It will be Chris’s first venture into the world of acting, but Lord Lloyd Webber has taken a leap of faith and personally asked him to play the part. Taking on this new project has meant that there is a question mark over Chris Moyles’ role at Radio 1. Station controller, Ben Cooper, would not discuss his future at the station, saying in February, “That is a private and confidential issue, but he has got a contract with Radio 1. Whether it’s breakfast or Radio 1, that is for me to know. Chris and I have talked about it and that’s something that will stay between me and him.”

Another couple of stars will join Chris on stage, with ex-Spice Girl, Mel C, taking on the role of Mary Magdalene and comedian Tim Minchin appearing as Judas Iscariot. Mel has already performed in the West End in the popular musical ‘Blood Brothers’, but she seemed pleased about returning to the stage, and said, “Taking on the role of Mary Magdalene in the incredible Jesus Christ Superstar has to be one of my most exciting challenges to date.”

Tim Minchin was also excited about the new venture, saying, “As a huge fan of Jesus Christ Superstar, I’ve always thought it needed 3 key things: a big cast and band; loads of volume; and me playing Judas. I’ve been in two small productions of the show, and understudied the big man both times. I am really bloody excited about this.”

The main role of Jesus is yet to be cast, but they will be chosen by Lord Lloyd-Webber in a new reality TV show ‘Superstar’, which will air later this year. Lord Lloyd-Webber, who wrote the musical with lyricist, Sir Tim Rice, said, “Tim and I have always wanted to take Superstar back to its roots. We are both delighted that it will finally play an arena tour in the UK in venues where many of the world’s great rock acts have gone before. We’re thrilled to have such great talent in the cast for the new show – they are all true ambassadors of UK entertainment.”

One of the items up for sale is one of his famous right-handed, white crystal-encrusted gloves. The sparkling souvenir is expected to make over £250,000 at auction. There were other pieces up for grabs too, which included the black spandex outfit from his ‘Scream’ video and also a suit from the 1980s, which Michael wore during his BAD tour. His favourite costumiers, designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush, created all of Michael’s stage outfits and many of the pieces had not been seen in public since Michael died in 2009.

The collection of clothing and effects will be displayed in an exhibition called ‘Icons and Idols’ in various locations across the world, including, Europe, Asia and South America, before the final sale takes place at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills in December. The auction house’s spokesperson said, ‘There is no doubt that Michael Jackson was a global fashion icon as well as award winning and beloved musician. His wardrobe dictated many of the styles throughout the last few decades. Jackson played a very intimate role in the designs and completion of every costume and piece of clothing he wore both on stage and in his personal life.”

From the proceeds of the sale, a portion of the money will be donated to the charities, Guide Dogs of America and Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas.

6-year-old Pudsey (a border collie, Chinese crested powderpuff and bichon fries crossbreed) and 17-year-old Ashleigh from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire stole the hearts of the nation with their fantastic act. Ashleigh admitted that she thought opera singers, Charlotte and Jonathan, would win the show and she said, “The whole series I thought Charlotte and Jonathan were going to win it. I was preparing myself to jump on them and congratulate them. It was just a massive shock to me.” She is obviously delighted by their success, saying, “It’s amazing. It didn’t really sink in that I would be performing for the Queen until I was having my photo taken with some random person. I’m so honoured and it’s going to be an amazing experience, especially in the Jubilee year. Maybe I and Pudsey could help her corgies learn a trick or two!”

Little Pudsey was given to Ashleigh as an 11th birthday present and they started agility training when he was just 12 months old and canine freestyle from the age of three. Ashleigh said, “He’s still so young and absolutely loves training and performing. He really listens to me and sits still when the lights are on him, but I keep telling people that with patience you can teach almost any dog these tricks.” He’s already got a pet passport in preparation for his stateside appearances and will be travelling in style on Simon Cowell’s private jet. Now that he’s a canine celebrity, he’s had his name trademarked by Simon’s company Syco and even had security guard escorts at the ITV studios! Well, after all, he is now estimated to be worth £10million! He even has his own showbiz agent, Jonathan Shalit, who looks after Myleene Klass and Tulisa Contostavlos.

As well As delighting the audience, the BGT judges also fell in love with Pudsey. Simon Cowell was especially smitten and declared, ‘I’m so happy. My life’s work is complete. One of my favourite ever acts. You know how much I love dogs. I adore both of you Ashleigh and Pudsey. You’ve got better and better. What you’ve done is such a short time is a miracle.”

The newspapers went crazy this morning reporting Holly’s hard-drinking antics, but actually it seems to have been one big practical joke. It does seem that they did actually have a bit of a boozy evening though and Holly and Phil enjoyed 100 per cent Agave tequila on Alan’s show. They decided to opt for the Lunazul Blanco Tequila as Holly had heard that that particular brand didn’t leave you with a hangover, which seemed to be a good idea considering that they had to film a live ‘This Morning’ broadcast the next day! Phil sent Alan a message on Twitter explaining his request for Agave tequila, , writing, “Because @hollwills says there’s no hangover! @AlanCarr ….. We could bring our own!”

