Student win a Full Tuition Fee Waivers to Sunway College in Public Speaking Competition

“The global education system today is far too focused on standardised text. This approach is great at creating individuals who are intelligent, but has yet to create the kind that helps the society progress in meaningful ways. This text reveals nothing of their common sense or wisdom despite the fact that these qualities are enormously important in making the world a better place.” This was one of the points made by Shameena Gill of SMK(P) Methodist, Ipoh who took home the champion trophy at the Oxford and Cambridge Society Malaysia 15th English Language Event: Public Speaking Competition 2017 at Sunway College.

The Form Five student won herself a full tuition fee waiver for any pre-university programme at Sunway College, a cash prize of RM600, a Champion trophy, a certificate of commendation from the Oxford and Cambridge Society Malaysia and the Challenge trophy for her school.

Margaret Hall, Chairperson of the 15th Oxford and Cambridge Society Malaysia English Language Event said Shameena’s presentation with good content and her understanding of the difference between intelligence and wisdom distinguished her from the other five finalists. Hall shared that the judges found all six finalists very calm and confident when they presented their stories on stage.

Sravan Krsna Rao A/L Venikatasamra Rao of SMK Kota Kemuning, came in second while Kyle Boonwaat, also from SMK Kota Kemuning took the third place. Sravan Krsna took home RM10,000 tuition fee waiver for any pre-university programme at Sunway College and cash prize of RM400, while Kyle won RM8,000 tuition fee waiver for any pre-university programme at Sunway College and cash prize of RM200. Both also received a trophy and a certificate of commendation each.

Winners of the consolation prizes were Abdullah B. Abd. Shukor of SMK Sultan Abdul Samad; Dhavin Kumar LaL Asokan of SMK Taman Connaught and Melanie Fernandez of SMK Puteri, Seremban. Each took home RM2,000 tuition fee waiver for any pre-university programme at Sunway College, a cash prize of RM100, individual trophy and a certificate.

The panel of judges for the final comprised of Professor Abhi Veerakumarasivam, Chacko Vadaketh, and Sharifah Bakar Ali of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Malaysia.

Dr Elizabeth Lee, Senior Executive Director of Sunway Education Group and Sunway University hoped that the competition can help to reinforce language and critical thinking skills amongst high school students and at the same time sharpen their communication and articulation skills.

The competition organised by Sunway College together with the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Malaysia saw a crowd of approximately 800 students from Form Four and Form Five, accompanied by their teachers from 20 schools attending the event.

Asides from the competition, guest speakers shared tips on effective writing and oral communication skills. Speakers for the day were Professor Abhi Veerakumarasivam, Chacko Vadaketh, and Danial Rahman, Press Secretary to Malaysia’s Minister of Higher Education.

After two rounds of competition, Desmond Giam and Sew Qian Hong of Chong Hwa Independent High School, Kuala Lumpur emerged Champion in the Sunway College A-Level Maths and Logic Challenge 2017, National Level.

The duo each won themselves a full Sunway College A-Level bursary and or a Sunway University degree bursary worth RM48,000 for studies in Actuarial Studies, Financial Analysis or Financial Economics, a certificate of commendation and an individual trophy. The team also received the Challenge Trophy and a cash prize of RM800 for their school.

Kimberley Tan Hui Ru and Philip Lee Hann Yung of Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) came in second, each taking home a Sunway College A-Level Bursary worth RM16,000 and or a Sunway University degree bursary worth RM36,000 for studies in Actuarial Studies, Financial Analysis or Financial Economics, a certificate of commendation and individual trophy. They also won RM600 for their school.

In third place were Lim Ming Yean and Wong Yong Han from SMJK Katholik, Petaling Jaya who took home a Sunway College A-Level bursary worth RM12,000 and or a Sunway University degree bursary with RM24,000 for studies in Actuarial Studies, Financial Analysis or Financial Economics, a certificate of commendation and individual trophy each, and RM500 for their school.

In addition to this, 3 teams with the highest scores in each state were awarded with certificates of commendation for their achievements.

During the prize giving ceremony, Dr Elizabeth Lee, Senior Executive Director of Sunway Education Group and Sunway University took the opportunity to congratulate the participants. Also present were Cheng Mien Wee, Executive Director, Sunway International School and Director of Pre-University Studies, Sunway College.

