How to reach your goals

We should not continue to deceive ourselves, we human beings are in continuous evolution, and we are always in the constant search for personal success, for everything that not only satisfies our needs but also makes us feel peace and tranquility. Depending on who you ask, success is a very subjective thing for each type of person, however, to obtain it, it is first necessary to fulfill or reach those objectives, which together and like pieces of a puzzle, make up the success we all seek in our lives.

It is no secret to anyone that sometimes we suffer inconveniences to reach or fulfill those objectives that we set and that is indispensable to become a new and better version of ourselves. According to a study published in Forbes, only 8% of the world’s population was able to achieve each of their goals and achieve personal success. Although this study was conducted based on several factors, it is striking and quite interesting how 92% of the world’s population has had serious difficulties in achieving their personal goals and somehow fulfilling their dreams.

There is an old saying that goes, “Human beings get very old very soon, and reach wisdom very late”. Without a doubt, this saying is a perfect reflection of why many times we do not reach the goals we set, and therefore, we do not achieve that success that brings us personal and professional peace of mind. Over the years, many people such as artists, celebrities, business people, or anyone who considers themselves successful, have shared their experiences and their appreciation of this subject through different means, and most have come to share the same conclusion.

To achieve whatever we set out to do in life, and then succeed, it is not necessary to be very intelligent, very popular, or to be the most daring. The only requirement, which is truly important, is to have the conviction and perseverance necessary to take one step at a time on our path to personal success, and never give up. It is also very important to be eager to continue learning and to improve daily, both personally and professionally.

Of course, we are aware that this is easier said than done, and that it cannot be achieved by magic, from one day to the next. For this reason, we provide you with some advice and guidelines that you can put into practice to meet all the objectives you set.

Start with small goals

There’s nothing wrong with dreaming of big plans or big goals. However, setting big goals is inadvisable, because many times when people set big goals for themselves, they get lost along the way, and lose focus. They end up going only a fraction of the way to success, lose motivation, and end up in the sad routine of failure.

For this reason, some experts in this field recommend that the first step is to establish small goals that together set a larger objective. The other option is to set a large goal, and then break it down into smaller goals, and then achieve the main goal more quickly and effectively.

Set realistic goals

As the second piece of advice, it is very important to set goals that are realistic, specific, achievable, and long-lasting. It is also very important that the objectives are strategic and determined by emotions. For many experts, setting goals that are motivated by emotions allow you to develop an emotional attachment to the goal, which is necessary to achieve any important goal in life.

Not only do you get a better focus, but you also get a greater motivation to achieve the goal. You get a better view of the right decisions to be made to meet the goal. With this way of looking at the road to success, people get to develop a sense of urgency and need, which is necessary to achieve any kind of goal. People who want to succeed must feel as if they have no other option but to get to work on their goals and then accomplish them.

Keep moving

For some experts, one of the biggest mistakes that people make is that they stop at some point in their lives and lose the rhythm they were carrying to achieve their dreams. No matter how much you learn, it’s very important not to fall into the trap of analytical paralysis. Every time you learn something new, put it into practice. The best way to learn anything, on any subject, is to practice it. Through these actions, you will not only learn to determine and know your limits, but you will also learn to cope with failure and learn to correct your mistakes.

Define your fears

One big mistake that people make is to focus so much on their goals and the means to achieve them that they forget to determine their fears. Forgetting our fears is a mistake, which without realizing it, can lead us to failure. During this stage, you must ask yourself this question, what are you afraid of? What stops you from achieving what you desire? By asking these kinds of questions, you will open a window of opportunity where you can find answers and solutions to those situations of failure.

Evaluate your progress

During this phase, it is very important to evaluate all those steps that bring us closer to our objectives. If you want to achieve any goal you set, you need to ask yourself questions like: What have I done today to get closer to my objectives? What did I do? Did it work? If it didn’t work, why didn’t it work?

