5 reasons Wipes are a Must-have in the Bathroom

When it comes to personal hygiene, wipes are a popular alternative to traditional toilet paper. Although wipes are generally more expensive than toilet paper, there are several reasons why they may be a better option for your health, comfort, and the environment. Here are five reasons why wipes are better than toilet paper.

Wipes are more effective at cleaning. While toilet paper can remove most solid waste, it often leaves behind residue, especially for people who have bowel movements that are more difficult to clean up. Wipes, on the other hand, have a moist texture that allows them to remove even stubborn residue. They can also be infused with antibacterial or cleansing ingredients, which can provide an added level of cleanliness.

Wipes are gentler on your skin. Toilet paper can be rough, especially if you have sensitive skin or are prone to irritation. Wipes, on the other hand, are designed to be soft and soothing, and can be especially beneficial for people who have skin conditions.

Wipes are more convenient. With toilet paper, you often have to use multiple sheets to clean up thoroughly, which can be wasteful and time-consuming. Wipes, on the other hand, are pre-moistened and can be used with just one or two wipes, making them a more efficient option.

Wipes are better for the environment. While toilet paper is flushable, it can take a long time to break down and can contribute to clogs and other plumbing issues. Wipes, on the other hand, are typically designed to be flushable and can break down more easily in water, reducing the risk of blockages.

Wipes can offer a more pleasant experience overall. Many wipes are scented, which can help to mask any unpleasant odors. Additionally, the moist texture of wipes can provide a more comfortable and refreshing sensation than dry toilet paper.

While wipes can be more expensive than toilet paper, they offer several benefits that may make them worth the extra cost. Wipes are more effective, gentler on your skin, more convenient, better for the environment, and can provide a more pleasant overall experience.

If you're looking for a better way to stay clean and comfortable, consider giving wipes a try. And if you're looking for a way to store wipes neatly and discreetly in your bathroom, Storage Theory has a solution for you! Check out our simple, peel & stick wipe holder.
When it comes to keeping your kitchen clean and tidy, having the right tools on hand is essential. One tool that many people overlook is a sponge organizer. This small but mighty accessory can have a big impact on the cleanliness and efficiency of your kitchen. Here are five benefits of using a sponge organizer.

1. Keeps your sponges organized - One of the biggest benefits of a sponge organizer is that it keeps your sponges organized and easy to access. No more digging around in a cluttered drawer or reaching behind the sink to find a sponge. With a sponge organizer, your sponges are always within reach.

2. Prevents bacteria growth - Sponges can harbor harmful bacteria if they're not properly stored and cleaned. A sponge organizer allows your sponges to dry out between uses, which helps prevent the growth of bacteria. This can help keep your kitchen cleaner and reduce the risk of food-borne illness.

3. Saves counter space - If you're short on counter space, a sponge organizer can be a real game-changer. Rather than taking up valuable real estate on your counter, your sponges can be stored neatly out of the way. This frees up space for food prep and other kitchen tasks.

4. Extends the life of your sponges - When sponges are left to sit in water or squeezed into a ball, they can break down quickly and become less effective at cleaning. A sponge organizer allows your sponges to dry out completely between uses, which can extend their lifespan and keep them working effectively.

5. Easy to clean - Finally, sponge organizers are easy to clean. Simply rinse them with soap and water and let them air dry. You can also wash them in the top rack of your dishwasher. This helps prevent the growth of bacteria and keeps your kitchen hygienic.

Storage Theory sponge organizers are a small but powerful tool that can have a big impact on the cleanliness and efficiency of your kitchen. The larger sponge organizer comes with 3M adhesive strips for easy peel & stick installation. The smaller suction-cup holder simply attaches to any hard surface. By keeping your sponges organized, preventing bacteria growth, saving counter space, extending the life of your sponges, and being easy to clean, a Storage Theory sponge organizer is a must-have for any home cook. So why not give it a try and see how it can improve your daily kitchen routine!

For parents of young children, a baby monitor is an essential tool for keeping an eye on their little ones while they sleep or play. However, finding a good spot to place the monitor can be a challenge. That's where VuSee baby monitor shelf comes in. This handy accessory provides a safe, convenient, and easily accessible spot to place your baby monitor, making it a must-have for any parent.

One of the biggest advantages of a baby monitor shelf is that it provides a safe spot for the monitor to sit. Rather than balancing the monitor on the edge of the crib or placing it on a nearby piece of furniture, a shelf allows you to securely mount the monitor at the perfect angle for optimal viewing. This not only keeps the monitor safe from falls, but it also ensures that you have a clear view of your child at all times.

Another advantage of VuSee is that it helps keep your nursery organized. Rather than having cords and devices scattered around the room, the shelf provides a designated spot for the monitor, keeping everything neat and tidy. Plus, since the shelf is mounted on the wall, it frees up valuable floor space that you can use for other baby gear or activities.

A baby monitor shelf is also great for parents who want to keep an eye on their child from multiple angles. Since the shelf can be mounted at different heights and angles, you can position the monitor for the best possible view, whether you're sitting in a nearby chair or standing on the other side of the room. This makes it easy to check on your child without disturbing their sleep or playtime.

Installing a VuSee baby monitor shelf is also a breeze. All models come with everything you need for quick and easy installation, including screws or 3M peel and stick adhesive strips. Plus, since the shelf is designed for a wide variety of baby monitors, it pairs with your specific monitor brand and model.

Overall, a VuSee baby monitor shelf is a smart investment for any parent with a baby monitor. It provides a safe, organized, and versatile spot to place the monitor, making it easy to keep an eye on your child while also freeing up valuable floor space. So why not give it a try and see how it can improve your nursery setup and daily routine?

One of the biggest advantages of an outlet shelf is that it helps you save space. If you live in a small apartment or have limited counter space in your kitchen, for example, an outlet shelf can be a lifesaver. Rather than having to choose between charging your phone or using your limited counter space for cooking, you can do both at the same time. Plus, the Power Perch shelf itself is small and unobtrusive, so it won't take up much space or draw attention to itself.

