Sick of the silence

Hey guys,

I know you haven’t heard from me in a while, but what can I say? I have no excuse.

I had no problems with my internet, I wasn’t too busy with uni, work wasn’t too bad… there’s no point in me making up something. I just stopped writing.

But maybe things will change now! I don’t promise anything though!

Well to be honest, I liked raising my voice on this website and I hereby invite you again to participate if you want to. Talking about whatever it is that’s bothering you. I, personally, I am fed up with keeping my voice down.

Don’t you ever have that day when you just want to scream?! Whether it is just to let people know you’re there, or to moan about something. I just had one of those days. The only problem is you sometimes find that even when you scream nobody’s listening. The only normal thing to do is go and find a crowd. More often than not, that crowd will like your shouting and your shouting will only turn into a laughter. The question is how long will the laughter last until it turns into a yell again?

So, I am here saying I don’t want to be like a mouse, saying that I want to scream, smile and stop sleeping. What about you?

I have covered some tips in the past about how being in college, we can make money and have listed such site. Here is another such site which pays you to write content for them. the site site is http://ekikrat.in and though it is India based site, I think they are fine with non Indian writers too.

So far I have written 5 technology articles and have got paid for the content though I am not sure they have even used my content. The summer is over but I will try to write few more articles there, You can check what kind of articles they are accepting by checking here

Summer’s here. We’ve all been waiting for summer time. No exams. Warm weather. Everything you wish for!But what are we going to do? Where do we spend our summer?

Some students have decided to work to save some money and some are going home to see their parents. But let’s not get bored! It’s summer!

We have the responsibility and right to have fun during the summer. Whether you choose it to spend it on a sunny Spanish beach or at a mountain French resort, it has to be fabulous!

Britain’s most talented is….

It’s saturday evening and the ITV’s website has their server too busy, bearly being able to cope with so many demands. Why? Today is the final of the British show Britain’s got talent. Judges and the people at home have chosen 10 best acts of the thousands that auditioned. Everyone gave an incredible performance and it has been an outstanding night. Now we are all keeping our fingers crossed for our favourites while the 2 presenters announce the WINNER.

Announcing the 3rd place the presenters relief the cheering crowd.

JULIAN SMITH -- the saxophonist wins 3rd place.

“In no particular order the best two acts go to:

SUSAN BOYLE and DIVERSITY

SUSAN BOYLE -- the Hairy Angel who gave an outstanding performance wins 2nd place. Unbelievable!

DIVERSITY - the group dance who literally nailed it tonight win the first place. They won it fair and square! In all shapes and sizes and colours Diversity proved energy, great coreography and lots and lots of dedication and enthusiam!

The two finalists are mute and hold their breaths while the winner of Britain’s got Talent 2009 is announced.

It was Susan Boyle who gripped the British public on Britain’s got talent ITV show. Unlike her appearance, her voice is truly fantastic. She impressed a strict group of judges, of which Simon Cowell is know to be harsh and franc with flaws regarding what people show on the TV programme.

Her performance of I dreamed a dream astonished everyone who judged her when she stepped in that stage. She appeared to be nothing like a flashy Barbie doll, quite the opposite. In fact, her looks are what make her so special. Or at least used to be.

Despite Amanda’s warnings, the female judge in the show, that Boyle should remain as she is, Susan went to a salon in her home town, Blackburn, in Scotland and got a small makeover. Nevertheless, producer and judge on the show Simon, did not spare her. “Get yourself together sweetheart for the big one — the semi-final. Shut the door, choose the right song and come back as who you are, not who you want to be,” he said.

However, Susan was not the only amazing contestant on the talent show. Shaheen Jafargholi is a 12 year old who also gave an outstanding performance on the show of the song Who’s loving you from Michael Jackson. Here you can judge on your own.

Good Evans, a family with 5 members, and Hollie Steel, age 10, are also among the favourites, showing fantastic voices.

Got a job?

Spring holiday has ended and all the few jobs that were advertised in windows are gone. If you were looking for a job and you didn’t get one, now it’s too late.

It’s clear that credit crunch does affect everyone. It’s not all about people being taken out of their homes. It’s also about students struggling with accommodation and looking to get hired anywhere. There’s some pocket money as well in that hoursly wage. Even if it’s just a poor looking pub or a fancy store like Zara.

Now all our chances are to stay put and wait for the summer to start. That’s the moment when everyone is going home, and if you’re not, than lucky you!

Right for all the wrong reasons

Do you want to make a difference? Do you want to feel good about yourself?

This used to be a hard thing to do, but now one can simply be a volunteer. Something a bit familiar to many students (simply because they have more time than others). Sometimes students just want to work to help people or sometimes just because they need references on their CVs. (sometimes clearly states this happens in some cases)

With so many people in need, nobody thinks ill of the ones that help. They shouldn’t either. But are they really doing this to help people? Easy work (or hard, depends on which area are you volunteering to work for) can draw praise from others. While everyone else praises his or hers selflessness, they can receive more than spiritual rewards. A perfect social image is a powerful thing, especially in the wrong hands. One can even call it cheating in earning respect. This is not about preventing people to join a volunteering group. Because volunteering is something that should be unconditional, irregardless if one gets something in return or not.

It is humanity that catches the public’s eye. Nowadays showing our emotional side brings not shame, but proves virtue. Feeding the hunger and healing the sick is all great, but why do they do it? This shouldn’t be about personal gain. One cannot argue that they benefit the society. They are good people, just for the wrong reason

And don’t think we’ve abandoned you! After having submitted our assignments and uni projects, we’re ready to be committed 24/7 to STUDENT-BLOG.NET. Our break came exactly at the right time. I hope Easter will allow you have a good rest before summer exams finally catch up with us all. Unbelievable how time flies by! It seems like yesterday when we were looking forward to the Christmas holiday…

Higher tuition fees ?

Many universities in Britain are making pressures to increase the tuition fees asked for an undergraduate degree.Universities want to raise the fees suggesting values between £4,000 and £20,000 per year. This would lead the students to a debt of over £32,000 pounds after graduation. A group of students are planning a lobby in front of House of Commons in a protest against increasing fees.