The 11th edition of the competition saw a total participation of 357 students and 71 teachers from 69 secondary schools from Penang, Johor, Perak, Malacca, Kedah, Pahang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan, gathered at the Jeffrey Cheah Hall, Sunway College.

Organised by Sunway College annually, the competition aims to promote excellence in mathematics amongst secondary school students.

Enhancing Students’ Experience through Competition

Over one weekend, 23 students displayed their innovative products and services at the 3rd Nurturing Business Champions (NBC) competition, hosted by Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence (CAE), Sunway College.

The champions, Jack Ng Wei Lun, Low Sindy, Jessica Ngan Keh Jinn and Tey Hsien Chyi of Team Vib! took home RM8,000 cash prize. The team of four developed and presented a new product named “Vib!”, an electronic device which uses vibration detection and sonar technology to transform any hard surface into a smart interface (touch screen).

Team FanTEStic, led by Ravena Jazmine Kavi Rao, came in second. Ravena, together with her team members Lee Suen, Clarissa Foo Xin Syuen and Tay Hui Zhen, developed “Wow! Kit” a cosmetic product which consists of “Wow! Liner”, a pencil eyeliner with iron powder and “Wow! Lashes”, a lash band made of magnetic sheet, enabling consumers to apply eyelashes without the need to use any form of glue. The all-girl team took away the first runner-up prize, winning themselves RM6,000 cash.

Goh Zhou Sheann, Ng Zhi Qian, Ng Han Qi, Melaine Mok Zi Qing and Nurin Syahirah Ishma Osman of team DIA came in second runner-up, taking home RM4,000 cash. Led by Goh, the team developed and presented their business proposal on a smart wallet device named DIA, which offers its users with cash-flow auto detector that works closely with an application that comes with the device.

In addition, 10 teams received awards for being the best in class for the preliminary round.

The competition which aims to help develop students’ skills in effective communication, emotional intelligence and critical thinking, saw a total of 305 students from Diploma in Professional Accounting, Certified Accounting Technician (CAT), and Certificate in Finance Accounting and Business (CFAB) taking part in the preliminary round, with the top 5 teams successfully advancing to the final round.

Lee Marsha from Sri Desa Learning Centre Sdn Bhd, emerged champion with her speech titled “Self Image” in the Sunway Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) Pitch Competition 2017, winning herself a bursary of RM16,000 to pursue the AUSMAT programme at Sunway College.

Woo Yi Mun from Pusat Tuisyen Akademi Johan, who spoke on “Jury vs Judge” came in 1st Runner-up. Yi Mun won a RM12,000 bursary to pursue the AUSMAT programme.

Coming in 2nd Runner-up was Judith Elise Gomes from Rightbridge Academy, who won herself RM10,000 bursary to study the AUSMAT programme. Her topic was “Feminism: The Fight for Equality”. Asides from the bursary, all three winners also received a certificate of commendation and individual trophies.

In this year’s competition, Alexandria Goh Hui Yi from Nobel International School, Marcus Chai Zhen Yang from Cambridge Asia Learning Academy and Jolene Tan Hui Ling from Sri Emas International School received the consolation prize, taking home a bursary of RM8,000 each. Three of them also walked away with individual trophies and a certificate of commendation.

The competition had 18 participants from various international and private schools taking part, where each participant was given 2 minutes to pitch their topic in the first round. 6 finalists were then selected to compete in the final round, where they were given 4 minutes to further elaborate on the topic delivered in the first round.

Judges for the first round of the competition were Mahejah Maria Angamuthu, senior lecturer; Nur Jalilah Abdul Aziz and Mark Saw, lecturer of AUSMAT programme. For the final round, the panel of judges consisted of Cheng Mien Wee, Director of Pre-Universities Studies; Vanitha S., Director of AUSMAT programme and A. Alagarani, lecturer of VU Undergraduate programme, Sunway College.

Sunway’s SEA Games 2017 Medallists Honoured With A Heroes Welcome

Hundreds of excited and proud Sunwayians gathered to welcome back our heroes & to honour their outstanding achievements at the SEA GAMES 2017.

The Flag waving crowd gave the returning heroes a raucous reception as each winner was announced to the stage and presented with a wide array of gifts from all across the Sunway family.

Lead by Dr Elizabeth Lee , the athletes were each represented their winning medals, much to the delight of the student community who had gathered since the early morning to secure the best viewing position of the winners.

Once again, just like at the Games itself, the National Anthem was played with great pride as the huge crowd sung along with their heroes in an emotional rendition of the Negaraku.

