There is no doubt that grime music is full of good riddims. However, these days we can observe tendency that number of big riddim deceased. Furthermore, there is less money now in grime business than 5/4 years ago and we know which patch chose Dizzee, Kano or Wiley. Nevertheless, the Eskiboy is still deeply involved in grime nicely balancing between commercial music and grime. Riddims in grime music was essentials. There was not enough producers and to many man to rap. Moreover, grime sound was just developing slowly. Riddim allowed You pick mc whose style, flow, rhymes are better than others mc spittin bars on the same beat.

Lethal B feat . East London finest- Pow !

You need to agree on that, this tune was big and it’s big .Produced by Dexplicit, opened door for grime music in media and whole attention was on the grime artist. Pow was banned on Nothing Hill Carnival in 2005 for causing aggression and mayhem dance among youths. Popularity of Pow made grime music available in HMV but before that only 4 specialist shops in London (like Rhythm Division, Independence Music etc) was selling grime cd and DVD. On the music side we had great mc’s , great flow, big styles. We can argue who was the best on it but definitely D Double E, Neeko, Demon, Jamakabi, Napper. Every 8bars of these guys can have rewinds in the clubs and concerts. Fans response for Pow was massive.

Ska Riddim – Nikki & Nyke(Milkymans)

Contains sample of ska track The Specials – Gangsters tunes hit the charts and was big on the road. The whole concept was parody of grime gangsta, aggressive, dark image of music. Milkymas tried to show different side of grime that music does not need to be so dark. Mc’s like Doctor, Bashy , Desperado and absolutely stunning Flirta D makes this one of most memorable riddim.

Sidewinder Riddim- Gods Gift, Tinchy Stryder, Flow Dan, Rapid, Shifty, Skepta, Jammer, Slicks,Trim.

Produced by Wiley , beat is massive and mc’s associated with roll deep, E3 went hard on this one. Those grime artist representing equally good level , tune is energetic and Trim verses stay in mind for long ” this is my playground I’ll play the bully”

Dj Mondie – Straight riddim

Beat is heavy, based on two bass sounds pattern but because of mc’s this straight banger. Yardie style spittin mc’s like Jamakabi, God’s Gift or Shizzle went hard on this.

Lethal b – Forward 2/ Forward 2 (Fire Camp)

Both was produced by Dexplicit . Pow 2011 is big disaster comparing to those two riddims. There are two versions. In first we have various artist from grime scene like Bruza, JME, Kano etc. This tune is worth to listen because of Flirta D part. One word- sick! This dude, made sound effect instead rapping but that was his brand mark. Ghetto and Lady Fury rap is nice two but Kano is not close to his full potential make him average mc there.

Fire Camp version beat is one of my all time favourites and this is should represent grime sound. Ozzie B part was awesome and 2Face killed it.

Which The Neptunes' beat is the the best?

Time when The Neptunes was top producers is gone. They are still banging good beats however is rare to see chart smasher made by Neptunes or innovative beat. Moreover, Neptunes seems to be less creative than few years ago. I know we can talk about Neptunian sound and thing that all beats sound similar but those dudes’ productions are less catchy. Did you ever wonder which Neptunes beat is the best? Many will say Drop it like it hot. I will say this is most popular and most recognizable beat. Although in my point of view, there are three great beats by Pharrell and Chad

1. Grindin - The Clipse (simple pattern kick & snares are insane, it will destroyed Your audio speakers and sub woofer)

2. Southern Hospitality- Ludacris (you got to love kick and synths)

3.Grimey/Full Mode – NORE (headbangers)

Vybz Kartel without doubt was no1 Jamaican dancehall deejay. Lyrics, flow, and his image of the Gaza thug make him more popular than Beenie or Bounty. Nevertheless, things changed. More money more problems and more friends became enemies. Many artists associated with him left and he gets involved in many beefs. Gaza emperor starts recording worse and worse songs. Addi di Teacha aka Vybz Kartel now is radio friendly artist but fans want old Kartel back

Frankly, this Adidas advert is mint. Why three stripes brand don’t make commercials like this anymore? I know Bekham is global, marketing face but he is boring. Although he has nothing to do with street, fashion,adidas originals, and he will not target youngsters (except those who play football ) J2K is dope mc I will say lyrical best of Roll Deep crew, beat is heavy whole thing is bumping . I found this in 2005 on the Risky Roads dvd and probably this was never emitted on the TV.

Not many people now about Sky B.O.S.S show which was on the Skyrock radio since 1999 until 2004. I strongly believe that it was one of the best European live hiphop show in public radio(however they transmitted that show from own basement ). I know there is cut killer show, shortee blitz, dj mk or Westwood in UK but sky boss was better than any others. . In BOSS was JoeyStarr, Dj Spank, Dj Nuaghty J, Dj James, Terror Seb and those guys know how to mix and create great show. BOSS refer to Boss of Scandalz Strategyz which was also collective of associated artist (Iron Sy, Naja, Nathy etc) and producers (Speed Bond).They crated 3 great albums and BOSS vs. IV my people Clash which is NTM remix album. Live mixing, juggling, freestyles and everything that you understand what word “show” means. US rap , French and dancehall+ reggae dominated the air .

This is very influential movie for many rap video directors. Basically movie is about New York gangs in the 70s’. The gangs want to run New York City and dominate over the police. Although gang called The Warriors are framed for killing a gang leader trying to unite all the gangs in the area. Great movie, cool gangs and lots of fun watching.

2010 was pretty good for hiphop industry with plenty of dope mixtapes and albums .In my point of view the headbanger of the 2010 is B.M.F by Rick Ross. This dude dropped dope mixtape “Albert Anastasia” and later on album “Teflon don”. B.M.F was on both. Moreover, on “Teflon don” B.M.F feature Styles P. Ricky got streets’ respect and commercial success. B.M.F hook is just crazy!
