Greetings, to any readers who may still take an interest in this blog.

This blog has been neglected for some time, yet I don't wish to simply delete it as it holds pleasant memories for me.

While a few of my core interests have remained the same, general interests evolved over the years and that is partially the reason for my lack of posting.

It is hard to explain what type of blog this will become shortly, but readership (if any) will always be something I am thankful for.

College | PC Mac battle! XD

Since College is now a big part of my life, I thought I'd share some bits on it every now and then. A few RL friends know well that I am not a Mac fan ^-^; As someone studying Graphic Design, it may seem blasphemous, lolols.

Honestly, I've had bad experiences with *real* Mad fanboys and fangirls so I've learned to slowly appreciate the Mac through my own opinion and not that of the general fan world.

Mac is pretty fun and simple though, I must admit that I'm pretty comfortable with my own personal customizations I've made in Windows. I guess I'm finicky about any OS really XD

Do you customize your pc settings to suit your preferences?

What are your thoughts on the Mac?

Mistakes in anime or Not part.3

Though on holiday, been sneaking between work and college ^^; So, as a treat, I've watched a bit of anime now and then [lies, it was withdrawal XD XD]

While watching K-On! episode 10, I noticed an animation error! **gasp gasp**
In the first picture, you'll see Ritsu wearing a yellow headband, which we see in most of the series.

In the second pic, however, she is wearing a white headband. The white headband is work the entire duration of episode 10. So the "phantom yellow headband" was a mistake, it seems.
Tsk tsk, what were the quality checkers doing ^_~

It certainly was a cute episode so, we won't hold the little error against the animators ^_^

RL and the Otaku | Wanted figures now Unwanted | Oh noes! Full HDD

Eh he ^^; Trying to keep a 'regular' flow of updates now~ It's good to be back :3

Having recently gotten back in touch with an overseas net friend, we had an interesting topic in one email which I'd like to share here.
The question was, "Are you open with your hobbies or do you slowly warm up to people and then inform them?"

Personally, I tend to be the latter. Thankfully, people that I've come across have fairly understood and so that makes it much easier. Though, you do get people who immediately associate Ero stuffs with anime in general XD Even if you try to explain the difference... they just don't get it, lolols. Wonder what they think if they heard of eroge D:
What kind of experience do you have with your hobbies and the people around you in RL?

There's been a great amount of figures this year with a generally strong quality. Perhaps too much figures released this year? It's either that or the recession is eating at our hobbies XD; From the 50 or so figures that I've been drooling over, it has been cut to about halve that now >_>;;; The reason lay somewhere between availability issues, funds and eventual disinterest due to the former TwT
Do you find yourself in a similar situation?

Ending off with a rather amusing yet, sad event that I imagine all of us to have come across at some point XD Lots of stuff + HDD = Full HDD
Not good >_>;;
How do you counter the full HDD problem? Also, which type of backup do you prefer? (dvd,HDD, or...)

It has been a long time, my dear friends~ (^-^);;;
In the time of our lack of communication, what have you all been up to?
I do hope to catch up with all the blog entries I've missed, truly m(_ _)m

With a little more than a month left of the first year of my Graphic Design course it's hard to believe that so much time has gone by. Just two more years and then I'll have my Diploma and if all goes well, I hope to get my Bachelor of Arts degree overseas... perhaps too hopeful >.<;; For my readers, do you plan to study abroad? If you're already doing so, how do you find the experience? If there's one thing that college students' love, it has to be free items wwwww Having put a little money aside for an LCD monitor, I never expected for one to march my way, at no cost at all D: Yes, this had to be one of my greater material surprises since my Katana set XD Have you had any surprise gifts this year?

As mentioned above, the end of my college year is approaching. Not only is this time for reflecting it's also a time to devote to my hobbies and other responsibilities. Will be relearning all the code I've managed to forget since I started college, attend a few LANs, grab that cup of Italian hot chocolate I've been craving, go on a date XD;;; wwwww only in VN games, Join the Kenjutsu/Kyudo dojo, NEET mode, catch up on anime and manga, tie up personal art projects and finally, try to get my driver's license. Maybe I'll get a holiday job too, who knows... >_>;;;

With many big plans ahead and at least 3 months holiday ahead of me, I hope to spend it wisely with everyone *___*

Holidays | Toradora Complete | Time for personal works!

