It’s Monday. Again. With John Wayne grit, you point both barrels straight ahead determined to “get through” another week.

But before you agree to give into the grind, think about this:

Because of Sunday, your Mondays will never—ever—be the same. The glow of Resurrection day is on your face and it’s not coming off. You can’t pack it away with the pastels or expect to move through this world unnoticed, or unchanged.

You’ve been to the tomb. And it was empty.

You’ve experienced Him. And that encounter has forever blown your cover. Your membership to the ordinary has officially been revoked.

Expect Him today. He will whisper to your heart, so try to be quiet. He will sing over you, so don’t hesitate to fling your heart wide open. He will move you.

Because He died, you will live. And live. And live. Because He rose, you too will rise today—to second chances, do-overs, and new dreams.

A million Mondays can’t silence the thunder of that one Sunday or stifle the joy as you lifted your voice with the angels to sing, “Hosanna, Hosanna!”

No power on earth can eclipse what happened that day—a day that changed the composition of every other day to come.

For all you endured Lord, may I never forfeit the joy of the moment to “get through” another day. You brought me up from the grave, O Lord, you kept me from falling into the pit of death. Resurrection power has been spoken into my marrow. Let that miracle radically change . . . absolutely everything. May I unwrap this day with trembling, grateful, worship-worn hands.

Thank you God for your son and the Love that rescued me for the glory contained in this most amazing Monday. Amen.

A sobering reality that comes with our goal to #LiveSticky as Christ followers online is being wise to the enemy’s schemes. You know the score, beloved. The last thing the enemy wants to see is Jesus and His tribe of twenty-first-century, Internet-savvy followers gaining ground online. The enemy turns up the volume, complicates the simple, and amplifies the yammering so we don’t know which way is up. He is the cultivator of fear, paranoia, and intimidation. He is the master of confusion and the king of anxiety. His goal is the same as it was in the garden.

The enemy sets out each day to silence God’s message of hope and genuine relationship with His children. But you don’t have to pick up the lies the enemy is putting down. God’s Truth is your weapon as you log on each day.

Lies of the enemy

• You are in the minority in the online world.
• You are outvoted, outnumbered, and outranked here on earth.
• Your faith is obsolete tradition rather than the God-breathed origin of humankind.
• Your voice isn’t relevant.
• No one is listening to you.
• Engaging in social media is too hard, and you can’t make a difference.
• You’re living in end times, and the online world is too lost to change.

God’s Truth

1. Your inheritance includes the riches of heaven, and you belong to the holy majority (1 Peter 1:4; 1 John 4:4). You + God = a majority.
2. As God’s child, you’ve been given dominion and power over this earth (Genesis 1:28).
3. The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it (including the Internet).
4. The voice of Truth—His voice through you—is desperately needed in online conversations (Psalm 78:6; Acts 1:8).
5. You carry a message that has transformed every generation since the beginning of time (John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 4).
6. Everywhere you turn online, ears (and hearts) are burning for truth and hope. The world is morally and spiritually starving to death (Isaiah 1; Matthew 5:14; Luke 5:31; Romans 5:8; 8:7–8; Philippians 2:15).
7. We win (Job 19:25; Acts 1:11; 2 Thessalonians 2:8).

So get in the game beloved, there’s no turning back, sitting the bench, or asking the ref for a time out. God has given you have everything you need for triumph and promises that through Him you can do all things. It’s your responsiblity to influence the online conversation and tell a clicking, texting, searching generation that they can’t google their eternal life.

God’s Word not only transforms your life, it transports you back in time.  The consequences of sin, brokenness, and repentance unfold by book, chapter, and verse. These themes repeat and God’s faithfulness in every circumstance trumps them all.

You live in a time where digital power allows you to bring others to wherever you are to experience whatever you’re doing. If you frequent any number of social media platforms, you may be living out your life and not even aware of how it is impacting someone else. When the Spirit of the living God’s is alive in you, your influence serves a higher calling and what you share penetrates the stream with life-changing possibilities. Other’s have a chance to see God’s faithfulness at work in you.