Another advantage of an outlet shelf is that it helps keep your charging area organized. Instead of having cords strewn all over your counter or tangled up on the floor, you can keep everything neat and tidy by having your device and its charger in one convenient spot. This not only looks better, but it can also help prevent accidents, such as tripping over a stray cord.

A Power Perch outlet shelf is also great for people who like to keep their devices at eye level. If you use your phone for recipes in the kitchen or like to watch videos while you're getting ready in the morning, an outlet shelf can help keep your device at a comfortable viewing height. Plus, since the shelf is attached to the outlet, you don't have to worry about it falling over or getting knocked off the counter.

Finally, an outlet shelf is easy to install and doesn't require any special tools or skills. Most models simply attach to your existing outlet cover, so you can have it up and running in a matter of minutes. Plus, since the shelf itself is small and lightweight, it's easy to move or adjust if you need to.

Overall, a Power Perch outlet shelf is a simple and affordable solution to a common problem. Whether you need more space, more organization, or just a convenient spot to charge your device, an outlet shelf can help. So why not give it a try and see how it can improve your daily routine?

Baby Safety is key. For new parents there are a lot of items to prepare for when getting the baby's room ready. Set up the crib, wash the sheets, stock the changing table... and set up the Baby Monitor Camera.

Hm. Where should I put the Baby Monitor Camera...this looks like a great spot...As new mom ready to take on the world and be the best mama bear for my little cub. I sat the baby monitor camera on the side of the crib! The tag says NO, the box says NO, and since no instagram mommy blogger didn't tell me at that time, (sigh) I lost sight of safety and placed it there because it seemed to make the most sense. Now I'm certainly no genius here, but me missing this huge risk makes me feel that MANY other parents do as well.

Fast forward 4 months... I was doing some research on a company in Cedar Rapids that could make ideas become real. I had a few ideas I wanted to run past them and see if any of mine were cost effective to get a mold etc. Upon my chat, with Ethan, the Vice President of the company -- He had told me about some of their products they make in-house to see the caliber of what they can make etc. I was searching through their product list and BAM! A baby monitor mount. At first look I had no idea what it was, but as I clicked, and learned...my heart SANK! Strangulation could have been moments away for my new baby boy. This product is genius and needs to be known for all new parents and even those with toddlers!

That product: VuSee Anywhere (also VuSee Flat & VuSee Corner - all great options!) The Universal baby monitor mount provides safety keeping your monitor cord away from babies crib, while also providing an amazing birds eye view of your little one.

The company behind VuSee is Storage Theory. Gerald, the owner developed the product a few years back for when his son was born. Gerald's daddy duty for the room was to set up the monitor camera. When discovering the warning labels (unlike ME!) he thought there has to be a simpler way. After a little research, it turned out that there wasn't. So as any engineer would do, Gerald designed and 3D printed his own. And the rest is history.

This blog isn't about who, what, when or where. It's about the why. WHY would you need this? WHY would you purchase this? WHY would you travel with it? WHY would you install it?

ANSWER: SAFETY!!! Safety in keeping the cord away from the babies crib all while getting an excellent birds eye view.

I immediately installed my VuSee Anywhere. I set my heart free of any worry. I highly recommend you do so too. Even if you're a dresser camera setter -- this view beats them all!

Many parents might not be aware of this safety hazard (cough ME) and so many parents might think it won't happen to me or maybe a parent thinks oh, our baby is so tiny there is no way they can pull this down or bump the crib enough to have the cord fall in. I will forever hope it NEVER ever does , but please don't take the chances! For under $15 you can take the safe route with VuSee.

I've done some research with the latest monitors and all of them have spectacular features, some have better apps, better quality, etc., but 9/10 don't have a non-hardware, easy install solution for the monitor camera. There is the claw & wrap approach, or the crib stick... but the matter of the fact remains -- that camera is still in the fall zone of babies crib. The cord could still wind up in the crib, or the camera may even fall and crash onto baby's head. With VuSee you place it on the wall, with a peel and stick command strip.. Nothing hangs or attaches to the crib whatsoever. Simple & Safe.

Now that you're certain you need the VuSee product. Which one is your best fit? Check out these short Unboxing Demo Reels to find out!

Everyone can attend.

Huge thank you to The Walters and Chase Plastics for an amazing Vikings Game experience! For many of us, it was our first game! AND THE VIKINGS WON!!

Friday • October 8, 2021 • 2pm
The LandJet has...landed! Dave, our pilot settled us in for a relaxing drive up to Minneapolis! We played catch phrase, 99, many card game from back-in-the-day and we may or may not have had to stop to use the facilities umpteen times...but HEY it's the weekend, baby! Once we got to our awesome AirBNB in Uptown, we got an Uber to go eat at Urban Eatery -- and amazing fresh supper. To cap off the night, we snuggled in and watched My Octopus Teacher on Netflix.. well most of us did.

Saturday • October 9, 2021
We started the day of with a nice stroll in our neighborhood that landed us to a recommended breakfast place, French Meadow Cafe & Bluestem Bar. We won't mention how much mimosas were per ounce or how whiskey wasn't the best decision before 10am, but their food was AMAZING!!
For Lunch: Fire and Nice pizza! And since it was a brewery, you 'bout knew we'd have to walk to pick up the pizza so we could sample some of the brew! Amazing woodfire pizza, and delicious beers all around.

For afternoon fun, Randi, Geralds wife, booked us a fun Game experience at Game Show Battle Rooms! They had spin-off's of some of the popular game shows. Not sure if I should say the team name...but the ladies team did take home the GOLD! haha

We then hit up the LOOP (IOWA Bar) for the game and as soon as we walked in, interception!!! SO SO wild in there! Unfortunately, we were too late to snag a table -- we hopped around a bit and found some good food and drinks in the area.

