I look pretty fugly but this is a photo I took last weekend. Just look at that face! I bought that jacket at Kohls on black friday for $56, original price was $160. I thought that was a rather great deal.

In other news I've been so busy with life. I hardly have much time for anything anymore. I think my work schedule will die down for a little bit. For the past three weeks I've been trying to pull as much overtime as I could. Mainly for Christmas but also I picked up a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 32gb tablet. It's sexy.

Otherwise nothing special to really update on. I think I might lay down and read. I finally finished up Something Like Summer, which I really didn't want to end at all. It really touched me. Right now I'm reading The Cranberry Hush which so far has kept my interest. I decided to read this first on my list of things to read due to all the positive things I've been hearing about as of late. Also to keep track of my readings I made a Goodreads profile. Like I don't have enough social networking sites to keep track of, lol.

There we go, that was my post for the night.

I have not forgotten you

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lu-Fa_Eb714/TsiRcOkLaEI/AAAAAAAAAMs/Ply9EI_ShDU/s400/mahou_shoujo_madoka_magica.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5676947244432713794" />

Oh hi there. I didn't forget about this blog, I've just been having a dry spell (aka boring life) and haven't had much to post about. I'm breaking the seal for now and I'm going to talk about a newer anime series that I broke down and watched: Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Now I usually don't watch new anime, but I've heard so many good things about it, that I had to check it out.

I had downloaded an episode of this a few months ago, and just never watched it. I recently purchased a 25 foot hdmi wire, and hooked up my tv as a second display on my laptop. Since doing this I've been eager to watch whatever I could get my grubby little hands on. For whatever reason, I deleted the original episode I downloaded, and snatched CoalGirls 10bit subs of Madoka.

Almost always I'm easily attracted to magical girl series. First and foremost I'm going to say that I was blown away. This series for some reason has captured my heart. It's only 12 episodes, but the story was well written and kept my interest. While watching it I couldn't wait to find out what would happen in the next episode. I was quite sad when I was finished. It had a pretty good ending too.

It's going to be released in America next year, I can't wait to own the blu-rays. Not to mention it was announced they are making three films based off the series. Super excited for this! I really hope the manga gets released here too.

Since I had the day off, I spent most of my day wasting away on the internet. Mostly browsing tumblr. During my random searches, I came across many posts about Madoka. Honestly, stupid otaku are disgusting. I think I've seen more fan art of Madoka and company dripping in cum, licking nipples and eating each other out than I really should have. Really, this is why people have such a bad view on anime in general. I know for me it's a major turn off.

In other news, earlier this week I got Codename Sailor V and Sailor Moon volume 2's in the mail. Special thanks to Amazon Prime <3 I have yet to actually sit down and read them, but I look forward to doing so in the next night or two.

So what else is going on in my life? Not a whole lot. Mostly working. I try to pick up as many hours as I can. The holidays are just about here, and I'm trying to make it as nice as possible.

Dancing In The Streets

Partially because it will be a really long entry with some pics, and mostly because I'm lazy and don't feel like writing it all out.

I left for Brooklyn on Friday. After a bit of traffic I picked Jason up at his apartment before we went over to his parents house. It was kind of a crappy day due to the weather, but I survived, even with crappy windshield wipers. We were faced with a little bit of a dilemma since Dom was getting in around the same time Alex was. Jason didn't know if he should go meet up with Alex or drive with me to JFK to get Dom. In the end he opted to drive with me to JFK.

Alex ended up taking the train by himself, which wasn't so bad for him (so I think?) since he's taken the train with us many times. Picking Dom up was an adventure. There wasn't too much traffic, but I'm not too familiar with the parts of Brooklyn we were driving through. Also my crappy gps kept making me take left turns. I hate left turns. With a passion. On the drive over we jammed to some Disco 80's and some 2nd Boom eurobeat. Always fun. Just remember that webcomic: Don't parapara and drive or you'll drive off a cliff.

We got to the airport, and I parked. We went inside and waited for Dom. The people came out fairly quickly. While Jason wasn't looking, I said "Look! Here she is!" it really wasn't Dom, but an older man with grey hair. To which he replied "That's not Dom, it's Kenny Rodgers." It was quite funny. Dom made it out pretty soon after that, and we left. We got in the car and we were out of there in record time. Under a half hour. Yay for cheap parking!

Since we had a large amount of time between getting Dom and Tony's flight, we went back to Jason's house and got Alex. We headed back, met up with Alex on Ave H, had chinese food, then got back in the car and headed back to JFK.

The second trip to JFK was just as fun, if not more fun than the first. Again we had a Disco 80's toky. This time we blasted the music with the windows down. I swear everyone on the street knew we were gay. Kylie, Bananarama and Rick Astley? Yeah. Luckily no one murdered us. It seemed like forever for us to get Tony. People kept coming out, but no Tony. We eventually found him and rushed back to the car. Parking wasn't as cheap this time since it took like 45 mins. No biggie, because on the way back to Jason's, we stopped for White Castle. Which is always a good thing.

