Some services will blanket create accounts for you, but take the time to build the ones that matter to you.</p>
<p>If you do not have a personal account with any of them, you should create one now. You can use this to manage your business. Buuuutt I have my long time personal Facebook account and I also have a Facebook ads dedicated business manager account to wrangle the 50+ ad accounts I touch each month. Feels better that way, but convenience is a big factor in doing this right.</p>
<p>When applicable create a Business manager Account, like with Facebook, or convert your account to a Business Profile, as is the case with Instagram. These options will give you access to advanced analytics, customer engagement, more post types, and ad perks like optimized and targeted campaigns.</p>
<h2>Set up your Profile and Page.</h2>

<p>Once you have signed up for each platform, you will need to set up a profile. For the personal profile that manages your business, I&#8217;d recommend adding a professional profile pciture and cover photo, completing your bio, and choosing a username or short url if available. Remember to consider who will see this, who you intend on communicating with, and how you want to represent yourself and your business.</p>
<p>For your pages, make sure you complete all of the details including your NAP (name, addresses, phone numbers), about statement, business website urls, and selecting the right categories for your business. Consistency is key here so make a document that has the details you can copy and paste easily.</p>
<h2>Build Relationships.</h2>
<p>You should also make sure to engage with customers as often as possible. You can do this by responding to comments, liking posts, sharing content, and commenting on other people’s posts. Joining other groups as your business or creating a group for your business is a great way to engage with or build new communities.</p>

Or, in the automotive business we post the manufacturer special offers a few times throughout the month for each model that is included.</p>
<p>The best thing about social media marketing is that it allows you to target specific groups of people who share similar interests and demographics. For example, if you sell women&#8217;s boutique clothing, you can target women, over 35, with an income level, shopping interest, and in-market shopping behavior that allows my clients to attain a click through rate on Facebook and Instagram 4-5x the industry benchmark. At the same time, they attract real paying customers who want and appreciate their products.</p>
<p>Additionally, most social media channels allow you to sync your product data with live updates and listings like Facebook Marketplace. This allows you to sell directly from the social media channel your customers engage with you on, if you wish.</p>

