Martin Hsu recently revealed the new Dragon Boy colorway at Young Art Taipei Exhibition in Taiwan. Designed for Wingrow Gallery in Taiwan, the brand new colorway is inspired by colors from Chinese folk art. I must have this!!

In addition to the new vinyl figures, 2 life-size fiberglass Dragon Boys (original and Wingrow colorways) were on display at the show, and they both sold! See more photos from Young Art Taipei on Martin’s Facebook page.

If you preordered the OG Dragon Boy, your wait will soon be over. Martin expects to receive them at his doorstep sometime in June. All pending orders will ship first, and he will be planning a second official release in June.

This is also Memorial Day weekend. To kick off this Monstrous Summer, the parks will be open 24 hours starting Friday morning at 6AM and remaining open until Saturday morning 6AM.

First, I want to thank Leanna Lin Fong for giving me the opportunity to curate another show at Wonderland! And I want to thank all of the artists who participated in the show. All of your collaborations look fantastic! Special thanks to the artists who came out for the evening. Grace’s daughter Mia loved the Dubious Beasts show so much that she sent me a thank you card with this drawing. Isn’t it the best thing ever?!

Thanks to Rodger for taking photos throughout the evening and for being so supportive, in general. I don’t know why but I was super nervous right before the opening. Fortunately, Rodger was there to keep me calm and to remind me to just have a good time.

Rodger’s family happened to be in town for Mother’s Day weekend, and we were so happy that they could join us for opening night. His mom and oldest sister were visiting from Sacramento, and one of his sisters flew in from Colorado. Also represented in this shot are Chino Hills and Burbank! One of Susie and Irene’s tiny bog turtles will be flying to Sacramento to be with its new owner.

Looks like Fat Rabbit Farm is working on a new plush!! Rumor has it that Panda Babee Plush might be making its first appearance at San Diego Comic-Con. Bay Area friends, go visit Fat Rabbit Farm at Maker Faire this weekend, May 18-19.

Here’s Susie Ghahremani signing a copy of ‘What Will Hatch?’ for an adorable fan. Susie’s first Los Angeles book signing took place during the opening reception of Supah Mashup Art Party at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland. I think Leanna Lin’s may still have some signed copies of the book left. You can also order directly from Susie, or ask your independent bookseller to carry copies of the book.

For Supah Mashup Art Party, Susie worked on two separate collaborations. This piece titled “Contrails” was created by Susie and Jared Andrew Schorr and is still available.

Her collaborative works with Irene Stone are also available at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland through July 14, 2013. Woolly Mammoth and Tiny Bog Turtle #2 are already spoken for, and Tiny Bog Turtle #2 is on hold. These would make great gifts for cross stitch fans! All of the pieces from the Supah Mashup exhibition can be seen here.

I had the chance to preview all of the Supah Mashup pieces today at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland, and I can’t even begin to describe how happy I am. I really think you will love this exhibition as much as I do. If you haven’t signed up for the preview list yet, sign up today!

While I was there, I was able to preview The Corner Museum of Dubious Beasts featuring Leslie Levings and Shing Yin Khor. The level of talent in that art corner seriously blew my mind!! I guarantee your jaw will drop when you see all of their curious critters.

We’ve got a lot of fun things planned for this Saturday’s opening reception. Music by DJ Laminlove, cupcakes by Miss Priss Cupcakes & Such, small bites provided by Masacasa, and fruit flavored soft drinks from Jarritos. Free goodie bags to the first 10 people to spend $50 or more.
