The band name, Diles Que No Me Maten, translates to "Tell them not to kill me." That alone should perk up your ears before you even hear a note. When you press play on Escrito En Agua, the Mexico City band's new album released this month, you may then be further intrigued by the funereal New Orleans jazz dirge that greets you. And when that song, "Las noches que dormimos en sillas," leads you to "Hiriku," you may wonder how you ended up traversing space and time to a Can show in Cologne in 1971. Any lingering confusion will soon give way to excitement about this wholly unique ensemble.

Lethal is dropping in October, and in addition to the recent Badvril tracks "Push It Down" and "Golden," it has today's new single "Fever."

Hardy is also a rap head to makes music in his spare time. Way back in 1999, he made a mixtape under the name Tommy No. 1, which should honestly be my rap name; it leaked a few years ago. More recently, Hardy struck up a relationship with the underground rap supergroup Czarface, and now they've made an entire collaborative album together.

For about 20 years, the long-running music-scrobbling website Last.fm was owned by CBS and its assorted corporate overlords. Last month, as Endgadget reported, Last.fm became an independent company, breaking away from the larger Paramount Skydance umbrella. The people who ran Last.fm promised that the website would continue to work the way that it always did. You'd be able to keep track of your listening history across different platforms and share it with the world. There's been one significant change, though: No more bots. At least among one fan community, that's a controversial decision.

Heavens To Betsy Reunite For First Show In 32 Years, Announce US Tour

Here we go, axemen, here we go! Before Sleater-Kinney existed, elemental American indie rock howler Corin Tucker was one half of Heavens To Betsy, a duo that didn't last long but left a deep impression. Tucker and her childhood friend Tracy Sawyer started Heavens To Betsy when Tucker was a student at Evergreen in Olympia, Washington, and they played their first show at K Records' International Pop Underground festival in 1991. They went on to do some DIY touring and to release a few 7" singles, as well as one album, the sick-ass 1994 feminist punk classic Calculated. In 1994, Heavens To Betsy broke up, and Tucker started Sleater-Kinney with her Excuse 17 tourmate Carrie Brownstein. The rest is history.

The Monkees' entire run was fascinating — the most monoculture shit in the world, created to riff on the counterculture, which then became part of the counterculture when the band members wrestled control away from the TV producer who put them together in the first place. But Dolenz is more than just a Monkee. He is also, apparently, enough of a Paul Westerberg head to cover a song that even most Westerberg heads might not recognize.
