed their identities.) Angine de Poitrine are popular! They were heroes of Record Store Day Canada! On the floor of the Baltimore Arena Monday night, a couple dozen kids with broccoli haircuts played duck duck goose. Why not? Those broccoli haircut kids had space, and they had time. They had so much time. Doors opened around 7 p.m., and A$AP Rocky, on his first proper tour in seven years, didn't perform until nearly three hours later. If you were there from the beginning, you had to do something to fill up that time. You could stare at your phone until it ran out of batteries, you could get into a fight with someone, or you could play duck duck goose.

The Queens-based musician Nick Hakim has a warm, personal sound that doesn't fit neatly into any genre categories. He's a soul singer, more or less, but there's a psychedelic, lo-fi indie rock sensibility to his music. Hakim is also a prolific collaborator. Since the release of 2022's Cometa, his last solo album, Hakim has contributed heavily to records from peers like Adrianne Lenker, Miley Cyrus, Beth Orton, and Show Me The Body, among tons of others. He produced one of the best tracks on the new Wiki album, which comes out Friday. Now, Hakim is ready to come back with a new LP of his own.

Even though I like that band a lot, I had this idea that they'd be ultra-serious, monkish types and that the conversation would be awkward as hell: Turns out: No! Those guys are very funny and chill, and I would hang out with them whenever. Their festival set destroyed, too. I'm not even sure why I'm telling you this, but it's the sort of thing I would want to know.

Way back in 2019, we put Penelope Isles, the Brighton-based indie rock duo of Lily and Jack Wolter, on our list of the year's best new bands. Penelope Isles released their sophomore album Which Way To Happy in 2021, and then the Wolters went off and did other things. Lily spent an extended sojourn surfing in Sri Lanka and Indonesia, while Jack toured as CMAT's guitarist. Also, both of them put out their own solo music — Lily as My Precious Bunny, Jack as Cubzoa. But now the Wolters are back together, with a new Penelope Isles album on the way.

EDM DJ John Summit is a huge deal in the dance world, a big enough name to headline a festival like Bonnaroo or Outside Lands. But when another artist randomly and unexpectedly makes an appearance during one of his sets, the whole thing might get shut down. On Sunday night, Summit played a set at Lilly's Club in Monte Carlo, as part of an afterparty for the Monaco Grand Prix, but the set ended early because another artist bum-rushed the stage. According to TMZ, that artist was Travis Scott.
