There’s nothing better than the pure sense of accomplishment that you get when you finish a race. Your muscles are beyond sore, you’re exhausted, and you couldn’t be happier. All the months of training have paid off and you’ve finally met your goal. Whether you’re just starting out with your first 5K race or you’ve got a few under your belt and you’re going for a half marathon, or even the full marathon, getting out and participating is what it’s all about, not to mention the excellent health benefits.

If you’re thinking about participating in a race in Little Rock, Arkansas, you may want to get registered for the Little Rock Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K taking place March 3 and 4. Time is running out, so be sure to register online as soon as possible.

The race starting line is located at the intersection of President Clinton Blvd. and Sherman St. and the race finishes at Riverfront Park at River Market.

If you’re looking for something fun to do this February that involves good food, live music and some good old fashioned kickball, you definitely won’t want to miss the 4th Annual Chili with a Kick presented by The Big Red Ball Charitable Foundation on Saturday, February 25.

This event will feature activities for people of all ages including games, a draft style kickball tournament, a chili cook-off, jalapeno eating contest, arts and crafts from local Etsy artists, fare from Hot Dog Mike, $2 beer, and live musical entertainment from bands such as Whale Fire, The Year of the Tiger, Suburban Legend, DNR, and many more.

Chili with a Kick will take place at Dickey Stephens Ball Park located at West 2nd and North Willow Streets in North Little Rock. It’s the perfect opportunity to head out with some friends, participate in come kickball action, or just sit back and watch. You’ll be able to have fun with friends and make some new ones.

Make a Splash with this Superbowl Shrimp Dip Recipe from Fogelman CARES!

There are a lot of great things about Superbowl parties. You get to watch the biggest sports event in the country (along with the hilarious commercials) with friends, drink a beer or two, and enjoy all the delicious food. If you’re looking to make a splash at your Superbowl party, try this recipe from our Fogelman CARES Cookbook for Shrimp Dip:

Enjoy great snacks as you watch the big game!

Shrimp Dip

1 8-ounce package cream cheese
¾ cup mayonnaise
1 Can small shrimp, rinsed and drained
1 Tablespoon horseradish
1 Tablespoon Tabasco
2 Tablespoons grated onion

Soften cream cheese and mix with other ingredients. Add horseradish, or Tabasco to taste.

Chill several hours and serve with crackers.

Whether you’re an experienced singer-songwriter with a complete set list of songs prepared or you just like to play around on your instrument and sing cover songs, you’ll definitely want to check out Open Mic Night at The Flying Saucer every third Monday of the month through May.