It's been a little while since the last entry, I have missed you all m(_ _)m

If you are celebrating your holiday right now, how are you enjoying it?

This holiday has been a hasty though not stressful race of catch-up. Catch-up as in personal projects that can't be done while at college.

Not that college is a bad thing but, it certainly cuts the time down or is that just bad time management? (^_^);;;

Some shows that I've finally caught up on over the course of this new year:

- Air

- Angelic Layer

- Doujin Work

- K-On!

- Kannagi

- Kasimasi ~ Girl meets Girl ~

- Minami Ke

- Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu

- Toradora

Some of these are pretty old but, as they're downloaded over time it is not the quickest way of watching them. Having just completed Toradora last night it is still fresh in my mind. It's also a show that holds personal relevance to me so... that may have helped me to enjoy it even more (*>.<*)

Apart from anime, there are a few doujinshi titles but, sadly no manga at the moment. Manga happens to be one of my favourite Otaku indulgences. No Visual novels either but, there's a few games I'm playing now too.

Part of the personal projects is the site update, of course. It has been a long wait and hopefully things will go better this time round.

I've found that having a blog can be a good motivator; do you feel that way too?

Finding old merch | Spending money | VN, Eroge, Real Life | Holidays

So, this entry is being posted a bit before my mid-year moderation and about 9 hours away from the 3 day LAN. You can almost smell the air of the holiday approaching!

Starting with the rather good news! This may not have been mentioned on the blog before but, I'm pretty certain to have said it on Danny Choo's site somewhere. Almost two years ago, I lost a brand new copy of Robot volume 3. It was still sealed and bought just after leaving high school, a treat to myself... in a way ^^; Strangely, I had searched in a part of the cupboard which was unnoticed before.. and there it was.
After all the trouble, it is pleasing to have it sitting comfortably next to its fellow volumes ^-^~

Have you ever found old/lost merch and how did you find your experience?

With the Ritsu-mode cancelled and the sale of the Roland keyboard over. My wallet has gained a lovely R1000 (about $100, more ike $120) of *pure* money.
Pure as in money that is suitable for spending on non-college related stuffs. There is still much thought on what to buy... =__=;;;

Have you ever been in a situation where you simply could not decide what to buy?

How did you overcome it?

Real life is so different to VN's and eroge. We know this already, just found it interesting that the latter is much easier *>.>* :cough:

Aaand holidays are finally here! It has been a whirlwind of a year, filled with many acquaintances, memories, lessons, nuances, fan-girling and much more. I look forward to a lovely second half of the year with you. Keep your eyes open for posts on suki desho as it'll be active again~

Art Exhibition | LAN approaching | Merchandise WANT Galore

With exams over, we are now preparing for the mid-year art exhibition at college. Since the theory part of the exam is over, part of the exhibition is the display of our practical works that we've created over the last few months, which will be marked or remarked... depending on which you prefer.
Since I've chosen to redo certain works, your mark will be set to a new average, I'm currently completing old and new works.
There is also the opportunity to create an artwork on a wooden block (mini canvas of sorts) and sell it! Well... the money goes towards the college but, it's good publicity.. which every starting artist values greatly!
Not a bad compensation before a long, 3 week-or-so break, isn't it?
As said on twitter... NEET mode on!

Anyone else planning on going into NEET mode this holiday, at least partially....?

The LAN is near...

It has been an extremely long time since my previous post and generally a long time since being online in a 'regular' fashion. That said, I have missed you all terribly TwT Whether I read your blog or you mine, whether we communicate on Dannychoo or not, whether we chat via msn or not... I miss it all! TT____TT A solution approaches and that is holiday!

When are you celebrating your holiday and what are your plans, if any?

Next weekend, the 19th to 21 June, I hope to attend a LAN. If you've been following my blog since last year... this is the 3 day LAN that happens monthly in my country. This year onii-chan and I are attending together, of course many of our friends will be there too. After the long months of college, intense gaming is in order! (b^o^)7

For my readers, do you attend any LANs? If so, what type of games or games do you enjoy most?
Personally, I'm into my strategy/FPS>RTS stuff mainly though I play anything that appeals to me.

