How to Be on Time

What does time management have to do with being successful or being famous? Everything. From managing your time at home while you are knocking out the tedious paperwork to when you are in the studio to when you are meeting a manager for your career.

If you are late for a meeting (especially a meeting with me) you are going to put a bad taste in the mouth of the person whom you are meeting. This is going to hurt your chances at tapping into the industry that you want because if people don’t like you they will not do business with you.

Here is a rule that I live by…if people don’t respect my time then they won’t respect me or my money.

How can I say that?

If I was the President of the United States would they be late for our meeting?

Nope.

Why?

Become Famous Through Service

Becoming famous is an axiom for Americans. Ask any Gen X, “Do you want to become famous?”

“Yes!”

“What do you want to become famous for?”

[Blank stare]

We know that we want to become famous because we believe with fame comes happiness, the lifestyle and for guys…the girls. But, what is fame? Fame is simply having a lot of people who can recognize you for something.

My dad is a famous contractor in Belpre, Ohio.

“No, he isn’t. I have never heard of him before.”

Of course you haven’t…but in Belpre, EVERYONE knows him. So how do you become famous? The first step is to get people to first like you (or hate you) for something specific. I have found that the best way to do this is by serving. Below, I tell why

Make Small Changes for BIG Results

Everyone is looking for the home runs in life.

I want a million dollars.
I want to change the world.

These same people won’t bend over to pick up a penny or walk across the street to help a neighbor rake leaves. I am not throwing punches…we all are like that to an extent. However, I want to open your eyes to the opportunity of making small changes today because that is what will lead to massive opportunities tomorrow.

Change Strategies

Being a business owner is accepting a life of servanthood. In business you have to realize 2 things

You sell and deliver the information/products that your clients (not you) want.
You have to focus on the profitable activities FIRST.

The first one is obvious (to most lol) the second not so much. I have written on this blog now for more than 2 years and have not received the number of clients to justify me continuing to put out free information (which btw is completely my fault because I haven’t structured it correctly) Sure, I have received TONS of compliments and feedback which is GREAT but that doesn’t pay the bills, does it?

So, though I LOVE writing on StevenRoddy.com I have to change strategies so that I can push my company, “The Marketing Model” forward quicker. And maybe you should consider changing strategies also.

For the last 3 weeks I have been traveling from New York for New Years then flying straight to Bermuda where I am typing this message and tomorrow I am flying out to Vegas where I will spend a couple of days at Miss America before flying home to Ohio.

This trip has enabled me to step out of my day-to-day routine and to re-evaluate what I was doing, what was bringing in the money and what was just idle work to make me feel productive.

Now, I am not giving up my marketing clients nor am I no longer designing websites. In fact I am marketing a movie called “Fishers of Men“, just got asked to do some Internet marketing for the 2014 Olympics, and am currently designing 7 different websites…no, wait…8.

But, the additional time will allow me to focus more on my clients to better serve them and to pump more money into the projects that are bringing me in the desired revenue.

So while I am giving you the heads up on the blogging portion of StevenRoddy.com I want you to be thinking of your own business and think…am I really doing what is profitable, or am I just staying busy?
