The Great Gatsby: Music From Bas Luhrmann’s Film Soundtrack debuts in the #1 Top Rock Album of the week for May 25, 2013. The album was produced by Anton Monstead, Baz Luhrmann, and executive producer Jay-Z. “Young and Beautiful” performed by Lana Del Ray was the album’s first single released (April 23, 2013).

There are 18 different artist that contribute to the songs on the album. These artist include Beyoncé, Fergie, Jay-Z, will.i.am, and Nero, to name a few. Since its release on May 6, 2013, it has already charted at #4 on the Canadian Albums Chart, #1 on the US Alternative Albums, Top Rock Album, and Soundtrack Albums. In addition, it has already charted at #2 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Killswitch is hitting the road to promote their new album, Disarm the Descent, which was released on April 2, 2013. Current touring members include Jess Leach on lead vocals, Adam Dutkiewicz on guitars and backing vocals, Joel Stroetzel on guitars, Mike D’Antonio on bass guitar, and Justin Foley on drums.

The group’s genre of music is considered metalcore, which combines sounds from hardcore and extreme metal. They mix singing, screaming vocals and growls in their music. In 2009 they were named The Greatest Metal Bands of all Time.

The duo Justice released their second live album, Access All Arenas, on May 7, 2013. It was recorded on July 19, 2012 at the Arena of Nimes, which is a Roman amphitheater that was built around 70 AD. Although the official release date was May 7, it was released on May 2 on the Justice website. Between the recording and the release of this album, Justice headlined shows at the Coachella Valley Music Festival in Indio, California, the Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco, California, and the Voodoo Experience in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This French electronic music duo is made up of Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Auge. They are best known for incorporating a strong rock and Indie influence into their image and music. Justice has released two studio albums, † in 2007, and Audio, Video, Disco in 2011. Their first live album was released in 2008, A Cross the Universe.

At the Victoires de la Musique (an annual French award ceremony), Justice won Album de musiques electroniques in 2012 for Audio, Video, Disco. In all, the group has been nominated for 15 awards for their music and has won six of them. This includes four nomination for a Grammy Award, in which they won Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for “Electric Feel (Justice Remix)” in 2009.

The album, Tears on Tape by HIM, is Billboard.com’s Top Hard Rock Album of the Week for May 18, 2013. It is the eighth studio album by HIM. Released on April 26, it makes its debut in the number one spot. The Tears on Tape album is the follow-up to the bands last album, XX-Two Decades of Love Metal which was released in 2012. Three singles have already been released, including “Into the Night” on March 8, “Tears on Tape” on April 4, and “All Lips Go blue” on May 6.

HIM was formed in 1991 by Ville Valo, Mikko “Linde” Lindstrome, and Mikko “Mige” Paananen. Current members include the original three plus Janne “Emerson Burton” Puurtinen, and Mika Karppinen. The band uses the heartagram, which represents light and dark, love and death, and good and evil, as their trademark symbol.