The athletes then took time to mingle with the students, sign autographs and allow the excited crowd their “ Selfie Moment “ with the winners.

Many in the crowd, including SEA Games Mascot Rimau , Sunway mascots Samson & Sophia and the Athletes were all proudly wearing a specially designed IHEART SU SEA GAMES badge , uniquely created to commemorative this outstanding achievement by the Sunway Students & Alumni.

CPA Australia x KPMG Undergrad Challenge

Three outstanding students from the Victoria University Undergraduate Programme, Cheah Luey Teng, Avelynn Michael and Poong Chun Leong participated in the CPA Australia x KPMG Undergrad Challenge Competition on 17 July 2017. Having successfully passed the first two rounds of challenges, this dynamic trio gained valuable experiences preparing and presenting to a board of professional judges from CPA Australia and KPMG Malaysia in their final round. Their impressive presentation won them the consolation prize and an internship with KPMG.

CIMP alumni won medals at SEA games

CIMP is proud of its two alumni who represented Malaysia at the SEA Games this September. Gymnasts Farah Ann Binti Abdul Hadi and Tang Ing Yueh both graduated from CIMP and were part of the gold medal-winning team at the SEA Games. Farah also won gold with her individual floor routine, nailing the final tricky pass. Ing Yueh also took home the gold medal on the vault and silver on the balance beam.

CIMP students topped the nominations for the 2017 Harvard Prize Book Award with 7 of the 15 finalists. In the end of the 4 winners, two came from CIMP and another representing the Canadian Programme from Sunway International School. Loo Foong Ann and Lee Shirley were thrilled to represent CIMP and Edmund Chung Sim Wea was selected from SIS. Each winner took home an RM2000 cash prize.

Sunway TES is proud to announce the two students who have been the cream of the crop in the EY Young Tax Professional of the Year 2017 competition held on the 7th September 2017. We would like to wish our heartiest congratulations Marissa Lee Sher May as she prevailed to be the champion for the National finals of YTPY 2017. Coming in as second runner-up of the National finals was Yee Pui Kei.

As the champion of YTPY 2017 Malaysia, Marissa Lee will be representing the country at the YTPY International competition set to be held in the Netherlands from 26 to 30 November 2017. She has also secured herself a choice of paid internship of more than two months or a conditional offer of employment with one of the big 5 firms in Malaysia, Ernest Young (EY), as well as a cash prize of RM8,000.

YTPY is started by EY in year 2011 to nurture the next generation of tax professionals that the world needs through encouragement and professional guidance in tax knowledge. Annually, EY gathers fellow students over the world to compete and demonstrate their tax technical skills. This year, over 30 countries are involved in the competition. Participants are given case studies which requires intensive researching and preparation before they present it to the judges. The champion is sought for their creativity, analytical strengths, practical skills, inclusive leadership behaviour and personality.

MASISWA Sports Carnival Selangor Zone 2017

It was the very first time Sunway University selected as the host for the MASISWA Sports Carnival Selangor Zone Championship. It was like a dream came true for Sunway Sports Team to be given the opportunity and chance as an ideal opportunity for the us to promote our facilities within the campus and around Bandar Sunway. 4 sports contested (Table Tennis, Badminton, Netball and Chess) during the three days event. The medals handed out, and the record books closed. A total of 21 institutions took part for this year.

Many memorable moments were created throughout the duration of the games. With the end of the championship, the work and effort put in over the last few months by the entire contingent of Team Sunway finally came to fruition. Team Sunway emerged as the overall champions this year. They bagged 4 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze.

Sunway Sports Team would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to MASISWA Secretariat for their assistance and guidance given. Many thanks as well team manager’s cooperation and support from 21 institutions. Congratulations to all winners! Majlis Sukan IPTS Malaysia (MASISWA) Bowling Championship 2017 was held on the 29th – 30th August at Sunway Mega Lanes. The event started with Singles event and ended with Doubles event over the two days event. It was another huge honour for Sunway Sports Team to be given another opportunity to host the prestigious event once again this year.

Malaysia Fest 2017

Malaysia is known for its many faceted diversities. 16th of September mark the day that Malaysia was formed and the Sekretariat Rukun Negara Sunway took the opportunity to celebrate it. The event was filled with cultural performances and a mini traditional exhibition that allowed us to preserve the cultural traditions.

