MotoAmerica Support Classes: MotoAmerica Feature Class Title Races Converge On COTA , Hooligan Champion To Be Crowned While Supersport, Baggers And Talent Cup Begin Penultimate Round In Close Title Fights.

Four MotoAmerica Feature Classes add a quartet of tight championship fights to this weekend’s Quad Lock Superbike action at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas. Supersport, Mission King Of The Baggers and Talent Cup all head into COTA with time running out, while the Mission Super Hooligan National Championship reaches its season finale for the class, with the number-one plate up for grabs in Texas.

COTA’s 3.41-mile, 20-turn counterclockwise circuit is one of the most physically and technically demanding venues on the calendar, and it will test every class on the grid. The Texas heat forecast for the weekend is expected to push competitors to their limits across three days of racing, placing a premium on rider endurance and tire management regardless of what machine they’re piloting.

Supersport
For Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire/Warhorse Ducati’s Darryn Binder, COTA is the only track on the MotoAmerica calendar where he has multiple races under his belt. The South African currently holds a 35 point lead over Rahal Ducati Moto with Desnuda Organic Tequila’s Josh Herrin and looks to lean on his prior MotoGP, Moto 2 and Moto 3 experiences to put the points lead further out of reach from Herrin.

Behind the leading duo, Rahal Ducati Moto with Droplight’s Kayla Yaakov sits 129 points behind in third. The 19-year-old holds a slim three-point advantage over BPR Racing Yamaha’s Josh Hayes in fourth. Hayes’ Race 2 win at VIR was the 90th of his lengthy AMA/MotoAmerica career, putting him just two shy of tying Cameron Beaubier’s current all-time record at 92. Hayes has recorded top-five finishes in 10 of 15 races and eyes a podium points spot just ahead.

Rounding out the top five in points is M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Tyler Scott. Scott will opt out of the Supersport class for COTA to fill in for his injured Superbike teammate Richie Escalante. In the Pennsylvanian’s place and making his MotoAmerica Supersport debut will be the team’s Twins Cup rider, 16-year-old Australian Bodie Paige.

Through a remarkable display of determination and an immense tolerance for the pain of physical rehabilitation, MP13 Racing/One Cure Racing’s Ella Dreher will re-enter the field for the COTA round. The 16-year-old Florida native rejoins the team in Texas after a grueling four-month recovery from her crash at Barber Motorsports Park earlier this year. She looks to regain her race pace before looking forward to 2027 with the MV Agusta-supported team.

Finally, the Supersport grid grows by one for the Texas round as 16-year-old Austin native Mikey Lou Sanchez is set to make his professional debut on home soil. In an impressive milestone for the series’ talent pipeline, the former MotoAmerica Mini Cup champion will pilot a third Celtic Racing/Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati Panigale V2, proving the youth program directly leads to the professional MotoAmerica grid.

Mission King Of The Baggers
J&P Cycles/Motul/Vance & Hines Factory Indian’s Hayden Gillim took double victory during the previous round at Mid-Ohio, charging from sixth to win Race 2 by 0.25 of a second over teammate Troy Herfoss. Harley-Davidson x Dynojet Factory Racing’s Bradley Smith rounded out the podium in third, and that’s exactly how the Mission King Of The Baggers field begins their final two rounds with a stop in Texas.

Gillim brings a 23-point lead into COTA, a cushion built on race craft as much as speed. The Kentucky-native has made a habit of finding his way to the front if he isn’t already there at the start.

In second is Herfoss, the only rider with a realistic path to catching his teammate after pushing him to the wire more than once already this year. Smith sits third, 54 points back — technically alive but needing plenty to go his way over the final two rounds if Harley-Davidson is going to have a say in how this one ends.

Talent Cup
Championship leader Kensei Matsudaira of Team Roberts has his hands full behind him after the previous round, salvaging a pair of podium finishes after a challenging weekend in Virginia.

The 15-year-old Californian still leads the standings, but the margin that once stood at 23 points is down to just five after Quarterley Racing’s Nathan Gouker clawed back 18 with his double-victory performance at his home round. Matsudaira had to fight for every position to protect it, and he’ll need more of that grit at COTA to keep the pressure from turning into a deficit before the final round in New Jersey.

Gouker is the one applying it, riding a wave of momentum after his second straight win on home-region asphalt. Team Hammer’s Jake Paige rounds out the top three, 73 points back — technically still in the conversation, but needing a big weekend, and then some help, to stay in the hunt.

COTA isn’t new to this group — it’s where the 2026 season began. Matsudaira and Gouker split the two season-opening races back in March, trading wins separated by two-tenths of a second and a quarter-second, while Paige and Yamaha BLU CRU Estenson Racing’s Sam Drane swapped the final two podium spots by similarly slim margins in both races. That was before the series had turned a single competitive lap of the season. Now, with a full championship’s worth of racing and data behind them, all four return to Texas with a level of track knowledge none of them had back in March — enough that COTA could play out as a completely different race this time around.

Super Hooligan
Andy DiBrino held off BPR Racing Yamaha teammate and Team Owner Bryce Kornbau by 0.216 of a second at Mid-Ohio, making a last-lap pass in the esses to continue a mid-to-late season trend of the two swapping wins over the last four rounds, and DiBrino on a run of six straight podiums.

DiBrino’s cushion at the front is just as thin — a five-point lead with two races and 50 points left to award. He’s had to earn every bit of it as Kornbau has set multiple lap records this season and the margin could swing either way in Texas.

Gus Rodio (Rodio Racing) sits third, 19 points back, and remains the only other rider with a mathematical path to the title. Defending champion James Rispoli of Saddlemen Race Development, 53 points behind with just 50 on the table, has officially run out of road — leaving the fight for the 2026 crown to the top three at this final stop in Texas.

The Far East welcomes the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championships this weekend as round 18, the Oriental Beauty Valley MXGP of China, takes place in the southern Fengxiang District of the Magic City, at the Shanghai International Off-Road Circuit near Hangzhou Bay, that leads directly to the East China Sea as it flows into the Pacific Ocean!

This will be the fourth MXGP event in one of the world’s most populous cities, and the expected heat and humidity will make life tough for every rider out there as they tackle the penultimate round of the series at a venue with heavily-updated facilities for all involved.

Newly-confirmed 2026 MXGP World Champion Jeffrey Herlings shares the record of most GP wins in China with Jorge Prado, having won two of the three MXGP events at this circuit so far, including a dominant 1-1 performance last year, and the Honda HRC Petronas pilot, who celebrates his 32nd birthday on the Saturday of the event, will not be expected to take things easy as he tries to reach a century and a quarter of GP victories by the close of the season!

His domination has been absolute on his way to securing the title in Türkiye, so much so that he hasn’t been off the top spot in every practice session and every race since the Qualifying Race of Foxhills, which was round 12 in mid-July! He will be in no mood to let that streak end, despite clinching the title with his fifth straight perfect weekend at Afyon.

Second place in the MXGP Championship is still to be decided, and outgoing #1 plate holder Romain Febvre will be very keen to add one final GP victory to his total for Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP before he leaves at the end of the season. He has a 40-point advantage over third-placed Tim Gajser, who is also searching for his first GP win of the series for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP, at a track where he earned second overall last year.

The MX2 World Championship has still yet to be decided, but Spaniard Guillem Farres strengthened his position considerably at the MXGP of Türkiye, with the sixth win of his career for the Triumph Racing Factory Team, and the British manufacturer now has a 1-2 in the series as Camden McLellan took advantage of a rough weekend for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider Sacha Coenen.  The Belgian is now ten points behind the South African, who in turn is 50 points behind Farres.

The red plate holder can clinch the title if he gains ten points or more on his teammate, and does not get outscored by Coenen over the three races in China.  Reigning World Champion Simon Längenfelder has an outside chance for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, but would have to make over 20 points on Farres to keep alive in the chase before the final round.  Liam Everts is in an even more unrealistic mathematical chance for Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing, having to make up over 50 points on the Spaniard to stay in it!

There will be a small slice of MXGP history this weekend, as Brian Hsu enters as a wildcard for the JHL Factory Racing squad, becoming the first rider ever to race a Chinese motorcycle in the World Motocross Championships on the JHL LX350R machine.

It should be an intriguing event in the deep heat as the MXGP of China shows the far east what Motocross is all about in Shanghai!

Even though Jeffrey Herlings has now wrapped up his sixth world title, “The Bullet” is known for being merciless when it comes to racking up his career numbers, and now with 123 GP victories to his name, he will be eyeing up that 125 as a nice number to end the season on! If he does achieve that, it will bring the all-time GP win tally for his home country, The Netherlands, up to 250.  So yes, exactly double what he would be on!  Watch for those late laps in the practice sessions that break the hearts of his opposition!  He has landed on the podium each time here in China, last year with a perfect 1-1-1 weekend, third in 2024, and a 2-1 GP victory at the first ever Chinese event in 2019.  His race win streak, including Qualifying Races, is now at 17!

Romain Febvre has won a single race here, after missing 2019 through injury he took second overall in 2024, and a solid fourth overall last year put him on course to clinch the title in Australia. The Frenchman will be very keen to win a GP with the #1 plate, which he lets go of after the final round next weekend.

Tim Gajser was fifth in China in 2019, but suffered machine damage here in 2024 that seriously hurt his title challenge. He bounced back with a fine 2-2-2 weekend as runner-up to Herlings last season. The Slovenian needs to take a big chunk of points out of Febvre if he is to challenge for second in the series at the final round.

The injured Lucas Coenen, 2024 MX2 winner at Shanghai, is not likely to line up in China, and his fellow Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider Andrea Adamo is now seven points behind the Belgian for fourth in the Championship. The Italian took his last ever MX2 race win at this circuit in 2025, so his ability to deal with the heat is not in question! Just 14 points behind him is Tom Vialle, who took second overall to Jorge Prado in his only Chinese event so far seven years ago, and he has enjoyed a fine run of form lately with four podiums from the last five GPs.  His Honda HRC Petronas teammate, Ruben Fernandez, has had a rough couple of GPs before China and now sits seventh in the series, 22 points behind his teammate. The strong Spaniard has finished fourth and third overall at this venue, so a fight back is definitely possible after his brilliant podium last year.

Both Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP’s Maxime Renaux and Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Kay de Wolf are out for the season, and virtually assured of eighth and ninth positions in the final points tally. Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Latvian Pauls Jonass can confirm his top ten status this weekend if he finishes ahead of the Honda Team SR Motoblouz Motul rider Kevin Horgmo. Neither rider has fantastic results to their name in China but will be keen to end their season strongly.

With the title decided, the MXGP elite can ride without serious pressure in China, which often means they can throw caution to the winds as they go for the best results possible!  The physical challenge is not to be underestimated, however, and should make for some fascinating racing in the far east this weekend!

Guillem Farres got back to winning ways in Türkiye, and now has to be considered as having one hand on the MX2 World Championship trophy as he leads his Triumph Racing Factory teammate Camden McLellan by a daunting 50 points with two rounds to go.  Farres cannot be beaten in a tie-break with any rider on race wins this season, scoring 13 compared to five each for McLellan and Simon Längenfelder, and eight for Sacha Coenen. The Spaniard can clinch the title if he gains ten points on the South African by the end of the second race this Sunday, and although neither rider has stood on the podium in China as of yet, they are both much stronger in 2026.  McLellan was fifth overall here last year, with Farres seventh in his first event in Shanghai.

Sacha Coenen had a great debut in China in 2025, taking the Qualifying Race win as well as the overall victory with a 1-3 on Sunday.  Now 60 points down on Farres after his disastrous Sunday in Türkiye, the teenage Belgian needs to gain points on the Spaniard this weekend in order to keep his Championship chances alive. Defending World Champion Simon Längenfelder has finished third overall at both of his GPs in China so far, but he needs to gain 20 points on Farres to keep his slim title hopes alive into the final round. After such a long run without a Sunday win to his name, he did pick up the first race in Türkiye, and will be out for a first GP win since April as he looks to finish the season strong.

Liam Everts has bad memories of China after picking up a major back injury here in 2024, but he fared well on his return last year with sixth overall.  Currently on a three-round podium streak, the Belgian could be strong this weekend as he aims for his first GP win of the year. Fifth in the standings and 110 points back from the leader, he still has a very faint chance of the title but would need disaster for several riders to get there.

The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 teammates and brothers Janis and Karlis Reisulis are virtually assured of finishing sixth and seventh in the Championship, and Janis has never visited China before, while Karlis has finished tenth and eighth overall in the last two years.  Not big fans of the heat, they will be in for a tough weekend, like everyone else!

