It was great to attend the MCM flagship store opening in Zurich last night! Their products are cool and lots of fun: just like the party they were throwing… I had a really good time and bumped into many familiar faces. It was also a pleasure to meet top fashion bloggers Sandra Bauknecht (sandrascloset) and Kristina Bazan (kayture) for the first time. Thanks MCM for hosting a great night!

Well, hello there. Isn’t it about time to share some spring memories with you? My apologies for not having been able to update this blog as often as I had intended to. The truth is, this has probably been one of the busiest times of my life…

I moved countries, started a new full-time position in fashion (I promise: more info coming soon!), we sold our house in Canada, found a new place to rent near Zürich, Switzerland, and I yet have to organize our overseas moving container. The most difficult thing about the entire process, though, is to be separated from my kids. While I had to start my new job in February, they’re still in Canada with my husband finishing the school year. I won’t see them for another two months and then we’ll finally be reunited.

So that’s pretty much why my life has been a total chaos since plans started taking shape last October. Outfit posts haven’t been happening, as I don’t have a photographer and moving platforms like twitter and instagram was a challenge too, as I’m simply not very tech savvy.

Nevertheless, I do have some snapshots taken over the past couple months. Looking forward to having my blogging routine back soon!

If I had a neutral face shape like my model Rahel (pretty much anything looks good on her), I would definitely choose round sunglasses this spring. I love the Louis Vuitton’s on Hanneli, but for a more classic yet chic look, the ones by Celine are perfect!

Modern shift meets local practice

This weekend, I wore my first dress of the year! (Spring took forever to arrive!) It’s from a new brand that I just recently discovered: The Kooples. I just love their artful approach to cuts and the mix of French bohemia meets British rock – all on a very chic level, of course.

I wore the dress for a very special occasion this Sunday: my niece was getting her first communion, a Catholic custom that has been part of my own childhood!

Into my Nike’s

Well, hello there. I bought these Nike’s about three weeks ago but never had a chance to try them out until yesterday. My blogging break definitely lasted longer than intended: the flu I came down with paralyzed my forces for a good two weeks. Slowly getting my energy back, I ran amok in my apartment and took pictures of the Nike sneakers in as many ways as I could possibly imagine. The dangling ones looked kind of weird, though. That’s an idea for something else :)

I’m so upset and disappointed to be missing out on participating in the Fall ’13 campaign shoot of the company I’m working for. I’ve been in bed with the flu for the past 5 days! Showing up sick and coughing on the whole crew tomorrow is out of the question. I would have had the pleasure to see in person this gorgeous gal being styled and transformed into an even greater beauty than she already is!

I feel inspired when I see innovation in shape, lines and tailoring, making me see clothes in a fresh way. For example, the proportions of the dresses at Preen this season are very forward, while Proenza Schouler has a whole new take on the wrap dress, and Matthew Williamson brings new, bold and appealing printed fabrics.

This is how I currently like to wear my striped blouse: keeping the entire outfit in black and white. Of course a pair of jeans always work as well. But the cool factor is just bigger by going for monochromes.
