Sign your lease by February 14th and save!

Who knew that a fan could help you warm up?

Winter is one time of year when you can expect your energy bills to go up a fair amount as you have to kick up the thermostat to accommodate for the cold weather outside.  If there were ways you could save money and not have to crank up the heat quite as much as you normally do, you’d want to hear them, right? Well, here are some to consider, courtesy of Apartment Therapy:

• Use your fireplace.  That’s what it’s there for! There’s nothing quite like sitting by the fire reading a book or spending time with the family, so why not do that while also saving some money?
• Keep the doors to your walk-in closets closed so the heat isn’t restricted to that area.
• Run the ceiling fan in reverse to force warm air that has risen back into the room.
• Here’s a yummy one: Do some baking and leave the oven door open when you’re finished so the heat from the oven will heat the room while also cooling off the oven at the same time.
• Run a humidifier to raise the temperature in the room by up to 15 degrees.

Say ‘cheese,’ Stewarts Ferry! We want you to be the new stars at our community.  Of course you are all already stars in our eyes, but we want your fellow residents to know it, too! We all want to get to know you better, and what better way than to ask for your picture and story submissions?

We would love for you to send us some pictures of you and your kids doing the things that you love, whether it’s dancing, singing, pole vaulting…you name it; we wanna see it (as long as it’s appropriate, of course)! Include a caption or story to accompany your pictures identifying yourself and describing what we see, and we will post it here on the blog for all of our residents to see.  If you’d rather post yourself, you are welcome to do so on our Facebook page.