For supper we went to Lago Taco, a place we were able to walk to! Can you tell we like our food? haha From an array of quesadillas, margs, tacos and bowls we were set to call it a night... well not until Ethan got his Waffle Dessert from Waffle Bar (that I believe Zach and Gerald took care of). HA.

Sunday • October 10, 2021
Rise and GRIND! IT'S GAME DAY!! We got down to tailgating around 10:30AM and met The Walters! Live Music, bags, watching the drums, the horn, kick-off, cheese curds, stadium noise ALL OF IT -- was SO AMAZING! Can't thank The Walters & Chase Plastics enough.
And that's a wrap -- Back on the LandJet for a relaxing ride home with our Pilot Todd. The weekend definitely marked a top 3 in my book! Cheers!

Top 5 Tiny Home Storage Solutions

Down sizing and Up utilizing are on the rise across America! From HGTV having new Tiny Home shows to Instagram Influencers selling it all and opting in for the simple life -- one thing is certain if you decide to make this change: STORAGE!

Creative cabinets, hiding items under stairs, unique hangers, hooks, everything! Here are some things you may not even consider you need to 'hide' or 'store' when you're in your tiny humble home.

1. Fridge Storage

Your fridge size just got cut in HALF maybe even a third! You make obvious room for your essential items: eggs, condiments, oat milk (use to be regular milk ;) But what about your weekly items, like snacks, greek yogurt and cheese? You have one drawer, 2 shelves and a tiny space in the door. Why on earth would you stack all of your items on top of each other and never make it accessible for easy grabbing? And with your tiny fridge, you can't afford to lose SPACE! That's why our Yogurt Slider is the perfect solution inside your tiny fridge!

2. Shoe Storage

I was chatting with some co-workers the other day and we were discussing how many shoes women have vs men. I had mentioned I only have 4 pairs of shoes and everyone was SHOCKED! I soon clarified... 'Well, I have 28 pairs, but I only rotate between the 4 pairs...' HAHAHA Likewise, there is NO WAY you're going to be able to keep ALL of your shoes! Traditional shoe storage doesn't seem like it will make the cut, doors and wide enough for hanging storage, and closets aren't tall enough for verticle closet rack organizers. Best solution may be a bin you can slide under your bed or in a cubby! Check out this shoe bin from Moteph on Amazon.

3. Food Storage

there is no way you're going to want to run to the store...everyday. It's time to get thrifty with your cooking. Be the chef you've always wanted to be and create a menu that incorporates your food items for almost every meal so there is little waste! But also... Where do you store your food? The box is bigger than the bag inside... the food pouches are thinner outside the box... Take advantage of unboxing and un-bagging and use containers and hangers and sliders! Just like these Food Pouch Hangers and Sliders!

4. Towel Storage

Unless living in the tropics, chances are when you get out of the shower it maybe a touch brisk so either keep the heat on and use a thin sand cloud towel, or shower as is and keep your towels tidy and tight with this sturdy shelf dividers.
5 Closet Organization Ideas You'll Want to Try ASAP

Want to create a functional, gorgeous space that’s uncluttered and has designated spots for everything in your wardrobe? It sounds like a dream. Regardless of your closet’s size, clutter happens. Here are 5 closet organization ideas to try ASAP—even if you have a small closet space to work with!

Closet Organization Idea #1: Sort By Color

Are you someone who likes to mix up their wardrobe? Don’t like to wear the same boring colors day in and day out? Organize your closet by the ROYGBIV (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet) color scale and never outfit repeat again. Start with lights and get darker, adding whites and darks to each end.

Closet Organization Idea #2: Add A Shoe Organizer

Shoe organizers that hang over the closet door can be a lifesaver. For lightweight, casual shoes, fit them into one slot, which is a hack that will give you double the storage space. Not a shoe person? No problem. Shoe organizers can be a great over-the-door storage hack for any small trinkets or accessories you own.

Closet Organization Idea #3: Invest In A Hamper

The easiest way to a messy closet is an overload of dirty laundry. Stop throwing worn gym clothes and work attire on the closet floor. Instead, invest in a heavy-duty laundry hamper—like this dual version from Amazon—that can hide your mess. You’ll have the appearance of organization without all the extra work—and you’ll always know what’s next to go in the wash!

Closet Organization Idea #4: Label Everything

From boxes to bins, creating labels for everything will help to create organization in your closet and eliminate clutter. Labels mean structure; and more structure? Well, that means less frustration of where to put that lonely sock yet again.

Closet Organization Idea #5: Don’t Neglect Wall Space

When your preinstalled closet fixtures aren’t doing the trick—add in your own to create more space on bare walls. Hang jewelry from hooks. Install purse hangers. Whatever you need, use the wall space you were given.

Featured StorageTheory Product: Amazon Echo Dot Holder

Alexa, help me organize my life—and my closet? Amazon’s Echo Dot is a great way to automate your home and make simple processes a breeze.
Organize It: How Organizing Your Home Can Help You Organize Your Life

Admit it: your daily life can find itself in a bit of disarray. Getting organized isn’t easy—and staying organized? Yeah, it is even harder. Whether you’re trying to organize your home or life in general, there’s only one way to get everything on your to-do list done: you have to start.

Here, we want to talk about tips for organizing your life, and how starting with home organization can do wonders for your psyche.

Tip #1: Give yourself permission to let things go.

First and foremost, in order to have an organized life, you can’t live in the past. Give yourself permission to let things go—both physical possessions and mental emotions. Once you understand that throwing away something doesn’t mean it’s gone forever (you still have memories!), you’ll be able to start living more simply.

Tip #2: Store anything you don’t use daily.

What do you use on a daily basis? In your bathroom? In your kitchen? Yeah, probably not a whole lot. To eliminate clutter, put away anything you don’t use on a daily basis. Store it in bins in your closet or in drawers under your bed. With excess clutter out of the way, you can begin to organize the things you actually use every day—and you’ll feel instantly refreshed!