Osička Racing KTM privateer Julius Mikula now needs to score another 32 points to overhaul the absent Honda HRC Petronas rider Valerio Lata for eighth in the Championship, having passed Kawasaki Racing Team MX2’s Mathis Valin with seventh overall in Türkiye.  The 20-year-old makes his first appearance in China, while Kay Karssemakers comes here with Dixon Racing Team Kawasaki for the third time, with a target of 35 points in order to pass Valin for a top ten Championship finish.  The Dutchman will be fighting for his first top ten overall in Shanghai.

Will the MX2 World Championship be decided this weekend by the fighting Farres? It’s sure to be a fantastic battle for victory as China hosts the penultimate round of the epic 2026 FIM Motocross World Championships!  Be sure to tune in!

Aston Martin and Brough Superior reveal its first street-legal motorcycle: the spectacular AMB 002 Roadster

Aston Martin and Brough Superior are proud to announce the AMB 002 Roadster: The first road bike produced in the ongoing collaboration between the two iconic and historic British performance brands, it follows the sensational track-only AMB 001 and AMB 001 Pro superbikes introduced in 2019 and 2022.

The AMB 002 Roadster is an all-new machine. One which continues Aston Martin and Brough Superior’s radical exploration of motorcycle design and engineering in the form of a lightweight, razor-sharp machine born for maximum enjoyment on the road.

An expression of the pure, pared back essence of a rider-focussed sports bike, the AMB 002 uses fluid lines, compact proportion and precisely sculpted carbon fibre body elements to create a form packed with drama and dynamic tension. Emphasising its unique forward-biased kinetic style while giving glimpses of the motorcycle’s mechanical beauty, the AMB 002 is an unmistakable product of the Aston Martin and Brough Superior collaboration.

The work of the Aston Martin Design Studio is evident in every curve and detail of the AMB 002. The relationship between form and function are perfectly expressed in the pebble smooth shape of the carbon fibre fuel tank and side fairings, which rise to meet the rider when tucked out of the slipstream. Crescent-shaped gills slice into the flanks to aid engine cooling and streamline the airflow, while wire-design stalks for the low-slung mirrors embody the AMB 002’s lightweight construction.

Details with a more direct four-wheeled influence are also found in abundance. The iconic side-strake has been reimagined, piercing through the side fairing and extending forwards to encapsulate the headlamp. Twin oval exhausts feature ribbed heat sinks which echo the exhaust finisher design of Vanquish, DB12 S and DBX S. A dramatic array of rear light blades are the same type as those seen on the tails of the Aston Martin Vulcan, Valkyrie and Valhalla hypercars, while keyless function, a backlit ignition button and hand-crafted saddle leather seat pads bring touches of luxury and craftsmanship found in Aston Martin’s series production road cars.

Befitting its historic significance as the first motorcycle from the partnership designed for the road, the AMB 002 Roadster is a showcase for truly original, state-of-the-art engineering. The result of a bespoke development process, it has been designed and engineered from scratch, without compromise or carry-over componentry.

At its heart sits an all-new 1083cc four-stroke water-cooled V-Twin developing 130bhp and 110 Nm of torque. Tuned for strong low and mid-range torque with a smooth and thrilling top-end, it gives the AMB 002 a responsive, engaging character with accessible, exhilarating performance. Precisely tailored for maximum enjoyment in a road environment, its mission is to make every ride – and every rider – feel special.

Designed, machined and assembled in-house at Brough Superior’s headquarters in Toulouse, France, the AMB 002’s engine features exquisite CNC-machined from billet engine cases optimized for weight reduction and structural efficiency. This is just one of many areas in which Brough Superior demonstrates a mastery of meticulous aerospace-grade process and materials.

The new V-Twin sits within an extraordinary titanium frame. Milled from a solid billet it forms a structural spine; a striking feature of Brough Superior’s unique backbone architecture. Weighing just 5kg – a fraction of the weight of a conventional design – the AMB 002’s frame is key to achieving a perfect 50:50 weight distribution.

With an exceptionally low centre of gravity – achieved with the help of carbon fibre body panels and fuel tank – the AMB 002’s centralized mass creates an immediate sense of balance and agility. Combined with its lightweight build – just 190kg – and abundance of low and mid-range torque, the AMB 002 combines muscle performance with nimble athleticism.

Another unique Brough Superior solution refined and applied to the AMB 002 is the distinctive double-wishbone ‘Fior fork’ front suspension. Avoiding the compromises of conventional telescopic forks, the Fior design separates steering and braking forces while maintaining precise control of the front-end geometry.

An evolution of the system developed for the AMB 001 Pro, the AMB 002 delivers outstanding steering precision and agility while also giving the rider confidence-inspiring stability through high-speed corners. And, thanks to the Fior system’s anti-dive characteristics also give it exceptional stability under braking, especially when braking while leaned over into a corner.

BMW Motorrad Motorsport welcomes Brad Binder as a new WorldSBK factory rider from 2027.

Brad Binder (RSA) will join the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team as teammate to Miguel Oliveira (POR) in 2027. After six years in MotoGP, the South African is taking on a new challenge and will make his debut in the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) next season. Oliveira and Binder know each other extremely well as they were teammates for many years in Grand Prix racing, in the Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP World Championships.

The 30-year-old South African Binder began his international career in the Moto3 class in 2012. In 2016, he was crowned Moto3 World Champion before successfully moving up to the Moto2 World Championship. He stepped up to MotoGP for the 2020 season, where he has since claimed two victories and a further nine podium finishes. He is now embarking on a new chapter in his career, becoming a BMW Motorrad Motorsport factory rider in WorldSBK from the 2027 season onwards.

Danilo Petrucci’s (ITA) time in BMW Motorrad Motorsport’s WorldSBK project will come to an end after the 2026 season. Options for continuing the collaboration in other projects are currently being explored.

MXGP: Infront Moto Racing is delighted to share the provisional entry list for the 2026 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations! Take a look at the official list featuring 33 nations that will be represented at the circuit Raymond Demy in Ernée, France, on 2-3-4 October.

Host nation Team France will look to add to their record at the scene of their 2023 triumph, whenRomain Febvre, Maxime Renaux and Tom Vialle won the Trophée Chamberlain in front of a record 102,000-strong crowd. This year Team France’s Febvre leads the MXGP class, with Mathis Valin in MX2 and Vialle completing the trio in OPEN, under team manager Gautier Paulin.

Team USA arrive with Cooper Webb, Chance Hymas and Levi Kitchen, looking to add another chapter to their history as the most decorated nation in the event, while Team Australia’s line-up is headed by Jed Beaton alongside Alex Larwood and Aaron Tanti. On the other side, Team Australia will try to defend their title with a different team than they had last year. This year, the Australians will race with Jed Beaton, Alex Larwood  and Aaron Tanti.

From Europe, one of the team to beat will be Team Spain going there as some of the strong favourites. Jorge Prado, a four-time world champion, spearheads the MXGP effort, while Guillem Farres joins in MX2 chasing what could be his first world title of the year and Ruben Fernandez, a squad with genuine depth at both ends.

Team Netherlands arrive with the sport’s biggest storyline. Jeffrey Herlings sealed his sixth world title, and third in MXGP, at the MXGP of Türkiye on his debut season with Honda HRC. Kay de Wolf’s continued absence through injury leaves the Dutch MXGP seat still to be filled, but with Herlings on the gate and Roan van de Moosdijk, the Netherlands remain a team nobody will discount.

Team Belgium could be the story of the weekend if Lucas Coenen returns to his best form. Alongside twin brother Sacha and Liam Everts, it’s a squad built on talent and youth while Italy, sixth at the last edition, bring Andrea Adamo into his MXGP rookie season in good form, with Andrea Bonacorsi and Ferruccio Zanchi adding some great skills to the team.

Team Slovenia will be looking to repeat or improve on last year’s fifth-place finish, a squad anchored by five-time World Champion Tim Gajser, Jan Pancar and Jan Peklaj.

Among the outsiders, Team Latvia stand out. The Reisulis brothers have gotten into their rhythm this season, battling at the top in MX2 and pairing them with former world champion Pauls Jonass gives the team a shot at upsetting the established order. There will also be usual candidates to play the troublemakers with Team Switzerland and Jeremy Seewer, Team Sweden with Isak Gifting and Team Germany.

Beyond the European and North American contenders, the entry list underlines how global the Motocross of Nations has become. Brazil’s Fabio Santos and Enzo Lopes, South Africa lead by the talented Camden Mc Lellan, Japan’s Kainosuke Oshiro, Haruki Yokoyama and Yuki Okura, alongside squads from, Morocco, Mexico, Chile and Iceland, will all be racing for their flags at Ernée.

Several slots remain open ahead of the event, including the Netherlands’ third rider and Brazil’s MX2 entry, with the final list to be confirmed closer to race day.

Zero Motorcycles UK has announced a significant increase in UK registrations during the first eight months of the year, as it continues to carry strong momentum into the second half of 2026.

Zero recorded a year-on-year registration increase of 330% to 142 in the period of January to August 2026.

The standout contributor to the increase has been the arrival of the LS1. Designed to provide accessible and practical urban transport, the LS1 has broadened Zero’s range and introduced the brand to new riders and fleet customers. In August, the Zero LS1 became the UK’s best-selling electric motorcycle in the <11 kW category.

Zero’s performance is particularly notable against the wider UK electric two-wheeler market, where registrations declined by 10.3% year-on-year during the first eight months of 2026.*

Dale Robinson, Country Manager of Zero Motorcycles, said: “To see our registrations more than quadruple in a year, with the LS1 becoming the UK’s best-selling electric motorcycle in its category during August is a fantastic result for Zero.

Only 24 points separate championship leader Jorge Martín, Marc Márquez and Marco Bezzecchi. Martín holds a 19-point advantage over Márquez, with Bezzecchi five points further back. A maximum of 37 points is available across Saturday’s Sprint and Sunday’s Grand Prix, so the championship order could change significantly at Misano.

Márquez arrives with the strongest immediate form after collecting all 37 points in Aragón. His Sprint victory and Grand Prix win moved him into second place, reducing a deficit that had threatened to leave Martín in firm control of the standings.

The close title fight will also influence the digital discussion around the event. Fans using fantasy competitions, prediction games or an online casino may be tempted to rely on recent results, but Misano’s layout, tyre demands and changing track conditions can produce a different order from the previous round.

Can Marc Márquez take the championship lead at Misano?

Márquez can leave Misano at the top of the standings if he outscores Martín by at least 20 points. That is a demanding target, but the Ducati rider has an exceptional record at the circuit.

He has won six MotoGP races at Misano, including victories during each of the past two seasons. His ability to maintain speed under braking and change direction quickly suits a track containing several technical corner sequences.

The Aragón weekend also showed that Márquez can convert qualifying pace into points across both races. He controlled the Sprint before producing another composed performance on Sunday. Repeating that result would place considerable pressure on Martín, even if it did not immediately secure the championship lead.

Márquez must still avoid treating the weekend as an opportunity that has to be forced. A crash could return much of the momentum to Martín. With several rounds remaining after Misano, consistent scoring may prove more valuable than an unnecessary late attack for a few additional points.

How can Jorge Martín protect his advantage?

Martín finished fifth in both Aragón races after struggling to match the leaders. Those results limited the damage without providing the pace expected of a championship leader.

Misano offers a more encouraging reference. Martín won the Sprint and Grand Prix at the circuit in 2023, demonstrating that he can manage its combination of hard braking, rapid changes of direction and long periods spent at lean angle.

Aprilia will need to give him a motorcycle that remains stable as grip develops during the weekend. Misano’s surface can change quickly once MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 sessions begin placing rubber on the racing line. A competitive Friday set-up may therefore require further adjustment before Sunday.

Martín does not need to beat Márquez in every session. Keeping his rival within reach and avoiding a low-scoring race would preserve his position before the championship moves to Austria. The calculation changes if Márquez qualifies on the front row and establishes a clear pace advantage during the Sprint.

Why is Marco Bezzecchi a major threat at his home round?

Bezzecchi begins the weekend only 24 points behind Martín, giving Aprilia two riders with a realistic chance of leading the championship. His presence also prevents the contest becoming a simple duel between Martín and Márquez.

The Italian has been recovering his full fitness, yet he still reduced his deficit to Martín in Aragón. Racing at Misano should provide additional motivation, as the circuit lies close to the area where several Italian riders train and has strong links with the VR46 Riders Academy.

Bezzecchi also pushed Márquez hard at the 2025 San Marino Grand Prix. A repeat of that contest could place him directly between the two riders ahead of him in the standings, allowing him to recover a substantial number of points.

Aprilia may face a delicate situation if both of its riders challenge for victory. Martín needs to defend the championship lead, while Bezzecchi cannot afford to surrender opportunities if he wants to remain a genuine title contender. Team strategy may become relevant late in the season, but a 24-point gap is too small to treat either rider as a supporting option.