Not really a rant but, something that I'd like to share with you. Entering college can be good and bad, especially if you're stuck buying art supplies every day, week or month... and still have college fees to attend to as well. Sadly, Suki has not bought any figurines, manga or anything of the sort due to this. I imagine that I'm not the only one going through this so...

How do you cope with this situation or do you rebel? [rebel rebel (b^_~)]

For those of you who may be wondering, college life is really exciting. Although my course is Graphic Design, the college is Fine Arts based and as a result our course gives us firm foundations in both computer and fine arts. An idea of the subjects we take: Photography, Illustration, Figure Drawing, History of Art (Theory),Research (AKA Free period), Printmaking, Communication, Design, DTP, Object Drawing, Alternative Media and Jewellery Design (also 3D-based design).

It's a full schedule and certain classes would appear more frequently than others but, that's okay.
The exam is an essay, which has to be written in 5 days.... That's better than regular testing, I suppose. The exam will be given to us on Monday... gambarimasu! >___<

Finally, if I haven't missed anything, there's good news on the other spectrum of my hobbies! suki has always wanted to play drums and so, after confirming with the parents... it wouldn't work TwT [That was back then when] [Present] suki now has both the opportunity to get her DRUMS!!!! I'll still be writing music and possibly playing other instruments as well but now is the time for DRUMS~ (>/^o^)>/ [It's supposed to be playing drums...lolols, just made that smiley now ^^;]

Do you play any instruments or would like to, if so, which one(s)?

Holidays will start after the theory and practical exams.. so lets hope we can all meet (properly) once its all over >__<

It has been a very long time since my last blog post, for those who follow my blog, I do apologise for not being able to bring you any posts during this time m(_ _)m

Mostly due to College and Work, I have made a time for all things 'work' since entering College... so no real 'free' time for other things T_T
That is not to say, however, that I am not enjoying college.. because I am! ^-^ It's a fun course~
Today, we're making figurines of ourselves! It's so exciting! *waku waku*

Though I miss being my 'old' self ._.
And I miss having money for games, figures and manga TwT

Over the festive season, I placed an order for two figurines through an international supplier.
This was my first international order for figurines, so I was rather excited for this ^^;
Rushing to get my camera once the box arrived... I finally realised that my camera had a problem T_T

Fate/Stay Night Cleared! | Blog updates progressing

It has been a while since my last post but, to make up for that... I bring you a little run down of my Fate/Stay Night progress! Spoilers will be avoided as much as possible, so no need to be concerned about that ^__^

Last post, we ended off with at the start of the final path, Heaven's Feel (Sakura's path). As some of you may know already, the anime did not feature a great amount of the Unlimited Blade Work's and Heaven's Feel paths... in fact, slight segments were added but, not enough to consider the actual storyline of those paths.

Heaven's Feel is a long path, fillled with decisions and many twists that unravel. In a sense, it can be related to the unsaid events of UBW and Fate... Similar to UBW, Heaven's Feel contains both a True and Good ending.

[this pic actually appears in UBW... but, its Sakura in Kyudo uniform so yeah.. ^_^]

The sequel to Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia follows a cycle of one and a half years after the Fate/Stay Night timeline. If possible, I'd love to get my hands on this one next.... it would be a good way to practice my Japanese!

Purchase cut down! | Older and Wiser..?

After checking through the (rather long) list of figurines and other merchandise that I compiled, I realised that there were some things I didn't *really* want.
Considering the current economical situation and other life expenditure... it'd be best to change the manner of spending or not spend at all ^^;

Have you come across situations like that? Having to cut down or make compromise?

Aaaand, on a more random life-related note, I celebrated my birthday on Friday and spent it with my Nii-san, um brother, cousins and friends.
It's pretty amazing how you don't really 'feel'older even though you are XD
Well, it was fun so, I thought of sharing that with you ^___^

Fate/Stay Night progress, report #2 | Figurine still late T_T

It's about time for a progress report on Fate/Stay Night! In future, I'd like to do this for all visual novels that I play, perhaps including a Q&A of sorts as well, what do you think, dear readers?

Moving on...
Since the last post, I have cleared the Fate scenario (Saber path).
It was a very interesting scenario which left me pretty emotional ;_;
A must if you're a Saber fan!

