The 3rd Annual Denver Day of Rock is set to feature 20 incredible bands on 5 stages all around Downtown Denver.

The Annual Denver Day of Rock is once again upon us!

Now in it’s 3rd consecutive year, the 2012 Denver Day of Rock (DDR) is set to transform Downtown Denver on Saturday, May 26th, from a sprawling urban area brimming with life, to the very same, but with five stages of thunderous live concerts going onstage at the heart of it.

A Concert For Kids, ummmm, concert, DDR helps to promote the awareness of children throughout the Denver community. Further, DDR also supports the Food Bank of the Rockies, a non-profit that fights against hunger throughout Colorado.

The line-up for this year’s DDR boasts 20 bands, including out-of-this-world groups like the prophetic and renowned TOTO, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and Fishbone, to name a few.

What’s more, this is a FREE concert series, so “get thee to a nunn….” You should just go.

Discover Something Compelling at the Annual Indian Market & Powwow

The 12th Annual Indian Market will feature a variety of incredible Native American arts and crafts.

The Annual Indian Market & Powwow is once again returning to The Fort for another fantastic weekend full of arts and crafts, culture, and camaraderie.

Now in it’s 12th consecutive year, the Indian Market & Powwow continues to showcase the work of more than 50 of the nation’s best Native American artists, musicians, dancers, and more. Running from Saturday, May 19th through Sunday, May 20th, you can expect to experience consummate and masterfully composed works of art, including plenty of paintings and sculptures, pottery, jewelry, and much more.

During the Powwow, there is also an inter-tribal contest, wherein dancers and drummers will compete against one another over the course of Saturday and Sunday.

What’s more, this year’s Indian Market & Powwow also serves to honor the memories and deeds of the Native Americans, past and present, in our Armed Services.

The Producers Brings Hillarity to the Littleton Arts Center

The Producers follows the comedic misadventures of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they try to make the worst musical in the world.

Mel Brooks endearing silver-screen films (the original and the remake), The Producers, has spawned an immensely successful Broadway and 12 Tony Award winning musical.

The latest production of The Producers is coming to the Littleton Town Hall Arts Center from Fri., May 18th through Sun., June 17th, and they’re bringing hilarity with them.

Following the misadventures of prospective con-men Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they attempt to create the biggest Broadway flop in history, thereby making themselves a healthy profit from the subsequent insurance collections. Therein, the duo attempt to produce Springtime for Hitler, a show who’s own inevitably immense inverse grandeur causes difficulties in their doing so.

The Producer’s is a fantastic show for people of all ages, making it a great family night event, a superb get-together with friends event, and a wonderful date night event.

Ticket prices for The Producers vary depending on seating.

The Colorado Chocolate Festival Returns to Denver

Some of the featured events at the 5th Annual Colorado Chocolate Festival include Beer and Chocolate Pairings, and How to Make... demonstrations.

By now it should be an undisputed fact that chocolate possesses some nutritional and otherwise health benefits, such as boasting a high amount of antioxidants, as well as the capacity to reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke.

We mention this because the Annual Colorado Chocolate Festival is returning to Denver for another great festival filled with fun, fraternity, and fudge (among other things!).

Now in it’s 5th consecutive year, and taking place at the Denver Merchandise Mart from Friday May 11th through Saturday, May 12th, the Colorado Chocolate Festival draws together the best chocolatiers, confectioners, and like culinary artists from all around Denver, Colorado, and the nation.

Grateful Bread Co. Opens New Bakery in Golden

Usually a wholesale bakery for Denver's top restaurants and hotels, the Grateful Bread Company is opening it's doors to the public for the first Saturday of every month.

The Grateful Bread Company is setting up to offer their great, golden bread to Golden.

That’s not just us having fun with words. That’s actually the case.

This is a Denver local bakery and longtime curator of incredible tasting artisan-baked buns, loafs, croissants, and otherwise great baked bread, pastries, and other confections.

And they’re opening their doors to the greater Denver and Golden public [or anyone else that shows up] between 10am-2pm on Saturday, May 5th (Cinco de Mayo), and every consecutive 1st Saturday of the month.

In celebration of this Saturday’s event, Grateful Bread is cooking up a special batch of Jalapeno Tillamook cheddar batards (it’s spicy, awesome cheddar bread). People can further expect everything from French baguettes and wheat bread to chocolate and almond croissants and cinnamon rolls to be on sale this Saturday.

Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night Comes to the Arvada Center

Twelfth Night is a comedy about love, mistaken identity, and drunken revelry. It's also very funny.

Hot off the heels of Talk Like Shakespeare Day, a production of William Shakespeare’s comedy Twelfth Night or What You Will is running at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities from April 27th through May 27th.

A play that isn’t quite as well known as other Shakespearean works, like Romeo & Juliet or The Taming of the Shrew, chances are you’ve still heard of Twelfth Night, even if you don’t think you have. Like R & J, Twelfth Night was featured [or at least directly alluded to] in the Academy Award winning film Shakespeare In Love, and like …Shrew, which was adapted and modernized in the film 10 Things I Hate About You, Twelfth Night received the same treatment with the flick She’s the Man.

Concisely, Twelfth Night tells the story of two shipwrecked and separated twins, Viola and Sebastian. In order to best survive, Viola cuts her hair and takes on the guise of a male servant for the grieving Lady Ophelia, who quickly falls in love with her. Much hilarity ensues.

Whether you’re looking for a comedy that everyone can enjoy, an event for your next date night, or simply something to get you out of your apartment, you’re sure to find it at the Arvada Center’s production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

Celebrate Earth Day By Living A Little Greener

Earth Day was yesterday (Sunday, April 22nd). It doesn’t get the same type of revelry that holiday’s like Independence Day or Chris/Hanu/Kwanza get. Rather, it’s entirely possible to celebrate Earth Day, belated or otherwise, by simply becoming a little more environmentally conscious and taking pains to live a little greener from this point on.

Here are some tips to help you get started at your Denver apartments.

Unplug/turn off/turn down stuff - If you’re leaving a room, turn the light off. If your not using the water, then turn the faucet off. If something’s finished charging, then unplug it. You can “copy/paste” this ideology for almost anything resource-based.
BYOB – Instead of using whatever paper or plastic bags you could get at a grocery store, or really any retailer, bring your own. It will keep those other bags out of a landfil, or at least it will for a little longer.
The Ride – If you don’t have to drive, save your gas. If possible, utilize public transit. Also, see if there’s a co-worker or fellow student (etc.) in your area that you could carpool with.
