Almost immediately after Jane's Addiction's initial 1991 breakup, frontman Perry Farrell and drummer Stephen Perkins formed Porno For Pyros, a band that had what was arguably an even more chaotic run. Most of Porno For Pyros' legacy is extremely messy,. but before things started going sideways, the band did manage to release exactly one banger. Their 1993 single "Pets" is a starry-eyed alt-rock chart-topper that always sounded so cool on the radio.

Ariana Grande is currently on her Eternal Sunshine Tour and building up to the release of her new album petal, and she's also suing an unknown group of hackers who, she claims, stole and leaked her unreleased music, photos, and videos. As Billboard reports, Grande's lawyers submitted a lawsuit to a Los Angeles court on Monday, and one of its goals is to reveal the identities of the hackers, possibly by serving subpoenas to internet service providers.

Right now, the ultra-prolific Australian psych-rock crew King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are on their old-school techno shit. After playing a series of "rave" shows last year, the band fell in love with the modular Eurorack synth assemblage that they nicknamed Nathan. Using that contraption, they recorded their beautifully titled Alien Metal, album number 28 for this group. After sharing lead single "Level 5," the group is now ready to hit us in the head with the title track.

Linda Perhacs Reported Missing

Linda Perhacs, the 82-year-old psychedelic folk artist, has been reported missing. Yesterday, Perhacs' former manager Laurel Stearns posted on Perhacs' Instagram page, asking fans for help in finding the musician. Stearns writes that Perhacs "was discharged from a residential care facility approximately eight months ago under the supervision of her legal guardian. Since then, friends and longtime collaborators have been unable to reach her and repeated attempts to contact her guardian have reportedly gone unanswered." Stearns is asking anyone with information on Perhacs' status and whereabouts to contact her at lstearns@primarywave.com.

Williams played her own guest-heavy set, and Diaz and Dacus both joined her separately — Diaz on "Find Me Here," Dacus on "Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris." Today, Diaz shares a new version of her song "Heavy Metal" that she recorded as a duet with Dacus.

The veteran singer-songwriter Carly Simon hasn't performed live since a 2018 Tibet House benefit at Carnegie Hall, and she hasn't released an album of new songs since 2008's This Kind Of Love. She did not attend her Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction in 2022. Last month, however, Simon announced a new album called Comes In Waves, and she shared the lead single "Howl." Now, Simon has revealed the reason for her return: She's dealing with Parkinson's disease and the form of skin cancer known as basal cell carcinoma. If she's going to release any more music, she has to do it now.

For many years, Florida rap great Denzel Curry has been messing around in the hardcore world. When the teenage Curry first emerged as part of the underground Raider Klan crew, they helped introduce choatic moshpit energy to the rap world. In 2019, Curry covered Rage Against The Machine for Triple J and enlisted Fucked Up for a Bad Brains cover. Curry is a regular presence at festivals like Outbreak. He teamed up with Knocked Loose for the extremely sick collab "Hive Mind" earlier this year, and he'll head out on tour with that band this fall. Now, he says he's "flirting with the idea of creating a hardcore tape."

The biggest live-show beatdown I ever saw happened during New York hardcore heroes Sick Of It All's set at the 1997 Warped Tour in DC. One guy came running through the crowd past me, gushing blood from his head, while a bunch of other dudes chased after him. One guy had his wristwatch over his fist, and he kept punching the one bloody guy in the side of the head. Sick Of It All weren't exactly known for the most peaceful live shows in the world, but they weren't having that. This thing happened right next to me, and I was too slow to react. But right away, SOIA stopped the song they were playing, and frontman Lou Koller made his disdain clear: "Ten guys on one guy? Ya got no heart!"

No fashion, though, unless the mere act of being Charli XCX and wearing clothes counts as "sharing fashion."

Faith No More Announce First Shows In 11 Years

For a minute there, it wasn't entirely clear that alterna-metal titans Faith No More would ever perform together again. Faith No More broke up for the first time in 1998, reunited in 2009. They kept touring together for the next six years, and they released the 2015 reunion album Sol Invictus. But classic-era frontman Mike Patton hasn't performed with the band since 2015. As of right now, the most recent Faith No More shows are a pair of reunions with original singer Chuck Mosely, who passed away soon afterwards.
