WOW, we had NO land line here, So my daughter needed to use her verizon wireless cell account to call verizon communications so called -toll free number. Which Verizon wireless charged as billable minutes going over 100 minutes and being billed for prime overage rate.

Bad point 2. Verizon Communications then sold her high speed DSL 1.5/3meg which was 1000 + feet over the loop sales distance, this was verified by 2 techs. We were getting 400k on and off. So my answer was to downgrade to there 1meg service which they RESET AS NEW SERVICE , then down throttled to 200k on and off.(ie at least 1 modem reset a day.)

The first help tech after making me change the router administrator combo to admin\admin on generic ip 192.168.1.1 (BAD security practice )
said he could not help any more because he could only help if allowed remote desktop control that was not MAC compatible. ( I would NEVER let an outside tech into my secure network Macs or PCs).

Looks like correct javascript and it works fine in its given exact example, it is implied that this is a generic horizontal scroller (but in fact is a left scrolling object only)
But  that’s not the big issue for me, its iterative script calls with no stop or time function. A browser has predefined system application overhead that a plugin runs ON TOP of, and endless loops kill user experience.
Very few if any of my flash sites or apps lock up or crash, this is due to extensive testing of when a swf plays AND WHEN IT STOPS…when and where its loaded and unloaded.
So  do i put a timer in the above function -rewite it for dual left and right or go from scratch ( the current choice). Are coding tools  useful, of course , but  hands on is the best way to fix or create code.

Quality of experience becomes more important as the lielyhood of bad experiences increases.
2. Feedback is still key.
Though we would all like to have created a perfect product, by having actual users in the base design tests as soon as possible, user complaints and designer oversight can be avoided.
3. Take advanatge of exposure oppertunites.
Do you have a twitter feed ? Is your apps mascot on facebook? Is your info correct in the app store?
4. Make it count
You get one shot on the new app list if you end up with a bad review your app will be loweer in the category. Unless it’s a game highlight its main function or feature right up front. For games a discription sentence first helps users choose faster and be more confident.

The last 2 sites i did run on my ipod touch IOS3.0 no errors in safari. ZERO errors. Done for a 2 person shop, i did not think it nessesary to maintain 2 versions of each site when they look nice as is with basic LAMP.
Yet the HR people and recruiters question are the same.

But have you built a mobile app?…. Duhhh NO they just work on mobile devices.

Do you know JavaScript?… I set the javscript standards at prudential. Then at hightimes with a MAMP conversion over 10 years ago.It must be so much diffeerent today. No its not.

Do you know HTML5? Its not a set standard yet , but can i use and write the functions. Of Course.

Do you know flash and action script ? Having taught AS and taken advantage of the vector capabilities of the swf format for interfaces for over 10 years. Maybe i know flash.

I could go on with QuickTime -web video, usability standards and style guides…. BUT you get the idea.
