Seth Godin has a great post today about being perfect. He tells the story of Fedex… a company that does everything right. He states…

They’re perfect. The only time we notice them is when they screw up.

This brings up a good point. Shouldn’t we take a step back and give credit where credit is due. Shouldn’t we give praise when a company does something right? Unfortunately whether it is a business, TV show, or even our kids, human nature seems to want to complain a lot more than praise.

Hopefully each one of us can do something about it. Read Seth’s insightful post and see if you agree

Dwayne Melancon has an interesting post about Michael Stallard’s new book, Fired Up or Burned Out: How to Reignite Your Teams Passion, Creativity, and Productivity. Dwayne was inspired by the subject of coaching. In the book, the author gives examples of good coaching (John Wooden) and poor coaching (Howell Raines). He shares a quotation from Kareem Abdul-Jabar…

“[He] had a profound influence on me as an athlete, but even greater influence on me as a human being. He is responsible, in part, for the person I am today.”

–Kareem Abdul-Jabar

It’s a great article about a book that should be in every leaders book collection

Zig has created a new audio book that will be published in written format later this year. Written in Zig Ziglar’s trademark style, Better Than Good isn’t just about success now, excellence tomorrow, or even motivation for next month, but about making a lasting impact-an impact that goes beyond financial gains and creative partnerships. This book offers practical and spiritual vision for what life can be when we allow the power of purpose and passion to permeate our souls.