Which Italian riders need a result at Misano?

Francesco Bagnaia reaches his home event after three Sunday retirements in four Grands Prix. His recent results have removed him from the immediate title discussion and increased the importance of a clean Misano weekend.

Bagnaia has previously performed well at the circuit and should understand where the Ducati gains time. The larger concern is rebuilding consistency. Strong qualifying followed by another failure to finish would offer little evidence that his recent difficulties have been resolved.

Fabio Di Giannantonio also needs to respond after losing ground in Aragón. He sits 48 points behind Martín, which keeps him within mathematical reach but leaves little room for further weak results.

Franco Morbidelli will try to return to the top 10, while Enea Bastianini arrives at a circuit where he won in 2024 and claimed his first MotoGP podium in 2021. Their experience gives the home crowd several possible challengers, even if the championship attention remains fixed on the leading three.

Could Pedro Acosta disrupt the title contest?

Pedro Acosta may not be close enough to control the championship, but his performance in Aragón suggests he can influence it. The KTM rider fought near the front for much of the Grand Prix and again demonstrated that he can challenge Ducati and Aprilia when the motorcycle gives him enough braking confidence.

A podium at Misano would remove points that Martín, Márquez and Bezzecchi expect to collect. That could protect the leader’s advantage or tighten the contest further, depending on where Acosta finishes.

Honda and Yamaha will also search for progress. Johann Zarco returned in Aragón after missing six rounds and immediately scored points in both races. Yamaha showed improved top-10 pace, although Fabio Quartararo has not scored in a Sunday race since the German Grand Prix.

What will decide the San Marino Grand Prix?

Qualifying should carry considerable weight because overtaking becomes difficult when riders settle into similar race pace. Starting near the front also reduces the risk of contact during the crowded opening corners.

Tyre management will become more important during Sunday’s longer race. Riders must generate enough early grip without overheating the rear tyre, particularly if conditions remain warm. The Sprint permits a more aggressive approach, but it can still reveal which motorcycles maintain their performance over repeated laps.

Misano arrives at the right moment for the championship. Martín has a lead to defend, Márquez has gained momentum and Bezzecchi is preparing for a home race with the top position still within reach. By Sunday evening, the three-rider contest could be closer than at any previous stage of the season.

Nicolò Bulega and the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team will part ways at the end of the 2026 season.

Aruba.it Racing – Ducati announces that its collaboration with Nicolò Bulega will come to an end at the conclusion of the 2026 FIM Superbike World Championship season.

The team would like to thank Nicolò for the extraordinary journey built together over these five years. From his arrival in Supersport in 2022 to winning the World Championship title the following season, and then moving up to WorldSBK in 2024, Bulega embraced a challenge with determination and dedication.

It has been a journey defined by hard work, professionalism and a strong bond with the whole team, born from daily commitment and strengthened race after race. Over the last two seasons, the Italian rider finished second in the Superbike World Championship, confirming himself as one of the absolute protagonists of the category. MotoAmerica: SDK Leads Quad Lock Superbike Championship Into Penultimate Round At Circuit Of The Americas, Andrew Lee Aims To Lockdown 2026 Superbike Cup Title One Round Early.

Round eight of the 2026 MotoAmerica Quad Lock Superbike Championship is coming to Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, September 11-13, and the battle for the title remains wide open. Four riders are separated by just 38 points, and a total of 125 points remain up for grabs. With the last two rounds in sight, time is running out to close the gap to the leaders and riders will feel the pressure in the Texas heat.

COTA stands as one of the most physically and technically demanding venues on the entire MotoAmerica calendar. The 3.41-mile, 20-turn counterclockwise circuit tests premier Superbike racers and machinery with fast esses, heavy braking zones, and a signature 130-foot elevation climb to Turn 1. While the long back straight provides critical drafting and passing opportunities into Turn 12, the Texas heat forecasted over the weekend will push competitors to their absolute limits, placing a maximum premium on a riders mental and physical endurance.

OrangeCat Racing’s Sean Dylan Kelly leads the premier class into Austin, Texas, piloting his high-performance BMW M 1000 RR with an even 250 points. The 24-year-old Floridian has captured 12 podium finishes in 15 races, translating to a staggering 80% podium to this point in the season.

Strack Racing’s Mathew Scholtz is just 17 points behind the leader, Kelly. The South African’s Yamaha YZF-R1 is notoriously solid in the technical sections of the Austin circuit but lacks the outright power and top end speed of the European machines for the 0.6 mile COTA backstretch. The South African will need to lean on his notorious corner speed and maximize edge grip in the technical sections to keep touch with the the draft down the endless back straight.

Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing teammates JD Beach and Bobby Fong sit third and fourth in the standings, respectively, with Beach trailing championship leader Sean Dylan Kelly by 31 points and Fong just 38 marks adrift. The duo remains within striking distance of the front and brings a strong track record to the Lone Star State. While Fong secured double-podium success aboard his Yamaha Superbike last year, Beach swept both races in the Stock 1000 class. Both riders have the outright pace to contend for victories and will be fighting for a return to the box in Texas.

Wrench Motorcycles’ Cameron Petersen sits 105 points behind the leader in fifth. The 31-year-old South African knows he will need to put it all on the line to keep himself alive in the championship chase.

M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Richie Escalante is sixth with 106 points, however the Mexican-native will miss the remainder of the season to heal from injuries sustained in a crash at the previous round. In his place, and making his Quad Lock Superbike class debut will be the team’s 20-year-old Supersport class rider, Tyler Scott. Scott will focus solely on the Superbike class this weekend as the team has another rider lined up for their Supersport machine in Texas.

The top 10 is finished off by Rahal Ducati Moto with XPEL’s PJ Jacobsen in eighth, Escalante’s teammate Brandon Paasch ninth and Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law’s Loris Baz in tenth.

Beaubier’s Return

While the championship fight takes center stage, COTA will also mark the return of a very familiar name to the Quad Lock Superbike grid. Six-time and defending Superbike champion Cameron Beaubier returns to the Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law team after missing five rounds due to a shoulder injury suffered at Road America. The move pushes Frenchman Loris Baz out of his fill-in duties after his recent win in Race 3 at VIRginia International Raceway. Beaubier aims to quickly regain his race pace; given his history of running up front at the Texas circuit, he could easily play the role of spoiler in the lead group.

Superbike Cup

The chase for the separate Superbike Cup trophy is also taking center stage at COTA, where class leader Andrew Lee is on the verge of sealing the deal. Flying the flag for Real Steel Honda with 330 points, Lee sits on a commanding 102-point lead over BPR Racing Yamaha’s Deion campbell in second and 124 over third place competitor Carl Soltisz. With only a handful of races remaining, the 27-year-old just needs a lead of more than 100 points after Saturday’s Race 1 to wrangle the 2026 Superbike Cup crown in Texas.

Aftercare Scheibe Racing Adds Ulsterman Simon Reid For COTA.

Adding to the depth of the field, Aftercare Scheibe Racing is bringing Banbridge, Northern Ireland’s Simon Reid across the Atlantic to make his MotoAmerica Superbike Cup debut. Reid currently competes in the highly competitive Pirelli National Superstock Championship in the UK for Carl Cox BMW by MLav Racing. The talented rider is eager to make the trip to the US to see exactly how his pace stacks up against the MotoAmerica field.

The destiny of the 20th Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup will be decided in the next two weekends. Back-to-back, 2 races at Misano and 2 at Spielberg.

The incredibly intense 10 days of KTM action start with Practice and Qualifying this Friday in Italy. Beñat Fernandez heads the points table as he has done since winning the first race of the season in Jerez back in April. The 18-year-old Spaniard has not had things his own way since then at all.
He has won 3 times in all and finished on the podium for another 3 races. But the 2 falls and no points from the Sachsenring were desperately expensive.

Tough at the top
By taking his second win of the season in Germany, Kiandra Ramadhipa propelled himself back into the reckoning, jumping from 6th to 3rd in the points table.

Ryota Ogiwara closed his points gap to Fernandez dramatically by winning Race 1 in Germany, but the Japanese also fell in Race 2 otherwise, he could have taken the points lead. He turns 18 this week and is just 17 points behind Fernandez. Ramadhipa is 47 off the lead, but there are still 100 points on offer.

Even Fernando Bujosa, the 17-year-old Spaniard in 4th, 51 points adrift of Fernandez, could take the Cup if the season concludes in a dramatic fashion.

Moving on up
David González is another point behind, but the Spanish 18-year-old has already been snapped up by the Intact Grand Prix Team for a full-time World Championship ride for the remainder of 2026. He already scored points on his debut with 14th in Silverstone.

Heading to the Adriatic, ex-Rookies lead all 3 World Championships. Misano starts early on Sunday with the 250th Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup race before those World Championship battles progress.
The 15-lap Red Bull Rookies Cup Race 1 is scheduled for 16.10 on Saturday, with Race 2 at 8.45 on Sunday. To clinch the title before the final weekend in Austria will require a 50-point lead. Fernandez is the only one who could achieve that, but it seems more likely that the battle will go all the way to the final races at the Red Bull Ring.

Yamaha Motor Europe is pleased to announce that Jack Miller will join the official Yamaha team in the FIM Superbike World Championship for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

The 31-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Yamaha’s WorldSBK project having spent 15 years racing in Grand Prix, including an impressive 12 years in the premier class. Miller achieved four MotoGP wins and 23 podium finishes in his time in MotoGP, with a best overall championship result of fourth in 2021.

The Australian has spent his final two seasons in the MotoGP class with the Prima Pramac Yamaha team, where his professionalism and experience has proved invaluable as Yamaha set about developing its brand new V4 MotoGP machine.

Miller is no stranger to the R1 production-based machine he will race in WorldSBK, having twice competed for the Yamaha Factory Racing team in the Suzuka 8 Hour, alongside Andrea Locatelli, who he joins in Yamaha’s official WorldSBK effort next season. The duo, together with veteran Katsuyuki Nakasuga, finished second in the past two editions of the prestigious endurance race.

Bringing rider and machine together, Husqvarna Enduro Demo Days offers first-hand access to the complete 2027 Husqvarna Enduro range in some of the UK’s most rewarding offroad riding environments

Husqvarna is launching Husqvarna Enduro Demo Days, a new nationwide test ride initiative that gives riders the opportunity to experience the complete 2027 Husqvarna Enduro range at three of the UK’s leading offroad venues.

Created to connect riders with Husqvarna’s latest generation of enduro machines in the terrain they were designed for, Husqvarna Enduro Demo Days offers free test rides on the latest Husqvarna Enduro models. Rides will be led by Lee Edmondson, Manager of official Husqvarna enduro experience partner OnlyStans Off-Road Experience and former mechanic to Husqvarna Factory Racing’s six-time FIM SuperEnduro World Champion Billy Bolt.

Husqvarna Enduro Demo Days will visit the following venues and events:

• Sunday 27th September | Action Trax, Exedown Track, Sevenoaks.

Riders will have the opportunity to explore the latest generation of Husqvarna 2-stroke and 4-stroke models, compare their unique characteristics and discover the motorcycle that best suits their individual riding style and aspirations.

Designed for riders with off-road experience, Husqvarna Enduro Demo Days is ideal for seasoned enduro enthusiasts and trail riders interested in discovering their next ride. Participants will be able to spend quality saddle time aboard the latest Husqvarna machinery in a natural riding environment.

With a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere, the initiative allows riders to experience the capability, precision and control that define Husqvarna’s Enduro range. Whether navigating technical terrain, exploring new trails or simply seeking more enjoyment from every ride, participants can discover the model that best supports their next adventure.

To take part, riders must first book entry with the relevant event organiser via the Enduro Demo Days website. Once at the venue on their own motorcycle, free test rides can be booked with the Husqvarna team on-site. Test rides will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.

Bold new colour options elevate the Honda CB750 Hornet for 2027, with eye catching combinations amplifying the bold street fighter style.

Model updates: Honda’s hard-stinging twin-cylinder Hornet gained a major upgrade for 26YM – the option of Honda E-Clutch which offered real performance gains in all riding conditions from urban to mountain roads. Carrying zero excess mass, class-leading power-to-weight ratio is delivered by a 67.5kW and 75Nm engine driving a 192kg package (Honda E-Clutch – 196kg). The eight-valve parallel twin-cylinder unit delivers both top end buzz and strong mid-range usability, combining with an ultra-lightweight frame for supremely agile side-to-side performance and instant, riotous acceleration. Throttle By Wire (TBW) unlocks five riding modes allowing tailoring of the three-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with integrated Wheelie Control, and three levels of Engine Braking and Power delivery. Full Showa suspension comprises 41mm Separate Fork Function Big Piston (SFF-BPTM) USD forks and rear shock working through Pro-Link. Dual, radial-mount four-piston calipers bite hard. The five-inch TFT screen features Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity, the indicators auto-cancel and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) technology is included. An A2 licence option is also available. Bold new colour combinations elevate the bike even further for 27YM.

