			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are a business, brand, or consultant, you need to have an online presence. It doesn’t matter if your work is “brick and mortar” or not, there is simply no reason not to have a website.</p>
<p>I can’t tell you how many times I have gone to Google to search for a restaurant, service, or other type of business to find more information only to come up with a big nada. My first thought at this point is that this business doesn’t want me to find them. I don’t care if you have a yellow pages entry or not, most of the time I’m not going to read it.</p>
<p>If you don’t have a website, you are missing out on a massive amount of revenue. You are not only leaving money at the table, but you are potentially closing your doors to new clients/buyers/customers.</p>
<p>Like most people, I am extremely pressed for time and I don’t really feel like calling you if I don’t have to. I want to be able to order online, email you with questions, or submit a service request without having the hassle of talking to someone on the phone.</p>
<p>I know, I know…you might be thinking that most of your customers don’t use the internet anyway or that your type of business isn’t one that needs an online presence. Well, my first response is that your customers don’t use the internet because you haven’t catered to the ones that do! I guarantee you that if you start building a hub online, that you will find a new breed of customer entering your door.</p>
<p>Even if you’ve got all the customers you can handle, think of what you can do with an online presence:</p>
<ol>
<li>Collect customer email addresses to advertise promotions or special offers.</li>
<li>Create an online service desk to make handling customer issues a “hands off” experience.</li>
<li>Brand your business to build its reputation.</li>
<li>Get noticed by trade publications or other media outlets.</li>
</ol>
<p>The list goes on and on…</p>
<p>So, now comes the fun part, the action plan. I’m going to lay it out for you nice and simple:</p>
<ol>
<li>Build a website with a landing page that details what you do, what you have to offer, and why people should buy from you. This page should have your brand logo or image as well as an email form to capture customer information. Make sure to include a phone number and email address.</li>
<li>Create a blog as an addition to your website. Your blog will not only help you collect more online real estate, but blogs are great Google food. You will have a much easier time getting noticed if you own keywords in your niche or location. You don’t have to blog every day, or every week for that matter, but you do need to post on a regular interval so that people know your blog/website isn’t dead.</li>
<li>Offer special links to promotions or discounts and update them regularly. There is nothing worse than clicking on a link to see someone’s promotions only to find that they are months old or inactive. No dead links or old content…period!</li>
</ol>
<p>Your blog is the hub for your business and is an excellent way to actively attract attention and stay hip at the same time. Your website will allow your customers to find you online and research without wasting your time or their time on the phone. Just make sure to monitor your email account so that you can provide service from all fronts. You will be amazed by the time you can save and the new business that you attract.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>OK, so you finally decided you need to get your personal or business brand up and running on Twitter, but you don’t know what to do next. I’ll admit, learning Twitter can be a difficult task at first, because you aren’t sure why anyone would follow you and why you should follow anyone else.</p>
<p>At first, you’ll probably think you should just invite family and friends, but that is probably not the best strategy. Although friends and family will help, you shouldn’t focus on them for branding efforts.</p>
<p>Instead, you need to find your future customers and put yourself in front of them. This includes using Twitter search, sites like Twitter Grader, and Twitter Counter to find other like minded individuals. Use these power users to build a basic following and then work to provide solid content via video and blogging so that you have something to share.</p>
<p>A pitch is not something that most people want to talk about, so spend more time talking about your niche and yourself than your pitch. Let people get to know you and don’t be afraid to get slightly personal. Give away content and information to establish yourself as an authority, which in turn will help you get coverage via RT’s (ReTweets) and @’s (replies). It only takes a base of 500-2000 people before your efforts will start to multiply on their own.</p>
<p>Another place you’ll need to do some work is your profile. Many people look past the important steps of setting up a power user’s profile, but if you really want to gain traction in your niche you’ll need to set up your account first. Here’s what you need to do:</p>
<p>1.Go to http://freetwitterdesigner.com and set up a background image for your profile. Make sure to include any relevant information about yourself that you can and also any profile or blog links that will fit. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to include a phone number, tag line, or address to give yourself some credibility. Depending on yor niche, you might want to include some product images as well.</p>