As this blog post publishes, I sit under the star-filled sky of Jeremie, Haiti. I am on a mission trip with 17 other people. We stay in a small missionary guesthouse that is approximately 1200 square feet in size. We sleep on wired bunk beds and pray the electricity holds on through the night. Rest is important because 183 orphans are ready and waiting each day to consume all we’ve got to give and then fill us with more than we can hold.

It was the twitter feed from my pastor, while he was here with a team doing earthquake recovery, that brought me here. Because he took me with him during the tragic aftermath, it awakened my desire to come.  My first time to serve in Jeremie was June of 2010. God infused in my DNA an infectious love for this place, the people, and His heart for both. When I arrived, God breathed life into me and into the Words,

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. ~ James 1:27, NIV

I get it now with everything that is within me. When you tend to the things center to the heart of God, His love leaves no room for the pollution prevalent in the world. Obey part one and part two takes care of itself.

This week our team uses social media to tell the stories of Haiti. We share our individual impressions on Twitter and Facebook. We pin on our Pinterest boards images reflecting what we feel when the words are too hard to come by. We take turns documenting the activities of the day and then feed them into the Long Hollow Baptist Church - Lot Of Love blog.

Go to the mission blog and you can join us. Experience how we  live out our faith through the words, pictures, and videos we share.  And by the way, while we share from Haiti, it just so happens there is another team in Uganda doing the same. United in purpose and heart, our church has two mission teams book-ending the world with the Gospel of grace and the love of God. There may be 7,195 miles physically separating us, but the Internet enables us to hear the beat of each team’s heart in real-time.

God gives each of us the opportunity to share online with the whole world what He’s doing in our lives.

You may not be on a mission trip in another country, but make no mistake, if you’re reading this post, then you’re already on a mission field. It’s filled with the lost and hurting. Voices cry out and wonder if anyone will listen or respond. Will you let the story of your life take them to the only place where their souls will find redemption and rest?

Social media enthusiasts are enamored with the momentum of Pinterest.  The number of men jumping on ‘boards’ is growing. Brand marketers are quickly and strategically infiltrating this network wherever they can. Big brands, intent on converting images into new revenue and profits streams, populate the daily flow of images.

Meanwhile, for those of us on the lookout for every opportunity to #LiveSticky, Pinterest is yet another place to share and live out our faith.  On this platform every board holds the possibility of becoming a glorious reflection the God we serve.

Captivating images create conversations and conversations birth more shared experiences. Community happens, relationships form, inspiration abounds, and with a dose of intentionality, Pinterest creations introduce others to the One true Creator. Spirit-filled faith cannot be contained. It seeks to flow directly from our lives into the lives of others. On this rapidly growing social media platform, the current is strong.

10 Amazingly Easy Ways to Live Out Your Faith on Pinterest

1.  Your Profile Profiles are part of the first impression you make on any social media platform. On Pinterest your profile stands out like a downtown theater marquee. It’s bold, easy to read, and waiting for you to take a stand on who you are and what matters most to you.

2.  Your Boards Each board you create is like a page in the story of you. Here you visually share your heart, mind, and soul. Every board you design becomes a window into the essence of you in a way not possible on any other platform. There is more than enough content available for you to theme boards around the elements of your faith and relationship with God.

3.   Board Titles You have the freedom to title every board.  (As well as every single image you PIN) Your creativity and imagination invite others to come inside.  A title is a simple means to showcases your uniqueness and communicate Who holds your heart.

4.  Board Descriptions Every board carries with it the option to describe it.  Favorite scriptures, quotes, or song lyrics can bring an emotive quality to the stories you want to tell with the images you collect.

Every board is a gateway to discovery.  A joy-filled occasion connects people intensely around life’s most profound hopes, dreams, delights, and desires. Comment, celebrate, and bless those events as you see them unfold in the lives of others.

Open your eyes to the needs around you.

As social media becomes more integrated into our everyday life, so too, the moral and social responsibility rises in step. Did you know there are three powerful tools on Facebook that can actually save a life? Hats off to Facebook developers who have wisely integrated the Anti-Bullying Initiative, the Suicide Referral System, and just recently, the Organ Donation Status.