1. Introduction

The original 1998 CB600F Hornet grew to be a hugely popular bike in Europe, for many reasons. Its compact, naked form was great around town, and it had the engine power and handling ability to carve a section of corners with joyous enthusiasm. Different iterations of the Hornet took it in the direction of sports touring and – in the hands of Hornet Cup racers – an outright race bike, while a 2007 upgrade added extra RR-derived top-end power and much more aggressive style.

Every individual owner had a reason why their Hornet was so good, but two things remained constant throughout its life and development: It was great fun to ride. And the fun came with an affordable price tag.

23YM was the perfect moment for a new Hornet to land – a bike for the time and a whole new generation of riders. It had big tyre tracks to fill and serious competitors to contend with. None of which was lost on Honda’s development engineers. This background drove the creation of something quite special – the CB750 Hornet, a bike which took inspiration and direction from its ancestor but brought the celebrated Hornet brand right back to the cutting edge. And packed it with a direct injection of excitement and pure-thrill adrenaline.

With minimalist streetfighter styling led by the latest generation of creative minds in Honda’s Rome R&D facility, it was developed to attract younger riders looking for a serious move up. In a nutshell, Honda armed the CB750 Hornet with a class-leading power-to-weight ratio. 25YM saw Hornet trademark taut styling amplified through a sharp dual projector headlight, plus revised suspension settings and new five-inch TFT screen.

For 26YM it gained a major advantage – the introduction of Honda’s E-Clutch Technology as an option – a technological evolution of the manual transmission that takes riding to the next level.

27YM sees a revised colour line-up with all-new options and combinations to keep the Hornet at the head of the pack. To keep things simple, three words can be used to sum up the CB750 Hornet: Fast, agile, fun.

2. Model Overview

The Hornet’s engine packs a great deal of Honda’s engineering prowess into a small space. Headline numbers: 755cc parallel twin-cylinder, 67.5kW peak power and 75Nm torque. With wet weight of 192kg (E-Clutch – 196kg) it has a class-leading power-to-weight ratio of 0.35kW per kg / 2.84kg per kW.

Compact, competition CRF-derived Unicam eight-valve cylinder heads employ downdraft air intakes and a Vortex Flow Duct to ensure optimal combustion. A 270° crank delivers feel and character; the primary drive doubles as balance shaft while an assist/slipper clutch manages a six-speed gearbox. Electronic rider aids thanks to Throttle By Wire (TBW) include three riding modes (plus USER mode), three-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Wheelie Control with three-level Engine Power and Engine Braking adjustment.

To maximise the engine’s potential, it’s housed in a steel diamond frame, which is extremely light weight thanks to optimisation of wall/pipe thickness and stiffness. For optimal agility and rider feedback, suspension is top quality: Showa 41mm SFF-BPTM USD forks and rear shock operating through Pro-Link. Dual four-piston, radial-mount calipers stop hard while the tyres are sized to provide perfect levels of grip and agility – a 120-section front matched to 160 rear.

26YM saw the introduction of Honda E-Clutch as an option, which works with the sophistication of TBW provides some key advantages for the CB750 Hornet. Starting and stopping in the city is so much easier, and less tiring, by not having to use the clutch lever. More importantly, the system provides next level riding enjoyment, working much more quickly and smoothly than a quickshifter, up and down the gearbox. Honda E-Clutch CB750 models also benefit from the addition of a stylish, svelte undercowl that seamlessly blends in to the Hornet’s signature aggressive, purposeful styling.

The CB750 Hornet’s minimalism is led by a low-set, centrally mounted dual LED projector headlight, tautly wrapped and oozing streetfighter style. The CB750 Hornet owns a style that is distinct from its larger and smaller siblings, carving out an identity all its own. A five-inch TFT colour display supplies vivid information delivery and management of all systems, as well as the connectivity of Honda RoadSync system for both Android and IOS devices. It’s operated, easily, by a four-way toggle switch on the left handlebar.

26YM saw the range of Genuine Honda Accessories updated too, with new soft luggage, engine protectors and cosmetic enhancements added to the line-up. Also new for 26YM were updated honeycomb pattern knee grip Tank Pads, full-body graphic stickers, and the Under Cowl for non Honda  E-Clutch models.

The 27YM CB750 Hornet and CB750 Hornet E-Clutch will be available in the following bold colour combinations:

3. Key Features
    3.1 Engine

• 755cc parallel twin 8 valve unicam engine

The parallel twin-cylinder powerplant packs a hugely enjoyable punch to give the Hornet its performance edge and is unchanged for 27YM. It’s designed for every rider to exploit to the maximum, with exhilarating peak power output, but also to deliver accessible low to mid-range usability – perfect for the less experienced, and a major boost to the enjoyment of everyday town riding.

755cc, with an 8-valve Unicam cylinder head it pumps out 67.5kW @ 9,500rpm with 75Nm torque @ 7,250rpm. Bore and stroke is set at 87 x 63.5mm with compression ratio of 11.0:1. Compact and lightweight (and a configuration used by the MX competition-ready CRF450R) the Unicam head operates the 35.5mm inlet valves via cam, and the 29mm exhaust by rocker arms. Inlet lift is 9.3mm, exhaust 8.2mm.

For razor-sharp pick-up and throttle response patented Vortex Flow Ducts create a more uniform distribution from the side scoops into the airbox, which then feeds downdraft intakes and 46mm diameter throttle bodies. The 270° crank and uneven firing order create a characterful, twin-cylinder pulse feeling. To make the engine as compact as possible there’s no balancer drive gear; the primary drive gear doubles up duties and spins the balance shaft. The water pump is tucked away inside the lefthand engine cover and there’s no need for a water-cooled oil-cooler. The cylinders also use a Ni-SiC (Nickel-Silicon Carbide) coating, as also used in the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and CRF450R.

An assist/slipper clutch – with oblique layout disc segments – offers light lever feel, eases up shifts and manages rear wheel hop under hard braking and rapid down changes.

Fuel consumption of 23km/l (WMTC mode) offers a potential range of over 340km from the 15.2L fuel tank. A 35kW, A2 licence option is also available.

3.2 Engine Electronics

• Three default rider modes – RAIN, STANDARD and SPORT 
• Three levels of Engine Power, Engine Brake and HSTC with integrated Wheelie Control
• USER1 & USER2 customisation option between the three levels

Throttle By Wire engine control offers three default riding modes, adjusting the engine’s delivery and feel to suit conditions and the rider’s intent; they’re easily switched and managed between the left handlebar mode switch and TFT screen.

There are three levels of Engine Power (EP), Engine Brake (EB) and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with integrated Wheelie Control available; HSTC can also be switched off. The riding modes offer different combinations of each parameter.

• SPORT uses level three EP and level one EB and HSTC to deliver maximum performance with minimum intervention.
• STANDARD mode is a mid-way setting that uses level two setting for EP, EB and HSTC.
• RAIN mode employs the lowest EP setting, level one, for the least aggressive power delivery with level two EB and three HSTC.
• USER1/ USER2 modes allow the rider to choose between the three settings for each parameter and save the setting for future use.

3.3 Styling & Equipment

The main signature of the Hornet is the fuel tank, which takes inspiration from the shape of a hornet’s wing. Everywhere you look, from the aggressively angled nose-fairing to the razor-sharp, minimal tail, there are hallmarks of tension and aggression, outlining true sporting intent. Up front the headlight unit – comprising dual high/low unified projector lenses – is unique within the Hornet family. With a look of its own within the Hornet family, the LED unit is both compact and powerful. The cockpit cowl amplifies the Hornet’s aggressive streetfighter styling while conveying its engaging, sporty ride.

For 26YM, the CB750 Hornet with Honda E-Clutch gained an all-new undercowl that tied together the naked style of the bike, seamlessly integrating with the aggressive styling of the tank and frontal mask without interrupting airflow, and ultimately, the bike’s balance and poise. The svelte part is also available as an optional extra on the standard model.

Usability, for all riders, is also inherent to the design. Seat height is a very manageable 795mm and the riding position upright, with slightly rear set footpegs for natural control and wide handlebars for leverage.

The five-inch full colour TFT screen uses optical bonding to improve visibility in bright sunlight. By sealing the gap between the cover glass and TFT screen with resin, glare is reduced, and backlight transmittance improved. The IOS/Android smartphone connectivity of Honda RoadSync – alongside a simple, easy-to-use, backlit four-way toggle-switch on the left handlebar – allows straightforward, on-screen turn-by-turn navigation as well as the option (via a Bluetooth helmet headset) for the rider to make calls or listen to music. All an owner has to do is download the Honda RoadSync app from either the Play Store or the App Store, connect to the CB750 Hornet, and go.

To simplify and miniaturise the entire electrical system the Hornet uses a Controller Area Network (CAN) alongside a Body Control Unit (BCU). The rear indicators have an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) function.

Both front and rear indicators also auto-cancel; rather than using a simple timer, the system compares front and rear wheel speed difference and calculates when to cancel the indication relative to the situation.

3.4 Chassis

• Lightweight 16.6kg steel diamond frame with integrated subframe
• Showa 41mm SFF-BP USD forks and Pro-link seven-stage adjustable rear shock
• Four-piston front calipers/296mm wave discs; single piston caliper/240mm rear disc

The Hornet’s steel diamond frame is lightweight, at just 16.6kg (for comparison, the CB650R’s is 18.5kg). A major technological process of stiffener, main/down tube thinning, and pivot shape optimisation has produced a hugely strong platform, with rigidity balance to deliver feel and geometry set for agility – just what the engine needs.

Rake and trail are set at 25° and 99mm, with wheelbase of 1,420mm and kerb weight of 192kg (Honda E-Clutch – 196kg).

With a view to heighten sports handling performance (especially braking from higher speeds) Showa 41mm Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BPTM) USD forks are clamped by Hornet-specific top and bottom yokes. With 130mm travel and by dividing the functions – Big Piston pressure separation damper in one leg, spring mechanism in the other – maximising both reaction over changes in road surface and the overall ride quality.

The rear shock absorber operates through the steel swingarm via Pro-Link and offers 150mm travel. Its design ensures excellent response and temperature management; it features seven-stage preload adjustment to match the forks. Damping settings are optimised front and rear to maximise the front wheel’s contact patch for a more dynamic, sports riding experience.

Dual front 296mm discs and Nissin radial-mount, four-piston calipers deliver impressive, fingertip stopping power, with excellent progressive feel through the lever. To further elevate handling and ride quality lightweight wheels use Y-shaped spokes. The 3.5inch width front wheel wears a 120/70-ZR17 tyre, the rear 4.5inch a 160/60-ZR17 tyre.

4. Honda E-Clutch

• Advanced Honda technology that brings ‘next level’ sporty riding performance
• Allows the rider to start, stop and change gear without using the clutch lever – just the gear shift pedal
• First version with Throttle-by-Wire makes its debut on the 750cc pairing of Hornet and Transalp introducing even more rider benefits
• TBW control offers extremely smooth downshifting with auto blip function for an even sportier ride
• Throttle butterfly opening also linked to riding mode selection
• Available as an option from new
• Honda E-Clutch also allows normal operation of the clutch lever 

The Honda E-Clutch system – which debuted on the 24YM CB650R and CBR650R – brings ‘next level’ riding enjoyment and performance, allowing consistent gear changes that are faster and smoother than a quickshifter.

As well as performance, it offers simplicity of operation. The clutch lever is not needed when pulling away or coming to a stop and there’s no need to use the lever to make a shift either up or down the gearbox. The rider simply operates the shift pedal to change gear.

A half clutch position smooths the up/ down shift, and the engine’s ignition timing and fuel injection are also controlled, based on parameters such as vehicle speed, throttle opening angle, engine rpm, pressure on the shift pedal, clutch motor reduction gear angle, engine countershaft speed and gear position. The clutch operation itself is performed through an actuator unit with two motors situated inside the right-hand engine cover.

And, with the CB750 Hornet’s Throttle By Wire (TBW) control, Honda E-Clutch offers an even greater advantage, especially on downshifts. When the half-clutch position is activated TBW blips the throttle, matching engine revs to rear wheel speed for even smoother shifting.

Honda E-Clutch also adjusts the throttle butterfly opening range depending on riding mode selection. For instance, RAIN mode is suitable for extreme weather conditions, SPORT heightens the experience, for maximum enjoyment and riding pleasure. The system also detects rear wheel ‘hop’ under rapid downshifting and braking and employs half-clutch to stabilise the situation.