<p>2.Replace the default image with a good and professional picture of yourself. It doesn’t have to be formal, but it should represent you and your brand. People with default profile images are generally ignored, and that is certainly not the way you want to be treated. This is absoutely a must.</p>
<p>3.Create a well thought out bio and include as much about yourself as possible. Make it compelling, original, and catchy. Don’t lie or hype yourself up…just be real. This is where a lot of people go wrong. Also, don’t sound like a commercial, talk about what makes you different, don’t focus on the product.</p>
<p>Once you’ve got your profile set up, you can then move on to using the right methodology and techniques to find people in your niche to follow and then build a list from there. There are several ways to do this, but I prefer the bot-free method, which I talk about in my Twitter course called Twitter Rockstar.</p>

<p> Bringing in massive amounts of laser targeted traffic is the key to running a successful internet business. If you do not learn how to promote your online business, you will not have a business in the near future. There are many different ways to do this that cost little or no money.</p>
<p> Some people believe that marketing online is fairly simple, and it is for the most part. What I suggest is to find one method of marketing that you are very good at and to use that method over and over again. You can always learn how to promote your online business other ways some other time. But if what you are doing is working, stick with it!</p>
<p> Article marketing may be the very best way to market your online business. There are many article directories online that you can submit your articles to for free. You will be able to live a link back to your website in the authors resource box. Your website will move up in rankings in the search engines as you pick up more and more back links.</p>
<p> With article marketing you will get traffic two fold, through the articles themselves and through the search engines. The key to making your article marketing campaign work is consistency. Don&#8217;t over do it and don&#8217;t under do it. Some people submit 2 articles a week and some submit up to a handful or more per day. It really all depends on how competitive your niche is.</p>
<p> Instead of submitting one article to every article directory, submit a unique article to each. Submit the bulk of your articles to the top directories and submit to them often.</p>
<p> Using an article distribution service may be a good idea too. These services usually require a monthly fee but is well worth the cost if you can afford it. I personally use an article distribution service and I submit articles manually. I find that a comprehensive approach to distributing the articles works best.</p>
<p> After a few months of writing and submitting articles you will then see the targeted traffic begin to show. Keep it up and you will soon see that traffic begin to buy from you as well.</p>

That means having a defined, deliberate thought process to go through should your imagination fail you or take too long. This article will help you to do this important task.</p>
<p> It always helps to define terms up front (and clearly), so let&#8217;s get a few terms clarified so you can proceed to the fun part. (If you don&#8217;t think inventing a domain name is fun, you need to lighten up and enjoy the process!)</p>
<p> Navigating the virtual world</p>
<p> Do you know how a domain name works? You may see &#8220;Food.com,&#8221; and start salivating before you even get there, but computers and networks don&#8217;t use names for addresses, they use numbers. A domain name, then, is converted by the Internets&#8217; Domain Name Servers (DNS) into a number than represents a particular computer on the Internet. And, yes, some computers can have more than one domain name. At any rate, the number that the DNS produces for each computer is called an IP (Internet Protocol) address.</p>
<p> The IP addresses administered by the DNS allows computer users to find their way around the Internet by looking for these IP addresses, just like a delivery van will look for your home address to bring the packages to your door. The Internet brings &#8220;packets&#8221; (of data) to your virtual door in a similar manner, and the DNS makes it easier by using a familiar set of letters (a &#8220;domain name&#8221;) instead of the hard-to-memorize IP addresses. This lets you type www.yourcompany.com instead of 64.68.51.255 or some other number. </p>
<p> Good domain names</p>
<p> Do not choose a name that has nothing to do with your company or your website. Just because Amazon.com got away with it doesn&#8217;t mean you can. For one thing, company&#8217;s that came early to the Internet party had time to educate people as to names and everything else. The Internet is now moving much too quickly to afford you much time to explain what your domain name means. Better examples than Amazon would be eBay and PayPal, names that describe in short order what the websites are up to. In other words, if you are selling flowers don&#8217;t name your site Apples.com. And picking some kind of cute or oddball name makes no sense anymore, and might just confuse your audience.</p>
<p> Good domain names are neither too long nor too involved. The longer the name, the harder it is to remember. Would you be more likely to remember SaveYourData.com or RecoverDataFromYourCrashedHardDrive.com? This is not to say that short names are the way to go, however. You want a domain name that contains a few keywords that relate to the website and/or company focus, if possible.</p>