Tip #3: Plan time to organize around your schedule.

Organizing your home takes time. Don’t expect it to happen overnight. Understand that you have to continue living your life, even while you organize your home. Don’t cancel plans or focus too long on one project—take it slow. Remember, slow and steady wins the race!

Tip #4: Rely on a to-do list.

Are you the type of person who tries to memorize all of your upcoming events and to-do lists? Stop. Organizing your home (and your life) is easiest when you put pen to paper. Instead of trying to memorize all of your obligations, start writing everything down. Organizing your home is great, but organizing your mind? Excellent. Invest in a planner and rely on your to-do list—penciling in times to organize your home will keep you on task, too!

Tip #5: Take back your life.

Organizing your home, your schedule, and your thoughts can help you take back your life. Knowing all of your to-dos are located in one place (your planner!) and your home isn’t a disaster, will put your mind at ease. You’ll soon leave the beauty of a quiet mind.

Cluttered cabinets—in the kitchen or the bathroom— are annoying, to say the least. Nothing is where you need it to be. Disorganized is an understatement. And, Heaven forbid a guest open that pantry door. If your home’s cabinets are in a bit of disarray, fear not. Here are 8 storage solutions for cluttered cabinets you can implement now.

1. Add an over-the-door organizer.

If you have a kitchen pantry, you have a lot of space—but are you using it to its advantage? Add an over-the-door organizer (yes, like a shoe tree) to easily store loose snacks. No more piles of granola bars or extra Cheetos floating around waiting to be crushed—take charge of your pantry.

2. Use baskets.

Baskets can help you sort similar food items and kitchen utensils when organizing your cluttered kitchen cabinets. When organizing the bathroom, choose a basket for hair products, shower extras, and styling tools if you live alone. Have a family? Sort your bathroom baskets by family members—this way no one loses their favorite toothpaste or hair tie!

3. Add hooks for your coffee mugs.

Are your kitchen cabinets full of unused coffee mugs? Install hooks to the cabinet’s interior. Choose your favorite mugs to put on displace; purge the rest.

4. Make the most of your vertical space.

Have tall cabinets in your kitchen or bathroom? Make the most of your vertical space. Add additional shelving to create more “floor” space between permanent shelves—this will give you room to store more plates, cups, and kitchen necessities.

5. Put everyday items at eye-level.

Whatever you use regularly, put them in a cabinet at eye-level. You’re more likely to tidy the areas you can see—plus, it will allow you easier access to the items you need daily.

6. Store in labeled containers.

Truly organized cabinets feature labeled storage boxes for whatever you’re organizing. Clunky, store-bought cereal boxes and processed packaging fits oddly into your space—but personalized storage boxes will work just fine. Transfer your items into personalized boxes for your cabinet space, then label accordingly.

7. Keep Tupperware lids in their own box.

Overflowing Tupperware is the culprit for many disorganized cabinet spaces. To avoid this issue, stack Tupperware together, but separate the lids. Lids can be stored collectively in one Tupperware container to avoid a mess.

8. Turn to Storage Theory for everything else.

Living in a studio apartment presents an interesting challenge. You’re staring at four walls; it kind of feels like you’re back in your old college dorm. With very little storage space, you might feel like you’ll never get organized. That’s simply not true—here are 7 easy (and creative!) storage ideas for studio apartments to help you relax!

Split your studio apartment in two.

First things first—you need to give yourself defined spaces. You don’t have a designated living room or bedroom, but you can create your own. Split your studio apartment in two by ordering a large cube storage organizer. It will serve as a makeshift wall (and allow additional storage for books or other trinkets!).

Limit your color scheme.

In a regular apartment, you can mix up your style and color scheme based on the room. The same cannot be said for studio apartments. Stick to one color scheme and your space will not seem quite as cramped.

Create a welcoming entryway.

Add hooks to your entryway for accessible storage for coats and bags—this is a simple solution to not having a coat closet.

Take advantage of under bed storage.

Many studio apartments lack adequate closet space (if they even have closets at all!). You’ll want to take advantage of every hiding spot. Maximize the space under your bed by storing out of season clothing and shoes in rolling storage boxes.

Make the most of vertical space.

You don’t have room to spread out in a studio apartment—build up. Add bookshelves to one wall to create vertical storage space, even in the kitchen!

Add storage furniture to the kitchen.

Usually, studio apartments do not require extra furniture. Still, the kitchen in a studio apartment can often benefit from additional storage space. Opt for a rolling island to place in your kitchen—you’ll have the extra shelving for pots and pans and additional cabinet space that can be rolled away when guests arrive.

Give everything a shelf.

The easiest storage idea for studio apartments? Use your walls. Giving every item in your home (even Alexa!) a shelf can help you save floor space and create a clean, cozy look.

Garage Organization Hacks To Keep You Sane

For many homeowners, the garage is nothing more than a deep, dark abyss. It’s where junk disappears and where the Christmas decorations hibernate. But why? Why are you wasting so much usable storage space? Here, we’ll advise you on how to organize garage space efficiently—so you can finally feel sane!

Garage Organization Hack #1: Use The Wall Space

When it comes to organizing the garage, the walls are your friends. Install holders and hooks along the wall to easily store large items like brooms, mops, and even bikes. Pegboards are also a great addition to garage walls. Installing a pegboard wall gives you a space to hang tools, toys, and anything else cluttering up the garage floor.

Garage Organization Hack #2: Create Hideaways

Want to create some hideaways in your open plan garage? Add cabinets to your space to eliminate clutter and create an appearance of a clean, orderly garage. Carpentry—not your forte? No worries, you could also add cube storage or an indoor/outdoor storage bench to create hideaways.

