Glasgow City Centre

I find myself out and about with my little Canon G9 camera more and more these days. In fact so far this year I have shot more with it than I have with my pro gear, go figure!

Anyway, I digress.. My poor lappy has taken quite a beating of late, between the battery blowing up! Yes, you read right, it blew up… Then I took it to get repaired at my local Apple store and even after 14 days at the “Church of Jobs”, I got it home and it crashed almost immediately. Although not in the store when they asked me to test it. Sneaky! So back up to Glasgow I went the other day and this time Gordy and his band of merry Mac Heads are throwing the kitchen sink at it and replacing just about everything inside. Thankfully on their dime and not mine!

I used to drive up into the city but these days its easier and less stressful to get the train mainly because Glasgow is becoming a bit of nightmare for parking and it costs a small fortune which is better spent on a Starbucks Hot Choccy!

The image above was made on the way the Apple store and I am pretty sure it sits on the corner of Gordon Street and Buchanan Street. Right at the corner is TGI Fridays and one of these days I will remember to go there before the lunchtime queues start to form. There is nothing worse than having to queue for lunch… especially for da man!

Anyway that was last Monday and I got the call to go and pick up the lappy, which I will do in due course later on this week as I have a long To-Do list thats screaming for my attention.

Brig O Doon

A view from the Brig O Doon in Alloway made famous by the poet Robert Burns. This is a series of images stitched together into a panorama for the Totally Dynamic HDR Training DVD. This location means a lot to me because back in 2003 I got married in the Brig O Doon hotel thats in the photograph.

Isle of Arran Distillery

This shot was created as part of a series for the Isle of Arran Whisky Distillery. The chap in the photo was very helpful on the day and full of insightful information about the whisky making process. The image was made in the bond warehouse where they store the casks for up to 50 years.

The Fields of Croy

This image is actually a composite of 2 shots taken within minutes of each other and a real favourite of mine, because it was taken on one of those days where I just had to get out of the office and go shoot something, anything, to keep me from going insane! In the background is the world famous “Electric Brae”. Its described in Wikipedia as gravity hill where cars are mysteriously drawn up the hill by some strange force.

London Marathon