<p> Keywords and core ideas</p>
<p> To help your site earn higher placements and rankings with the major search engines, try to integrate a keyword or core idea into the domain name. Having a name like JaysAutoRepairs.com will do much better with search engines than JaysRepairs.com. With the first domain name you know the website fixes autos, whereas the second name doesn&#8217;t tell you what kind of repairs Jay does. This is not very conducive to helping steer the right people to your business. </p>
<p> You may find that some names or combinations of words that are already in use can be modified with the use of a hyphen or two. This is a much overlooked way to get a domain name that otherwise may not be available without the hyphens. If the domain name you want is NorthsideHaulers.com, and it is taken, you can consider using Northside-Haulers.com instead.</p>
<p> What about the actual domain type?</p>
<p> Much advice about naming domains tells you to try getting a .com name before settling for an alternative, such as .org or .net. This gets harder and harder to do as more and more names are being registered. Thinking about the domain angle is changing, and it probably better to rate your domain name on the part that comes before the &#8220;dot,&#8221; not the part after. A good, keyword-rich domain name will be of more value than a lesser word or phrase with a &#8220;.com&#8221; at the end.</p>
<p> You should also save as much money as possible on the domain names. You can get a domain name for less than $10 from several places, then transfer it for free to some other &#8220;parking spot.&#8221; This saves up to $20 on buying the name from a hosting company itself. A domain name is a domain name, and you should always save a little money whenever and wherever possible. </p>
<p> Self-defense, domain style</p>
<p> Protect your new name by registering multiple extensions (.net, .org, .biz, etc.) as this will deter others from copying it. If you own JustVWParts.com you can also register any other popular extensions that are available. You can have the secondary domains forward visitors to the main site. One more thing: If you have a name that is often misspelled, you might consider registering a domain in the misspelled version and redirecting that traffic, too. There is a thriving business in registering misspelled celebrity and company names &#8211; say, MercedezBenz.com &#8211; to take advantage of people&#8217;s bad spelling and typographical errors. For fun, take a look at what someone did to make a sales site out of &#8220;ebya.com,&#8221; a common misspelling of &#8220;eBay.&#8221;</p>
<p> It is very important to spend a bit of time thinking and playing with words and word pieces when trying to come up with the best domain name for your business. Try to work some keywords and/or core ideas into the domain name. Cover yourself with other low-cost domain extensions, and never stop thinking about what other clever, memorable names might work for you. You can direct any new domains to the same old site, so you don&#8217;t incur anything more than a very slight cost if you give your customers a number of different ways to find you.</p>

Newer internet marketers, and even some not-so-new to the industry, may be wondering just what SEO means, and how it applies to their own online business. Let&#8217;s take a quick overview of SEO and see how you can use it to leverage your own online business.</p>
<p> SEO, or search engine optimization, is a fancy term used to describe the activities used by webmasters to get the search engines to rank their websites higher in the search results. It&#8217;s generally known that the top three spots on any search results page will receive the vast majority of the click-through traffic, making those top spots very valuable. The old rule of &#8220;location, location, location&#8221; holds true for Internet traffic, as well as brick-and-mortar businesses. A top three position on Google is as valuable as a Rodeo Drive address.</p>
<p>  So an entire industry called SEO has been developed to help website owners attain those top search positions. The industry began in the mid-1990&#8217;s when YaHoo was born and the concept of keywords was first introduced. Webmasters quickly learned that the search engines looked favorably upon web pages that contained keywords that matched the search phrase being used. In the eyes of the search engines, the more keywords, the more relevant the page must be to the search topic. And thus, the concept of keyword stuffing was born.</p>
<p> By the turn of the century, many of the smaller search engines had fallen out of favor and Google had emerged as an 800-pound Google-rilla. At this point, keywords became a little less important to page ranking and more weight was given to the relative &#8220;importance&#8221; of the site &#8212; which was measured by the number of clicks the site received for certain keywords. </p>
<p> These days, both keywords and click-through rates remain part of the search engine equation, but they are not nearly as critical to page rank as proving that your site is &#8220;popular&#8221; among related sites. While Google refuses to publish its algorithm for determining search positions (for very good reasons), it is universally understood that page rank depends heavily on the quantity and quality of any inbound web links. Thus, modern day SEO efforts are geared toward building links from high quality sites related to the topic of the subject website.</p>
