Incredible Swimming Pool Illusion

In 2004 a creative Argentinean artist, Leandro Erlich, built a fake swimming pool that looks real from the top. He suspended a 10cm layer of water over a transparent glass on the top, while beneath the glass the room is empty. The walls are also carefully designed to give a original look of a swimming pool. Currently these fake pools are installed at PS1 Art Center in New York and the 21st Century Art Museum in Kanazawa, Japan. You can see more works from the same artist here.

Trying to find a parking space in a busy city centre is always a stressful experience for any motorist.

There's the threat of getting a ticket for illegally parking or simply running out of change for the meter.

But the owner of this car went to extreme measures to dodge any prowling parking wardens by amazingly getting his vehicle into a very tight spot - 60ft up in the air.

The red Toyota Yaris was spotted perched on the balcony on the third floor of an apartment block in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev. How and why it got there is still a mystery.
It didn’t arrive by going out through the window and it would take great skills by a crane driver to lift it into position without smashing it up against the building.

Perhaps it was a very clever publicity stunt by the car manufacturer.

But whatever the answer to the riddle, you have to admire the driving skills of the motorist to get into such a tight spot. And there’s certainly no danger of getting a ticket.
The driver could of course be the owner of the flat and likes to have his own personal parking spot. But that would be car-azy.
And if he tried to make a quick getaway then he would be in big trouble.

Incredible Photos of 500 year old Frozen Inca Girl Mummy

Salta, Argentina - Buried within the peaks of South American moutains, researchers discovered the nearly perfect preserved remains of three Incan children. Sources indicate the names: The Maiden, The Boy and The Girl of Lightning. These remains were found in a cold and desolate summit of Mount Llullaillaco, the frigid isolation leaving remains so untouched by animals, bacteria and other humans that instead of looking like mummies, the remains look nearly alive.
Scientists examine the hair of a 15-year-old Incan girl whose nearly perfectly preserved body was discovered on the summits of Mount Llullaillaco.
Archaeologists speculate that the three children were part of an Incan religious sacrifice, explaining why their bodies do not have organs removed, to the point that even blood is still present within their hearts, vessels, lungs and organs. Those researching the site speculate that the children were huddled, either experiencing hypothermia or near-sleep as they froze to death and were left to time.

Unearthed from an untimely and lonely tomb the product of religious sacrifice, La Doncella — the fifteen-year-old Incan girl mummy — now sits in a museum in La Salta, Argentina, where people can come to observe and see first-hand the history of the people in the region.

Found at the burial site were artifacts common to Incans of the time.

Ukrainian Guy Turns His old Mitsubishi into Lamborghini

A motivated Ukrainian man has turned his 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Coupe into a Lamborghini Reventon in two years time.

Starting back in 2010, 30-year-old automotive enthusiast Alexander grabbed some friends and family members and began working on the parts that would be necessary to make the transformation.

The two-year process was photographed throughout, so you can see all the steps it took to turn a modest four-banger into a knockoff supercar.

Kudos to Alexander for the effort, but it still seems a bit… wrong.

A shopping mall in Kaliningrad, Russia celebrated its fifth anniversary by commissioning an artist to create a room entirely of chocolate. Russian sculptor Elena Climent carved it out of 420 kilograms of dark, milk and white chocolate. Measuring around 20 square meters, the delicious-looking room features furniture like a chocolate sofa, table and carpet, as well as chocolate cutlery, candle holders, and flowers. 40% of the room is made of dark chocolate, another 40% is milk chocolate, and the rest is white chocolate.

It then gives pedestrians the effect of being able to see right through the car. The trick was filmed so Mercedes can make a point about its environmentally-friendly F-Cell car, which produces no nasty emissions (just water vapor). Thanks to the fuel-cell technology on board, the vehicle can turn hydrogen into the electricity needed to drive around 240 miles.”

This unique building was temporarily covered in ten thousand items of discarded clothing in Brick Lane in East London. The idea came from Marks and Spencer to raise awareness on the amount of clothing that the UK citizens throw out every five minutes. Close to ten thousand, that’s how much.

Marks and Spencer’s idea is simple, instead of throwing out old or unwanted clothes M&S wanted everyone to bring their old unwanted clothes to their stores where it would be deposited in a ‘shwop’ drop box. What’s a ‘shwop’ drop box? Well the clothing you drop off will be passed on to their partners, Oxfam, an international non-profit organization that help people in poverty.

A Turkish Barber Selahattin Aytekin known as "Barber of fire" uses in his work fire and an ax, to shave his customers in the northwestern province of Balıkesir.
Aytekin said he had been using these exotic instruments since 39 years old, pointing out that he uses an ax sharpened to shave beards and a piece of cloth soaked in alcohol set fire to trim the hair.

Kowara Dede, is an Indonesian fisherman who becomes a tree ... This man is the victim of an extremely rare wart affecting the skin (Virus family of human papillomavirus HPV), it grows giant warts and mushrooms in the form of roots. This anomaly occurred in an accident at the knee when he was 15.

This man now aged 39, has members covered gray budding. His hands and feet are completely buried by the warts-shaped tree root. Filipino designer, "Clayton Tugunon " crafted a car from Coconut Flower Stalks, sea shells and other materials, in cooperation with the company car on the island of "Cebu" Philippines.
Car design resembles the design of model car "Porsche 356" of 1959. It took nine months to complete it.
The designer "Tugunon" Explains The car was created from purely locally sourced natural and recycled materials.
And it will help the Filipino economy because it proves that it is possible to creat a car without paying lots of money.

Chinese Hachiko Waits Outside for His Master from 9 to 5

A while back, we did this story on OC about a dog that wouldn’t leave his master’s grave. So I wasn’t exactly surprised when I heard about Wang Cai, but the faithful dog certainly deserves a mention. After all, he has waited for his master outside a local bank, from 9 am to 5 pm, every single day for the past 4 years.

Wang Cai was a homeless dog found wandering on the streets of Chongqing, China, four years ago, when a kind soul decided to adopt him. Ever since, he has been accompanying his new owner to work every morning and waited outside patiently for the next 8 hours, only to return home in the evening. According to the dog’s master, the behavior perplexed him at first, since he didn’t really train Wang Cai to do anything of the sort. The owner suspects that the dog might be waiting for his previous master, but he has no issues with the strange behavior.
The locals, however, are fascinated with Wang Cai’s unwavering loyalty. He’s being hailed as the Chinese version of Hachiko, the world-famous Japanese dog that waited for his deceased owner for 13 long years outside the Shibuya Train Station, Tokyo. Although Hachiko died in 1935, his faithfulness is still remembered by many. A dog’s loyalty is truly an incredible thing.

Giethoorn : A village with no roads!

Giethoorn is a walking city, also known as "Venice of the North" or "Venice of the Netherlands." This small town of 2,500 inhabitants located in the Dutch province of Overijssel.
Giethoorn is a car-free village because it has no roads. The main streets are replaced by canals and the houses are connected to the other shore by small wooden bridges. Everything is beautifully maintained, particularly those houses with thatched roofs.
All transports are done by water, over one of the many canals. There are also cycling path in this old village.
Giethoorn is an internationally well-known tourist attraction in the Netherlands, the visitors are welcome to enjoy the beauty of sceneries on a Whisper Boat (a special electric powered boat, which makes no noise).
