Nice post, Alex. (I couldn't handle that there were no comments on this one. Seriously. It deserves at least one comment. And this is one comment. There is now proof that this post is appreciated.)

After the McDonald's hashtag debacle don't be surprised if a lot of major brands shy away from incorporating Twitter into one of their campaigns. Community managers can only do so much.

What's my hashtag you ask? #nooneeverleavesacommentonmyblog

A buddy and i had an idea for a revolutionary documentary about the iPhone's jailbreak world and we put up it up on kickstarter. We never raised the funds so we didn't get any of it and i feel like this is the norm. I mean, ODDIO1 has 7 days to raise 30K, its not looking too good.

There's no denying gesture based UIs will someday replace mouse and keyboard inputs. Technologies like Pranav Mistry's SixthSense UI ( http://bit.ly/x3SSon ) and more recently Apple's Siri, suggest we're heading towards a dematerialized future of seemingly invisible devices where screen based interfaces will be replaced by more natural forms of input (e.g. speaking and more physical body movements).
I recall seeing John Underkoffler demo g-speak UI research at FITC back in 2010. It was amazing. Underkoffler believes we're 5 to 7 years away from interfaces similar to Minority Report, though I predict the next great mind/machine UI leap will be cybernetic implants akin to The Matrix or Brainstorm (yes, that 1983 movie starring Christopher Walken).

The annual report looks fabulous - great idea to turn it from a typical report into a fabulous keepsake. Huge thanks to everyone at Struck for their support of the Forest Park Conservancy and one of Portland's biggest environmental treasures.

Well said. 'Differentiate or die' is not nearly strong enough any more. 'Get vertical or die' is the new model. If Louis CK isn't enough of an example, Starbucks and Apple are certainly vertical monsters and own their experience from field/factory to retail experience.

ps - Viva el Bakersfield!

All of these characteristics are so key to the success of projects. I don't think, however, that they all need to reside in a CD. Having a vision that is based off of objectives and concept combined with mentoring and a strong strategic sense seems paramount to a great leader. I see this in so many other industries and mediums, film especially.
