Day 16.  Something new.  New infinity scarf that I made! I’m kinda proud of myself!

Day 17.  Time.  It’s weekend time!

Day 18.  Drink(s).  A days worth.  (Side note.  I have not had a dr. pepper in 16 days!!)

Day 19.  something I hate to do.  Wait for a train to pass with a screaming fussy (precious) toddler in the backseat.

Day 20.  Handwriting.  Handwritten notes to my sweet Jaxon boy from me.

Day 21.  Favorite photo of myself.  Circa 2003 at our favorite place on earth… camp lu-jo

Day 22.  Where I work. (taken a day late)

Day 23.  your shoes.  Mommy toms.  baby toms.

Day 24.  Inside your bathroom closet.

Day 25.  Green.  Broccoli for dinner (with the best carrots ever and grilled chicken and long grain/wild rice)

Day 26.  Night.  Watched America’s funniest home videos with my boys while ignoring the baby toys that need to be picked up.  (don’t worry.  they were picked up before bed)

Day 27.  Something I ate.  Greek yogurt and veggies/rice for lunch.  Brinner (breakfast for dinner), sausage pancakes that Joey created.  yum.

Day 28.  Money.  This is how I manage mine each day.

Day 29.  Something I’m listening to.  I’m listening to this little chatter/scream one minute-laugh-the-next box, aka Eli.  I love him.

So, there you go.  I ACTUALLY completed a 30 day challenge… and guess what?  I’m doing it again for March.  I will post all pics here.  I love documenting our life and this is a great way to prompt me to do so on a normal basis again.  If you’re participating be sure to let me know.  I love to see all of the different variations of the daily challenge.

So I decided to start in February. There are evidently several people putting lists out there, but I’m a fan and follower of Fat Mum Slim. I want to have a place to remember all of my photos.. so back to my ole’ trusty blog I go! Here are my photos from February.

Day 1.  My view for 90% of the day.  Prepping for a meeting at work.

Day 2.  Words I read recently from an amazing book, 52 things kids need from a mom.

Day 3.  Hands.  Strong Grandaddy hand.  Sweet and tender Grandmother hand.  Precious tiny Eli hand.

Day 4.  A stranger.  or 3.  At a Japanese steak house.

Day 5.  10:00am.  My sleeping baby in church.

Day 6.  Dinner.  Taco soup.  Yum.

Day 7.  Button.  The most gratifying one.  Delete.

Day 8.  Sun.  The sun wasn’t out here today so I used a pic from the fall when I was in Cali visiting my sister and her family.

Day 9.  Front Door.

Day 10.  me.  Excited for five guys burger and fries and a girls craft weekend. (really me being a dork and showing my “happy face”)

Day 11.  Makes me happy.  A pile of fabric and apron making.  Learning to sew.

Day 12.  Inside my closet.

Day 13.  Blue.  My blue lunch bag.

Day 14.  Heart.  This was tied to Jaxon’s chair as part of our valentines breakfast decor.

Day 15.  My Phone.  i ADORE my iphone.

As wonderful as it has been, I always look forward to January.  I love fresh starts.  And Routine.  As much as I like pulling all of the Christmas decorations out, I love the feel of a successful Christmas season behind us and all of the STUFF put away.  With that usually comes some cleaning out, throwing away, donation stacks, to-donate and to-sell stacks.

January just opens itself up as a blank slate.  A full year ahead of us.  Only God knows what’s in store.  It is so exciting to get a fresh new planner/calendar and start filling it with events and appointments and vacations, and to-do’s.  At the same time, I think I love January because I feel free.  Free to make changes, better choices, implement new ideas and have more focus.  I just love the clearing of clutter, not only physically, but mentally.

My hope for this new year is to focus on just that, clearing clutter.  I want to clear my thoughts.  I want to minimize.  I want to de-clutter .  My home, my mind, my STUFF, my time.

The song that keeps coming to my mind is one of my favorites of all time.  I find myself singing it often.  I feel like this applies to so many areas of my life.

So, my “resolution” if you will… Is to take each day for what it is.  Live in the moment.  Make better choices in the moment. Get rid of distractions that are not building my family or myself up. (ie. phone, fb, pinterest, etc., etc., etc.).  Get rid of stuff that we do not need and that may serve someone else.

I am so thankful for the fresh start….  Happy January 2012!!

Jaxon was so happy

On Thursday 9.22.11 at 4:40 am, my baby officially turned one.  We are filled with so much joy.  We have been through so much this past year and are just so blessed.

We celebrated in a large way this past weekend.  I am still going through pics and physically recovering, so I will post soon.  I promise (mom and dad ).

So for now…. Happy FIRST birthday Elijah Michael!  We love you!

While the end of the summer is bittersweet, I think KNOW our family is ready for the fall.

Of course there are obvious reasons like.. oh I don’t know, having the temp be below triple digits. Football season! Routine and a little more structure.