Garage Organization Hack #3: Store Above, Too

Don’t forget about the ceiling! In your garage, storing above can save you space, too. Just be smart about placement. The garage ceiling is a great spot for hanging long, flat stuff you don't use every day—think ladders and kayaks! Just be sure there is enough clearance to avoid scraping the top of your car.

How to Organize Your Home Quickly

Major home organization projects seem to take forever to complete. Knowing that you have so much to organize can be overwhelming and zap your motivation—we get that. That’s why we’re here to give advice on how to purge clutter fast and organize your home’s main spaces in record time.

Wonder the best solution to cutting clutter? Skip the day-long fall and spring clean out. Instead, schedule small daily tasks. Pick one room per day. Follow these quick and easy solutions for every spot in your home—and avoid marathon sorting and overwhelming piles of clothing for good.

Bathroom: Hang bath towels after use

Daily showers and a lack of tidiness can be cause for frustration (and disorganization!) in the bathroom. Bathrooms are often pretty small spaces—and an overflowing towel basket isn’t ideal. Create a house rule that all relatively clean towels be neatly hung on the towel racks—and all others relocate to the laundry room basket (out of guest’s sight!).

Kitchen: Always put away the dishes

Want a more organized kitchen space? Don’t leave dirty dishes on the counter or in the sink. It’s amazing how a family-sized kitchen can feel incredibly small when plates start piling up. Rinsing and putting away plates after meals can help eliminate the crazy kitchen clutter. Same goes for midnight snacks—always put them back in the cabinets after eating!

Living Room: Add a blanket basket

Living room blankets are comfy for nights spent watching a movie—but when spread across the room, they can make a living space seem unkempt. Folding takes time, but a blanket basket? It’s the perfect solution. Throw your blankets in the wicker basket after use; it’ll look like a decoration (but it’s really just a place to hide extra clutter...which is totally OK!)

Bedroom: Make your bed

You’re probably not shocked to discover that a made bed can completely transform a room from messy to organized in a snap. Make it a habit to make your bed every morning—you’ll soon find that you’re starting your day with much less stress.

Entryway: Don’t leave your shoes by the door

Some people love to take their shoes off at the door; others, not so much. If you’re wondering how to purge clutter from your guest spaces, start with the entryway. Remove your shoes and take them somewhere else—the laundry room, the upstairs closet, or the bedroom. It’s one simple routine change that can make your entryway clutter-free—fast!

Den: Opt for a catch-all bin

Everyone has a room that feels lived in—and it’s usually the playroom, bonus room, or den. If you have one of these spaces, simply add a decorative catch-all. When you’re not using an item that belongs in the room (that doesn’t match or feels like clutter) toss it in the catch-all bin. Decorative laundry baskets or storage ottomans are ideal.

Bathroom Closet Organization: How To De-Clutter & De-Stress in 7 Tips

Struggling with bathroom clutter? Tired of searching endlessly for the toothpaste or a clean towel? It’s time to declutter and de-stress—here’s how to master bathroom closet organization with these seven tips.

Start with a purge.

Before you start with any bathroom closet organization, breathe. Then, purge. Typically, your bathroom is a place where you get ready and do your business. Bathroom supplies run out pretty quickly (especially if you’re sharing the space with family!). If you haven’t used a bathroom item in over six months, toss it. Continue this process until you’re pleased with the clutter.

Practice "keep, toss, toss."

Toss more than you keep—especially when it comes to bathroom clutter like hair ties and bobby pins. Keep the items that are in great condition, toss the ones that look like they’ve seen better days.

Choose innovative shelving.

If your bathroom isn’t large, utilize the space you have by adding appropriate shelving. Wall shelves can neatly hold essentials like cotton swabs, hair accessories, and perfumes. Innovative wall shelves—like this Power Perch Outlet shelf—can help hold electric razors or toothbrushes and free up extra cabinet space.

Use a cart.

If your bathroom closet organization hits a halt, think about adding a cart. Have a lot of space at the base of your closet? A utility cart can help you stay tidy and easily rolls into other areas as needed. Store bathroom essentials—like hair products, extra razors, toilet paper, and more—neatly on the cart and roll it into the closet to keep them out of sight.

Store styling tools.

Styling tools often end up all over the bathroom counter or lazily stored in the bathroom closet (we’re talking cords everywhere!), right? Invest in a bathroom closet organization tool—like this styling tool organizer to keep your tools cool.

Utilize over-the-door organizers.

Over-the-door organizers aren’t just for your shoes—they can work for bathroom closet organization too. Use the pouches of an over-the-door shoe organizer to neatly hold bathroom products like toothpaste, hairspray, and extra conditioner!

Label your linens.

If you really want an organized closet, the most important step you can take is labeling baskets to keep everything in its place. This is an ideal tip for bathroom closet organization—especially if you store your linens in your bathroom closet!

HOW TO: Organize Your Kitchen for Clean Eating

I think one thing all of us can all agree on is that we could all use a little more clean eating in our lives. And for most of us, clean eating starts in the kitchen! If you are looking to implement more clean eating in your life, try out these eight tips for organizing your kitchen to do just so!

Tip #1: When you inevitably buy something unhealthy like cookies or chips , portion it into individual containers or baggies so you are more inclined to eat one portion opposed to the entire box.

Tip #2: Do a deep clean of anything you haven't eaten in the last six months and either toss or donate anything that is non-perishable. A fresh start is always better.

Tip #3: Keep your kitchen stocked with allll the healthy stuff. Once you have access to spinach at all times, you (hopefully) will be more likely to eat it.

Tip #4: Try your best to meal prep large portions of healthy meals for the week, this is essential if you have a super busy schedule with not enough time to cook three meals a day. This tip will help save you money from having to eat at fast food restaurants too!

Tip #5: Remember that we are all human, and we all have cravings. Don't restrict yourself from having anything with sugar ever again....cake is way too good for you to be doing that to yourself.

Tip #6: Refrigerate & freeze your produce to extend it's life and to give you more time to eat it before it goes bad. For example, an avocado's life can be extended by 3-5 days if you refrigerate it.

