If you're in Germany go check out Julia X 3D at the Fantasy Film Festival

Julia X - 3D

This internet date has gone thoroughly wrong. Bound and gagged Julia finds herself in the clutches of a perverse kidnapper. But she manages to escape from the remote location where “The Stranger“ has carried her. Together with her sister Jessica she now wants to turn the tables, and shortly thereafter all are entangled in a game of cat and mouse where no-one is what he or she seems to be. Only one thing is certain... a lot of blood will flow.
…
It is best to know as little as possible about the incredible film debut of director P.J. Pettiette, who is otherwise known as a producer. JULIA X is one of the few low-budget 3D movies that really deserves the addition to the title; for a finer three-dimensional view is rarely to be seen in cinema, in which the spatial depth is finally tangible as such. This rather intense shocker cunningly plays with each and every expectation of the audience, in the guise of a jet-black comedy. On the way to the final confrontation it dishes up a few selected atrocities, but thanks to the totally wacky over-the-top dramaturgy they don’t end in a splatter-overkill. JULIA X is an off-key, blood-soaked horror fun in a fancy look; somehow you would never have believed that actors like ex-HERCULES Kevin Sorbo or the human flesh mountain Ving Rhames are capable of those satirical evil side strokes. Definitely a ’must’ movie!

“Azlynn’s willowy and aptly wayward performance as Julia laces the film with sexuality and mania. … Kevin Sorbo is dead-on perverse … a mesmeric nutcase. Completing the terrible threesome, Alicia Leigh Willis is Lolita-ish alluring as the twisted little sister.” The Hollywood Reporter
“JULIA X borders on the creation of a new genre known as torture porn comedy.” 21st Century 3D
The subject, world's greatest knife thrower The Great Throwdini! The episode was shot on Phantom HD high speed cameras for super slow motion and utilized our latest BX3.5 beam splitter stereoscopic mirror rig with Angenieux Optimo DP digital cine lenses.

Mirrors were broken, glass was shattered and we had a very fun shoot that resulted in amazing slow motion footage and a great piece that is currently being shown on ESPN 3D. E:60 was the first news magazine show of its kind to be shot in HD and is now the first in 3D! 21st Century 3D was also responsible for ESPN's first ever foray into 3D with early Bristol, CT tests and Winter X Games 2008.
A conductor directs an orchestra of DTS speakers while vibrant plumes of colorful paint fly up into the air as musical crescendos play. A sell-out crowd of rowdy monster truck fans is silenced when it takes to the air. In sensational 3D slow motion detail, the crowd rises to its feet - their jaws, hotdogs and beverages dropping to the floor - as the truck tyres skim tantalisingly close to the roofs of the four-strong line-up of: MINI Cooper Convertible, MINI Cooper Clubman, MINI Cooper S and MINI Cooper S Countryman.

Stunning visuals come together with ancient culture and mysticism in this, Korea's first stereoscopic 3D drama. Jason Goodman was the lead stereographer and it was captured using 21st Century 3D's BX3 setup.

"Jason Goodman, CEO of 21st Century 3D took the stage and explained a little bit about the history of 3D. In the 1950's when television came out and the box office at the cinema plummeted, 3D was used to woo people back to the theaters although the 3D films from that era were not very well reviewed -they're what we would call B movies. There was a bit of a 3D revival in the 1980's when the VCR came out and Hollywood panicked again thinking that the audience would stay home and watch the films on beta and VHS so there was a slew of 3D films during the 80's. By the 90's much of the 3D content was consigned to specialized theaters at amusement parks such as the Michael Jackson show at Disneyland." Walt Disney Studios hosts 3D University, Examiner

Automation
BX3 allows you to choose fully motorized or fully manual mode. By designing the rig without any on board motors, size weight and cost are kept at an absolute minimum. In addition to full FIZ lens control, angular convergence and interocular spacing can be actuated with industry standard motors. If you require minimum operating weight or are on a tight budget, manual operation may be suitable.

New, improved and fully motorized BX3 prototype from 21st Century 3D

Months of hard work and diligent planing have finally payed off! Last week we witnessed our new 3D rig prototype come together with option to be fully motorized and remotely controlled. The production line is gearing up, we are expecting to see the first batch of new rigs shipping as soon as next month.

