Iittala did it again!

This Christmas, Style:Nordic brought in this whole new design just for the customers in Singapore for the first time.

Pietari Posti´s Himmeli is a combination of traditional Finnish Christmas symbols and modern form languages. The himmeli, birds and Christmas ball ornaments are something all Finns know, but in Himmeli pattern they are presented in a new way that encapsulates the look of Christmas, no matter what your home country is. The traditional straw mobiles hung from ceilings - called himmelis - have decorated Finnish homes since times immemorial.

Iittala always believe in creating timeless pieces that you can use it for any occasion and match it with any other homewares from other range. However, they also believe in pieces that are limited and only available in certain period. Himmeli, along with Red Taika/Teema, they are only available during Christmas.

Now you know why people stock them up.. Well, in case they break them which can happen pretty easily.

Art has been a part of Agneta's life since childhood, always been drawing and painting.

Agneta Ekstrand is an artist born in Sweden but had been living half way across the globe in Singapore for two years now already. In her pictures, she found the main lead; the Orchid. In Singapore, Orchids are not just flowers but a national passion. The selection of a national flower was part of Singapore’s overall effort at fostering national pride and a sense of identity.

In particular, Vanda Miss Joaquim (Orchid in the first picture) most associated with hybrids, the orchid is also a symbol of our multi-cultural heritage. It is representative of the harmony among our ethnic communities, as well as with our many foreign visitors.

"I am fascinated about all the different characters hiding inside the Orchids in Singapore, I try to capture that, using my cameras shutter- speed and aperture with support of Singapore's daylight. It is important for me that I am not using Photoshop to create those pictures." Said Agneta about her work.

The canvas print is in a high quality print. Canvas in size 24 cm x 32 cm is chosen, for customers to be able to combine a group of canvas prints, perfect size for a gift, easy to pack in a suitcase and bring overseas, or to send by mail.