After resting and occupying my time with some Unreal 3.. I moved on to the next available path, Unlimited Blade Works scenario (Rin path).
For the most part, this did not include scenes from the anime and if you're very taken by both Archer and Rin, I totally recommend this path!
In fact, I've come to love the main cast (aka, Shirou, Saber, Rin and Archer) even more.

Finally, I have started the final scenario Heaven's Feel (Sakura path).
I've heard many things about this path.. I do hope that it'll present an interesting story and pretty art ^__^
Though, I’ve also heard that this scenario contains the most eroscenes.. a whopping total of 3!
Compared to Fate's 2 and Unlimited Blade Work's 1... that is quite an amount XD

The story for Fate/Stay Night uses existing elements and enhances it to create a very different story.
Type Moon has been in the doujin industry for a while and with Fate/Stay Night has brought a few mature changes that assist their image for the good.
There is still much debate over the eroscenes feeling misplaced but, I guess that may be the case for most eroge.

As for my figurine I ordered some time back, it seem sthat the supplier has not shipped the item as of yet :(
It's vexing but, I guess there's no problem in waiting more after waiting so long already XD

Japanese Magazines | Site update coming along...

It's been a little while since my previous post... blame that on life and games ^^;
Seems like Unreal 3 and Fate/Stay Night have done a good job to keep me busy, well that's okay XD

There are many Japanese magazine available to cater for all tastes.
Whether you like fashion or plamo, there'll be something available for you.
While they may be hard to get hold of and due to exchange rates, may be pretty expensive... we'd still like to purchase them.

So, which Japanese maazines do you enjoy reading? What makes it worth reading?

The site poll will end today, I am currently working on a theme of sorts. Coding is something that is totally self-taught so.. it may take a little while to work out the finer bits...
Either way, I thank you, my dear readers, for helping me to come to a decision

Sold out | Late fandom is bad | Yuki is on her way!

The time it takes to become part of a certain fandom may be one of the ideas that can kill a fandom.
If this does not make sense to you, I shall elaborate.

Being able to enjoy a series (whether its manga, anime, novel, game or visual novel), from the starting point is a valuable experience.
You are able to gain interest at an early stage and this helps you do purchase the merchandise for the show at an early stage.
Not having the opportunity to 'catch-on' to the in jokes, merchandise and product may be a chance for you to not support the idea at all, you've arrived too late, after all.

It is not something people choose to experience and so, we need to ensure that we stop this!
Perhaps not in an extreme manner but, take a look below at the repercussions:

As you can see ^^; It's almost as if 'long sold out' is poking fun at you... yes, it is ^^;
The image above is a little taste of what I wanted to order but, the items are now... almost impossible to get.
To avoid this happening to my dear readers, I am sharing a slice of wisdom.. even if you knew it already ^___^

On a happier note, my Nagato Yuki Guitar Wizard is on her way! She'll be arriving sometime this month, let's hope that changes to *week* XD
I'm not too sure what to order after this, however, Nendoroid, manga, Gundam model kit and something different wouldn't be a bad idea.

Fate/Stay Night Progress

As I've been playing the Fate/Stay Night visual novel, my progress has brought me some sporadic bits of fan-girlism.
Some of you may know this already but, I consider myself to be a great fan of Tohsaka Rin ^-^
Whether it's her personality, character design or simply the fact that she was my first figurine...
I do my best to support her!
This, however, seems to be drowned out by the many Saber fans that I do know ^^;
I have to like all characters, rather its in my personality to do so...
So, I don't hate Saber, you can be at ease XD

Aria brings happy tears TTvTT [possible Aria the Origination Spoilers]

Having just completed Aria the Origination, episode 9.. I am both shocked and joyful! (Still have a few more eps and then the next series >.<) I've always had Aria in mind as one of my top anime and manga. The uniqueness of a slice-of-life show with a very different side of storytelling, beautiful music and lovable characters. [After getting the Aria episodes at the LAN, I can finally watch Aria completely ;_;]

The Aria series started as a manga in 2001 by Kozue Amano. Kozue-sensei has always possessed the great ability to communicate directly to the reader, using both pictures and words to open the door to a new world. This level of creativity, detail and sincerity has earned sensei a great name in the anime and manga world.

