Denise Welch Confirms Split from Husband

After a lot of speculation Denise Welch has finally announced her separation from her husband of 23 years, Tim Healy. Denise burst into tears live on Loose Women yesterday as she told the panel and audience.

Denise said:

“I just want to say, this is going to be really difficult for me… My family made a decision that we would talk about this today. Tim and I separated some time ago.”

She went on to say: “So I’m not having an affair, we have been living our own lives for some time now. I just wanted to thank everybody. Tim and I feel a sense of relief that we don’t have to hide this anymore. We’ve actually become better friends since we’ve made the decision but we wanted to have Christmas with the family without telling anybody.

We’re all just going to move forward as a family. Tim and I are still going to be co-parents (to sons Matthew, 22, and Louis, 10) and we love each other very much.”

Denise recently won Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5. It was so sad to see Denise so upset on national television but it must be a relief to finally tell the truth and let out this huge secret. Divorce is tough on any family but it must be so hard to have to deal with it all in such a public way. I wish the family all the best.

Bingo Buddies Raise Money For Breast Cancer

Two breast cancer survivors from Carlisle, 51-year old Sandra Telford (pictured) and 47-year old Ann Edwards, decided to raise some money for their local Breast Cancer Support Group and the upgrading of the radiotherapy department at The Cumberland Infirmary.

To help them fundraise, they set up an event at Rex Bingo in Denton Holme. They had a great response and all the players wore pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Week. Mum of two, Sandra, said, “The support we had from everybody at the bingo hall was fantastic. The whole place was full of people dressed in pink. It was wonderful.”

Following her diagnosis in 2009, Sandra underwent surgery and had chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment twice. She took inspiration from women who had battled the disease, saying, “It’s encouraging to meet some of the older members, some had a diagnosis 20 years ago, and they’re still going strong.”

With the help of the bingo crowd, they managed to raise an impressive £1,700, with £500 going to the Breast Cancer Support Group charity and the rest towards inproving radiotherapy treatment. Well done girls – what a great achievement!

Dawn’s Weight Loss Leaves Her Cold – Literally!

Dawn French, a regular on our TV screens, was previously known as being a larger lady, however, recently she lost a huge 7 and a half stone after cutting out chocolate and carbs. However, although she is pleased about her new slimmer physique, she has found that there are some down sides, and said, “Before, I had all this lovely blubber – I had my own wetsuit! Now I can’t get in the water in the winter months. I don’t have enough flesh to keep me warm!”

After years of being so much bigger, she said that she hadn’t quite got used to her new look, saying in a recent interview with Woman magazine, “I had great fondness for that other body. I knew it very well and I don’t know this one as well, not yet.”

54-year old Dawn quashed rumours that she had had a gastric band operation and confirmed that her weight loss was due to dieting, saying, ”I don’t have chocolate in my house. I don’t eat bread, potatoes or pasta now. I’m eating healthily, taking care of myself and feeling very happy indeed. Life is good. The fact is, I’m still a fat woman. I’m still stones over my BMI index or whatever it’s called.”

There was some speculation that the stress of her divorce from Lenny Henry after 25 years of marriage also played a part in her weight loss. However, it sounds like she’s moved on in that aspect of her life too and revealed that she had been enjoying the company of ‘gentlemen callers’. “I don’t even want to call it dating, like some teenager,“ she said, “I’m just trying to have a bit of fun every now and again. I’m open to marrying again, but I’m certainly not thinking about it right now.”

Will & Kate Adopt a Puppy

Prince William, 29, and Kate Middleton, 30, have a new addition to their family – a 3-month old black male Cocker Spaniel puppy! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to have had the puppy since December, but were spotted for the first time with the little dog as they went for a stroll near their home in Anglesey, North Wales.

Palace officials have since confirmed that the dog is theirs, but a spokesman from St James’s Palace said, “He is a private pet and they do not want his name to be made public although the couple are happy to confirm that they do, indeed, have a new dog.” Ladbrokes have been offering odds on the dog’s name, with 10/1 on Charlie, 33/1 on Bouncer and 66/1 on Fenton.