<p>Email marketing is somewhat controversial in its methods and returns on investment. Some top tier marketing companies charge quite a bit for consistent email marketing services, but when planned and executed properly this avenue of contact can be your most effective and efficient method of digital marketing available.</p>
<p>Regularly scheduled touches to your customer base are invaluable. Saying &#8220;thank you&#8221; or &#8220;happy holidays&#8221; may be the difference in a sold referral or repeat customer. If your group or dealership uses any of the latest CRM, you already have this power at your fingertips.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Speaking of tips</span>: filter your customers down to specific sets like sold or unsold, car or SUV, work truck or weekend truck. Your messages will be more specific and ultimately more effective.</strong></p>
<p>Check out <a href="https://mailchimp.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MailChimp</a> or <a href="https://www.constantcontact.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Constant Contact</a> for email marketing automation if your CRM doesn&#8217;t provide email campaign services as part of their services package.</p>
<h3>Social Media</h3>
<p>If you aren&#8217;t already on social media, at least in an organic sense, you&#8217;re missing quite possibly the biggest boat of digital marketing opportunities. The audience size alone should&#8217;ve gained your attention, but knowing the wealth of data available to digital marketers should have your motors red lining! Did you know you can market to people who have shown very real interest in purchasing a new vehicle in the near future? Did you know that you can find out what they drive and what they want to drive?</p>
<p>Social media marketing can be relatively inexpensive and very effective if used properly. There are a number of ways you can take advantage of this data, but there are also a few folks who can do it better for you. Check your options for local social media service providers. <h3>Reputation Management</h3>
<p>Reviews, reviews, reviews. There&#8217;s no way around this most awesome and most painful source of information. And in some cases, the reputation management site service providers hold it down like the mafia. I&#8217;ll follow this post up later with some ways to stay out of their pockets and avoid the headache of a disgruntled customer lambasting you all over the Internet. Aside from avoiding the negative reviews, positive or specific and lengthy reviews will build trust in your current and future customers alike. These trust signals are invaluable points of digital marketing that cost pennies to manage or collect.</p>
<p>There are quite a few companies that provide these services, be sure to look for automation and flexibility. Some people hate Yelp but have hundreds of reviews on Google so don&#8217;t box your customers in. The landscape of service providers specific to reputation management is ever changing. Some CRMs and lead providers also give some sort of reputation management support as well.</p>
<h3>Equity Mining</h3>
<p>Unless your dealership was built yesterday, and even then they are most likely part of a group of dealerships, you are going to have a wealth of customer data to act on. This was my most lucrative focus as Director of Business Development for the groups I supported. This information often includes what our customers drive, what they used to drive, and what they want to drive. As well as current and past financial data.</p>
<p>Combining your customer data with your lender data and your inventory gives you a magic formula that is often a newer vehicle with a lower APR and lower payment. Few of us say no to that. In order to get your pocket full of equity fairy dust, you need a great CRM. I&#8217;ll cover those briefly next, but watch out for my deep dive on what makes a good CRM.</p>
<h3>CRM</h3>
<p>As with any business, a CRM is necessary for proper customer care, data management, accounting, and follow up. The automotive industry was a bit slow to the game, but today&#8217;s automotive CRM solutions offer a host of services and data management that will make any competent sales person better and more profitable.</p>
<p>Both through the management of customer, vehicle, and financial data and the marketing avenues offered in pair, a great CRM is the only way to true growth and the improvement of a dealership&#8217;s sales team. No matter how great your digital marketing game is if you cannot manage the customer&#8217;s requests or your inventory, you&#8217;ll never realize or understand your true ROI potential. </p>
<p>I had the opportunity to use several of the best CRMs available in the automotive industry. DealerSocket and VinSolutions are current industry front runners, and I&#8217;ve had the &#8220;pleasure&#8221; of working with Promax for the last couple of years. Sometimes change is a very, very good thing.</p></div>

Here are a few ways you can solve the menu problem. First, you can simply type it out in a table or line by line. Not fun, not very quick, and it&#8217;s next to impossible to format; especially for mobile devices. Your second option is to find a theme like <a href="https://themeforest.net/item/eatery-responsive-restaurant-wordpress-theme/3469316" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Eatery</a> by <a href="https://themeforest.net/user/themovation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Themovation</a> that I&#8217;m using at <a href="http://JittersLunchbox.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">JittersLunchbox.com</a>. This theme is restaurant specific and has the menu feature baked right into the theme. An easy solution to styling your website and adding the functionality you need. Lastly, you can add a menu plugin like <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/wppizza/">WPPizza</a> by <a href="https://www.wp-pizza.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ollybach</a>. This plugin allows you to add a menu, with some advanced functionality, to just about any website you install it on.</p>

Make sure your NAP (<strong>N</strong>ame, <strong>A</strong>ddress, and <strong>P</strong>hone number) is all over your website, but include a map in your pages, posts and sidebar widgets with a plugin like <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-maps-widget/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Google Maps Widget</a> by <a href="https://www.webfactoryltd.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Web Factory LTD</a>. It&#8217;s easy to use, gives you all kinds of customization options, and it&#8217;s free. The paid version steps it up a bit with the customizations, but most restaurant owners can get by with the free version.</p>

You can create every type of form from the generic contact form to the logic driven, schedule connected reservation form. It also offers some pretty great e-commerce solutions. Gravity Forms doesn&#8217;t offer pop-up solutions, but it does work with the most popular WordPress pop-up plugins I&#8217;ll mention next. There are also <a href="https://mailchimp.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MailChimp</a> and <a href="https://www.constantcontact.com/index.jsp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Constant Contact</a> integrations for email marketing compliance and management.</p>