The manga has been published in two sections:
ARIA
AQUA

There are three anime series at current:
Aria the Animation
Aria the Origination
Aria the Natural

Other forms of media have been produced:
Aria drama cd collection

Another part of Aria's popularity is the music used within. The soundtrack is composed by Senoo Takeshi, who is also known for the music in Himawari! and it's second season Himawari!!

Artbooks, figurines, plushies, wristbands and other merchandise has also been made, although some would be hard to locate due to its high demand. It must be noted that due to it's storytelling technique and pace, Aria may stir very different feelings in its viewers.

LAN | Fate/Stay Night | Late Nights are Back!

This is a little post revolving around the LAN I had attended over Friday and Saturday. It was a three day event but, due to certain family matters I could only stay for two days.

The LAN, known by the name 'Organised Chaos' spans three days, is currently hosted in an indoor stadium and the capacity is around 600 people.
As mentioned, this is a three day LAN; Most people end up staying the full three days loaded with pc and sleeping resources.
This being my first LAN of this level, I decided it would be best to stay.

My computer being upgraded earlier in the week, I was ready to take on some quality games!
The first few hours of Friday were mostly taken as time to set up (dc++, anti-virus, game setup etc) and once we covered that, it was merely a matter of hosting or joining a game.
As the programme dc++ was available to us, we also shared/leeched while playing... or some just leeched ^^;
The event took shape early on and the gaming was getting good.

At this I decided to play some Unreal Tournament 3. Thankfully, I am familiar with the interface of this game, so it was kind to me in that respect.
The opponents were unforgiving and neither was I, Unreal was a good place marker and proved that even being rusty you can still own some XD

With Saturday closing in, other games were added to the plate.
COD4, Soulstorm, Half Life... between these there, I learned to play games I've never had the opportunity to become familar with.
It's certainly harder when you barely know of the controls but, gaming is kind in that respect.
Soon, I managed to own some so that was joyful feeling ^-^

My time ended by bidding farewell to my friends, promising to return at the next LAN and hopefully proving to be an even better challenge next time.

One of the 'great get' from the LAN was the Fate/Stay Night game!
It certainly saved me the long, hard process of getting it myself ^^;
After managing to play through the prologue (which was rather long, mind you), I came to the conclusion that this game has been improved from the presentation of Tsukihime.
Animated scenes, music room, more save slots, better interface, different perspectives, added comment box for saves ...
Fate/Stay Night is by far the better quality doujin game that I have played. It really delivers on a professional level, in my belief.
Though I've just played the prologue I'm certainly enjoying this game so far, among my other batch of games XD

Finally, as a result of all this excitement... my late nights are back.

As much love as there is for the Nendoroid series, the Figma range may be on close par.
If we look at this in more depth, we can say that there is a certin group of people who tend to prefer articulated figurines.
There are some who can still enjoy the static figurines but, the question is:

How creative are you when it comes to your jointed figurines?

El Figure | LAN | College

Oha

I few events have occurred and approach me during this time.
Firstly, I have pictures of my newest figurine to share. She is more of a sculptor's figurine and not particularly related to any franchise.

The following pics may appear to have better lighting; I (with the help of my dad) made a photography box.
Sadly, I am not yet accustomed to my camera and somehow managed to either blur of capture part of the box in ^^;

As some of my fellow DC readers may know, I have been accepted into College!
My dream of pursuing a career in Graphic Design is within my reach and now I'll be doing my best to prove myself.

How did you first react when you got into College/managed to get a job?

Finally, I am attending a LAN after many years. The LAN in itself is quite a big one, hosting 200+ people and lasting 3 days long.
As I am buying pc upgrades to day, I should be able to play with more ease , however, it's been a while since I've gamed competitively so, I'm sure I'll be rusty ;_;

Do you enjoy LANs or online gaming?

This is more of an in between post while I wait for a few figurines to arrive.
It has been quite some time that I have done a 'Life' Post, they won't be too often though.

I've ordered a figurine that I had my eyes on but, as it was not a character/series related item, I avoided it.

Do you have certain figurines/items that you avoid due to company or sculptor?

How do you feel after reciving a series that you've waited for so long?

This question stems from the fact I hva erecently gotten 'Serial Experiments Lain' which was one of the first anime I had wanted after I started to involve myself deeper into anime, manga and everything alike.