The new family member is thought to have come from a litter bred by Kate’s mum, Carole. The Middletons already have a Cocker Spaniel called Ella and it is thought that she may be the mother of William & Kate’s pup. The dog is the couple’s first pet together and his arrival is well timed as he will be able to keep Kate company during her husband’s deployment as a Search and Rescue pilot with the Sea King crew to the Falkland Islands, where he will stay for 6 weeks.

Sharon Returns To Albert Square!

After being away from EastEnders for six years, Sharon, played by 44-year old Leticia Dean, is returning to Walford! Sharon was one of the original characters in the BBC soap, when the show began in 1985 and this is Leticia’s third comeback to the Square, having started off in the programme as the adopted teenage daughter of ‘Dirty’ Den and Angie Watts.

Her character, Sharon, stayed in the series for some 10 years until 1994 when she fled Walford after it was revealed that she was having an affair with Phil Mitchell, while married to his brother, Grant. She then returned in 2001 to take over as landlady of The Queen Vic pub and remained there until 2004, but had a swift return in 2005, when she fell in love with her adoptive brother Dennis Rickman and had a baby with him. She left again in 2006 to move to America with her child after Dennis was stabbed to death.

After she left EastEnders for the last time, Leticia kept herself busy by taking to the stage in ‘High School Musical’ and taking part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. Now she returns to EastEnders as Sharon once again this summer with a secret storyline. Leticia said of her return to the series, ” I am really looking forward to being part of the EastEnders team again, as it has always been very close to my heart. I cannot wait to work with my old colleagues and see what is in store for Sharon.”

A big war of words occurred between Cheryl Cole and former So Solid Crew rapper, MC Harvey, after he claimed in an exclusive interview with Now Magazine that he had had a secret relationship with Cheryl in 2010, after she had split up from footballer husband, Ashley Cole.

32-year old Harvey was previously married to Alesha Dixon, but famously cheated on her with Javine Hylton, from whom he is now separated. In the interview, he claimed he was so in love with Cheryl he wanted to marry her and said, “There was a relationship and an attraction to each other’s aura. We started confiding in each other.”

After 28-year old Cheryl had heard about the allegations that Harvey had made, she posted a sarcastic tweet on Twitter, saying, “Was this ‘relationship’ happening in your head @harveyofficial?! Are you smoking something? I think I’ve met you once maybe twice at public events and with your wife.”

A slanging match started when Harvey hit back, saying, “Do you actually want me to tweet some of the messages you emailed me @cherylcole pipe down and stop playing the saint in front of your fans.’”

It all got a bit out of hand with angry tweets flying about and even fellow Girls Aloud member, Nicola Roberts, waded into the row with a cheeky tweet, which read “Emails?! I think someone’s been having you on mate… She doesn’t do emails, she does phone sex.”

While he was in Australia filming the reality TV show, Celebrity Apprentice Australia, David Hasselhoff took the chance to propose to his girlfriend, 32-year old Hayley Roberts, on top of Sydney Harbour Bridge.

He tweeted pictures on Twitter of himself down on bended knee complete with captions saying, “Tried it again on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge!” and “What do you think she said?!” Hayley did not confirm or deny whether she accepted the Hoff’s marriage proposal, but posted a cryptic message on Twitter herself, which simply read, “:-)))))) xxxxxxxxxxxx”

If David gets married again, Hayley will become the third Mrs Hasselhoff, as he has previously been married to Catherine Hickland, and Pamela Bach with whom he has two daughters – Taylor, 21, and Hayley, 19.

59-year old David and Hayley have been dating for almost a year since meeting at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in Cardiff when Hayley asked for his autograph. The proposal hasn’t come out of the blue though, as it’s not the first time David has asked for Hayley’s hand in marriage as he’s apparently popped the question at least twice already, but Hayley refused each time. However, it seems like it’s third time lucky! It just shows persistence can pay off…