By taking a few minutes to connect with each of these Facebook features and logging on with an “awakened heart,” as we’ve so often discussed on this blog and in our book, @stickyJesus: how to live out your faith online, your online time can impact that reaches beyond the everyday chatter.

While the Anti-Bullying Initiative and the Suicide Referral System can be powerful, practical ways to help Facebook “friends” in danger online, the Organ Donation Status could very well be a cultural game changer in the world of organ transplants. It’s estimated that more than 114,000 people in the U.S, nearly 10,000 people in the UK and millions more around the world are waiting for a suitable organ. Many will die waiting because there aren’t enough organ donors to meet the need.

According to officials of Donate Life America in the past few weeks of Facebook launching it’s organ donation status option, donor registration has skyrocketed and “dwarfs any past organ donation initiative.”Know what to do and where to click:

Organ Donation: To be an organ donor via Facebook go to your timeline and choose > ‘Life Event’ in your status update box, choose the option > ‘Health and Wellness’  > ‘Organ Donor.’ Signing up takes seconds. Your organ donor status will then appear in your “About” section of your profile.

Suicide Referral System: If a friend posts a comment related to suicide you can report it to Facebook by clicking the “x” next to the comment that will give you the option to report. Facebook will then send an email to the comment’s author directing them to a telephone hotline or a link they can click to start a confidential chat.  For more on steps to handle suicidal comments or threats, go to Facebook’s Help Center. To get there, go to Help button under your profile > Safety Center. There you will find a step-by-step diagram on ‘How to Report Abuse.’

The "Help" section of your profile allows you to access all information by a simple search.

Anti-Bullying Initiative: To learn more about how to identify and report bullying online, go to the Facebook Family Safety Center and get a primer—it’s excellent. Go to > Help under your profile > Safety Center. There you will find a step-by-step diagram on ‘How to Report Abuse.’

Who is Phillip Randoll?

It’s a question many are asking around the Nashville area. Old school mystery, intrigue, and suspense populate the posts on social media sites. They attract the curious and cause buzz to build.

Investigate all the pieces and you find a story unfolding through twitter and Facebook status updates. A blog, videos, posters, and yard signs are carefully designed to catch your attention. Cryptic messages flow with just enough information to pique your interest in the fortunate death of a man no one claims to know.

As clues surface daily, it becomes clear there’s only one way you’ll discover the Truth and the whole story about this man named Phillip Randoll…

Why Easter?

In these next two weeks before Easter, prayerfully begin to do your part to fill the gap:

• Pray over your family, friends, and the people following your social media feeds.
• Ask God to use you to bring them closer to the Truth.
• Use the network platforms you frequent most as part of your outreach strategy.
• Share a link to your church’s website highlighting location and the Easter service schedule.
• Let people know what you’re doing on Easter weekend.
• Be bold and invite specific people to come to your church.
• Post online what Christ’s death and resurrection means to you.

Coming Soon

And soon this cyber world will be even bigger. Instead of reaching millions, the number of people will grow to billions. Between mobile technology and satellite placement, this generation will more than likely live in a world completely WiFi enabled. A world where messages instantly travel to the ends of the earth. And while no one knows the day or hour of His return, believers with an alert heart feel the urgency. The revelation of what God is making possible compels them to take action. They know it’s time for digital disciples to unite, man their posts, and infiltrate the front lines of the cyber mission field.

God’s view

God’s status update regarding the world hasn’t changed: I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. ~ John 4:35, NIV

God’s expectation

Christ’s final commission hasn’t changed either: But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. ~ Acts 1:8, NIV

Happy Valentine's Day!

We live on a broken planet; in a culture increasingly underwhelmed by vows, divorce and extramarital affairs—so Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to give a shout out to Love—God’s love for us, ours for Him, and for the gift and covenant of marriage.

As Christians living in a digital world we need to get intentional about honoring the covenant of marriage—for ourselves—and for a mislead world looking on. A Christ-centered marriage puts a “no trespassing” sign in the enemy’s face and tells everyone around you that values such as “marriage, fidelity, honor, respect, family, faith, and love” will never go out of fashion in your home.