The rider can also select an ‘operation feel’ to set the strength of the force required on the shift pedal to make a gear change. Three settings are available: HARD, MEDIUM, and SOFT, each of which can be chosen independently for upshifting and downshifting. The system will also advise the rider to shift down – via a symbol on the instrument panel – if it detects the motorcycle is in a high gear at a certain speed.

And the system is the ultimate in versatility, as the clutch lever can be used as normal at any time. After use, the Honda E-Clutch system will re-activate after less than a second above a certain engine rpm, and after five seconds at lower engine speeds. Should the rider wish to turn off the system for a particular ride, this is also possible via the switchgear on the left handlebar, once the vehicle is stationary and in neutral. The change to manual operation is indicated by a letter ‘M’ on the instrument panel.

For extra legroom on the CB750 Hornet, the mounting structure of the Honda E-Clutch has been adjusted by dividing the clutch lifter shaft in two and adding a gear train, offsetting it 40mm away from the foot. Also, the anti-vibration rubber and stays of the standard clutch cover design were found to be unnecessary in testing, following optimization of the engine cover design, ultimately saving 300g.

5. Accessories

A full range of Genuine Honda Accessories are available for the Hornet, ready for personalisation to an owner’s preference and use.

Overhauled for 26YM, the range gained new colour-matching Under Cowl for non E-Clutch variant, and decorative stickers with Kanji inspired graphics.

To make it easy for an owner there are four packs that group the accessories neatly together:

This pack adds a unique touch to the CB750 Hornet while enhancing its aesthetics. Fresh off the back of being centre stage at the 2026 Hondacustoms.com competition, Honda’s popular naked the CB750 Hornet receives an all-new colour line-up for 27YM.

Since its introduction in 2023, the CB750 Hornet has struck the sweet spot with European customers who have ensured it remains one of the most popular bikes in Honda’s comprehensive line-up. With over 10,000 units sold in 2025 alone, it remains one of Honda’s best-selling full-sized motorcycles, and one of the top three best-selling Nakeds in Europe for the past two years.

That winning formula remains mechanically unchanged for 27YM, with the Hornet built around the same torquey, hard-hitting 755cc parallel twin-cylinder powerplant paired with either a manual gearbox or Honda’s acclaimed E-clutch technology, which was made available as an option for 2026 year model.

One of Honda’s innovative DreamTech technologies, Honda E-Clutch allows riders to change gear simply by using the shift pedal, without the need to use the clutch lever, making starting, stopping and changing gear easier and less tiring, while retaining the feeling of mechanical involvement in the ride.

More importantly, the system is fast and fun, providing next level riding enjoyment, as it enables quicker and smoother gear changes than a quickshifter. The fact that the CB750 Hornet – like the XL750 Transalp – uses Honda E-Clutch in conjunction with Throttle By Wire (TBW) allows even smoother bike behaviour on downshifts thanks to blipping of the throttle to match rev’s for the slickest of gear changes.

The CB750 Hornet’s minimalism is led by the low-set, centrally mounted dual LED projector headlight, behind which sits a five-inch full colour TFT monitor. The sharp front fairing and stylised tank work in unison with the crisply defined tail to give the CB750 Hornet a style that is distinct from its larger and smaller siblings, and very much an identity all of its own.

Reinforcing its commitment to the discipline, KTM brings the complete 2027 Enduro Range closer to riders at three of the UK’S premier pay-and-play off-road venues.

KTM is launching the ORANGE ENDURO TAKEOVER, a new nationwide test ride campaign that gives riders the opportunity to experience the complete 2027 KTM Enduro range at three of the UK’s leading pay-and-play offroad venues.

Designed to bring KTM’s latest enduro machinery directly to riders where it belongs, the ORANGE ENDURO TAKEOVER allows participants to book a free test ride on the latest KTM Enduro models, led by official RIDE KTM experience partner and former British Enduro Champion Alex Snow, of the Alex Snow Off-Road KTM Enduro Experience.

The ORANGE ENDURO TAKEOVER will visit the following venues and events:

• Sunday 27^th September | Action Trax, Exedown Track, Sevenoaks.
  Bookings open now.
• Saturday 24^th October | Marsh Powersports Enduro Demo Day at Glynduro Land, Llandovery.
  Bookings open now.
• Saturday 14^th November | Fast Eddy Racing, Shrewsbury.
  Bookings open from 1st October.

From the lightweight KTM 125 XC-W to the powerhouse KTM 500 EXC-F, the entire 2027 KTM Enduro range will be available to test ride across all three events. Riders will have the opportunity to sample KTM’s latest generation of 2-stroke and 4-stroke machinery and discover the model best suited to their riding style, experience and ambitions.

The ORANGE ENDURO TAKEOVER is aimed at a broad spectrum of riders, from experienced racers searching for their next special test weapon to recreational trail riders eager to experience KTM’s latest generation of enduro machines on the terrain they were built to dominate.

With a rider-focused atmosphere, the initiative gives participants the freedom to explore the performance, agility and character of KTM’s latest enduro machines, helping them identify the model best suited to their riding goals: whether that’s chasing podiums, conquering technical terrain or simply enjoying more time on the trails.

To take part, riders must first book entry directly with the event organiser, which they can do via the dedicated KTM webpage. Once at the venue on their own bike, free KTM test rides can be booked with the KTM team on-site. Test rides will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.

Who fancies two more European blockbusters before the flyaway stretch of the season begins? We certainly do, and good job too – because that’s exactly what MotoGP has in store in the next two weeks. Austria’s stunning Styrian mountains, where the Red Bull Ring nestles, arrives shortly. But first, we’re strapping in for a date on the glittering Adriatic as the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli gears up for the Red Bull Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera.

The tantalising MotoGP title race took a couple more twists last time out in Aragon, and it means we land at Misano with the top three in the championship split by a slender 24 points – and that includes one of the home heroes this weekend, Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing).

MM93 REELS IN MARTIN
We’ll come onto Bez and Aprilia shortly, but after a 37-point haul weekend on a happy hunting ground, Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) lands in enemy territory looking to reduce his 19-point deficit to World Championship leader Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) further. Or if possible, seize the title race lead – which is possible.

Most expected the reigning World Champion to collect maximum points at Aragon and the #93 delivered. Now, while Misano isn’t necessarily considered a MM93 stranglehold, Marquez does boast six MotoGP victories at the circuit – including two in the last two years. And if we hark back to the 2025 San Marino GP, we’ll recall a fascinating battle between Marc Marquez and Bezzecchi. A repeat would be more than welcome.
As it really ramps up, we’re now into the unrelenting run to Valencia. Martin, Marc Marquez, and Bezzecchi split by those 24 points. Is it between those three, or can anyone else propel themselves back into contention?

APRILIA SEEKING RESPONSE ON HOME TERRITORY
While some ground was given up in Aragon, it wasn’t a bad weekend at the office for Aprilia. Given Bezzecchi’s continuing return to full fitness, it was a very good weekend for the Italian ahead of his home Grand Prix, and one where Bez chopped the championship gap to Martin down by a few points.

For Martin, Aragon was a weekend where he simply didn’t have the pace to scrap for a podium. Instead, it was about settling for the absolute maximum possible, which is exactly what the #89 did with a pair of P5s. A cool, calm, and experienced head is on the shoulders of Martin in 2026, who knows from his 2024 title-winning campaign that consistency is key. Having said that, consistency alone isn’t key. The Spaniard was a Tissot Sprint and Grand Prix winner at the San Marino GP in 2023, can he be fighting for those honours again this weekend to keep – or extend – his standings lead?

THE CHASERS
Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) endured one of his toughest weekends of the season to surrender valuable points in the championship. A Misano podium would be very much welcomed from the Italian, who needs some big results soon if he’s going to drag himself back into serious title contention.

48 points is the gap from Martin to Di Giannantonio, with Ai Ogura (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team) now 53 away from the championship lead after his hand injury ruled the Japanese star out of MotorLand. Where will Ogura slot back in?

Then there’s Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). It was a sublime ride on Sunday in Aragon, going toe-to-toe with his 2027 teammate for the majority of the Grand Prix, Acosta showed exactly what he’s about. And while a title tilt looks to be too far of a stretch, the #37 looks set to have a big say on where the 2026 crown ends up. Can Acosta produce more of the same at Misano?

In seventh, Raul Fernandez (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team). After a Grand Prix to remember at Silverstone, Aragon was the opposite for the Spaniard, who after an unfortunate mechanical issue on Sunday sees his deficit to the top rise to 70 points. Fernandez will be seeking a rapid response this weekend.

MIXED FORTUNES
BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP’s Alex Marquez collected a Sprint silver medal and P4 in Aragon to continue his very solid return to action, and Fermin Aldeguer’s double P6 was a fine way to bounce back after his injury layoff. The Spaniards will be confident of fighting at the front in San Marino. Unfortunately for Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), meanwhile, it was a weekend to forget at MotorLand, who now has three Sunday DNFs in his last four outings. The Italian will be desperate to find some forward momentum in front of his adoring fans at Misano. Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) too, who goes in search of a return to the top 10 for the first time since the Catalan GP on home soil.

Meanwhile, Enea Bastianini (Red Bull KTM Tech3) lands at Misano – a circuit ‘The Beast’ won at in 2024 and bagged a debut MotoGP podium at in 2021 – from a P8 finish in Aragon, while Brad Binder’s (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) Sunday P10 didn’t tell the full tale after the South African was shuffled down to P20 at beginning of the Grand Prix and shot back up the order. And after Pol Espargaro stepped in to replace the injured Maverick Viñales at the last two Grands Prix, the #44 will continue to race at Red Bull KTM Tech3 at Misano as Viñales’ recovery continues.

BUILDING MOMENTUM
How good was it to see Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR) back in the saddle? And what a return it was too! Having missed the last six Grands Prix, Zarco sailed into Q2, backed it up with a P9 in the Sprint, and then salvaged a point after his double Long Lap on Sunday. Teammate Diogo Moreira (Pro Honda LCR) also impressed, with P7 in the Sprint and a P9 in the Grand Prix secured the Brazilian a second Saturday-Sunday double points haul of the year. That’s now five Sunday top 10s so far for Moreira in 2026, and the #11 bagged top HRC honours in Aragon too. Impressive progress. On the flip side, despite both riders picking up points in Aragon, it was a lowkey weekend for both Joan Mir and Honda HRC Castrol teammate Luca Marini, who will be looking for more at Misano – Marini especially on home turf.

Aragon saw Yamaha back in the top 10 mix too, with Jack Miller (Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP) leading the charge. It’s four top 12 results on the spin in the lead up to Misano for him. Teammate Toprak Razgatlioglu ended his weekend with a Turn 12 crash, but the Turk was ruffling feathers in the fight for a top 10 too for much of the weekend. Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) collected points in P13 at his home Grand Prix, while teammate Fabio Quartararo goes in search of a first Sunday points finish since his German GP P7, at the circuit where he became the 2021 MotoGP World Champion.

37 points a weekend makes every GP a pivotal stage as the pendulum keeps swinging in 2026. Will it remain that trio pulling away at the front? Or can someone make a stand to get back in contention? Tune in for the Red Bull Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera as we take aim at Valencia and ramp up the pressure.

KTM challenges riders to discover Automated Manual Transmission for themselves

KTM invites riders across the country to put their assumptions to the test with the launch of its new TAKE THE AMT CHALLENGE campaign, running from 7th September to 11th October 2026 at KTM dealerships nationwide.

Designed to encourage riders to experience KTM’s innovative Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) technology firsthand, the campaign centres on the KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE S EVO. Automatic motorcycles continue to divide opinion, but KTM has a simple question for the doubters: have you actually ridden one?

The AMT CHALLENGE directly confronts scepticism surrounding automated transmissions, inviting riders to step beyond speculation and discover the KTM’s most advanced Adventure bike ever for themselves. Combining KTM’s trademark performance, adventure capability and rider-focused innovation, the KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE S EVO delivers a riding experience that challenges convention and demands to be experienced from behind the bars.

KTM believes opinions should be formed on the road, not in the comments section. That’s why the campaign encourages riders to test their preconceptions and experience the benefits, capability and versatility of KTM’s AMT technology firsthand. After all, it’s easy to dismiss something you’ve never tried.

To TAKE THE AMT CHALLENGE, riders are required to simply complete a test ride on the KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE S EVO, which can be arranged via the KTM website or by contacting their local authorised KTM dealer directly. The Western Asian sunshine beat down on the Afyon Motor Sport Centre today, as the MXGP of Türkiye saw round 17 of the 2026 FIM World Motocross Championships take place in hot conditions, that baked the clay of the hardpack circuit into a fast but testing surface for the MXGP elite.