The new BX3 offers fully motorized operation of IO and convergence controls when mated with a set of industry standard lens control motors of your choice. BX3 is a unique solution offering the versatility of manual operation (lighter weight, lower cost) or motorized operation when maximum control is necessary.
George Barris is a master when it comes to restoring and customizing cars. "The Munster Koach", "The Green Hornet", "Beverly Hillbillies Hot Rod", and "THE BATMOBILE" are all apart of his resume.

Spanning over 5 city blocks, we treked our way through the masses with 3 beautiful hosts (Deena Dill, Jamie Wozny, and Grace McClung), capturing all the muscle cars and pinup stars through our RED ONES, EX3's, and Two BX-3 Beamsplitters.
The BX3 is a cutting edge tool designed for stereoscopic 3D motion picture production. After years of development and months of testing, BX3 represents 21st Century 3D's most advanced 3D production tool to date.

BX3 is a breakthrough in beam splitter design. Created by a professional stereographer for professional stereographers, BX3 has substantial advantages over competitive devices. The BX3 can accommodate a wide range of cameras including RED ONE, Sony EX3, Panasonic 3700, Canon XHG1S and many others.

Lightweight construction

BX3 offers unprecedented versatility when it comes to setup and operation. The rig itself weighs only 23 lbs without cameras or motors, making it far lighter than most other full sized beam splitter mirror rigs.

Optical transmission balance

The mirror itself has been specially designed for optimum optical performance in stereoscopic cinematography applications. BX3's premium optics balance reflection and transmission of color, contrast, density and brightness. Additionally, a custom developed depolarizing filter ensures that polarized light (frequently seen on wet, metallic or glass surfaces) entering the lenses is seen by both cameras, virtually eliminating nasty retinal rivalry commonly seen in beam splitter footage.

Different configurations

When it comes to shooting options, BX3 offers unique choices. The mirrored camera can be oriented above the rig looking down into the mirror in its standard configuration, or down below the rig looking up in Flip Mode. Simply unmount the camera, release the two stainless steel clamps, and the mirror box can quickly be reoriented in the field. Operating in Flip Mode places the rig's center of gravity far lower and improves stability in a variety of situations including under slung cranes or steadicam operation. Flip Mode also allows the rig to get up close to the ceiling, increasing maximum height by as much as one foot or more depending on camera and lens configuration.

Easy to maintain on set - tool-free

Practicality is also one of BX3's strong suits. Quick cleaning of all glass surfaces is easily achieved. The entire bottom plate of the mirror box is easily removed with just six thumbscrews. The front and back surface of the mirror can be quickly cleaned and resealed without costly delays. The mirror itself can also be replaced in the field. In the event of damage or breakage, simply disengage the innovative mirror pressure clamp. The optical mirror is held in place by two strong clamps with shock absorbing rubber. Release the clamps and the mirror slides right out. No screws to lose, no visits to a machine shop, no time wasted.

Meets FAA standards for commercial air travel

The removable mirror box also allows for easy transit. BX3 and all its parts fit securely into a standard Pelican case, meeting all FAA and international requirements for commercial air travel. This convenience simplifies logistics and allows you to travel with your BX3, reducing anxiety, shipping and overall production costs.

Pricing and availability

BX3 will be $44,995 and they offer financing.

BX3 can be seen at one of 21st Century 3D offices in New York or Los Angeles. "
21st Century 3D provided its versatile, lightweight 3D recording system BX2 holding a pair of Sony EX3 cameras all on Steadicam for the concert at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.
Small size and ease of use of BX generation beam-splitter rigs allowed us to capture otherwise inaccessible footage from the very floor of the arena.

Jason Goodman at Tisch School Of The Arts, New York University

On February 16, 2010 we were invited by Professor Sandy Sissel, (Head Of Cinematography, Graduate Film, Tisch School Of The Arts) to introduce a class of graduate film students to stereoscopic film making.
Jason held what ended up being a two hour presentation showing our BX3 - stereoscopic beam-splitter rig with two Red cameras in action.

This was our second visit to a New York based film school at student/professor request and it sure looks like there is interest for at least a seminar of this nature to be added to the curriculum.
Our new website features all of the new technology that we have been busy developing lately. On top of that we have all the recent projects - couple of feature films we shot recently, commercials, educational videos, some hot sports action and more!

The feature we are really proud of is improved communication with potential clients our contact page, while the most common questions we get about shooting in stereoscopic 3D are answered right there on FAQ page.

Please come by and check out our stereoscopic rigs and browse the exciting projects that we have been working on recently.
