Make a Splash this Summer at Nashville Shores Water Park

When the weather gets hot, many people head to the beach, ocean, or pool. Those living in the family-friendly apartments in Nashville, TN often head on over to Nashville Shores Water Park to spend the day. It is located just east of downtown Nashville and offer various attractions and special events.

People from all over the state enjoy the activities offered at Nashville Shores Water Park. Throughout the year, there are various events planned on special days for you and your family to enjoy.

Have a blast on the Thunder & Lightning ride at Nashville Shores.

The park is open from 10 am to 6 pm and has various water rides, such as; Castaway Creek, Breaker Bay, The Bucket, The Lily Pad Pool, Suntan Lagoon, and Wacky Pond. There are also several water slides. Horseshoes, Beach Volleyball, Parker Sandbox, and Shoreliner are the dry activities that are offered.

On May 18th , there is a Grad Night at the Water Park, fireworks for the July 4th weekend and other special events.

Kids living in the family-friendly apartments in Nashville, TN are looking forward to the Nashville Shores Water Park opening day.

Get Fit In Time for the 2012 Memorial Day Dash 5K In Nashville

Get those running shoes laced up for the Nashville Memorial Day 5K!

Many people in the apartments in Nashville, TN are starting to head outdoors to do activities to get in shape for the 2012 Memorial Day Dash that is taken place in Nashville this year. Some of the things that they are busy doing include running, jogging and biking.These activities do take some time and practice in order to get into tip top shape. Residents of the city of Nashville, TN take part in morning exercise on the local trails. They generally try to hit the trails early so that they will get their running done before the sun gets to its hottest point.

This event takes place on May 28, 2012 and the registration fee is $25 through to May 24^th, and $30 the day of the race. The course starts inside Greer Stadium, around Fort Negley, past the Adventure Science Center and finishes at the Nashville City Cemetery. There are several awards offered for those who reach a certain goal.

No matter what your preference is, many people in the apartments in Nashville, TN really do enjoy physical activities that get their body and mind in shape for the 2012 Memorial Day Dash.

Did you know that contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not the Mexican Independence Day, but rather the celebration of the Mexican victory over the French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862? However, it is a day for celebrating Mexican heritage and culture.

Fortunately for Stewarts Ferry residents, there is one restaurant near our community where you can celebrate Cinco de Mayo in style and that is the aptly named Cinco de Mayo Mexican Restaurant. Cinco de Mayo Restaurant is located at 5770 Old Hickory Boulevard, Hermitage, TN, and is approximately a mile and a half from our apartment community.

At this Mexican restaurant you can enjoy such traditional fare as tacos, enchiladas, chalupas, quesadillas, burritos, nachos and more. There is also a host of refreshing beverages like draft and bottled beer, wine, sangria and margaritas. There are also daily drink specials for you to take advantage of.

What better place for the Nashville Earth Day Festival than beautiful Centennial Park?

Now that we’ve gone over some simple ways to go green in time for Earth Day, we’d also like to highlight an event going on in the Nashville community that you can attend to learn more about how to reduce your carbon footprint and to meet other like-minded folks.

Nashville’s 11th Annual Earth Day Festival will be taking place on Saturday, April 21 at Centennial Park from 11am to 7pm. There will be many exhibits and activities which will serve to educate festival-goers on the many new and innovative green ideas. This is also a family-friendly event, so bring the kids for numerous hands on games and activities. There’s also a chance for you to recycle and win. Here are the details from nashvilleearthday.org:

Drop-off your cell phones, chargers, and other small hand-held electronics such as MP3 players, PDAs, and digital cameras at the Public Works booth and enter to win a $50 gift card AND a refurbished Apple laptop computer – Sponsored by Creative Recycling.

If you work up an appetite during all the fun activities, you can nosh on some goodies provided by local vendors and listen to great live music. There’s even a songwriting contest to stay true to form in Music City.

One of the great things about living in Stewarts Ferry is that the apartment community features a jacuzzi available for year-round resident use. Just reading the title of this post, I’m sure you can think of a million different benefits of having access to a jacuzzi. Here we would like to focus on some of the health related benefits to soaking in the hot tub:

Ending your day with a quick 15 minute soak in the hot tub 90 minutes before your bedtime can help you get a better night’s sleep.
If you are experiencing sore muscles and aching joints from the competitive game of tennis or racquetball that you played earlier on our property, relaxing in the hot tub helps to relieve pressure on your joints.
Improve your body’s circulation and reduce blood pressure by soaking in the jacuzzi as the hot water can cause your blood vessels to open up. Of course, consult with your doctor before heading to the hot tub if you have a history of high blood pressure.
For those that have type 2 diabetes, soaking in the hot tub no longer than 30 minutes a day for 6 days a week can help lower those individuals’ blood sugar, lose weight, and sleep better.