It didn’t seem to stop them getting drunk though and Phil tweeted, “Finished recording the interview with @hollywills for @AlanCarr on Friday’s @chattyman .. On my way home …pissed .. #tequilaexperiment…” he explained that the ‘experiment’ was that, “If you drink 100 per cent Agave Tequila…. You don’t get a hangover! We’ve done the bottle!!”

The next morning both presenters appeared to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on the live ‘This Morning’ broadcast and Phil seemed to think the Agave tequila theory was proved right and tweeted, “Remarkable! @hollywills was right, I can confirm that the #tequilaexperiment was a success!! Yes, the #tequilaexperiment worked as our appearance on This Morning today will testify.”

Holly obviously didn’t want people to think that she was as drunk as Phil’s pic suggested though and wrote her own tweet, saying, “For the record… That tequila pic was a joke?… But I did eat a few of the crisps!”

On Tuesday night the boy band ‘The Loveable Rogues’ were voted into the BGT final by the public after performing their catchy self-penned track ‘Lovesick’, however, the lads revealed on TV show ‘This Morning’ that they had been hand-picked to perform before the judges, Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

Not only that, but it has since been discovered that far from going through the normal audition process, The Loveable Rogues were spotted on YouTube and were approached by BGT programme makers to appear on the show! The trio, Sonny Jay, Te Eugene and Eddie Brett, even admitted that they hadn’t really considered entering BGT until they were contacted by the TV bosses.

During the TV interview, the band let the secret news slip, with Te saying, “They were supportive, we told them we wanted to do our own song and we didn’t have any issues. I think they knew from the gist of our band and from YouTube, that it’d work.” Band mate, Sonny, explained, “The audition in front of the judges was the first one that we’d actually done. We never really thought about doing shows like this, but obviously an opportunity came along and it would be silly not to… a show like this is an incredible platform – within weeks everyone knows who you are.” The third member of the group, Eddie, admitted to the Daily Mirror, “We did get approached by the show. Simon Cowell is a massive influence in the music industry, and one of the biggest people at what he does. It was fantastic at the audition, we knew from that point forward he knew who we are, so that was a big deal.”

BGT bosses didn’t apologise for their actions, but defended them, saying, “To ensure we leave no stone unturned in our search for the best talent, we let people know about auditions in lots of ways – from ads in local papers to fliers distributed at festivals. As part of this normal process, we may inform some acts about the auditions. These acts still have to apply and go through the same process as every other act. All acts are auditioned on their own merits and the judges then decide who goes through to the live shows.” They were keen to point out that the judges had not been aware how ‘The Loveable Rogues’ had got to the audition stage however.

It doesn’t seem to have done the band much harm though, as Simon Cowell has already expressed his admiration for the group and hinted that he would be keen to sign them to his record label, saying, “It was brilliant. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. You’ve come along at the right time, you are current, I know who you should be working with on your first album, I can hear that single already.” The song is tipped to be a number one single before the end of the year and also bookmakers Ladbrokes are offering odds of 7/1 that ‘The Loveable Rogues’ will win the BGT competition on Saturday.

Russell filed for divorce from Katy back in December due to ‘irreconcilable differences’, but it seems Russell felt the need to contact Katy and express his regret at their split because she had been photographed looking very cosy with Robert Ackroyd from band ‘Florence and the Machine’ at the Coachella music festival.

Russell was apparently incredibly jealous when he saw the pictures of Katy with Robert and it spurred him into writing a lengthy email in which admitted that he ‘gave up’ on their relationship too quickly and that ending their 14 month marriage was a ‘mistake’. It’s also reported that in the email he asked Katy to give him a second chance.

Grazia magazine spoke to a source close to Russell who said, “Word has it Russell was ‘seething with jealousy’ when he saw pictures of her with Rob. He apparently feels he gave up on their relationship too easily. It’s fair to say that Russell only wishes Katy happiness but perhaps he should have realised just how special his wife was when he was married to her rather than five months later.”

When their divorce was made public, Russell gave a statement, saying, “Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I will always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.” It seems he’s still keen to protect her too, as he didn’t take too kindly to a heckler at a recent comedy gig calling out Katy’s name repeatedly.  He demanded that the lights be turned on so he could see the heckler, then started to bombard him with verbal abuse, saying, “I think keep your lips firmly clamped together because everything that comes out of your mouth from your idiotic announcements to your disgusting halitosis is an abomination.” Wow – remind me NEVER to heckle Russell Brand!

We’ll just have to watch this space to see if Katy decides to take him back…