History was made at the end of the first MXGP race, as Jeffrey Herlings became only the fourth rider in Motocross history to clinch his sixth World Championship, his third in the premier class and his first for Honda HRC Petronas. He did so with a perfect 1-1 performance to complete his fifth perfect weekend in a row, extending his winning streak to 17 individual races in succession!

After clinching the Championship at the earliest opportunity, at the end of race one, he was then chased hard to the line in race two by his Honda HRC Petronas teammate Tom Vialle, who took second overall for his third straight podium finish, while the outgoing World Champion Romain Febvre claimed third overall for Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP, his ninth podium of the season.

In MX2, the Championship battle took a massive swing to the Triumph Racing Factory Team, as Guillem Farres got back to winning ways with his sixth GP win, and the team are now 1-2 in the Championship after a disastrous day for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s leading challenger Sacha Coenen.

Reigning Champion Simon Längenfelder took his first Sunday race win since April for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, helping him to second overall ahead of Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Liam Everts, who scored his third podium result in a row.

It was an emotional day for all concerned at the Afyon Motor Sports Center, and there is still a lot of great racing to come in the final two rounds of this year’s pulsating World Championship series!

Yet again, Jeffrey Herlings would let nobody gain a confidence boost from being faster than him in any session, and being one of just two riders to post seven laps in the session, his last lap put him three-tenths faster than his closest Championship rival, Romain Febvre.  Andrea Adamo, enjoying Afyon far more on a 450 than he ever did on a 250, posted the third fastest time for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, with Team Honda Motoblouz SR Motul rider Kevin Horgmo a fine fourth ahead of the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP team leader Tim Gajser.

Herlings knew that if he finished ahead of Febvre in the opening race, the Championship would be in his pocket, but as ever the merciless Dutchman was set on simply beating everybody on-track in order to be satisfied.

It’s been clear recently that a previous weakness for “The Bullet”, that being his starts, is a weakness no longer, and although Tom Vialle was slightly ahead at the entrance to the first corner, Herlings powered out of it to cross the Fox Holeshot line in the lead. Bad news for everybody else in the race!

Vialle was out-smarted on the exit to the second corner, as Gajser powered around the outside to put himself into second spot, while Adamo, in fifth behind Febvre, stumbled out of that corner and held up several riders, somehow holding onto the position!  Pauls Jonass emerged in sixth for Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP, ahead of the returning Alberto Forato on the Fantic Factory Racing MXGP machine, and Red Bull Ducati Factory MXGP Team rider Calvin Vlaanderen.  Venrooy KTM Racing’s Jeremy Seewer was behind them, with Horgmo rounding out the top ten.

Horgmo would be passed on lap three by the third Honda HRC Petronas of Ruben Fernandez, but the Spaniard’s rough weekend, after a big Qualifying Race crash yesterday, would continue as he tipped over on lap 11, allowing Horgmo to finish in tenth. On lap two, Vlaanderen attempted to go around the outside of Forato in the split lane section, but left the door open for Seewer instead! The Swiss ace was unable to get past Forato, so that’s where they finished.

Up front, Herlings pressed on, setting what would be the Acerbis Fastest Lap of the whole day on lap nine.  Gajser was able to keep him in sight, but Febvre was hounding his countryman Vialle, who finally ran wide in a left-handed corner to allow the Kawasaki man into third!  Behind them, Adamo was able to score his equal-best race finish at this track with fifth ahead of Jonass.

Herlings was able to control the race and win by over three and a half seconds from Gajser, as the team and the Dutchman’s supporters gathered near the start line to celebrate his long-awaited sixth World Championship title, and his first for Honda!

Relieved to have clinched the title at the first possible chance, Jeffrey shared a few moments with his family and friends before preparing for race two, as the team fitted a World Champion number plate and graphics to his machine to compliment his special golden crash helmet!

He did the kit justice again, with an almost identical Fox Holeshot to his first one, and after grabbing only one of these awards in the previous four years, this one puts him on eight for 2026, only one behind Vialle at the top of that table!

Vialle himself was not about to allow Gajser to rail around the outside again, and pulled a spectacular scrub over the first jump of the lap to fend off the Slovenian for second!  Jonass and Adamo disputed fourth and fifth while Febvre was on the edge of the top ten!  By the end of the first full lap, the Frenchman was up to fifth ahead of Adamo, with Fernandez, Seewer, Vlaanderen, and the TEM JP253 KTM of Jan Pancar all in the initial top ten.

Gajser saved what could have been a big crash, but ran off-track in doing so, and lost two positions to the Kawasaki teammates just before the end of lap two! Vlaanderen also slipped back two spots to leave Horgmo in the top ten again, and the Norwegian then followed Pancar past Seewer to get to ninth.

Meanwhile, Vialle gave chase to his gold-plated teammate, as Febvre got past Jonass at the end of Pit Lane straight!  Gajser went around the Latvian in the split lane section for fourth on lap four, but Febvre was able to hold him back for the rest of the race.  From there, third place to sixth held fast in the order of Febvre, Gajser, Jonass, and Adamo.  Gajser made a small mistake, tipping over in a corner with four laps to go, that cost him a shot at Febvre, and he was to finish fourth overall on the tie-break, while Jonass took fifth over Adamo, also due to the better second race.

Pancar was impressive as he went after Fernandez, and the Spaniard made a mistake that allowed both the Slovenian and Horgmo past into seventh and eighth in the race, which is where they would finish overall.  Fernandez took ninth ahead of Vlaanderen and Seewer, giving the Ducati man his first top ten overall since his home GP two months ago, in ninth ahead of the Swiss Venrooy KTM rider.

Vialle was not letting Herlings have an easy Championship victory lap, pressing “The Bullet” to his maximum pace, and despite sliding outwards with two laps to go to lose a couple of seconds, he caught it back up! The pair finished over 28 seconds clear of Febvre by the flag, with the Frenchman just half a second shy of his teammate over the finish line!

There is no doubt that Herlings had dominated the weekend, but that late charge from Vialle will give the Frenchman some hope with his seventh podium and two rounds to go for another GP victory.  Herlings lifts his record of GP wins to 123, with 233 GP race wins also another record.  The biggest number, however, is that magic number six, that clearly puts him in the higher echelons of the greatest Champions in the sport, especially when you add three silver medals and several injury-destroyed seasons into the equation.

MXGP salutes the new World Champion, and we know that he will be up for a new challenge in defence of that crown in 2027!  In the man’s own language, Gefeliciteerd Wereldkampioen!

Jeffrey Herlings: “It’s great, I’m really pleased. Even though I had such a points gap, I was really stressed the last couple of weeks, because I knew the only thing that could possibly ruin my championship was an injury, and I’ve been quite fragile in the past when I had crashes. I didn’t sleep much last night, I think I got three hours in. I was going through all kinds of scenarios, if this, if that, and just trying not to crash. Out of all of them, I never guessed I was going to take two holeshots and lead every single lap. It’s a sixth world championship, my 123rd GP win and my 11th of the year with Honda HRC Petronas. I just hate losing, and in the six championships I’ve won, every time I’ve won the race and the championship on the same day. The season isn’t over either, so I keep trying to get the record higher and higher, GP wins, race wins, whatsoever.”

Tom Vialle: “It was a great weekend overall. I was struggling a little bit in the last laps of the first race, so we made some bike changes for the second one, small things, but they helped me a lot and I felt way more comfortable. My first mistake was at the start. I had a really great jump out of the gate but I went a little too wide, and Jeffrey [Herlings] passed me right there in the pit lane. I gave everything I had all race and I didn’t know if I was going to make it, because Jeffrey was pushing hard. Every lap I told myself, okay, one more lap. I pushed until the last lap, but he didn’t make many mistakes, he stayed really strong. It’s still my first year, so these races are really important for me, seeing what Jeffrey does on the track, and I’m trying to learn as much as I can.”

Romain Febvre: “It was not a big surprise that Jeffrey [Herlings] got the title, but I’m still battling for second, which I’m happy with considering everything I had during the season. This weekend, from where I started, I felt I could not be better than third in each race. In the second race the two guys next to me went one, two and then they were gone. When I moved into P3 there was maybe 10 or 12 seconds to the front, so I was a little bit on my own. That’s all I had. The next month is going to be demanding, but I’m used to racing every weekend. Australia is always good, a little bit like here, not too hot. China is definitely the hardest, so we really have to manage it well.”

As has often been the case in his rookie MX2 season, Latvian teenager Janis Reisulis set the fastest time in morning Warm-Up for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2, three tenths of a second ahead of Qualifying Race winner Guillem Farres. Sacha Coenen, in third, as well as the rest of the pack, were over two seconds further behind as many riders were clearly saving themselves for the afternoon’s races.

Much was said before the race about the three title contenders, who are all in the position of fighting for a world crown for the first time in their lives.  How would it affect their nerves and emotions in today’s races?

We got the answer immediately, as Coenen hit the start gate just as it dropped for race one, causing his neighbour on the line, Farres, to flinch and nearly do the same!  It was the other Red Bull KTM of Simon Längenfelder who took the Fox Holeshot Award, his seventh of the year, and the reigning Champion looked good as he charged into the second corner ahead of Liam Everts, Janis Reisulis, and Farres.  That is, until a stunning move from Farres shot him between the Yamaha and the Husqvarna, and he was even able to scrub his way past the #1 to lead into the third corner!

His Triumph Racing Factory teammate Camden McLellan was sat in fifth, but he shifted up a place as Janis suffered a fast crash on the outside of a 90-degree left-hander!  Julius Mikula held fifth for the Osička KTM MX Team, but by the end of the first full lap Coenen had put on an incredible charge to pass the Maddii Racing Honda ABF Italia of Maxime Grau for sixth!

The second Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 of Karlis Reisulis held eighth by that time, ahead of the Dixon Racing Team Kawasaki of Kay Karssemakers and SixtySeven Racing Husqvarna’s Scott Smulders, rounding out the top ten on his first visit to Afyon.

Coenen was eyeing up a move on Mikula, but at the start of lap two he suffered a massive crash over one of the fastest jumps on the circuit, and he was obviously unable to restart after the massive impact that looked like it might have aggravated his already injured right collarbone.

Längenfelder was able to recover his composure and close back up to Farres at the front, as Karssemakers passed Karlis Reisulis for seventh on lap three.  Janis also got past his brother into eighth after his first-lap crash, while on lap seven Längenfelder jumped alongside Farres and claimed the lead back from the Spaniard!

By lap eight, Janis Reisulis’ charge had put him past both Karssemakers and Grau to claim sixth, and he was after another privateer in the shape of Mikula.  Meanwhile, McLellan was hassling Everts, as the precise Belgian frustrated several passing attempts.  Finally, Liam slipped sideways, nearly down, through the corner at the end of the wave section, and Camden was able to take a deserved third place behind Längenfelder and Farres! The German’s race win was his first on a Sunday since Sardegna, as far back as round four!

Everts was able to rescue fourth, as Mikula held back Janis Reisulis to take his first top five finish since Trentino in April!  Grau, Karssemakers, and Karlis Reisulis followed them through, while Noel Zanocz passed Smulders to take tenth for Venrooy KTM Racing as early as lap five.

Sacha Coenen was able to line up for race two despite being in some pain, and what a start it was as he rocketed to his fifteenth Fox Holeshot Award of the season! Everts, Längenfelder, Farres and Janis Reisulis gave chase, and the series leader was again super aggressive on the opening lap, passing the reigning Champ and the Belgian style king to challenge Coenen as they started the first full circulation!

With a committed double jump into a corner, the red plate was pushed into the lead, and although Coenen instantly looked to retaliate, he suddenly pulled off the circuit and into Pit Lane, reportedly in too much pain to continue racing.  We await information from the team, but certainly wish the teenage Belgian well with whatever caused him to end his own race.

From there, Farres marched to an unassailable lead, winning by over six seconds to claim the sixth Grand Prix victory of his young career.  Everts held off a brief challenge from Längenfelder, although the German’s first race win gave him second overall ahead of the Belgian.  McLellan was unable to progress from fourth, the position he would take overall to end his podium streak at five GPs.

Janis Reisulis ran off track before the end of the first lap, and got help from marshalls to restart his bike, resulting in disqualification for outside assistance.  The revelation of race two was Kay Karssemakers, after suffering such a horrendous Qualifying Race when the bike failed to make it around the first lap, the Dutchman fought to hold off several attacks from Grau to claim fifth place for that position overall, both of those results absolute career bests for the Dixon Kawasaki man!

Grau’s sixth place, in the race and overall, also matched his career highs, while Mikula recovered from a poor start to chase Karlis Reisulis over the line. Their overall positions would be the reverse order, the Czech rider seventh ahead of the Latvian.  Zanocz and Smulders finished ninth and tenth to take those positions overall.