The Sunway University Chinese Independent School Alumni (CISA) gave the audience a spectacular performance by showing off their beats and rhythms on the Chinese traditional drums.

A booth providing henna art (a temporary body art based on dyes) was present to offer their service to both students and staff. It is said that henna tattooing today is used as an expression of luck and happiness. Good luck everyone!

Introduction To Fintech

VU @ Sunway had once again organised another outstanding Talk on the 18th August 2017 entitled “Introduction to Fintech – Part 1”, organised by Dr Benedict Valentine Arulanandam. A total of 56 students enrolled for this event. The talk included: Overview of Fintech, Governance and Financial Regulations, Branding and Marketing of Fintech and the future of banking technologies. Students were interactive and appreciated the insightful knowledge of Fintech.

VU Business Challenge 2017

It was a much-anticipated day for the Chinese Independent Schools as they walked into Sunway College on July 1, 2017. The VU Business Challenge, organised by the Victoria University Undergraduate Programme (VUUP) and supported by Sunway College, is an annual competition held to encourage budding entrepreneurs to showcase their creative innovations that can solve common day-to-day problems and meet customer needs. As the challenge rewards lucrative prizes for winners, the competition had high stakes and required the high school students to undergo a series of presentation rounds before being selected for the final pitch in front of invited adjudicators from the industry.

As per entry requirements, the schools will first need to submit a written proposal and a 3-minute video pitch. This year, 18 schools participated with 64 teams sending in their proposals. Twenty teams from ten schools were shortlisted and these teams then had to produce and send in a short commercial. The commercials were published on VU@Sunway FB for public viewing and to win the “The Best Advertisement Award”, the commercials would need to get the most ‘likes’ from their viewers. These 20 teams also presented at their respective booths at the Sunway Campus. The 20 semi-finalists were:

On the challenge day, the 383 attendees of teachers, participants, student supporters and even parents made the whole event a jubilant and successful one with their dynamic participation, inquisitive questioning and supportive cheers for each presentation. Once the judges had completed their rounds at each booth, the students anxiously waited for the announcement of the top five teams. The selected five teams then did their final pitch on stage to the judges; Ms Wong Lei Lei, Director of Marketing, Sunway College, Mr Lee Thye Chong, Director of MUFY and Mr Leong Hoo Yin from Expressolab. The finalists received valuable feedback from these industry experts as the judges fairly presented to them the harsh realities faced by entrepreneurs during their product presentations. The students realised the importance of each minute they have during their pitch to sell their ideas to potential clients and why perfect delivery of relevant content is needed from them.

Finally, after the judges’ deliberation, the much-awaited results of the winners were announced. Due to their outstanding teams, Jit Sin Independent High School, Bukit Mertajam, bagged all three top prizes. Their team, Parkiee Sdn Bhd emerged as champion of the VU Business Challenge. The students each received a study bursary of RM180, 000. The 1^st and 2^nd runner ups received each a study bursary of RM 120, 000 and RM 96,000 respectively. The Consolation prizes went to Kuen Cheng High School, KL with each participant receiving a study bursary of RM 20, 000 and Chung Hwa Middle School, Port Dickson, took home the Best Advertisement Award. Teaching & Learning Seminar 2017 VU @ Sunway

This is the second Teaching & Learning related event organised by the Teaching & Learning committee of VU Undergraduate Programme. This seminar was held on 7 September at LT5, New University Building at Sunway University. The T&L seminar is a showcase of research work from VUUP staff. The aim of the seminar is to foster a stronger research culture within the department and to encourage research projects and related initiatives among the staff.

In her opening remarks, Ms Greeja Hemalata De Silva, the Director of VU Undergraduate Programme, expressed her joy to officiate the seminar and welcomed the guest of honour, Dr Hendry, Head of VU MBA at Sunway College. The first team which started off the presentation was led by Dr Jason and they talked about perception on quality of a twinning programme. Each team was given 15-30 minutes for presentation and 15 minutes for Q&A.

There were in total 10 presentations delivered in this seminar. The topics covered were relevant to education, marketing, accounting and finance. The Q&A session after each presentation encouraged the sharing of knowledge by both presenter and audience. The staff also had the opportunity to participate in insight provoking discussion and exchanged ideas with colleagues.