Tip #7: Keep a basket of fruit or healthy snacks on your counter at all times for when you start to have cravings for something sweet.

Tip #8: Purchase smaller plates to eat your meals with. Now when you want to fill up your entire plate with food, the portion sizes wont be as big...and of course if you're still hungry you can go in for seconds!

GOOD LUCK :)

17+ Things You Should DO Everyday To KEEP Your Life on TRACK

Sometimes life just becomes way too overwhelming. Therefore you may start to fall off the tracks or break free of your daily routine. It's understandable, really. It happens to everyone. But, the consequences of life getting in the way can be detrimental to your overall health and well being. Use these 17+ tips to help you get YOUR LIFE back on track, or maybe even on a better track than before.

TIP #1: DRINK WATER

You're probably sick of hearing people say this...because it is so important. Try carrying a reusable water bottle with you and refilling it a couple times a day, the more water the better the benefits!

TIP #2: Take Each Day as a Fresh Start

This is a lot easier said than done, but it is a beneficial habit to start practicing. Try not to let your stresses and worries carry over into another day, it's just going to make your days progressively more stressful if you do so.

TIP #3: Don't Go to The Grocery Store Hungry

Basically a no-brainer, but always a good reminder. Going to the grocery store hungry is not only going to make you spend more $$$ than necessary, it's going to incline you to purchase unhealthy foods. No beuno.

TIP #4: Eat Something Green Everyday

Even if it's a couple leaves of spinach thrown into your smoothie, hiding a little bit of greens into your meals is a great starting point for those who are state they are "allergic" to anything green.

TIP #5: GO OUTSIDE

Life's best medicine...fresh air. Nuff' said.

TIP #6: Listen to Music

Music has the power to change your perspective and your overall mood so whether you like country, rock, indie, or screamo...never stop listening!

TIP #7: Don't Forget To Floss

Avoid being repeatedly embarrassed by the question "do you floss every day?" that you get asked twice a year by your dentist...by just flossing every day. It's good for you, I swear.

TIP #8: Call Your Mom

Come on, just do it.

TIP #9: Stop Hitting Snooze

Try setting ONE alarm tomorrow morning, and MAKE yourself get up at that time your alarm goes off. Since you have no other alarms set, you basically have no excuses to not get up.

TIP #10: Make Your Bed Everyday

Making your bed in the morning can encourage you to be more productive throughout your day...and it only takes a minute so no excuses.

TIP #11: Unsubscribe From Annoying Emails

If you are constantly cleaning out your inbox or have emails piling up, take a couple hours to do a deep clean. Try starting with unsubscribing from stores you haven't bought from in the last 6 months and go from there.

TIP #12: Try Going Out to Eat LESS

Once you realize how much money you save when you cook meals from home, this tip is a lot easier to accomplish. Try calculating how much it is to buy one week of groceries vs. going out to eat for a week....crazy huh?!

TIP #13: Donate Things You No Longer Need

It is such a refreshing feeling when you get rid of things you never use. Try going through a closet or two in your home and you will soon see exactly what I'm talking about!

TIP #14: Clean Your Bathroom

When has your bathroom ever NOT needed to be cleaned? The answer is hopefully never. Now go clean your toilets.

TIP #15: Read More

Reading expands your knowledge immensely, which is sort of the opposite of what social media does. Spend an hour diving nose deep into a novel instead of scrolling through Instagram for the third time today. I promise, you won't regret it.

TIP #16: Make a To-Do List

It is always nice to have a physical list of things you need to accomplish in a day, especially when you can cross them off when you're done. So satisfying.

TIP #17: Make Time for Your Friends

In the midst of getting older, full time jobs and bigger responsibilities sometimes take priority in your life. And sometimes you forget who was there for you through it all. Take time out of your busy life to spend quality time with your friends, they will appreciate it more than you'll ever know.

TIP #18: Create Healthy Habits

Everyone's definition of a "healthy habit" is going to be a bit different, but i'm sure you get the point. Find something that is adding value to your life and stick to it man!

"I Was Making 7 HUGE Cleaning Mistakes WITHOUT Even Knowing It"

Hannah Montana once ever-so-famously quoted "Everybody makes mistakes everybody has those days". She was undoubtedly speaking the truth, because everybody does make mistakes. Whether it is mistakes while cleaning, while working, while parenting....$h!t happens. The trick with mistakes is to learn from them, to change from them, and to do better next time. So basically what I'm saying here is that you have no excuses after reading this blog to not "do better" next time when cleaning your home...game on.

Mistake #1: Putting Your Toilet Brush Right Back in The Holder

Moisture breeds bacteria, so it's very important to let your toilet brush dry before completely stashing it. This is going to prevent mold and more bacteria to attach to the bristles. Try propping the brush over your toilet to let it dry completely before next use.

Mistake #2: Considering a Rinsed Sponge "Clean"

Because food and bacteria hide in a sponge’s crevices, a water rinse isn’t enough. So once or twice a week, toss sponges into the top rack of the dishwasher, or heat them (while wet) in the microwave for two minutes.

Mistake #3: Washing Windows on a Sunny Day

Glass cleaner dries up much more quickly in direct sunlight, resulting in streaks on window panes. That’s why, in any season, the ideal time to clean windows is late afternoon or evening, or when the skies are overcast.

Mistake #4: Not Cleaning Your Kitchen Sink

Wet and dark, the sink is a perfect environment for bacteria to thrive. Even worse...germs can spread to items left to accumulate there. Next time you are cleaning the dishes or stacking dirty dishes , don't forget to clean out the sink when you are done!

Mistake #5: You Don't Freshen Up The Garbage Disposal

It may seem like your garbage disposal magically, well, disposes of all your food remnants, but little chunks of food can remain behind (similar to how your blender's blades get tiny pieces stuck on them). Try running white vinegar and ice cubes or citrus rinds and cold water down the drain next time you dispose food.