<p> And how is this done? The options are many and some SEO activities are definitely more effective than others. Some of the more effective SEO solutions include writing a good quality article and asking a high-ranking website to publish it, along with a link back to your website. You can trade links with other websites, but that is not as effective as having one-way links pointing to your site (Google can easily see the link pattern and discounts reciprocal links.) You can join blogs and forums that relate to your site, and leave a signature link back to your site. </p>
<p> But all of this activity takes time, and if you own more than one website, it&#8217;s very possible that you will need to outsource some, or all, of your SEO work. Your outsourcing options include hiring a specialized SEO company to review your site and implement the necessary activities. This option can be a little pricey and is usually used by only the largest online marketers (think WalMart). </p>
<p> Another option is to hire freelancers to help you identify potential link partners and then contact them for link opportunities. Freelancers can also write articles and blog posts for you. You can even hire freelancers to research keywords for you.</p>
<p> If you don&#8217;t want to manage a subcontractor, you may find that SEO software is your best solution. There are a number of good software programs that will help you identify the most profitable keywords, locate high-authority link partners, and automatically submit your site to search engines.</p>
<p> But once you gain a few good quality links to your website, don&#8217;t stop there or your website will gradually stagnate and lose favor with the search engines. Link building is an important ongoing marketing activity for any online business. Hopefully, you now have a better understanding of SEO and how you can use it to attain the best search engine rankings for your website.</p>

<p> Five years ago, there were 1500 different newsletters in this country. Today there are well over 10,000, with new ones being started every day. It&#8217;s also interesting to note that for every new one that&#8217;s started, some disappear just as quickly as they are started &#8211; lack of operating capital and marketing know-how being the principal causes of failure.</p>
<p> To be successful with a newsletter, you have to specialize. Your best bet will be with new information on a subject not already covered by an established newsletter.</p>
<p> Regardless of the frustrations involved in launching your own newsletter, never forget this truth: There are people from all walks of life, in all parts of this country, many of them with no writing ability whatsoever, who are making incredible profits with simple two-, four-, and six-page newsletters!</p>
<p> Your first step should be to subscribe to as many different newsletters and mail order publications as you can afford. Analyze and study how the others are doing it. Attend as many workshops and seminars on your subject as possible. Learn from the pros. Learn how the successful newsletter publishers are doing it, and why they are making money. Adapt their success methods to your own newsletter, but determine to recognize where they are weak, and to make yours better in every way.</p>
<p> Plan your newsletter before launching it. Know the basic premise for its being, your editorial position, the layout, art work, type styles, subscription price, distribution methods, and every other detail necessary to make it look, sound and feel like the end result you have envisioned.</p>
<p> Lay out your start-up needs; detail the length of time it&#8217;s going to take to become established, and what will be involved in becoming established. Set a date as a mile stone of accomplishment for each phase of your development: A date for breaking even, a date for attaining a certain paid subscription figure, and a monetary goal for each of your first five years in business. And all this must be done before publishing your first issue.</p>
<p> Market research is simply determining who the people are who will be interested in buying and reading your newsletter, and the kind of information these people want to see in your newsletter as a reason for continuing to buy it. You have to determine what it is they want from your newsletter.</p>
<p> Your market research must give you unbiased answers about your newsletter&#8217;s capabilities of fulfilling your prospective buyer&#8217;s need for information; how much he&#8217;s willing to pay for it, and an overall profile of his status in life. The questions of why he needs your information, and how he&#8217;ll use it should be answered. Make sure you have the answers to these questions, publish your newsletter as a vehicle of fulfillment to these needs, and you&#8217;re on your way!</p>
<p> You&#8217;re going to be in trouble unless your newsletter has a real point of difference that can be easily perceived by your prospective buyer. The design and graphics of your newsletter, plus what you say and how you say it, will help in giving your newsletter this vital difference.</p>
<p> Be sure your newsletter works with the personality you&#8217;re trying to build for it. Make sure it reflects the wants of your subscribers. Include your advertising promise within the heading, on the title page, and in the same words your advertising uses. And above all else, don&#8217;t skim on design or graphics!</p>