The thumping victory for Farres puts him in a prime position to take the title, holding a 50-point advantage now from his teammate McLellan, who leapfrogged the troubled Coenen to make it a factory Triumph 1-2 in the Championship for the first time ever!  Coenen is ten points further back, and if he can make it to China he would need to defeat the points leader to keep his title chase alive.  Even Längenfelder put himself up to just 20 points behind his fellow Red Bull KTM man.

The series now clocks up the air miles as it heads to Shanghai for the penultimate round, the MXGP of China in Shanghai!  Join us there to see if Herlings can extend his unbeaten run, and if Farres can clinch the hotly-contested MX2 Championship!

Guillem Farres: “It definitely feels good. It was good to get a weekend off after Arnhem, my body really needed it. They were some tough weeks for me after the crash in Uddevalla, and Arnhem was a tough race for me also. I won the qualifying race yesterday, and I led some laps in the first race until Simon [Laengenfelder] passed me, and he was just faster than me in that race. In the second race I put myself in a good position from the beginning again, and from there I was setting my pace, riding comfortable, not making mistakes. I’m happy that I didn’t really make any big mistakes in any race.”

Simon Laengenfelder: “Those last few GPs were quite tough for me, so being back on the podium and especially taking that race win in race one felt good. Those past few races I’ve really been lacking on intensity, on speed, on everything, and I felt like, what is wrong? In the second race I was there in third position, and then everybody had their gap and the track was quite sketchy, so I think all of us just settled into those positions, and it was good enough for second overall. I’m for sure out of the championship fight, but I’m still trying to do my best. You never know what’s going to happen.”

Liam Everts: “In race one I was not where I wanted to be, I was just lacking that intensity and those little details just didn’t come to me. Camden [Mc Lellan] was really, really trying everywhere and I just didn’t get any breathing room. Then I had a little slip up with a lap to go and he passed me, so third was gone for me there. In the second one I made some small changes and that was better. Simon [Laengenfelder] was giving me some heat at one point but I could keep him behind, he made a mistake, and I ended up second. Obviously I’m really happy and pleased to be on the box again. I’d like a win, but I’ve still got two more chances to go.”

Relentless high-octane action in Valencia as Round 5 of the FIM MotoJunior World Championship concludes in style.

Carlos Cano continues his meteoric rise in the Moto3 Junior World Championship while Alvaro Lucas is reined in by Lorenzo Pritelli in the Moto4 European Cup under the fierce Valencian sun at Circuit Ricardo Tormo.

Moto3 Junior World Championship

– Carlos Cano (CFMOTO Aspar Junior Team) relished a perfect weekend in Valencia. Starting from pole position, he claimed a sensational win in Race 1 and was pushed all the way in a hard-fought Race 2 battle by Fernando Bujosa (AC Racing Team).

– Finishing just behind in both races was Cano’s Kyrgyzstani teammate at Aspar, Yaroslav Karpushin (CFMOTO Aspar Junior Team).

– Another Aspar rider, Giulio Pugliese (CFMOTO Aspar Junior Team), finished in P4 in both encounters. Today’s results mean that the team now have a 1-2-3 in the Moto3 Junior World Championship standings.

– Making his Moto3 Junior World Championship debut, Johnny Garness (GRYD Racing) made a stunning return to competition after over three years of absence. The young Brit finished just outside the points in P18 in Race 1.

Moto2 European Championship

– After a difficult qualifying, reigning Moto2 European Champion Milan Pawelec imposed himself in Valencia. Starting from the third row on the grid, he battled to the front before the race was red-flagged. After the restart, the polish rider held off his challengers to win and extend his lead at the top of the 2026 standings.

– Pawelec was joined on the podium by Harrison Voight (Cardoso Racing), who sealed a deserved podium for the first time since 2023. Completing the rostrum was Alessandro Morosi (Eagle-1).

– Unai Orradre (Momoven Racing) had issues from the start and had to begin the sole Moto2 ECh race of the day from pit lane. While starting promisingly, the Spaniard saw a black flag and had to withdraw from proceedings.

– Eric Fernandez (Fau55TeyRacing) also failed to complete the race after appearing to suffer with some technical issues, before crashing out of contention.

Moto4 European Cup

– Alvaro Lucas (CFMOTO Aspar Junior Team) took the opening win of the weekend in Race 1, after an action-packed battle ended with last-corner drama as Edoardo Savino (Leopard Junior) crashed out of the leading group.

– Fynn Kratochwil (Snipers IGAX Team) finished just 0.356s behind the Spaniard to take his maiden podium in the class, ahead of Lorenzo Pritelli (Team Echovit Pasini Racing) in third.

– Pritelli went on to take victory in Race 2 ahead of Edoardo Savino (Leopard Junior), with last-lap drama bringing out the red flags.

– Alvaro Lucas rounded out the podium in third, having been denied his first championship match point of 2026.

Stock European Championship

– French rider Lorenzo Fellon (SF Racing) converted pole position into back-to-back victories, fending off Jacobo Hinojosa (Futurotel Face Racing) to take the championship lead from Yeray Ruiz (Team Honda Laglisse).

– Ruiz charged from P18 on the grid to finish fourth, narrowly missing out on the podium after losing an epic last-lap battle with Alberto Garcia (Top Surface Aspar Team) for third.

WorldSBK: More than 50,000 fans attended the French Round and were treated to an exciting final day of racing, with Nicolo Bulega completing a perfect weekend for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati squad.

Race 2 Highlights
A red flag disrupted Race 2 and shortened the contest to 19 laps, but with Bulega already more than five seconds clear of Lecuona, there was little doubt about the outcome at the front of the field. For the first time this weekend, Bulega converted his pole position into the Lap 1 lead and from that point onwards was able to control the pace and build a commanding advantage.

Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) started from the front row but dropped behind Alberto Surra (Motocorsa Racing) in the early stages, with Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) keeping a watching brief in fifth position. Surra spent the first five laps in third before eventually dropping to fifth, with Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team GoEleven) also moving ahead in the closing stages.

The race was red-flagged following a crash for Tommy Bridewell (Superbike Advocates) at Turn 3. The rookie had been running in seventh position but came under increasing pressure during the closing stages. With three laps remaining, Alvaro Bautista (Barni Spark Racing Team) eased past his rival at Turn 8 to take sixth position. Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) was closing rapidly when Bridewell crashed, promoting the American to seventh at the chequered flag.

Championship Highlights
Bulega completed his eighth hat-trick of the season and scored 62 points across the French Round, extending his championship advantage over Lecuona to 146 points. The next round at Cremona could provide Bulega with his first opportunity to clinch the WorldSBK Riders’ Championship.

Montella’s double podium finish at Magny-Cours allowed him to extend his advantage over Alex Lowes in third position in the championship standings to 46 points.

P1 – Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati)
“Iker was very strong all weekend, every time he pushes, he puts more on the table, so it’s good to win, especially in race two, the last race of the weekend. I’m in good shape with my bike, so I’m happy, I think we have a big advantage now. I’m really looking forward to Cremona. It could be a great place to win the title. But like I said before, for me the important thing is winning races. The championship is great, but what matters most to me is continuing to win.”

P2 – Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati)
“I said yesterday it would be very difficult to beat Nicolo, but our target was to find that chance. I want to thank the team, because they worked really hard, I pushed hard on the bike setup, and they were open to making a lot of changes. This morning it was a different bike, and in the afternoon we changed it a bit more, but I struggled. It was a tough race for me, and a difficult weekend overall, but a positive one, because we gathered really important information across three different bike setups. That’s the key thing for us.”

P3 – Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team)
“Today we knew we had a chance to improve a little with the bike, and in the end we managed it, thanks to some adjustments this morning. We made a big change for the Superpole race, and it paid off because I had good pace. Today was my chance to show my rhythm, and I think I had my best race ever, I felt really happy with how I was riding, and I kept a good rhythm throughout. I started to struggle a little with the front tyre toward the end, but it wasn’t a bad race. A good weekend for us overall, since we keep adding points to our championship, and that’s really important for us.”

Superpole Race Highlights
Bulega claimed the holeshot into Turn 1 at the start of the 10-lap Tissot Superpole Race, but teammate Lecuona immediately launched an attack at Turn 5. Bulega responded one lap later before the Ducati pair ran side by side on the following tour. Lecuona ran wide at Turn 6, allowing Bulega to establish control and settle the battle for victory in his favour.

A final-lap crash for Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) at Turn 3 promoted Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) into the podium positions.

WorldSSP: A mid-race red flag after Lap 11, triggered by a heavy crash for Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) at Turn 3, brought the opening contest to an early conclusion.

At the time of the stoppage, Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) was leading the field and started the five-lap restart from pole position.

Roberto Garcia claimed his first WorldSSP victory in dramatic fashion at Magny-Cours, with the GMT94 Yamaha rider taking advantage of a final-lap mistake from Can Oncu to secure a maiden win for the French team. Garcia kept Oncu within reach throughout the restarted race before the decisive moment came on the final lap. Oncu struggled to stop his Yamaha for the Turn 15 right-hander and ran wide, allowing Garcia to take the lead and cross the line for the first victory of his career. The Spaniard’s breakthrough success came just one day after finishing runner-up to Oncu in Race 1, while GMT94 Yamaha celebrated a memorable home victory.

Championship leader Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) produced a determined performance despite suffering a right-hand injury in Race 1. The Spanish rookie had been running inside the podium positions before the red flag and, starting third on the grid for the restart, immediately attacked for the lead. Arenas led before eventually finishing second, securing valuable championship points ahead of his title rival Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory).

Championship Highlights
Arenas continues to lead the WorldSSP Riders’ Championship, with his advantage over Debise now standing at 70 points. Oncu remains third in the standings, holding a six-point advantage over Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura).

Yamaha extended its advantage in the Manufacturers’ Championship to 72 points over Ducati, while QJMOTOR scored its first points of the season. Raffaele de Rosa secured three points for the manufacturer with 13th position.

“This feels amazing. Yesterday I said that I wanted to fight for first position. From warm-up I felt good on the bike and had some good laps and I really pushed to make a strong start to the race. We had a small mistake at the start off the line but I came back and when the red flag came out I knew it was possible to attack with more confidence. This win is amazing for Yamaha, we have a really good bike, and I think we can fight for the podium, and for wins, in the other races too.”

WorldSPB: Starting from the fourth row of the grid, Xavi Artigas (MTM Kawasaki) fought his way through the field before moving to the front on the final lap of an enthralling 11-lap World Sportbike race.

A daring move at the downhill Turn 15 saw Artigas sweep across the bows of his rivals to claim his second victory of the season.

Carter Thompson (Team BrCorse) started from the front row and remained inside the top five throughout the race before securing second position and his fourth podium of the campaign.

Race 1 winner Fenton Seabright (PHR Performance Triumph) produced a dramatic final lap of his own, battling closely with Thompson before attacking championship leader David Salvador at Turn 15. The move secured third position for Seabright and another podium finish.

Jose Osuna (Deza-Box 77 Racing Team) led the opening lap before producing his best result of the season with fifth position.

Championship Highlights
David Salvador will head to the penultimate round of the campaign with a 30-point advantage over Artigas in the FIM World Sportbike Championship standings. Antonio Torres’ title challenge suffered a further setback after a technical problem forced the Team ProDina Kawasaki XCI rider to retire. Torres now sits 51 points behind Salvador in third position

Kawasaki strengthened its position at the top of the Manufacturers’ Championship, extending its advantage to 74 points with four races remaining.

P1 – Xavi Artigas (MTM Kawasaki)
“I’m really happy about the race, more than happy, because we started in 11th place. Yesterday we didn’t have a great lap time, which left us in that position, but today we set the fastest lap. At the start I struggled a bit, because we’d changed the bike a little from yesterday. After yesterday’s race, I told the team I needed better braking on the bike, and they gave me exactly that. I’m really happy, because the team’s work has been amazing.”

The slick, hard pack surface of the Afyon Motor Sport Center saw two tough Qualifying Races today with sunshine and some medium strength winds drying the circuit out rapidly towards the end of the Saturday programme at the MXGP of Türkiye!

The MXGP Qualifying Race was kept close at the top for the entire race, but Jeffrey Herlings finally put a stunning pass on his Honda HRC Petronas teammate Tom Vialle to take the win away on the penultimate lap, while the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP machine of Tim Gajser was also close to the top in taking third place. The win puts “The Bullet” even closer to being able to clinch the World Championship in tomorrow’s opening MXGP race!

