Here’s a small clip from the Ceu gig last week. It was shot on the iPhone so the quality of both the audio and the video isn’t particularly good, but you get the idea. Here’s hoping we’ll manage to catch her live in Brazil at some point in the future.

Gomez playing live at Koko, Camden London

Last week Rose and I went to see Gomez play live at Koko in Camden, London. This time we gave ourselves a little more time to sit down, eat something and chill out before the gig, and make sure we had any drinks we wanted outside of the (rip off) Koko bar.

We headed back to the Blues Kitchen and ordered some food. I had a plate of bbq shrimps (prawns), a massive burger and the biggest oreo cookie milkshake. Its a wonder I managed to walk out the door, let alone go to a gig. Rose tucked into a salad and a giant steak!

With full bellies we headed off to Koko and got ready for Gomez. It’s funny, Gomez are a band I have liked since I was at Uni (a while back now). But I’ve never seen them live. So when the chance to get some tickets came along I was keen to get involved.

Gomez played an awesome set, which brought back many Uni memories and good times from my early twenties. Good times all round! Thanks to Rosie for buying me the tickets for my birthday!

A few weeks back Rose and I went to see Ceu play at Koko in Camden. We stopped off to sample the local craft beer at The Blues Kitchen beforehand and then hit up the gig for some cool Brazlian music. We got a few pics and some vids (which I will post next time). The only downside of the evening was that it cost £9.50 for a vodka and coke! Not quite the same as in Brazil!

Brewing all grain craft beer: Surftide Everyday IPA

About a month ago my awesome girlfriend Rose bought me the Brooklyn Brew Shop Beer Making Book for my birthday. Since then I’ve brewed up two Everyday IPAs, a chocolate Maple Porter and a Raspberry Ale.

I’ve only tried a few bottles of the first batch of Everyday IPA, but I can officially report that they tasted pretty good. Not quite as hoppy as I had hoped for, but a good start all the same.