Eventually we made it back to Jason's house. Everyone got settled in. I really wanted to choreograph the Pete Hammond remix of Kylie's Put Your Hands Up, but it turned out to be more challenging than I thought. So we canned that idea. Jason showed us a bit of his new maniac dances that he came up with. Honestly, I can't remember what else we did that night, I just know we went to bed.

Saturday was a jam packed day. It was really our only full day together since I had to leave later on, I had to work Sunday and Monday. Instead of taking off all together, I figured I'd come back and forth so I at least had some money in my check. It started off pretty simple. Everyone got up and got ready to head out.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fN4UOwUtXcE/TkHnfdQsn5I/AAAAAAAAAME/t4XWcaAufiU/s400/difarra.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5639042736061194130" />

Last year we had tried to go to this pizza place that's right by Jason's house, Di Fara, but it was either closed or way to busy for us. So this year we decided to try again. The walk over wasn't that bad. It was hot as fuck, but we made the best of it. We had our portable iPod speakers and we blasted Around 40 Eurobeat the entire way. It was quite a sight. I did take a video of it. I Should Be So Lucky was very much the theme of our vacation, since we played it everywhere we went.

So walking over, blasting Kylie, got a few looks from people, danced the entire way there. Good times. We got to Di Fara, we waited a few mins before we were told where to order. It was packed. It's such a small place too. We placed our order for a pie and our five cans of soda. It came out to about $40. I remember thinking this better be good fucking pizza. So while we waited we went over to Game Stop and fucked around in there, then to Rite Aid/CVS/Walgreens some drugstore that I don't remember. Like an hour later, we went back and got our food. Really no place for us to sit, beings that it was a tiny area, we ended up standing. Now the pizza was good, but in my opinion not worth the price or the wait. Whoo hoo they put fresh basil on it. From my one piece, I wasn't very impressed.

After our food we headed into the city for some shopping. We got off in Soho so Alex and Jason could buy stuff. Dom, Tony and I ended up going off on our own for a bit. We had to hit up the bank, and since it was so hot, we ended up at Starbucks. It was nice to take a break from walking. Connor got in touch with us and everyone met up at Uniqlo. Alex did more shopping and we all waited around for him, we just sat around and bullshitted until he was done.

We left Uniqlo, started walking further east, ended up dancing parapara randomly on the sidewalk and then went to this little place called Alphabets. It was a pretty awesome shop. They carried Toddland stuff, which Tony wanted to check out. I ended up buying something for my friend Catherine. After that, we went to Urban Outfitters, Jason bought a new ipod speaker. We headed back to Union Square, stopped at the comic book store, then rested for a bit. Dom's shoe broke or something, we were all dehydrated. We rested a while and looked for a place to start dancing.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-F4Mr5Kri30Q/TkHnrFu0_yI/AAAAAAAAAMM/Morhl-jZDGc/s400/boys.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5639042935903551266" />

Jason always wanted to get a group of us together to dance in Union Square. It was prime opportunity. Everyone was tired and winey though. We found a nice spot and started dancing to SEB 200 I think. Or 210? I can't remember. People walking by made comments, one lady shouted "WOO THE MACARANA" which is funny since it's on a Xenon video. Most comments consisted of "Oh wow I used to do this with glow-sticks". One guy asked me for a cigarette, so I gave it to him, he asked Jason where he was from, so Jason told him Japan. We all chucked as the guy bought his story. Thinking back, it's sort of sad that I don't retain parapara as much as I should.

After dancing in the park, we ended up going to a bar called The Boiler Room for some drinks. It was getting really late and I needed to be home fairly early, but I was having such a nice time I didn't want it to end. I'm not really into gay bars, but this place was pretty laid back. It had an amazing juke box, which Jason and I quickly rushed to play some Disco 80's. We had a few drinks, and waited for what seemed like forever for our tracks to play.

I promised myself I'd leave at 1am, well that turned into 2am, then to 3am. About an hour into our bar visit our tracks started to play, which made us happy. We all sang I Should Be So Lucky then left. On our way back to the train station we stopped to dance randomly again. Some black guy grabbed my ass when he walked by. It was super late at that point, we waited for the Q and it was hot as balls on the subway platform. It was so nice to sit on the train with the air conditioning. Still a little warm but not as bad.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MC2Dj6UGkeE/TkHn1xEnnOI/AAAAAAAAAMU/pmzYrICYxoU/s400/group.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5639043119336365282" />

By time we got back to Jason's it was 3am, I had a long drive ahead of me, so I left everyone and began my journey home. My lovely gps wanted to take me through Manhattan to which I said fuck you. I stopped for gas in Jersey, then stopped again to pee. Then my car wouldn't start, I guess since I had my gps and phone plugged in. I made it home by like 5:30ish and went to sleep. I had to be up for work by 9, since I had to work at 10.