In her closing speech, Ms Greeja expressed her appreciation to Dr Henry for sparing time from his busy schedule to attend this seminar and she also thanked the coordinator of Teaching & Learning committee Ms Soon Pei Shan for organising the seminar. After receiving the token of appreciation from Ms Greeja, Dr Henry congratulated the organising committee and all the presenters for their hard work and interesting studies. He encouraged the presented proposals to be submitted to Pre-U Conference which will be held next year.

The Harvard Club of Malaysia collaborates with Sunway College held a ceremony to celebrates the Top 4 winners of the Harvard Prize Book Award. Lee Shirley (CIMP), Loo Foong Ann (CIMP), Chong Zhen Yuen (A Level), and Edmund Chung Sim Wea (SIS), They each received RM 2,000 cash prize, a copy of the Harvard Prize Book, a certificate endorsed by the Harvard Club of Malaysia and an internship opportunity with the Harvard Club of Malaysia.

This has been the seven-year collaboration between Harvard Club of Malaysia and Sunway College. Since 1910, Harvard University has been awarding Harvard Prize Book Award to outstanding students worldwide in recognition to their academic achievement and demonstrate exceptional contribution in community service.

Sunway Students and Alumni Contribute 7 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze Medals For Malaysia In The 29th SEA Games

7 students and 4 alumni from Sunway University represented Team Malaysia in the 29th SEA Games 2017 which also branded as Kuala Lumpur 2017. Taking part in the five sports of artistic gymnastics, ice hockey, swimming, bowling and ice skating - the athletes came away with an impressive medal tally of 7 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze. The games were an amazing experience for all our athletes. They are all winners at the games.

Well done to all 11 of our athletes who took part in the games. You can all walk away knowing that you all worked so hard to be representing your country. We are so proud of all of you for how hard you have worked. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication over the months of training and helping to achieve the target of 111 Gold.

MUFY wins Monash University Innovation Challenge 2017

Monash Innovation Challenge 2017 was open to all Pre-University students and the challenge was to develop innovative and practical solutions for the less fortunate in Malaysia. Students had to propose an idea and build a prototype. Shortlisted teams presented their working prototype and pitched to a panel from Monash University Malaysia.

MUFY teams won the 1st and 3rd prizes and walked away with RM5000 and RM3000 respectively for their innovative prototypes.

1st prize (Jeffrey Loo Moon Seng, Loo Meng Yoon, Randy Chin Wei Jin, Nicholas Loong Kah Fai)

Prototype: The device is a walking stick accessory to enhance the mobility of the blind using ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles higher than the walking stick. The device will be powered by renewable energy.

3rd prize (Wong Zhi Wei, Izad Imran, Tan Tze Jie, Ashraf Alias)

Prototype: 'Clip n Go' is a device that uses motion and sunlight to charge a battery using a piezoelectric generator and solar cells. It will be worn on clothes during the day to charge and will power up LED lights in homes of the less fortunate.

Sunway Education Open Day July 2017

The Sunway Education Open Day held on 8 & 9 July was an excellent platform for students & parents who wanted to know more about certain courses/programmes prior to enrolment, or wanted to check out the campus and facilities. Lecturers and academic staff were on hand to provide information and advice, while current students shared their experiences with prospective students.

There were various talks covering courses & programmes offered in Sunway College and Sunway University. Besides, there were Career Interest Assessment, Culinary demonstration by the School of Hospitality, student artwork displays at the School of Arts facilities, Psychology, BioSciences & Computing showcases, and a free health check by Nursing students.

Open Day is also the time to find out what it’s really like to be a student here. Student ambassadors and staff members took Open Day visitors around for campus tours (covering areas such as classrooms, laboratories, library, auditoriums, studios etc) and residence tours for students who require on-campus accommodation.

The next Open Day will be in December, which is a good time for school leavers to explore their tertiary education pathways and options.

30th Anniversary Celebration

On the 25th July 1987, Sunway College Opened its doors in Petaling Jaya exactly 30 years later to the day, the Sunway Education Group held a magnificent party to celebrate, an evening truly worthy of such an achievement .

Over 4000 students and staff gathered on the campus grounds to enjoy, for the First time EVER in the ASEAN region, a 4 ( four ) 3D Laser Projection Light Show. Another outstanding first for Sunway (confirmed by EPSON )

The evening started with Candy Floss stall, Hot Dogs and refreshments being served to our guests from the wide range of booths available, all supported with fun fair activities for our younger friends.

