I am popping along to a store today to pick up some of MIMCO’s wonderful new season Dreamweaver shoes, spending some hard-earned (or rather not so hard-at-all-earned) MIMCOLLECTIVE rewards, butI received the most wonderful parcel from MIMCO this week (you can view my experience below), in celebration of the launch of their new collection and Dreamwarp Society initiative.

A campaign that let’s the fans describe the meaning of the brand – the opportunity to put your love of style (and MIMCO) to work on a fashion shoot! During my time back in London over Christmas, one store I was keen to explore was the new Rugby store in Covent Garden. The first Rugby by Ralph Lauren store outside of the States, I was more than excited to check out the brand, and experience the splash they are making in London.

The best way I can explain the brand, is Ralph Lauren for college kids. It’s a lot more relaxed, a little more grunge, but still very preppy, with a lot of Polo staples like cable knits, and polo shirts in abundance. The Ralph Lauren quality is there, as are a collection of more classic pieces to weave into your wardrobe, such as slacks with suede patches, pea coats and oxford shirts, however there are a lot of fun pieces you wouldn’t see anywhere else in the Ralph Lauren empire.

A particularly inventive service they do offer, and I took advantage of, was their ‘make-your-own’ collection. A selection of rugby jerseys, polo shirts, cardigans and sweaters are available in a range of colours for you to customise with a series of varsity style patches, flags and emblems.

I had a bit of fun making a burgundy cardigan you’ll see below, with my initial on the chest, and an Australian flag on the arm. The store has seamstresses on staff to create your designs on the spot, and mine was made in a matter of hours (I popped out for a coffee at the new La Duree in the piazza while I waited). It’s a nice feeling to have something you know no one else will have a copy of.

I also picked up a butterfly bow tie, and a pair of riding pants in black which I love! If you’re in London or the States, I highly recommend popping in to take a look.

Coming back from London this year I’ve struggled to find a really great loafer or lace up for women, that I can wear as a solid everyday pair of shoes. Until now.

MIMCO’s new collection is out and comprises more than a couple of beautiful pairs of shoes that are the answer to my footwear dreams. The Dreamweaver Loafer and Dreamweaver Lace up are both beautifully crafted man-style leather shoes that will add a touch of classic British style to your wardrobe.

As most of you know, the scarf section at Liberty of London is simply one of my favourite places in the world. I’ve blogged about it several times, you may recall.

On a recent trip back to London over Christmas, I made a quick trip there to check out what’s new. And it seems the scarf department is growing. Not only in size, but more specifically, in Liberty’s own prints.

Below are two of the beautiful new heritage print collections made from Liberty house silks, and a quirky little portrait of rather dapper couple!

Decorating the new place last month was fun, but the tricky part, was staying under budget. And with a little help from our friends at http://www.sokol.com.au/ we did!

One day, I plan to have a home filled with items designed by Fethaerstone, Starke, and Eames, but for now, I’ll have to settle with replicas. Sokol offers an amazing range of replica pieces that you really couldn’t tell the difference from the originals.

It’s better priced than Matt Blatt, and has a slightly more quirky range. As they don’t yet have a retail store, you’re less likely to end up with the same furniture as your mates.

The Eiffel Eames replicas below are $60. We got one in every colour.