With this kind of evaluation, you will be able to reflect on what you do and don’t do to reach your goals. Not only will you be able to determine what you need to do to achieve them, but you will also be able to determine what is preventing or delaying you from fulfilling your dreams.

Self-love: Investing In Yourself

Currently, we are living in constant change. Time seems to run faster than before, which makes people living almost unnoticed, unaware of the day to day. We are only worried about not arriving late to college or to our jobs, or we are just too busy trying to control our fate by strictly tracking and ruling our lives and schedules. Sadly, we finally forget the importance of our mental and emotional health, because we have our attention drawn to the almost mechanical processes we accomplish every single day, like robots.

Furthermore, the global pandemic thanks to the COVID-19 was a seriously shocking event for all of us. So suddenly everything has stopped, and from one day to another we aren’t able to go out or walking to our jobs and responsibilities anymore. Things like these are much unexpected events that are unlikely to happen, but when they occur, consequences are tough.

Handling with many different concerns and responsibilities is a delicate process, and that happens thanks to our condition of being emotionally sensitive about our environment, our responsibilities, and our interaction with other people. In nature, this sensitivity ends up affected after those daily tasks overwhelms our minds and blinds our eyes so we can’t feel or realize something is going completely wrong.

When we look for help, is probably too late

It is a sad true, but most of the people avoid talking about their problems and worries because of everything that others would think or say. Hence, we start to keep it all inside in the hope that we could go on our own and fix all the internal sadness or inner void.

We don’t notice it, but by the time we finally realize about the consequences, it’s been too long since we started to accumulate those bad feelings, which also means that there are many things inside. Of course we have already been feeling wrong, discouraged, and alone for a long time, but we didn’t understand that as an important concern that requires proper attention and “treatment”.

One of the most important facts about these moments is that help can come from anywhere. There is not a specific place for help or answers we are looking for. However, there must be a willingness coming from the inside in order to approach the problem, face it and be open to listening to other people that may be very helpful. Information is just a free tool, so we decide we are able to decide what to do with it. Consequences are the direct result of how we take that information, and of how much we apply it in our lives, in addition to the way we understand our situation and environment.

Knowing yourself

During the most of times, the idea of knowing ourselves may sound a little silly. It looks that we are compelled or expected to discover and know everything about us, and yes, we are supposed to. Yet, there is an important fact about this: knowing ourselves is a process that doesn’t come along so easy. This idea often comes to us by a traumatic situation that is very likely to hurt our peace, so we aren’t encouraged enough to search inside us to figure out if we have the will and/or the ability to get over that mishap on our own. Curiously, that’s one of the best methods to start knowing ourselves.

We all have goals and dreams, and being absolutely aware of that reality is also an excellent way to know more things about us. When we set a goal, we just want to do everything that is necessary to accomplish it, so we work hard on our skills. This shows us the things in which we are good at and those where we need to work on.

The answer lies within

In nature, all of the help we receive from the outside may result very useful for us when trying to recover the state of peace; of course it is. However, the outer help is always a temporary resource that at some point will be gone. So it is necessary to realize that the outer support is just a tool, but all of the work must be done by us. In essence, it’s well known that we must take advantage of advices that our closers give to us, but we just can´t expect that support in any time we get into a tough situation.

So it is time to invest some effort and dedication to build your own state of peace and happiness. It all depends on your perseverance and your will. Besides, it is not a hard thing. In the beginning you may look a little bit selfish, because one of the first steps is avoiding all the things that you don’t like to do or be close to. Of course, this is a part of the self-recognition process. Knowing the things you dislike is going to give you more control on your emotional status.

Don’t let it for tomorrow

The global pandemic has been that moment of pause that everyone need in their lives. Having this lockdown situation is the best method to spend time with yourself and all your inner senses. So it is time to take advantage of it. Currently, we have all the free time we would like to have back there when we all were overwhelmed by responsibilities.