Mistake #6: You Put Sharp Knives in The Dishwasher

Sharp knives—especially those with wooden handles—shouldn’t go in the dishwasher. Each wash dulls and takes years off the knife. (Your dishwasher likely cleans with far more power than the knife needs). Hand wash knives (excluding those from your silverware) to prolong their longevity and keep their sharpness.

Mistake #7: Neglecting Your Biggest Touch Points

Light switches, faucets, refrigerator handles, remotes, trash can lids...all of these places are some of the most touched areas in your home. Don't forget to wipe them down with some disinfectant spray on cleaning day.

The TOP 7 WAYS to KEEP Your Bedroom FLAWLESS

Your bedroom can be one of the easiest rooms in your home to skip when cleaning day comes along...since you can basically just close the door and forget about it. The consequences of not cleaning your room can create huge problems with clutter, bacteria, or even worse...bugs. And the longer you wait, the longer you accumulate. Try using these simple tips to have your bedroom be germ free or orderly in no time!

Tip #1: Wash Your Sheets More Often

This has got to be the #1 TIP to remember when it comes to cleaning your room. Bacteria can build up on your sheets and especially your pillow cases, which can create oil buildup, which is what creates acne on your face. And NO ONE likes acne. Try to get into the routine of washing your sheets & pillow cases every two weeks to prevent bad skin days all together.

Tip #2: Dust Your Fan Blades

Most people go by the rule "out of sight, out of mind" for this one....don't be that person. Your fan can build up a hefty amount of dust and when you turn your fan on that is all being dispersed in your room...gross. Try to remind yourself to clean up yonder every month or so & you should be good to go (hey that rhymed).

Tip #3: Redecorate Every Once in a While

Having the same decorations in your room can become uninspiring to look at every single day. Try to change your decorations out every once in a while for a simple refresh, I mean how much longer can you bare to look at that Hannah Montana poster anyway?

Tip #4: Make Your Bed Everyday

It may be a small accomplishment in the morning, but it sets the tone for the day. Making your bed in the morning can encourage you to be more productive throughout your day. Plus- getting into a well made bed at night is a pretty damn good feeling.

Tip #5: Don't Eat in Your Room

I know, I know this is a tempting one. My favorite thing to do is lay in bed to watch Netflix and eat popcorn...but food inevitably gets EVERYWHERE. Having food crumbs all over your bedroom is a huge magnet for bugs, so if you don't want little critters running around in your room...I advice you not to eat in it.

Tip #6: Clean Under Your Bed

Again with the "out of sight, out of mind" concept...this tip applies as well. The space under your bed can build up dust and crumbs in a heartbeat, so you should try your best to vacuum under it every once in a while.

Tip #7: Health Benefits

Just like having your bed made, having your entire room clean can have some serious health benefits. When your bedroom becomes a peaceful and ordered place with no clutter around, you will feel less stressed and less distracted. This means you can spend some relaxing time before bed and go to sleep calmly...that sounds pretty nice.

11 SPECTACULAR Ways to Re-Organize YOUR Life

I think we could all use a little bit more organization in our lives since the benefits of having an organized life are endless. Use these 11 tips to create more space in your life for the things you love, and less space for the things you don't.

Tip #1: Plan an Event at Your Home

Most people get nervous about their friends and family coming to visit a messy home. By planning an event hosted in your own home, it is going to kick your butt in high gear to get your home clean and organized before anyone will ever see those disgusting ceiling stains - how did those even get there in the first place?!

Tip #2: Organize With Color/Patterns

The trick is to use a different color or pattern bin for each type of item that is stored in the bin. Whether this is used in your home office or your kids playroom, this simple idea is going to help out a ton when trying to keep your home organized.

Tip #3: Download an Organization App

Since our phones have basically taken over our lives, why not have an app that at least organizes it? Schedule appointments, meetings, deadlines and so much more with apps like Google Calendar or Todoist to keep your life on track.

Tip #4: Remind Yourself: You Probably Need to Declutter

Come to terms with yourself...you probably need to declutter. You may think you don't have anything you need to get rid of, but believe me, you probably do. Simply go around your house and fill ONE trash bag of things that do not bring you joy, and repeat every time you feel overwhelmed with STUFF.

Tip #5: File, Don't Pile

Paperwork is always better stored in files opposed to in piles. If you have a lot of important documents, please invest into a lockable file cabinet...you wont regret it.

Tip #6: Scan EVERYTHING

This tip is another option when it comes to storing important documents or photos. I suggest scanning all the papers or photos your heart desires, then storing them in an external hard drive that you can keep in a locked safe. The reason why I say an external hard drive is because your computer can easily crash and lose all of those precious baby photos or even worse...your taxes.

Tip #7: Utilize Vertical Storage In Your Home

If you do not have a lot of room to work with, learn how to be innovative with vertical space. Hang shelves from the wall or hang things from the ceiling to optimize all of the storage space you can.

Tip #8: Label EVERYTHING

Get yourself some masking tape, a marker, and an extra 5 seconds..and you have this step accomplished. Labeling is one of the simplest but most effective way of organizing your stuff. This is going to help you go from hours of searching for a specific item you put in storage, to seconds.

Tip #9: Stay on Top of Your Closet

We all know that your closet is the hardest thing to keep organized. Clothes are constantly being moved in and out and truthfully we all get lazy sometimes...it's understandable. We recommend spending 10 minutes a week going through your closet to get rid of items or to reorganize so the clutter doesn't pile up.

Tip #10: There Should Be a Place For Everything

To stay organized anywhere, be mindful of everything you bring in through your front door. Everything needs its own home – don’t bring it in unless you know exactly where it’s going to live.

Tip #11: Use Packing Cubes

The best way to keep your suitcase organized: packing cubes. These babies are perfect for separating items of clothing. Give each cube it's designated clothing item like "shirts" for easy access and a LOT less clutter.