Part two coming soon. I get side tracked rather easily.

So what's new and exciting in my life? Nothing really. I did get a really good deal on a new webcam though. I received it last week. I got the Logitech C910 HD webcam. It's mighty fine I must say. It's 1080p, but only broadcasts 720p via Skype and such. Which is no big deal. The picture is crisp and clear. The built in mic isn't too shabby either. I took a few test pics with the bundled software and they are pretty damn good. It's 10 megapixel for still shots.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 302px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oI5IPTLoaWU/Ti-vpU2p9AI/AAAAAAAAAL0/cCjlqen4Bm8/s400/hangout.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633914783371228162" />

What am I gonna do with it? Well, aside from Skype chat with anyone and everyone I've been pretty obsessed with the Hangout feature on Google+. It's basically just a big group cam/audio chat. Very, very good quality and hardly any lag. The pic above was from the first night the rest of Disco NRG and I were testing it out. I look pretty horrid in that screen cap, but it was all in good fun. We were on it for a few hours. I did have another Hangout with some other Disco NRG members two nights ago, with way more people than that and still pretty amazing quality. I really do look forward to using the Hangout feature more often.

Aside from just cam chats and such, I'm hoping to use it this coming weekend at Jason's when everyone gets together. I'd really like to try out doing a live broadcast of some sort as well.

Shoujo Kakumei Utena Review

Some of you may have known that I've been having a bit of an anime boom on and off for the past year or so. It's been forever since I was into anime hardcore. I'm not so much into newer series, though I did start watching Suite PreCure.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 239px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UAgcCuKtUwM/TiZNi2nUr6I/AAAAAAAAALk/mDB_oUFqZDo/s320/utena1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5631273645244723106" />

Earlier this week I ordered Nozomi/Rightstuf's re-release of Shoujo Kakumei Utena. It's only the first box, since the other two aren't out yet. I already own the first two boxsets released by CPM from years ago. I was intrigued since Utena is a pretty special anime.

At first glance the box is gorgeous. I love the photos on the slip case. The slim dvd cases have basically the same art that was on the CPM/Japanese LD releases. It also comes with a nice size book that has episode commentary, interviews, key note gallery and the original Japanese laser disc liner notes. Very awesome.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 239px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4zZwDmJ3hVg/TiZNvTG3_bI/AAAAAAAAALs/2wiB45gbaPM/s320/utena2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5631273859051683250" />

Quality wise I was expecting a little more. I haven't officially watched it yet, since I'm pretty slow at watching anything. I did pop the first disc into my computer and I wasn't too impressed. The Japanese audio track is tons better. It uses the remastered audio track from the Japanese dvds. Picture wise I didn't see much of a difference. I was expecting a little more. Last year I had downloaded a torrent of the Japanese dvds, and the fansub group who did it had better looking video than this release. Then again, this series is about 15 years old now, so I shouldn't complain too much. I may have a different opinion once I actually sit and re-watch the series.

Either way the boxes are gonna look super cute on my shelf. I'm looking forward to the second release in August. Yeah, I know, not much of a review. Hey it's a start!

Introduction Post

Well this is the first post in this blog. I'm really horrible when it comes to keeping up with these things. Really the only blog I ever kept up with was Live Journal and well I think I've out grown it after all these years. Especially since I haven't updated it since 2010, with no real posting behind it. Just random shit.

I do however like to use my tumblr, but not for anything special. Mostly random reblogs and stupid shit. Feel free to follow me there as well ;)

Introduction posts are kinda hard to write. So I'll just keep it simple for now. I'm not going to go into detail about me or anything. I set up a separate page for that. Honestly if you're reading this you probably already know everything you possibly could know about me. So that's kinda pointless, right? This blog is pretty bare right now. I'm planning on making it cluttered with bling and blinkies.

So what's going on in my life? Not a damn thing really. I've recently become obsessed with Google Plus. Which if you don't already know is Google's answer to social networking. It's pretty sweet and a lot more simpler than Facebook. Last night Jim and I tested out the Hangout feature. Basically it's a group video chat and you can also watch Youtube videos together. We had some fun playing around on it, until I got kicked offline.

Tonight I also received my invite to Spotify. I've been playing around with it here and there. The program is a bit of a hassle to navigate, but I think I'll get the hang of it eventually. One thing I really like about it is that you can share playlists with friends, and browse friends public playlists. It's kinda fun to see what people are listening to.

Next week I get to see some out of town friends who I only get to see maybe once a year. Here's to my first time driving to LaGuardia!

I think that's all for now. It's very late. I think I'm going to finish my cigarette and fall asleep to the Dawn of the Dead remake.