Discover the things that you like to do, and separate them into goals or aspirations, and hobbies. Put your biggest and more significant skills inside the goals and aspirations, because those are the ones that will put yourself right in the place you’ve dreamed. Things you like to do for fun will be your hobbies, all those small and daily activities that provide you entertainment and satisfaction, like writing, jogging, playing videogames, singing, or whatever.

Consider this lockdown as the self-care period in your life. You got all the time you need to organize the course of your life. Work hard on improving your lifestyle, and, the most important, start loving and trusting yourself.

Truth be told being consistent is the hardest thing to do. Even now it’s crazy there are times where I  just want to give up because I  guess it’s just easier to give up than to keep going. How do you find the motivation to keep going and just not give up? How do you keep being consistent when you spend several hours a day working on content for people to not even acknowledge the content that you create.

I  don’t know about you but I  am just trying to keep going and content takes hours to make. However, I  am not going to lie it’s not easy. I  wish people would give me more credit and that people acknowledged me more often and gave me a little more credit than what they do. I  feel like even in being consistent that people sleep on me and that’s where I  struggle. I  struggle a lot from that and I  honestly have no words anymore.

Giving up though isn’t an option. So if you are like me and your struggling with consistency, just know that giving up isn’t an option. You have to keep going just like me. Thank you for reading this blog post, I just wanted to be honest with you guys.

Photoshop Portrait Tips

Whether you’re shooting portraits as fine art or stock photography, Photoshop can greatly improve the quality of the final version of your images. However, it should be noted that Photoshop is best used as a tool for post-production work and not as an aid to fix the photograph. The usual common-sense rules of portrait photography should apply when taking the image. Make sure the exposure is correct, the lighting is adequate, the eyes are in focus, the background is appropriate, and so on. Getting as many elements of the photograph done correctly before sending the picture through post-processing will aid greatly for delivering the final product.

You also should be aware that there are things Photoshop can’t fix, such as light reflections in glasses. If the subject is wearing glasses, the face and/or lights should be placed at an angle, so you don’t get glare or lights reflected off the lenses. Avoid glare on eyeglasses by setting lights at an angle. I recently partnered with FemmeLuxe Finery, And got some clothes. I received two dresses and a black swimsuit and a pink bikini top. I’m only going to be posting and black mini dress does not suit my body type.

Aside from the sizing issue, they are a wonderful clothing company and I received the clothes fairly quickly as well. I have been feeling these weird feelings around the topic of death. I guess because I am scared of it myself in some cases. I like to think that if we die; it will be like a video game and you respawn. I guess that’s what I tell myself to stay happy and be positive.

 This post may contain Affiliate links read my disclosure policy here  It’s a bubble that I created in my head to shelter me from it; because I don’t know how to deal with the topic mentally, or emotionally. I have so many friends that have lost someone they love and have experienced a death in the family. While I tell them I’m sorry for their loss, I just don’t know how it feels and what they are going through and how to help them. I told myself I don’t want to lose anyone in my life and I keep myself isolated from people because I am going through a lot myself so I keep to myself. Now I know I can’t do that anymore moving forward, I can’t shut myself off because that’s not fair to me and to the people that love me because one day I might not wake up. Today, I just found out that my grand father on my moms side just passed away in his sleep. To know that this happened and that I haven’t seen him or spoke to him since my freshman year of college or maybe even my senior in high school. This breaks my heart that even though I haven’t seen him or spoke to him, I have to live with the fact that I didn’t get to see or talk to him before he passed away. We weren’t close but it’s still that factor, he’s my grandpa. He gave me candy, and let me sit on his lap when I was kid, I don’t remember much because I block out memories but I know me and my mom lives with him and my grandma in a house in jersey. I just want him to respawn back to life so that we can make up for lost time and say goodbye. why is this bothering me so much the way that it is? The only pictures I have of me and him are is that baby picture that cut of my head. Why is it we live to only die? There’s only one way to come into this world, but yet so many ways to die. I just thought life was so supposed to be beautiful and happy. When I think of death it just makes me feel depressed and unsure, it makes me feel like I should probably live in a bubble.
