Jack Avery, a former member of the now-defunct boy band Why Don't We, was the target of an alleged murder plot by his ex-girlfriend, the TikTok personality Gabbie Gonzalez. Gonzalez was charged Tuesday for conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and solicitation to commit murder, as was her father, Francisco Gonzalez, and surf instructor Kai Cordrey. According to court documents, the alleged murder conspiracy stemmed from conflicts over the custody of Avery and Gonzalez's young daughter.

CBS was not subtle in its attempt to cozy up to Donald Trump, announcing the cancellation of The Late Show last summer, a move widely interpreted as a bid to appease the president. Colbert is making the most of his final week on the show, which included burning down the house with icon David Byrne a couple of nights ago.
