Hi Larry,

I would generate the slideshow (often in low quality), watch it, make changes, and repeat. They should be automatically centered and scaled to fit. For some photos, especially portrait photos, I cropped off pieces to make them use more of the screen... but for most, the default was good enough. The process did, however, take a while. Good Luck! :)

Thanks for the writeup, I'm about to attempt a similar project and this should be helpful. Did you end up editing all of your images to a certain aspect ratio and resolution?

Hi Ed,

I have the same setup and I just tried deleting my installed version, downloading the version(s) on this webpage, and restarting RB. I had no problems, so I'm not sure what the problem is. My only suggestion is to stop RB, remove the current
~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/plugins/jump-to-playing
folder and download/extract it again. There should be 4 files inside the
jump-to-playing
folder, at first. When you've done that, start RB again and see if the problem is still there. (After starting RB should compile and add two more files to the folder, so there should be six files.)

Remove the Desktop, its obsolete. I run without one and dont miss it. my files are in my ~ under directories that corespond to what they are, movies, documents/work and so on. Launch applications are done trough a panel/launcher so i can see any reason for populating a area so big and undefined as the the "desktop" Not for random icons/files anyways.

Hah! Thanks, Alex. :) Actually, a cartoonist is something I wanted to be.... I love animation and drawing!

You can grab a cheapo Wacom tablet for less than $100 to play around with. I guess the $80 Bamboo is the successor to the Graphire, which is what I have. They're lots of fun. Once you start looking at them, however, you may find the higher end models items of great temptation. :D

I really like the doodle. In fact, I like most of your doodles. You could be a cartoonist! :-)

I want to get myself a pressure sensitive tablet. I've always wanted to draw out some of the things I picture in my mind... but can't, with the mouse. But of course, they're of a different nature from what you draw, and I can be pretty certain that they won't be as nice.