<p> The name of your newsletter should also help to set it apart from similar news letters, and spell out its advertising promise. A good name reinforces your advertising. Choose a name that defines the direction and scope of your newsletter.</p>
<p> Opportunity Knocking, Money Making Magic, Extra Income Tip Sheet, and Mail Order Up-Date are primate examples of this type of philosophy &#8211; as opposed to the Johnson Report, The Association Newsletter, or Club-house Confidential.</p>
<p> Try to make your newsletter&#8217;s name memorable &#8211; one that flows automatically. Don&#8217;t pick a name that&#8217;s so vague it could apply to almost anything. The name should identify your newsletter and its subject quickly and positively.</p>
<p> Promoting your newsletter, finding prospective buyers and converting these prospects into loyal subscribers, will be the most difficult task of your entire undertaking. It takes detailed planning, persistence and patience.</p>
<p> You&#8217;ll need a sales letter. Check the sales letter you receive in the mail; analyze how these are written and pattern yours along the same lines. You&#8217;ll find all of them &#8211; all those worthy of being called sales letters &#8211; following the same formula: Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action on the part of the reader &#8211; AIDA.</p>
<p> Jump right in at the beginning and tell the reader how he&#8217;s going to benefit from your newsletter, and then keep emphasizing right on through your &#8220;PS&#8221;, the many and different benefits he&#8217;ll gain from subscribing to your newsletter. Elaborate on your listing of benefits with examples of what you have, or you intend to include, in your newsletter.</p>
<p> Follow these examples with endorsements or testimonials from reviewers and satisfied subscribers. Make the recipient of your sales letter feel that you&#8217;re offering him the answer to all his problems on the subject of your newsletter.</p>
<p> You have to make your prospect feel that &#8220;this is the insider&#8217;s secret&#8221; to the success he wants. Present it to him as his own personal key to success, and then tell him how far behind his contemporaries he is going to be if he doesn&#8217;t act upon your offer immediately.</p>
<p> An acknowledgment letter, in an envelope, will cost more postage to mail than a simple postcard; however, when you send the letter you have to opportunity to enclose additional material. A circular listing other items available through you will produce additional orders.</p>
<p> Thus far, you&#8217;ve prepared the layout and copy for your newsletter. Go ahead and have a hundred copies printed, undated. You&#8217;ve written a sales letter and prepared a return reply subscription order card or coupon; go ahead and have a hundred of these printed, also undated, of course. You&#8217;ll need letterhead mailing envelopes, and don&#8217;t forget the return reply envelopes if you choose to use the coupons instead of the business reply postcard. Go ahead and have a thousand mailing envelopes printed. You also need subscription order acknowledgment cards or notes; have a hundred of these printed, and of course, don&#8217;t forget the imprinted reply envelopes if you&#8217;re going along with the idea of using a note instead of a postcard. This w ill be a basic supply for &#8220;testing&#8221; your materials so far.</p>
<p> Now you&#8217;re ready for the big move &#8211; the Advertising Campaign.</p>
<p> Start by placing a small classified ad in one of your local newspapers. You should place your ad in a weekend or Sunday paper that will reach as many people as possible, and of course, do everything you can to keep your costs as low as possible. How ever, do not skimp on your advertising budget. To be successful &#8211; to make as much money as possible with your idea &#8211; you&#8217;ll need to reach as many people as you can afford, and as often as you can.</p>
<p> Move slowly, start with a local, far-reaching and widely read paper, and with the prof its or returns from that ad, go to the regional magazines, or one of the smaller national magazines, and continue plowing your returns into more advertising in different publications. By taking your time, and building your acceptance in this manner, you won&#8217;t lose too much if one of your ads should prove to be a dud. Stay with the advertising. Do not abandon it in favor of direct mail. We would not recommend direct mail until you are well established and your national classified advertising pro gram is bringing in a healthy profit for you.</p>
<p> Do not become overly ambitious and go out on a limb with expensive full-page advertising until you&#8217;re very well established. When you do buy full page advertising, start with the smaller publications, and build from those results. Have patience; keep close tabs on your costs per subscriber, and build from the profits of your advertising. Always test the advertising medium you want to use with a classified ad, and if it pulls well for you, go on to a larger display type ad.</p>
<p> Classified advertising is the least expensive way to go, so long as you use the &#8220;inquiry method.&#8221; You can easily and quickly build your subscriber list with this type of advertisement.</p>
<p> We would not recommend any attempts to sell subscriptions, or any product from classified ads, or even from small display ads. There just isn&#8217;t enough space to describe the product adequately, and seeing the cost of your item, many possible subscribers will not bother to inquire for the full story.</p>
