Wow, 6 months since my last post. Wondering what I’ve been up to? Honestly, probably not, but I’m going to post about it anyway. And as a bonus to the reader, I’ll cut right to the chase: I’m back to playing my shaman full time! I’ve been playing him full time now for almost four months. All thanks to dual specs.

With almost all goods news comes some bad other news. My primary spec is now restoration (secondary spec is still enhancement). I have to admit that I’m loving it. I like the healing style of the shaman more than the druid – it just fits me better. Plus, I managed to switch my main without interfering with my guild’s progression through Ulduar (more details on that after the break). Wowhead Character Profiler

I just saw a post from WoW.com that Wowhead just released their new character profiler site. It works similar to other character profiles in that it pulls data from the armory, but has the added convenience of integrating directly with wowhead.com. That’s the best of both worlds! The site includes some nifty features like the ability to compare gear or search for upgrades directly from your profile. It also shows your raid progression, current gems and enchants, and even a gear score so you can see where your character fits with everyone else. You can also save profiles so you can show off multiple sets of gear and even a wish list set if you have one. Finding Shaman Pre-Naxx Gear

I started doing some research on what gear is best for enhancement shaman. I found that there are plenty of pre-made lists out there for up-and-coming raiding shaman, but what I want to show is how to find the gear. To show you what to look for and how to look for it. One of my favorite quotes is:

Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime.

Enhancement Shaman Changes in 3.1

Once again patch day is upon us. Patch 3.1 is a significant update to World of Warcraft. It adds a whole new instance (Ulduar), an option to dual-spec, the Argent Tournament with lots of daily quests to run (think Sunwell Isle), several UI improvements, and tons of class changes.

The changes to the shaman class are not that sevear in my opinion. Our elemental totems get a buff, Flametongue Weapon now scales with weapon speed, and Lava Lash gains a new icon! Enhancement Shaman Glyphs

Glyphs are all the rage these days. They’re a new way for players to modify spells and abilities. At level 70, players have 3 minor glyph slots and 2 major slots. The last major slot is awarded at level 80. With a limited number of slots and plenty of glyphs to chose from the choices can be complicated. Enhancement Shaman Leveling Build

The basic enhancement shaman leveling build is 0/32/0. Its complete at level 41 and allows shamans to dual wield, which is more fun than it is effective early on. It also gives the shaman Stormstrike, which is a key enhancement ability. As with any leveling build there are a few options and a few caveats. The Windfury Weapon enchant is the bread and butter of an enhancement shaman’s damage output. Weapon selection plays a key role in maximizing the amount of damage the shaman can do. This post will cover how to get the most out of the shaman’s windfury weapon enchant and which weapons will work best for dealing the most damage.

In short, shaman want to dual wield the slowest pair of one-handed weapons they can find and put windfury weapon on both weapons. This is statistically the best method for producing the highest DPS. Enhancement Shaman in Wrath of the Lich King

The Wrath of the Lich King expansion is set to bring some interesting all-around class changes and shaman are certainly no exception. Shaman get a new crowd control ability, a new ranged damage spell, plus enhancement shaman in particular receive some talents to both enhance their damage output as well as make their off-spec abilities usable. Enhancement Shaman PvP Build

As an introductory post I’d like to talk about my enhancement shaman Kieron and his current 0/42/19 talent build. I almost exclusively pvp on this toon. His gear is decent for battlegrounds and starter arena matches. He’s one piece shy of having a full mix of epic pvp gear — I just need a 1550 rating. His talent spec is about 90% of a typical enhancement/restoration pvp build with one small twist that allows me to break the monotony of the battlegrounds.