Many young students from the popular Sunway’s Got Talent performed as the crowd eagerly anticipated the great event of the evening, and what a build-up it was.

The Merlin Award Winning Magician Mahdi Moudini wowed the crowd before disappearing and then magically reappearing on top of the 12-storey university building to spectacularly launch the event, an unbelievable feat to start the show.

Over 3000 Glow Sticks added a wonderful colour to the proceedings as 4000 happy students lit up the night sky at Sunway City as the projection mapping show began. The 30 minute laser light show featured all the magnificent milestones of the successful Sunway Education Group Journey and had the thousands in the crowd dancing with joy.

The event attracted 10 different camera crews from all across the globe who came to capture the event and it was also widely covered across all local media.

At the end of the show Tan Sri addressed the crowd and was quite overwhelmed by the glorious reception from his students.

It was a memorable night as another magical milestone in his remarkable story was achieved.

Sunway Oxbridge Dream Summer School 2017

Dreams of experiencing the life as a scholar in Cambridge and Oxford University came true for eight students of Sunway College. Seven A Level students, namely, Ezekiel Chow, Fong Fang Te. Laura Yew, Lee Li Zhu, Tan Vee Shuen, Max Leong Yu Shuen Ben Ang Zi Qi and Karen Kok May May from Ausmat Programme under the leadership of Ruth Cheah left Sunway Campus on the 12th of July to catch the late night flight to London. They had the privilege and opportunity to live and study in the Cambridge University college for 10 days from the 13th July to 22nd July including 3 days in Oxford.

Many activities were planned and lined up to enable them to gain leadership skills and knowledge to enhance their academic success. Our first day in Oxford started with a warm reception and a tour of Keble College, which was our lodging place in Oxford. After a hearty dinner of Western food. we went on a walking tour in central Oxford. Among some significant places and memorable iconic medieval buildings that we visited were the Radcliffe Camera and Bodleian Library, Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology view world famous objects dating from 8000 B.C. to the present day including the World`s greatest collection of Raphael drawings. The supposedly frightening ghost trail of Bill Spectre `s world-famous Oxford Ghost Trail turned out humorous and fun. Nevertheless, we did learn about the “Darker history of the dreaming Spires” led by a Victorian costumed guide. We were given the opportunity to walk around some of the oldest and best-known Colleges where Harry Potter was filmed.

The Sunway group was blessed with a night stay at Imperial College in the city centre of London enabling us to visit some world famous landmarks: - a tour inside the House of Parliament, the seat of the British government. Science Museum where the students had the opportunity to learn about the History of Medicine, Robots, Mathematics, Engineering inventions, Future of Energy, Big Data; Walking tour of Big Ben and the Buckingham Palace.

In Girton College, Cambridge, classes began with stimulating subjects taught by inspirational Cambridge lecturers; Academic English lessons to improve essay writing, research and note-taking; participants were mentored by Cambridge students, integration with students from local British schools and from other countries; university admission advice, personal statements and interview practice, hands-on interactive workshops such as the Business Challenge where our students prepared and pitched their ideas to gain maximum investment. Having a day on outdoor activities through sports with the aim of harnessing leadership and organisational skills. The Summer School Programme ended with a `Silver Service` candlelit dinner followed by a formal presentation of certificates. Personal Reports and Awards.

To sum up on how the Sunway Oxbridge Dream Summer School has benefitted the participants, it has certainly stretched them beyond limits to greater heights and motivated to dream big to aspire great things.

MUFY Graduation July 2017

MUFY students at Sunway College Kuala Lumpur chalked up another impressive performance in the July 2017 examinations by winning 17 out of 22 Subject awards. MUFY Subject Awards are presented to students who achieve the highest score among all providers of MUFY worldwide in their respective subjects.

Jasmine Chiam Wan Ern received the MUFY Excellence Award for achieving an outstanding average score of 97.25%.

28 students received the Monash University High Achiever Award for achieving an average score of 89% and above.

115 students achieved an average High Distinction score of at least 80% to be eligible for Monash University scholarship awards.

Victoria University Undergraduate Students Visit Nestlé Malaysia

41 VUBB undergraduates visited Nestlé Malaysia on 22 May 2017 led by Dr Benedict V. Arulanandam and Ms A. Alagarani. They were briefed on the various operational aspects by a diverse management team. Our students also had the opportunity to mingle with the Interns and Management Trainees. The visit proved to be an eye opener for our students and feedback received from them are very encouraging.