In MX2, Guillem Farres made a much earlier pass for the lead, and brought it home from there for his second Qualifying Race win for the Triumph Racing Factory Team, building his points advantage slightly over Sacha Coenen, who finished second for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. Liam Everts continued his good run of form with third for Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing.

The MX2 title battle continues to be close at the top, but Herlings could become World Champion for the first time in five years if he finishes ahead of Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Romain Febvre in race one tomorrow!

Jeffrey Herlings continued to show his dominance of the MXGP field with the top time in both Free Practice and Time Practice sessions, but the lap for the first gate pick came right at the end of the session, just unseating Tim Gajser by seven tenths of a second. Romain Febvre was third quickest ahead of surprise packages Jeremy Seewer on the Venrooy Racing KTM, and Jan Pancar on his TEM JP253 Racing KTM.

However, from the sixth gate pick, Tom Vialle carved across the outside of Gajser, who had out-jumped Herlings out of the gate, although the series leader held a tight line to charge into the second corner third behind the Frenchman and the Slovenian, as Febvre and Seewer gave chase!

Seewer was quickly passed by sole Red Bull KTM Factory Racing warrior Andrea Adamo for fifth, and the third Honda HRC Petronas of Ruben Fernandez also got past the Swiss veteran. The Spaniard was able to pass the Italian on lap three for fifth.

Up front, Herlings sneaked to the inside of Gajser as they charged into the split lane section, grabbing third halfway around the opening lap! He soon caught up to Vialle, but the three-time MX2 winner here has remembered the perfect racing lines and was not making any mistakes for his Dutch teammate to pounce upon!

Further back, Pauls Jonass had run off-track to the outside of turn one, but fought through the pack well to claim ninth for Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP, while Alberto Forato took the final point in tenth on his return to action for Fantic Factory Racing MXGP.  They were both assisted by a big crash for Fernandez on lap ten, and the Spaniard rode off the circuit in pain.  We all hope he is healthy enough to compete tomorrow.

That promoted Adamo to fifth place, his best Qualifying Race result ever in Türkiye!  Pancar made a last lap pass to take sixth place from Red Bull Ducati Factory MXGP Team rider Calvin Vlaanderen, with Seewer in eighth.

Herlings continued to press Vialle, and got close again with three laps to go. On the penultimate lap, after being thwarted in an outside passing attempt around a 90-degree left-hander, he made a cutting outside to inside move through a right-handed hairpin that snatched the lead away from his teammate!

Gajser and Febvre were lurking, but they would finish third and fourth respectively, while Vialle attempted a last lap run to reclaim the lead, but Herlings was able to hold on by just over a second, making it five Qualifying Race wins in a row, and his 15th race win in succession!

This leaves the points gap at the top at 146 points between Jeffrey and Romain, and if he is 145 ahead after race one tomorrow then he can be crowned World Champion for the sixth time! Finishing ahead of Febvre will be the goal for Herlings, although it’s likely that he will just want to keep his streak alive and win the title in style!

Make sure you tune in tomorrow for just that little bit of Motocross history!

Jeffrey Herlings: “I had a quite okay start, it was a little bit off. I managed to pass Febvre in the first turn, also Tim Gajser somewhere in the first lap and I was stuck behind Tom. He was riding really good. He didn’t ride dirty, but he just had the perfect lines. He is my teammate also and I respect him, so I didn’t want to put any dirty moves. With two laps to go I had to do something, I didn’t touch him, but I had to go in a bit harder. Nice to sit on pole for tomorrow’s race, it’s an important race for me. Let’s go into tomorrow and do our best and work from there.”

Tom Vialle: “I felt good to be honest. Great start again and I think my pace was fine. It was tough, I mean Jeffrey, Tim and Romain behind me the whole moto. Unfortunately Jeffrey got me at two laps to go, so hopefully tomorrow I can handle him a little bit longer.”

Tim Gajser: “I felt the whole day quite good on the track. The track was starting to get quite hard now for qualifying race, but decent start and I was there. Then I was just a little bit too defensive on the first couple of laps, where Jeffrey passed me. Then I picked up the speed of him and Vialle. Pretty happy with the riding, but tomorrow is a new day!”

Liam Everts was the fastest rider in Free Practice ahead of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing duo Simon Längenfelder and Sacha Coenen. Coenen took the first gate pick, however, with a time just a quarter of a second up from Triumph Factory Racing Team’s Camden McLellan. next came Everts and Längenfelder, with series leader Guillem Farres lining up in fifth.

Sacha used that inside gate to great effect with a trademark Holeshot, with Everts and Farres disputing second through the second corner, while Längenfelder had to deal with the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 rider Janis Reisulis in a battle for fourth. McLellan was behind Janis’ brother and teammate Karlis Reisulis, but pulled a nice outside to inside pass to get through to sixth, then took advantage of Janis running wide to take fifth down the next straight.

Farres had gone around the outside of Everts to claim that second place, and with a stunning turn of speed he chopped across the front of Coenen to lead halfway around the opening lap!

From there, all of the passing was being done further down the pack, as Scott Smulders enjoyed his first visit to Türkiye with tenth for SixtySeven Racing Team, having made a mid-race pass on the Venrooy Racing KTM of Noel Zanocz.  In the same spot on the track, the braking zone into the corner that leads back to the start straight, Maxime Grau passed Karlis Reisulis to claim a career-best Qualifying Race finish of seventh for

Maddi Racing Honda ABF Italia. Between those battles, Ošicka KTM MX Team rider Julius Mikula finished in ninth place.  Janis continued to pressure McLellan, who was unable to get past Längenfelder, dropping over nine seconds back from the defending Champion to finish fifth ahead of the younger Latvian brother.

The German had a lonely race to fourth, ten seconds back from Everts. The Belgian closed in on Coenen, but finished a second and a half back in third place.  The top two in the series took first and second, pulling them both away from McLellan, who is now 15 behind the KTM man.

Farres took just his second career Qualifying Race win, extending his Championship lead over Coenen to 26 points.  This battle for the MX2 title is likely to run and run, and for sure McLellan will need better starts tomorrow to keep himself relevant to that battle.

We should be in for an enthralling day of racing tomorrow in MX2, and the MXGP of Türkiye is likely to make a big difference to the title tussle between three riders who have never been in this territory before!

Nicolo Bulega’s near-perfect 2026 campaign continued with his 24th WorldSBK race victory of the season at Magny-Cours.

A mid-race red flag, caused by a Turn 14 crash for Tommy Bridewell (Superbike Advocates), reduced Race 1 to a 12-lap restart but Bulega remained in control after an early battle with his Aruba.it Racing – Ducati teammate Iker Lecuona to win by more than three seconds.

Race 1 Highlights
The opening stages were action-packed, with Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team), Miguel Oliveira (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team), Mattia Rato (Motoxracing WorldSBK Team), Stefano Manzi (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) and Bridewell all crashing before the red flag. Somkiat Chantra (Honda HRC) was also forced to retire from the restarted race after suffering a technical failure.

The red flag came after nine completed laps, with Bulega holding a lead of just five tenths over Lecuona. The Ducati teammates resumed their fight for victory when the race restarted, with Lecuona leading the opening lap before Bulega attacked at Turn 5 on Lap 2. The pair ran side by side through the fast change of direction at Turn 6, with Bulega holding the inside line and forcing Lecuona to lose momentum. Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) immediately looked to take advantage at Turn 8, but Lecuona responded metres later to reclaim second position. From that point onwards, Bulega steadily extended his advantage and set a new lap record on his way to another victory.

Sam Lowes completed the podium and finished more than two seconds clear of the battle for fourth, strengthening his position in third place in the championship standings. Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) held fourth for the opening third of the race before Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) attacked on Lap 6 at Turn 13. Montella completed the race in fourth.

Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team Goeleven) crashed on the warm-up lap but was able to take the start and recover to sixth position. Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) finished seventh after starting the restarted race from the sixth row.

P1 – Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati)
“It’s fantastic to win after the long summer break. I’ve really missed this feeling. It was tough after the red flag because we had to make a second start and I knew Iker was strong. I told myself it was time to give it everything and go for the win. Restarts are always difficult because you need to stay fully focused through those opening laps. In the end, it worked out well. I still think we can improve the bike a little because even though I feel good it’s not 100% yet.”

P2 – Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati)
“I had bad luck with that red flag because I think I could have won this one. Nicolo had an advantage with the new tyre, as usual, but as the tyre is used I always get stronger. Before the red flag, I was on my best lap time and I was gaining so the race might have played out differently. I’m happy because I was keeping pace ahead of Sam because it’s not easy at this track where he’s fast and consistent. Finishing second here is no small thing. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.”

P3 – Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team)
“I’m really pleased with how today went. There was a small mistake in FP3 but I was happy with my lap in Superpole. Starting second is a good result, especially with the Superpole Race tomorrow in mind. The main race played out as I expected with the top two just a bit faster than me and I was third quickest overall. I need to keep working on a couple of areas, the pace is there in every sector, but I’m missing some consistency. I’ll go through the data tonight and try to bring it all together for tomorrow.”

Fastest lap: Nicolo Bulega (Ducati) 1’35.030s – new lap record

Superpole Highlights
Bulega secured the 2026 Tissot Superpole Award with a stunning lap that smashed the Magny-Cours lap record by six tenths of a second. It was his ninth pole position of the campaign, the 18th of his career, and Ducati’s first Superpole at Magny-Cours since James Toseland in 2003.

Sam Lowes bounced back from a Turn 15 crash in Free Practice 3 to secure his first front-row start since Round 3 at Assen. Lecuona completed the front row, with Ducati Panigale V4 machinery occupying the top five positions.

Alex Lowes was the leading non-Ducati rider in sixth, while Xavi Vierge (Pata Maxus Yamaha) and Jake Dixon (Honda HRC) also qualified inside the top ten. Tommy Bridewell and Lorenzo Baldassarri both crashed during the 15-minute session, at Turn 15 and Turn 8 respectively, but still set the seventh and eighth-fastest times.

WorldSSP: Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) finally ended his wait for a 2026 victory after a thrilling 19-lap battle with Roberto Garcia (GMT94 Yamaha).

After six podium finishes earlier in the campaign, Oncu secured his first win of the season by just 0.1 seconds, with the lead changing hands five times between the pair.

Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory) started from pole but dropped down the order after an opening-lap mistake. The Frenchman delighted the home crowd by fighting back to third, finishing ahead of compatriot Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha). The race also featured an incident involving Debise and Jorge Navarro (PTR Triumph Factory Racing), with the returning Spaniard receiving a Long Lap Penalty and eventually finishing seventh.

Championship leader Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) saw his race end after a collision with Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) at Turn 5. The incident occurred on just the third laps and was subsequently investigated by the FIM Race Stewards. Arenas will be have a medical assessment tomorrow for a right hand contusion.

Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) will start Race 2 from pole position after setting the fastest lap of Race 1. Aldi Mahendra (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) and Navarro will join him on the front row, with Debise and Oncu starting from the second row. Arenas will line up on the fourth row following his retirement.

“After what happened in the Superpole I was only hoping for a podium but it looks like coming from the back works better for me! I’m very happy and I’m very thankful for the team because they gave me a good bike today for the race. During the race, I was just trying to stay relaxed because normally I’m too excited. Kenan taught me how to be more relaxed on the bike and I trained on the bike every day. Hard work pays off and today is very special for me. We’ve been planning to get the first win with Ten Kate all year and today was the day so I’m very happy.”

WorldSPB: Fenton Seabright (PHR Performance Triumph) claimed his first World Championship victory after a dramatic conclusion to the World Sportbike race.

David Salvador (Team ProDina Kawasaki XCI) looked set to secure his third victory of the season after leading seven laps, but a track-limits infringement at the final corner resulted in a penalty and dropped the championship leader to second place. Seabright, who started fifth, had led four laps and maintained his composure throughout the race to take the chequered flag first and secure a maiden World Championship victory.

Antonio Torres (Team ProDina Kawasaki XCI) completed the podium, finishing ahead of the MTM Kawasaki pairing of Xavi Artigas and Loris Veneman. The leading five riders spent much of the race battling closely together, while Ferre Fleerackers (Track & Trades Wixx Racing) completed the top six.

Seabright’s fastest lap earned him pole position for Race 2, with the Team BrCorse pairing of Marco Gaggi and Carter Thompson joining him on the front row. Salvador will start from the third row, while Torres lines up on the fourth row.

“We all know that Salvador is the leader of the championship and he’s a difficult rider to be up against. I knew we had the pace to break away at the front, and I knew at the last lap it would be elbow to elbow, and that’s what it was. It was a great battle and I’m just glad I came out on top. We’ve been hunting for this win all year and we knew it was at our fingertips. We just had to put it all together to be able to have it in our hands. It’s an amazing feeling standing on the top step and listening to the national anthem.”