When that message is celebrated on the very public stage of social networks—where hundreds, even thousands, look on—your marriage becomes a very real and very powerful expression of God’s Love for the world. In fact, your marriage, lived out faithfully online, can become a life-altering encounter to people who may never step foot in a church.

Here are 37 ways to honor your spouse online:

1. Make your marriage your #1 priority in your home.
2. Start and end your day with prayer—together.
3. Go dark (get offline!) on the weekends and in the evenings to honor face-to-face time with your spouse and family.
4. Lift one another up in public by posting affirmations, encouragements, and thank you notes on your spouse’s Facebook (FB) wall.
5. Digitally cheer on one another’s goals and accomplishments.
6. Take a picture of flowers, or other cool things you see throughout your day and send them your sweetheart’s phone or post them on their FB wall.
7. Post a music video of your favorite love song and tell your spouse why it reminds you of them.
8. Ask your FB friends what song you should dance to with your spouse on date night (you’ll be amazed at the interaction you get!)
9. Make a list of 10 things you love about your spouse or your relationship and post it on your spouse’s FB wall or your own (make sure you tag your spouse so they don’t miss your post)!
10. Ask your spouse out on a date on his/her FB wall and post link to the restaurant’s menu to get them excited about the night.
11. Post a picture of one of your children and tell your spouse what you love about that child and how grateful you are for your family.
12. If you are out shopping for a gift for your spouse, take a photo of the item choices and share a “this one” or “that one” photo on their FB wall. Have them (and their friends) choose which one you should bring home.
13. Go to the park, set up a picnic, take a video or photo and post it on their FB wall (or email or text) asking them to join you.
14. Post in your status update when you decide to “take off early to go take my spouse somewhere special” or “to spend time with my family.”
15. If you have extra courage: Write a love letter as if you were just falling in love with the person. Post it in a Facebook Notes and put it on your wall. Tag your spouse.
16. Post a condensed version of how you met your spouse and ask friends to post how they met their spouse.
17. Post “definitions” of words in your status update. Define loyalty, love, faithfulness, passion, joy, agape . . . in God’s words. Tag your spouse.
18. Write “I Love You, XXX” in unique places such as the bathroom mirror, in the snow, or on your arm. Take a photo and post it on their wall.
19. Once a month write a “Top 5 Reasons Why” list to your spouse. Why I Love You, Why I Thank God for You, What I Miss About You, What I Appreciate the Most About You. Post it on their page briefly or in a Facebook Note to them.
20. Send romantic texts every day. Can’t think of any? Try these out.
21. Ask your FB friends for their favorite recipes and then cook it for your spouse. Take a photo of the dish and post it later thanking everyone for helping make your date night special.
22. At least 1x a week, post this on your spouse’s wall: “In case you didn’t know . . . . (fill in the blank).”
23. Buy your sweetheart his or her domain name. See if his/her name is available at whois.net.
24. Make a customized playlist on iTunes and give it to your sweetheart.
25. Post scriptures from the bible’s Song of Solomon (don’t get carried away . . . there is such a thing as sharing Too Much Information).
26. Make a virtual commitment to your spouse. Fill out this certificate online that you can print out and keep.
27. Post romantic, funny, inspiring messages on your loved one’s page. If you aren’t good with words, try this site.
28. Set up a blogger website dedicated just to your family. Celebrate every week or month with posting milestones, love notes, prayers for one another, and fun photos. Setting up a blogger account takes about 5 minutes.
29. Publically pray for your spouse by posting a prayer on their Facebook wall. Use their name repeatedly in the prayer.
30. Write a poem. Then use Google Translator to translate a poem into either French or Italian, or any romantic language you choose.
31. Make “I love you” posters for your kids to hold, take their picture, and post it on your spouse’s wall. Or, have the kids or a friend take a photo of you doing the same.

33. Post a free coupon for dinner, dancing, breakfast in bed, a long romantic walk by the lake, a short trip to the beach, or just some unplugged time together. Print free coupons.
34. Ask your spouse to go on a special date with you. Can’t think of one? Check out these ideas.

37. Post this link on your sweetheart’s wall. Tell him or her you plan to make the 50 years+ photo album someday.
