The look was teamed with nude pointy pumps, a clutch bag and accessories.  Kate Hudson’s often sports a more laid back effortless approach to her and to complete the look she decided to go for a messy, centre-parted braid.

Here is how we cloned her look by scouring the stores of some of our favourite clothes retailers.  We have picked a very simple cut out dress from Topshop and added a splash of glamour with sparkling accessories and fabulous footwear.  We especially love the beaded embellished hard case clutch by Sunita Mukhi.

The Kate Hudson cut out dress look is great as party season is fast approaching.  I am not sure about you but every weekend from mid November to December is packed with party dates with friends, family and colleagues so the cut out dress is a perfect dress to show off your best assets.  Obviously for Kate Hudson it is her killer abs.  You can see she has gone for cut outs just above her hips to show off her fab waist.  Cut out dresses can suit all but remember the cut out should always be where you want to show off your best assets.

Indian brides traditionally wear a hoop nose ring connected to an earring on their wedding day and Kendell Jenner was seen wearing something reminiscent of this at the Coachella festival. Paired with a tube top and a headscarf wrapped round like a hairband, the enormous silver hoop ring, connected to an earring via a chain definitely suggested inspiration from the South Asian sub continent.

As my ethnic origin is also of a South Asian decent, however I decided against wearing the hoop ring. The reason being is that such a large item hides most of your face. If you have paid good money for a make up artist it kind of defeats the object. Also, I think they are a potential safety hazard. Imagine being greeted by an over enthusiastic guest who accidentally pulled against the chain and yanks the nose ring off! Ouch!

We’ve seen these on the runway before, however this is the first time I have seen something so large being worn by a celebrity. So could we see more this trend catching on in the mainstream? If your daring enough then you can find similar items at most South Asian bridal shops. Unfortunately, this a trend that I won’t be adopting!

JD Sports boasts a huge collection of Converse, which when it came down to it, made deciding on a pair pretty tricky. The days of deciding only between hi-top and low top ‘Ox’, have gone and Converse as a brand have branched into a myriad of new styles, from Rhinestone versions of their classic styles to slightly more feminine versions of their ‘Ox’ shoes, there really is a pair for every personality. As I already own the white ‘Ox’ I decided to opt for the hi-top version, the very first style that I owned all those years ago but in a much more understated colour than candy pink!

The shoes arrived in the trademark long and thin black and brown cardboard box, with the Converse footprint on the lid with the shoes themselves wrapped in the usual branded tissue paper. The shoes were absolutely gleaming white (and as usual I promised myself that this pair would stay as white as possible). As you can imagine,  they didn’t stay in the box for very long. The material is a very good quality canvas with the circular Converse ‘All Star Chuck Taylor’ logo on the side attached to a thick rubber sole. One thing that has always impressed me with Converse is their durability, you can wear them to death and apart from sometimes looking a little grubby as the canvas does tend to show every tiny mark; the quality of them never changes. I still have the very first pair I bought and even after years of wearing to gigs and on long days out, they are still completely wearable.

As you can see from the photos, I pair mine with everything from a little t-shirt dress, some tights and a parka for a trip to a local Christmas Market to skinny jeans and jumpers for days out shopping. As  you might expect expect, the shoes are amazingly comfy all day, even when they’ve come straight from the box which I find is a bit of a rarity. The thick soles mean they are super comfortable on the feet and canvas material means that you don’t get as much of a risk of rubbing, something that tends to happen with most new shoes for me. I can’t sing the praises of these shoes enough.

They look fab, they’re comfy and they last for years. There isn’t much else that I could look for in a shoe, and I think I for one will remain a dedicated Converse fan!

Katy Perry is probably the Queen of fun fashion; as one of the most sartorially varied celebrities of today she always manages to catch your eye and step out in a new look.

Here, Katy Perry showcases another unique look which she wore to a celebrity party, eschewing girly glamour in favour of a pared down more grungy look. With a pop of pink on her metallic rucksack and nails, she keeps this look fun.

Exciting news for female fans of Alexa, a chance to truly get your hands on something she has designed, after years of girls and women emulating her look.

Most women, either consciously or sub-consciously, has at some point worn something Alexa-inspired. The dungaree dress trend? Worn first by her. Denim shorts and a demure blouse? Her! A leather biker jacket thrown over a prim evening dress? You guessed it…

On her style, Alexa stated to The Guardian :“Well, hopefully if people are responding to my look, it’s because I dress for myself. […] If I know something’s expected of me, I won’t wear it or do it,” she says. “It just seems boring.”

Alexa genuinely dressed a generation, so 2014 will be the year to glimpse her designing skills.

Although, of course, Alexa has dipped her toe into the pool of design before, she has collaborated with beauty brand Eyeko, as well as fronting campaigns for Maje, Superga, L’Oreal and Lacoste. All of this as well as her very first book, ‘It’, which delves into her lifestyle and fashion inspiration.

On her busy schedule, Alexa said: “I need some time to think about it!” Chung said of the collection. “That’s going to be the first opportunity where I haven’t had a nine-to-five job… I’ve kind of been doing Eyeko, I wrote a book, I did Fuse every day, and various other design gigs and DJing. So this will be the first time to actually sort of sit down and think about it.”

So, from her collection we can expect the fashion staples (shorts, blouses, ballet pumps) as well as expecting a dash of the unexpected.

I can’t think of anyone else better suited to an edgy, designer campaign. Rihanna oozes a sultry yet effortless style. The clothes is the adverts look like they were made with completely her in mind. The pastel shades with heavy gold embellishment and jewellery looks set to be a great look for the upcoming spring/summer season. The glossy adverts are due to appear in magazines from January, giving you plenty of time to lust over the designer clobber.

The labels creative director, as well as describing Rihanna as an ‘icon’, also went on to use the popstar’s own lyrics in a statement:

“In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world,” said Rousteing. “When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete.”

The styling for the shoot was actually done by Rihanna’s personal stylist (what a job…) Mel Ottenberg, and the shoot took place in New York.

This isn’t Rihanna’s first foray into modelling, as she has previously modelled for Armani Jeans, another high profile fashion brand under her belt. And, with the pictures looking the way they do, it seems inevitable that Rihanna will model again. I guess we’ll just start having to place bets on which fashion house will snap her up next.

The American actress looks amazing as she shows off her style credentials, taking street style to a new level in this covetable outfit which makes an impact but is also completely wearable. the focus of the look is the brightly patterned jumper which is a definite staple this winter. She wears a short underneath and rolls up the sleeves, adding a necklace under the collar for some chic clashing. A black leather-look pleated skirt and patent knee high boots tone the bright colours down, but the teal bag is a unique choice to add a nice clashing of colours.

Jessica’s look can be easily recreated with pieces from the high street, as long as you have some bravery in the jumper department… This one is by design house Meadham Kirchoff for Topshop and is hand knitted to perfection, providing the perfect central piece to the look. Team with a pared down grey shirt with the collar poking out and roll the sleeves up together (if it isn’t too chilly) for a more relaxed look. A chunky necklace to sit under the collar on the jumper adds a bit of sparkle.

To bring the look together, nab a bargain with this Miss Selfridge pleated skirt in the sale at £12! A more investment piece would be these leather, knee high boots which would work every year with pretty much anything. For the handbag, this boxy, teal little number steers clear of safe black to make a bit more of an impact, and it really brings out the teal colour in the jumper.

All that’s left to do is pull your hair into a top-knot and add your favourite shades and you have the style sorted.
