Air travel continued to be the most preferred mode of travel by Asian tourists to Britain and the European Union, as is evident from the statistics for several consecutive years. The British Isles is connected by air with practically every major city in the world. It can be seen from the published statistics that air transport continued to be the major mode of transport for the Asian tourists on the whole, barring the case of South Asian travelers who showed a greater preference for sea transport.

Hotels and restaurants greatly benefited out of the visit of tourists and visitors from other parts of the world. The Weston Super Mare Hotels always had a loyal clientele consisting of people with Asian descent. It is obvious from the data published by the tourism department that most of the visitors from India arrived by air. Even then, sea transport is definitely picking up with the Sri Lankan tourists. Arrivals by road are rather negligible.

When considering the traveling pattern of people from the West and South Asian regions, the summer arrivals were higher than the winter arrivals. For example, tourist arrivals from West Asia during the summer months from April to November were more than that during the winter seasons.

Remarkably the seasonal pattern of tourist arrivals from South East Asia and East Asia is just the reverse of the pattern witnessed during the summer months. In other words, in the case of visitors from South-east Asia, winter arrivals were lesser in number than during the summer months.

Thus, it is clear that in spite of a slight variation in tourist arrivals from the different regions of the Asian market, there is a continuous flow of visitors throughout the year. Apparently the heat of the Asian summer is acting as a motivation for the tourists. Also the cool English climate hardly acts as a deterrent to the tourists from visiting Britain. It has been rightly remarked that there is always some place in Britain, at any time of the year, where you can enjoy a relaxing and memorable vacation.

So I'm about a week away from going to Appomattox River Company to pick up a new fishing kayak(waiting on a pay check) so until next weekend i'm still shore bound. In light of that I went over to the bridge near portsmouth city park. I guess they call it a tressle or whatever. Anyhow the grass there deceivingly looks like a good spot for pups. Threw out different lures and popped the cork with no success. I also went over to the the shore near the WNB and Culpeppers and threw out some squid and shrimp on various rigs and threw a mirrolure and also a jig into the grassy areas for chits and giggles. I managed nothing at that spot as usual. The only reason I ever go there is from reading a few reports on here a couple of years ago and some random people along that area that say that puppy drum are pulled up there from time to time. I believe them, however, I've never had any luck with the pups around that area...Anyhow anyone want to show me some pup holes this weekend in or around ptown??? I'm down to pay for gas, bait blah blah, LET ME KNOW CUZ I HAVEN'T CAUGHT ONE SLOT PUP THIS ENTIRE SUMMER SINCE I GOT HOME FROM COLLEGE!!! haha seriously though it's getting frustrating and until I get that Kayak, I feel like the drought is only going to continue from piers and random shore bound places I fish like Lesner ect. Anyhow, until then I suppose i'll keep catching and releasing undersized flounder until my arms fall off.

I joined this site late last summer after a family member got a place down on Oak Island. I have made a few posts asking for pointers, so I figured I might as well let you all know how the fishin was coming so someone could make use of the little bit I seem to have picked up. Its taken a while to figure them out (still haven't to be honest), but we're gettin there.

Mornin of the 4th we cast netted some live shrimp and a few finger mullets. On the outgoing tide we drifted them through the inlet between Oak Island and Holden and got some mixed results. Caught several small blues, mostly on cutbaits after the live mullets were getting whacked, enough for a fry anyway. Drifting the shrimp we caught a couple nice whiting (1-2 real nice sized) and 4-5 small flounder below the size limit. Once we started getting out past the inlet into more of the open water, we were getting killed by little dogfish, can't tell you how many of them we reeled in. Threw around a bucktail and a gotcha plug for a while on the drifts with nothing to speak of, though something (looked like a decent sized, 3-4 foot maybe, shark blew up at it right at the boat one time but missed) All in all, action was steady and we ended up with enough for a fry. Sooner or later we'll really get into em, I'll let you know when it happens.

From the surf we had no luck on the morning of the 5th except for one shark (looked like a sand tiger to me) that we estimated at about 20-25 pounds that hit a mullet head right at about 6 a.m. Nothing other than that, lot of grass started coming in. Anyone else been doing much down that way?