9+ Useful TIPS to Create The IDEAL Rustic Farmhouse

I think we can all agree that Chip & Joanna Gaines from "Fixer Upper" have absolutely mastered the "rustic chic" look that everyone seems to be going for these days. And after watching endless episodes of the show on HGTV, I have fallen in love with the farmhouse look. It is the perfect mixture of a country vintage & modern chic, and is totally achievable for your home to have this look. With just a bit of white paint, some shiplap and a vintage barn door (if you are feeling extra), your home is going to look just as good, if not better, than anything Joanna Gaines has touched.

Tip #1: Paint Everything White (Off-White Works Too)

We aren't joking with this one. Having light colors painted on the walls and furniture sets the tone for the farmhouse look. Since the idea is to make your home look natural & rustic, the colors white, beige and light grey are going to be your best friend.

Tip #2: Get Rid of Anything Bright or Flashy

The whole idea of the farmhouse is to keep a neutral tone, so when you have bright or flashy items laying around your home, it doesn't quite add to the aesthetic (for lack of a better term). Try to limit the amount of items that have a lot of bright colors on them if you want your entire home to have a coherent theme.

Tip #3: Incorporate Dimension + Texture

If you want to go all in, I definitely recommend investing in some shiplap. Adding some texture and dimension to accent walls in your home will really make a difference. If you don't want to spend the big bucks for shiplap, stick to hanging up some large wooden planks to create a similar feel.

Tip #4: Mix Old + New Elements

By mixing vintage items with something modern, you are creating a timeless look that still looks up to date. Filling old wooden crates with plants & greenery is a great way to accomplish this look

Tip #5: Use Wire Baskets....Everywhere

For an instant farmhouse transformation, use wire baskets as much as you can, seriously. Hang them, fill them, use them as center pieces...you can use them for whatever your heart desires.

Tip #6: Incorporate Wood

Adding wood in various forms is going to add to that rustic look that you are going for. I mean...how much more "natural" can you get? Try finding some wooden signs, wooden candle sticks, wooden kitchen utensils, wooden sofas...okay the last one was a joke.

Tip #7: Add Some Distressed Pieces

Barn doors, vintage signs, antique washboards...these are all going to add so much character to your home and will most definitely add to the rustic feel. I recommend hitting up some thrift stores and antique stores to score one of these items.

Tip #8: Make it Feel Cozy

With all of the neutral colors going on, it is very easy to make your home look cold and uninviting. Don't forget to add lots of blankets, pillows, and (obvi) plants to make your place look and feel a lot more comfortable.

Tip #9: Make Lots of Signs

Signs have kind of been the signature look for the typical farmhouse. Signs that focus on themes such as family, blessings, or gathering are the most common, especially when painted with white lettering on wooden palettes.

Tip #10: It's The Little Details

Want the easiest & cheapest way to achieve the farmhouse look? Just throw some organic cotton in a vase, use mason jars for everything, and add chalkboards on your a lot of your walls....honestly, this is just what Joanna does so i'm not going to question it.

How To: Make YOUR Home Look 10x MORE Lively & Sophisticated on a Budget

I think everyone can agree that one of the best feelings in the world is when your home is finally decorated the way you want it. The hard part is making your space look lively & sophisticated with a limited budget. The good news is, we have 8 simple tips to help you create the space of your dreams, even with a small chunk of change. The bad news is, your friends are going to be so jealous of your beautiful place that you are going to have to rave to them about this blog on Storage Theory that inspired you to redecorate...okay maybe i'm fantasizing a little too hard. Let's get into the tips..

Tip #1: Invest in One Good Bucket of Paint

There is no quicker fix than a bucket of paint. Paint can give complete new life to your walls, cabinets, or dingy wood furniture. Make sure to do some research before choosing a color though, some colors like red or orange could make or break the vibe in your space.

BONUS IDEA: Use chalkboard paint on an entire wall to create a creative space for you & friends to draw on.

Tip #2: Declutter Declutter Declutter

The easiest way to make your space look more sophisticated? Get RID of clutter. When random items are laying around your home, it makes a space look less organized and less "intentional". And to be honest...who really needs all of that stuff?! Do a decluttering sweep & donate whatever you don't use...boom, done.

Tip #3: Buy a LOT of Plants

Adding any type of green living organism to your space is going to instantly make it look more alive...literally. Even under a tight budget, plants can still be relatively cheap way to add life into your home...especially if you get them from somewhere like a farmers market. As long as you stay far away from the beautiful planters they sell at Urban Outfitters, your pockets will still be happy.

Tip #4: Dress Up an Old Sofa

Throw some colorful blankets over your existing couch or even add a slipcover to jazz it up. Either of these options are low cost and can make a huge difference in the appearance of your sofa.

Tip #5: Take Advantage of Your Local Thrift Stores

This one is a no-brainer to most of the savvy shoppers out there, but still a good one to mention. Thrift stores surprisingly have a very good selection for home decor items. If you really think about it, when people downsize they either throw items away or donate them. This is why thrift stores are a gold mine for things like trinkets, kitchenware, and photo frames...lots of photo frames.

Tip #6: Rearrange the Furniture

This is one of the easiest ways to make your space look fresh & new...well at least "fresh & new" to you. By rearranging your furniture, there is a whole new opportunity to change the look of your place. Try moving your bed somewhere where the natural light hits or even rearrange your living room to have something else besides your television to be the focal point.

Tip #7: Buy New Lightbulbs

This is one of my favorite budget-friendly ways to change up my place. The lighting in a room can dramatically change the mood, whether dim or bright. I suggest to change out all of your bulbs for brighter ones to create a more inviting space.

Tip #8: Replace Your Outlet Covers

Though this may not be a top priority if you are on a budget, it can definitely make your place look more upgraded. Replace your outlet covers with something like the Power Perch to add more use to your outlets. The Power Perch is great to hold phones while they are charging or even plants!
